Mr. Jerry A. Killian

Jerry A. Killian, age 68, a resident of DeQueen, died Friday, June 8, 2007 at his home.

He was born September 24, 1938 in Dierks, to Ab Killian and Snow White Killian. He was a retired diesel mechanic for D & E Railroad and attended the First United Methodist Church in De Queen. He loved to hunt, fish, and watch his granddaughters play sports.

Mr. Killian was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Jan Dossett.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Thornton Killian; a daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Tracy Nealy of DeQueen; a son, Jerry Don Killian of Orange County, CA; a brother and sister-in-law, Don “Pinball” and Rita Killian of Cerro Gordo, Arkansas; and two granddaughters, J.K. and Nikki Nealy.

Funeral services for Mr. Killian will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 10, 2007 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Rockey Starnes officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in De Queen or the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Madge Revels

Mrs. Madge Revels, age 99 a resident of Lockesburg, died Monday, June 4th, 2007 in De Queen.

She was born September 23, 1907 in Lockesburg to Hillary and May Tollett Christain. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Lockesburg.

Mrs. Revels was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Revels; two daughters, Bea Watts and Ruth Ellen Hudgins.

She is survived by four sons, Robbie Louis of Frost, Texas; Dr. Ed Revels of De Queen, Lonnie Keith Revels of Hico, Texas and Richard Paul Revels of Lockesburg; 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great- grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Revels will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2007 in the First Baptist Church in Lockesburg with Rev. Jack Gilliland officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd fellows Section of Lockesburg Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mr. Joe Lee Morris

Mr. Joe Lee Morris, age 74, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Sunday, August 12, 2007 in the De Queen Regional Medical Center, De Queen.

He was born to Jesse Lee and Bessie Evel Pruett Morris at Slidell, Texas, on April 21, 1933. Joe was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ of De Queen, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U. S. Army. He was retired from Shell Oil Company, where he served as a section supervisor. He had a passion for playing music, and fishing, and enjoyed sitting on his deck.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Fay McClure Morris of De Queen, two sons and daughters- in-law, Jerry Lee and Kimberly Morris of Richmond, Texas, and Don Kevin and Heather Morris of De Queen;, one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Van Kimbro of Dallas, Texas, six grandchildren, Ryan, Kelli, Jeff, Amy Beth, Haley, and Jesse, one brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Dona Morris of De Queen, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Joe Morris will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2007 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Van Ledbetter, minister officiating. Graveside funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2007 in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Decatur, Texas. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Children’s Home of Lubbock, P. O. Box 2824, Lubbock, Texas.

Mrs. Lee Murphy

Mrs. Lolita Lee Chambliss Murphy, age 85, resident of De Queen, Ark., died Monday, August 13, 2007, in the Crystal Falls Health Center, De Queen, Ark.

She was born to Thomas Cleveland and mary Mardis Chambliss at Pangburn, Arkansas on January 13, 1922. She was a retired Wal Mart Greeter, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the Vineyard Baptist Church in ontario, Calif., and enjoyed coking, family, and her poodle, Pierre.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Clement Chambliss, a son, Monty Dishongh, in 1989, her husband, Larry J. Murphy in 2000, and a daughter-in-law, Breta Dishongh in 2006.

She is survived by two sons, Bill Dishongh of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Joe Dishongh of Plainview, Ark., a daughter-in-law, Kay Duggan of De Queen, ten grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Lee Murphy will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2007 in the Chapel Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Staggs officaiting, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Mr. William Hill

Mr. Charles William Hill, age 85, resident of De Queen, died Sunday, August 12, 2007, in the Crystal Falls Health Center, De Queen.

He was born to John Daniel and Flora A. Sanders Hill at Hatton, Arkansas, on December 10, 1921. He was the owner of Hill's Salvage, in De Queen and was a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting and was a Baptist.

William was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 51 years, Dorene Mae Flower Hill, a son, Jerry Hill, a brother John Hill, and two sisters; Maggie Sammons and Catharene Hemby.

