Karl Wilson
Prescott, Ark. — Karl Douglas “Skeet” Wilson Sr., 59, of Prescott, died Monday, June 27, 2011, in J.L. McClellan Veterans Administration Hospital.

He was born July 14, 1951, in Nevada County, the son of Lidge and Corine Sockwell Wilson.

He attended McRae High School. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Emmett.

He served in the United States Army National Guard and was honorably discharged. He was employed as a truck driver for Firestone.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Connie Hendrix; a grandson, Rayther Witherspoon; and a brother-in-law, Charles Martin.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Karl Wilson Jr. of Hillsboro, Texas, Marcus Wilson of Arkadelphia, Brandon Wilson of Prescott; daughters, Martina Larry of Denton, Texas, Felicia Lockett and Karla Wilson of Prescott; special family friends Shan Dixon and Cedric McKillion; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lynn Murphy and Brenda Martin of Prescott, and Carol Britt of Ashdown; and three brothers, Michael Murphy of Hope, Kenneth Murphy and James Murphy of Prescott.

Mr. Wilson will lie in repose at the Williams Funeral Home Prescott Chapel, 113 E. Elm St., on Friday, July 1, from 5-7 p.m.

The family will receive friends and share with them the Images of Life DVD from 6-7 p.m. The last farewell and tributes to his life will be shared on Saturday, July 2, at 2 p.m. at New Beginnings COGIC where Elder Herbert Adams is the pastor.

Bearers of the casket will be Shawn Jefferson, Brian Jordan, Rodney Moreland, Damon Hart, Tamarcus Jefferson and Daryl Hardamon.

Honorary bearers will be Karl Wilson Jr., Brandon Wilson, Marcus Wilson, Roshaud Young, James Dixon, O.C. Willingham, Quincy Samuels, Kirk Flennory and Mark Christopher.

The committal service and final resting place will be in DeAnn Cemetery with military honors.

Kim Seale
Arkadelphia, Ark. — MALVERN — Kim Marie (Baker) Seale, age 51, of Malvern, passed from this life on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at the Arkansas Hospice Unit of St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs.

She was born Nov. 12, 1959, in Memphis, Tenn., the daughter of Frank and Donna Baker. Kim was a homemaker and a member of Manning Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father.

Kim is survived by her husband, Keith Seale of Sparkman; three sons, Josh (Allianna) Cook of Bismarck, Dylan and Kanon Seale, both of Sparkman; one daughter, Lindsay (Brian) Davis of Adamsville, Tenn.; her mother and stepfather, Donna (Tim) Murray of Benton; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, at Delamar Cemetery with Bro. Jerry George officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

Pallbearers are Jonathan Burroughs, Donald Childers, Josh Cook, Keith Seale, Dylan Seale and Kevin Seale.

Memorials may be made to Delamar Cemetery.

John Elmore
Prescott, Ark. — Mr. John “Tommy” Elmore, 65, of Montrose died Friday, July 15, 2011, at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village.

Mr. Elmore was a native of Nevada County and a resident of the Mt. Pleasant Community east of Hamburg for the past 38 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during Vietnam Era and he was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by a grandson, James Charles “J.C.” Powell; his parents, John Harold and Elisie Mae Ridgel Elmore; and his father-in-law, Charles Tanksley.

He is survived by his wife of 37 1/2 years, Helen Tanksley Elmore of Montrose; three daughters, India Powell and husband, Bo, of Fountain Hill, Kelli Elmore of Montrose and Missie Elmore of Hot Springs; three sons, John “J.J.” Elmore and wife, Michelle of Montrose, Charles “Chris” Elmore and wife Shelly of Paragould and Stephen Elmore of Hot Springs; a brother, Malvern Elmore of Winnsboro, Texas; two sisters, Catherine Jester of Prescott and Martha Allison of Parkdale; 18 grandchildren, Billy O’Rourke, Frank McGlone, Chancelor Elmore, Raven Lowrey, Lacey Lowrey, Hannah Elmore, Jamie Elmore, Ryan Elmore, Allie Elmore, Dylan Elmore, Alex Powell, Drew Clark, Charlie Clark, Michael Elmore, Hiawatha Elmore, Brittany Powell D.J. Bell and Bailey Bell; four great-grandchildren; Bentley Hill Elmore, Payton McGlone, Kaylynn McGlone and Aubrey Johnston; and his mother-in- law, Marteal Tanksley of Parkdale.

