Allie Lee Willis Packnett

Mrs. Allie Lee Willis Packnett, age 84, a resident of Eagletown, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 in the Broken Bow Nursing Home.

She was born August 4, 1924 in Eagletown to Oscar (Dick) and Grace Smith Willis. Allie was a compassionate hard working wife, mother and grandmother who loved God and her family. She was a “war bride” during World War II and worked as a welder at the Willemit Ship Yard in Portland, Oregon. Allie had an adventurous heart and a passion for life. She made her home a warm and welcoming place everyone loved to visit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years, Jack Packnett; two brothers, Warren (Bo) Willis and Max Willis; daughter-in-law, Judy Packnett and granddaughter, Lori O’Connor.

She is survived by one son, Gehri Packnett of De Queen; one daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Darrell Spradling of Hochatown, Oklahoma; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Buck and Alta Willis of Eagletown and Billy and Pat Willis of Horatio; her grandchildren, Debbie and Steve Smith, Scott and Lynn Packnett, Jeff and Rome Lipsey, Paul and Cristal Lipsey, John O’Connor, Sicili Bray, Shiloh and Jody McCoy and Rob and Kelly Spradling; 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Packnett will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2009 in the First Assembly of God Church in De Queen with Bro. Ray Reynolds and Bro. Melvin Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Eagletown Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 11th at the funeral home.

Donivan Ray Bradshaw

Mr. Donivan Ray Bradshaw, age 59, a resident of Eagletown, Oklahoma, died Monday, June 8, 2009 at his home.
He was born to E. H. and Polly Overturf Bradshaw at De Queen, Arkansas, on December 27, 1949. He was a retired math and science teacher, having taught in Beggs, Westville, Valliant, and Eagletown, Oklahoma, as well as a rancher. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Broken Bow, Okla. and enjoyed raising cattle, and bailing hay.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Vance Bradshaw of Eagletown, Okla., three sons and a daughter-in-law, Patrick Scott Bradshaw of Poteau, Okla. and Tony and Melanie Bradshaw of Wister, Okla.; and Scott Hendrix of Euless, Tex.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Eddie Dunn of Van Buren, Ark., Stacey Hendrix of Texarkana, Ark.; and Sheri and Jeff Cook of Athens, Ark.; one sister, Deborah Azizinamini of Eagletown, Okla.; eleven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, including two special nephews, David and Damon Azizinamini, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral Services for Mr. Donivan Bradshaw will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 11, 2009 in the Eagletown Gym, Eagletown, Okla. with Cy Davis, Minister, Officiating. Burial will follow in the West Otis Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Memorials may be made to the Donivan “Don” Bradshaw Memorial Scholarship Fund, First Bank & Trust, Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

Florence Ann Graham

Florence Ann Graham, 73, of Garvin, passed away Saturday June 6, 2009 at the McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel. She was born January 13, 1936 in Pleasant Hill, OK, the daughter Dave and Irene (Jennings) Wheeler.

Ann was a retired secretary, having worked for the L.P. gas Company for several years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and was a devoted caretaker to her animals. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Ann was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a step-daughter, Sherry Johnson.

Ann is survived by her husband Jr. Graham of the home, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Alan and Connie Cobb of Lakeside, AZ, Phillip Cobb of Oklahoma City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Eddie White of Idabel, Sandra and Bruce Jackson of Lockesburg, AR; step-son Doug and Georgia Graham of Garvin, step-daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Dwaine Diemer of Garvin, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Myrl and Joan Wheeler, of Hollycreek, Harold and Helen Wheeler of Garvin, Dink Wheeler of Idabel, one sister, Virgie Faircloth, of Wylie TX, 12 twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Idabel with Rev. Bruce Brotherton officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery under the direction of Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow, OK

The Family will receive friends from 6:00p.m until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 09, 2009 at the funeral home.

Aaron DeWayne Tracy

Mr. Aaron DeWayne Tracy, age 66, a resident of Horatio, and former resident of Mena, Arkansas, died Friday, June 5, 2009 at his home.
He was born to Lyman E. and Gladys L. Lyons Bohannon at Mauldin, Missouri, on January 31, 1943. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the U. S. Navy C. B’s, and was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Joseph Bohannon. He is survived by two daughters, Carol McGuire of Port Orchard, Washington, and Jamie Smith of Cashmere, Washington, three brothers, Anythany Bohannon of Vancouver, Washington, George Bohannon of Portland, Oregon, and Don Bohannon of Canton, Texas, three sisters, Barbara Carlson of Anchorage, Alaska, Jeanetta Jordon of Horatio, Ark., and Deborah Watkins of Anchorage, Alaska, three grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Burial will be in Pershastin, Washington.

Robert Eugene Taylor

Mr. Robert Eugene Taylor, age 43, a resident of Little Rock, Arkansas died Monday, June 1, 2009 in Little Rock.