He is survived by two sons; Charles Hill of De Queen and Chad Hill of Texarkana, TX; three grandchildren; Jerry Lynn Hill and his wife Carla of Texarkana, AR; Blake Hill and Kaylin Hill both of Alaska; two great- grandchildren; Nikki Hill and Cedric Hill both of Texarkana, AR; a niece Patsy Stewart and a nephew John William Hill both of Wickes, AR.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. William Hill will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2007, in the Daniel Cemetery, Wickes, AR with Rev. Leon McCleskey officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mrs. Beulah Lavon Black Bradley

Mrs. Beulah Lavon Black Bradley, age 83, a resident of De Queen, AR died Monday, August 13, 2007 in the Crystal Falls Healthcare Center.

She was born September 4, 1923 in Golden, OK to Ellis and Georgia Hendrix Black. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by four sons, Edwin Bradley of Nashville, AR, Calvin Bradley, Don Bradley and Randy Bradley, all of De Queen; five daughters, Sue Neeley and Bobbie Jean Morris, both of De Queen, Lou Ann Beavers of Broken Arrow, OK, Jane Ellen Dinger of De Queen, and Sharon Gray of Dierks, AR; one brother, Lester Black of Seattle, WA; one sister Hazel Smith of Tempe, AZ; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Bradley will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2007 in the Chapel Hill Cemetery with Van Ledbetter, minister officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at the funeral home.

Mr. Elbert Archer Gray

Elbert Archer Gray was born the second son of Irwin A. and Ethel Z. Gray at De Queen, Arkansas on July 3, 1918. He lived his first six years near Roundup, Montana. His parents moved to De Queen in April 1924. He lived the rest of his life at the same place except for his last year was spent in Benton, AR. He was never married.

He is preceded by his brother Emerson, his parents Irwin and Ethel Gray, sisters Hazel A. Gray and Dorothy M. Johnson. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Church, De Queen, AR and Geyer Springs First Baptist Church in Little Rock Sunday School class. He was a very dear, kind man.

He is survived by his sister Izora E. Barton of Albany, MO and 4 nephews: David (Jessie Gower) Johnson, Denton, TX, Paul (Ann) Johnson of Farmington, AR, Robert A. (Kathy) Johnson of Benton, AR, and James C. (Leslie) Johnson of Sherwood, AR. Also survived are nephews Michael, Mark, Jonathan, Graham, and Joshua Johnson, nieces Kayla, Kristin, Jennifer, Qara, and Julie Johnson, step nieces Iris James – Carole Barton of Missouri: step nieces Brenda Stanton and Debra Grubel of Van Meter, Iowa, Shelia Jennings of Bethany, MO, Sharron Barbara Grady, Joan Zeimerman and Sally Barherger of California. Step nephew Michael Barton of Illinois, Kenneth James and Jerry James of Missouri, and other relatives who miss him very much.

Funeral Services for Mr. Gray will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 11, 2007 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Alfred Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ida Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 10th at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Church in De Queen.

Mrs. Nellie Mae White Priest

Mrs. Nellie Mae White Priest, age 85, a resident of Texarkana, Arkansas died Monday, August 6, 2007 in Wadley Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 5, 1922 in Rising City, Nebraska to Frank Edward and Irene Taylor White. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Odley Edwin "Bud" Priest in 2006.

She is survived by one daughter, Inez Webb of Ashdown, AR; four brothers, Lee Barton of Texas, Charlie White and Junior White both California and Van White of Oklahoma; a special niece, Carolyn Barfield of New Boston, TX; six grandchildren and a number nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Priest will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 11, 2007 in the Old Piney Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Jones officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 10th at the funeral home.

Mr. Elbert Archer Gray

Mr. George Washington “Sonny” Meeks

Mr. George Washington “Sonny” Meeks, age 89, a resident of Dierks, died Monday, August 6, 2007 in Dierks.

He was born March 13, 1918 in Sevier County to W.N. and Nettie Wilson Meeks. He was a millwright for Weyerhaeuser and a professional bull rider.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Waldrop Meeks; one son, Doyle Neal; two daughters, Netty Wilson and Pauline Lingo all of Dierks; one brother, Bobby Meeks of Yuma, AZ; one sister, Amanda Henson of Farmersville, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Meeks will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2007 in the New Bethel Cemetery with Rev. John Henry Williams officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 7th at the funeral home in Dierks.