William Malcom
Arkadelphia, Ark. — ARKADELPHIA — William Carol Malcom, age 72, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Baptist Medical Center-Arkadelphia.

He was born March 23, 1939, in Arkadelphia, the son of the late Paul and Lillian Shepherd Malcom. William was retired from Southern Ice Company, a member of Red "A" Hunting Club and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Malcom.

William is survived by two brothers, Ricky and Jimmy (Charlotte) Malcom, both of Arkadelphia; five sisters, Debbie (the late Neal) Wade, Cathy (the late Terry) Reynolds, Betty (Lonnie) Harkness, Geanetta (Arnold) Banks and Joyce (Ray) Heritage, all of Arkadelphia; nine nieces; and five nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Don Gates officiating. Interment will follow in Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Welch Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Richard Harkness, Kirk Hudspeth, Pee Wee Strother, Bruce White, Randall Young and Curtis Breshears.

Memorials may be made to Lakeview Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.

Bobbie Garrett Taylor
Arkadelphia, Ark. — Bobbie Jane Garrett Taylor, 77, of Texarkana, died Sunday, July 10, 2011, at her home.

Mrs. Taylor was born May 19, 1934, in Sutton, to the late Vernon and Faye Garrett. She was a homemaker, a neonatal nurse, and a devout Christian.

She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Max Taylor; one son, John Taylor, of Texarkana; grandson, Zachary Taylor, of El Dorado; one brother, Charles Garrett and his wife, Alice, of Texarkana; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

The funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating. The burial was at East Memorial Gardens under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church, Arkansas, 400 East Sixth St., Texarkana, Arkansas 71854.

The visitation was Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pearl Payne
Prescott, Ark. — Pearl Cornelius Payne died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Prescott at the age of 87.

She was born on June 9, 1924, to C.M. "Jake" and Addie Graham Cornelius.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren L. (Buster) Payne; four brothers, Lewis, Ray, Roy and Claude; and two sisters, Helen and Zula.

Survivors include two daughters, Becky Buchanan of Texarkana and Angela (Randy) Garner of Arkadelphia; one son, Michael W. (Judy) Payne of Texarkana; one granddaughter, Shay Garner of Little Rock; a dear friend, Pat Loe of Prescott; and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 23, from 5-7 p.m. at Pharr Funeral Home of Prescott. Memorial service will be Sunday, July 24, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Prescott. Arrangements are in the care of Pharr Funeral Home of Prescott with the Rev. Neal Ridling and the Rev. Frank Henson officiating. Burial will be at Nubbin Hill Cemetery following the Sunday service.

Memorials may be made to the church or charity of choice.

Trecia 'Trish' Neighbors
(October 28, 1949 - September 13, 2011)

Trecia ‘Trish’ Neighbors, 61, of Hot Springs, went home to be with the Lord on September 13, 2011. She was born October 28, 1949 in Searcy, Arkansas to Ralphus Bartlett and Betty Rose McGillvary. Trish was a devoted licensed nurse, member of Pastor Chuck McAlister’s Promise of Hope Organization and American Legion Post #13. She is predeceased by her parents, the love of her life, husband, Edward L. Neighbors, daughter, Melody Rose Neighbors and daughter-in-law, Alisha Neighbors.

Loving survivors include two sons, Edward Neighbors and Louis Neighbors; three daughters: Trecia Willis (James David) Butler, Leanora ‘Niki’ Fowler, all of Hot Springs and Cindy (Danny) Cunningham of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brothers, Donald Bartlett, of Texas and Ronald Bartlett, of Indiana; three half sisters, Elizabeth Muston, Wanda Wise and Terry Shirley, all of Hot Springs; her special Aunt Pete Middleton, of Bald Knob; and also her 12 grandchildren that affectionately called her MeMaw.