He was born March 19, 1966 in De Queen. He was self employed.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, Obie and Lorena Peck Taylor.

He is survived by four sisters, Katherine Strickland of De Queen, Barbara Brakefield of Gillham, Lena Price of Jackson, Mississippi and Patsy Melson of Dierks; two brothers, James Taylor of Phoenix, Arizona and David Taylor of Little Rock and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Dorothy B. Ramsey McCoy

Mrs. Dorothy B. Ramsey McCoy, age 75, a resident of Eagletown, Oklahoma, died Monday, June 1, 2009 in Eagletown.

She was born June 13, 1933 in De Queen. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. McCoy was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Hettie Ford Ramsey; her husband, Marvin McCoy in 1994 and one son, Bobby McCoy in 2008.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Owen; five sons, Dale McCoy, Donnie McCoy, Gene McCoy, James McCoy all of Eagletown and Jack McCoy of Horatio, AR; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. McCoy will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2009 in the Eagletown Cemetery with Cy Davis, minister officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Deborah Klitz Vaughn

Deborah Klitz Vaughn, age 53, a resident of Shreveport, LA died Tuesday, May 26, 2009 in Shreveport.
Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Klitz in 2005.
She is survived by her husband, James Vaughn of Shreveport; one daughter, Amanda Thomas of Shreveport; one son, Scott Lord of New Orleans, LA; her mother, Effie Klitz of Winthrop, AR; one sister, Rachel Aldaz of San Antonio, TX; two brothers, Ronald Klitz and Joel David Klitz, both of Winthrop, and two granddaughters, Trishia and Karie.
A memorial service was held in Shreveport on Thursday, May 28, 2009.
A memorial service will be held at a later date for friends and family in Arkansas.

D.V. “Jim” Parks

Mr. D.V. “Jim” Parks, age 72, a resident of Gillham, AR died Saturday, May 30, 2009 at his home. He was born March 30, 1937 in Mineral, AR. He was retired from Nekoosa-Edwards in Ashdown after 27 years. He was a member of the Silver Hill Masonic Lodge, the Sevier County Cattlemens Assn., and the Gillham Baptist Church. He loved spending time with friends and family and watching his Brangus cross cows grow on the Bar P Ranch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Georgie Parks ; one brother Derwin Parks, and two sisters, Nep Argenbright and Neta Faye Whisenhunt.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Reves Parks; his children, Benny (Kim) Parks of Wickes, AR, Vernon (Brenda) Parks of Gillham, Alicia (Joey) Botter, Shelly (Rodney) Kilby and Starla (Steve) Bleifus all of Hot Springs, AR, his siblings, Tula Mae Higgins of Texarkana, TX, Delter Parks of Wickes, Freda Jo Adair of Lockesburg, AR and Murl Higgins of Gillham, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Parks will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2009 in the Gillham Baptist Church with Rev. Bob McManus officiating. Burial will follow in the Mineral Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, June 1, 2009 at the funeral home.

Lloyd Howard Smith, Sr.

Mr. Lloyd Howard Smith, Sr. age 84, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas died Monday, June 29, 2009 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born March 30, 1925 in Yuma, Arizona. He was the owner and operator, along with his son Marty, in the trucking business from 1989-2006. He was a 50 year member of the Operating Engineer Local #3 in Fresno, California and a member of the 1st Southern Baptist Church of Crossroads.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Ava Lee Drake Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice Faye Keller Smith; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd H. Jr. and Anne Smith of El Dorado, Arkansas, Derrell W. and Linda Smith of Clovis, California and Marty K. and Sonja Smith of Foreman, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, , J.D. and Molly Smith of Sanger, California; six grandchildren, Lisa Slater, Rick Smith, Erin Simmons, J.R. Smith, Kaitlyn Smith and Kaleb Smith and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Smith will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in the 1st Southern Baptist Church of Crossroads with Pastor Chris Fowler and Pastor Gary Steiner officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 30th at the funeral home.

Douglas Wayne McWilliams

Mr. Douglas Wayne McWilliams, age 49, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, June 25th at his home.
He was born to Clayborn Hayes and Jackie McGuire McWilliams at San Manuel, Arizona on August 31, 1959. He was a millwright for Weyerhaeuser Company, and enjoyed target practice, guns, and working on cars.

He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Clayborn R. “Lefty” McWilliams.

He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Fran Burgess McWilliams of De Queen, one son, Bill McWilliams of Fayetteville, Ark.; one daughter, Julie and Ray Staggs of De Queen, his mother and step-father, Jackie and Doyle Neal of Dierks, Ark.; three sisters, Carole Bearden of Ashdown, Cathy Diggs of Dierks, and Cheryl Rudy of Philadelphia, Penn., one granddaughter, Keri Staggs of De Queen, one step-brother, Bobby Neal of Dierks, one step-sister, Donna Childress of Hope, Ark.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Doug McWilliams will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 27th in the Redmen Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Neal officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 26th