Lunch for family and friends will be 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Friday September 16, 2011 at New Life Church, 300 Pakis, Hot Springs, AR 71913.

A visitation in her honor will be 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, September 16, 2011 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Arkansas Hospice and St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center C5 Nursing Staff.

Inurnment will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Jan Johnson Riley
(June 18, 1938 - September 14, 2011)
Jan Johnson Riley, 73, passed away September 14, 2011 in Hot Springs. She was born in Little Rock June 18, 1938 to Velma Shores Johnson and James Edward Johnson. Jan grew up in Ashdown where she graduated from high school. She attended Texarkana College, Henderson State Teachers College, and graduated from UCA in 1978 with a degree in education. Jan taught school in Beebe, Humnoke and the Watson Chapel School District. She retired from teaching and moved to Hot Springs with her loving husband, Richard, in 1994.

She is preceded in death by her parents. Jan is survived by Richard and their three daughters Lissa Symancyk (Jim), Leslie Camp and Shannon Craft (Tim). She had five grandchildren – Hunter and Colton Craft, J.K. Symancyk (Jennifer), Ashley Slayton (Torry) and Amanda Peebles (Eric) and five great grandchildren – Emma and Turner Symancyk, Sawyer Slayton, Jaylen and Fletcher Peebles.

Visitation is planned for Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church and graveside service at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Ashdown Cemetery, Ashdown Arkansas.

Memorials may be made to Grand Avenue United Methodist Church Endowment Fund or Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Anna Artemissa "Artie" Skaggs
(Died September 16, 2011)
Anna Artemissa “Artie” Skaggs, 55, went to heaven on Friday, September 16, 2011 while surrounded by family and friends in Hot Springs, AR.

Artie is survived by her mother, Gwyn Brunkhorst; sister, Carol Carpenter; brother, Walter Brunkhorst III; son, Geoffrey Mangels; daughter Alexis Teal; two grandsons, Cannon and Aiden Teal.

She is preceded in death by her father, Walter Brunkhorst, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at The Gap Church, 500 Couchwood, Hot Springs, AR 71901.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Potter’s Clay Ministries, 110 Crescent Ave., Hot Springs, AR. 71901

Howard H. Wagner
(May 21, 1929 - September 17, 2011)
U.S. Veteran
Howard H. Wagner, 82, of Hot Springs Village, AR, formerly of Oshkosh, WI, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011. He was born May 21, 1929 in Green Bay, WI to the late Edward and Sylvia Wagner.

Howard served in the U.S. Navy and was released due to his father’s declining health and continued running the family business. He owned and operated Oshkosh Radiator from 1952-1992, now run by his son, Chris.

On June 19, 1954, Howard married Marcianna Jaworski, who preceded him in death on December 6, 1977. Together they shared 23 years of marriage and two children, Susan and Christopher. Howard enjoyed being a member of the Knights of Columbus, Eagle’s and Elk’s Clubs.

He married Jacqueline Pett on March 8, 1980. In 1995, Howard and Jackie retired to Hot Springs Village. Howard enjoyed many family weekends up north and loved hunting, golfing, fishing and gambling. His favorite hobby was woodworking in his shop, feeding and watching his outdoor “friends” and was an avid Green Bay Packer and Arkansas Razorback fan. He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor.

Howard is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jackie and their dog, Bogey of Hot Springs Village; daughter, Susan (Alan) Martin and their children, Heather, Kristina and Gregory; son, Christopher (Lisa) Wagner and their children, Michael and Ryan; stepchildren: Sherri (Paul) Getchel and their children, Amie (Aaron) Miller and Brian; and Jean (Jamie) Wilcox and their children, Jessica and Jordan; and Mark Pett; sister, Marjorie (Alfred) Loritz; and many nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Sandy.

Memorial service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday at Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church with Rev. David Wilson officiating.

Lester (Tom) Wilson
(July 17, 1919 - September 19, 2011)
Lester (Tom) Wilson, of Hot Springs, passed away at home September 19, 2011 at the age of 92. He was born in Buckville, Arkansas on July 17, 1919 to the late Jessie and Recie Wilson. He was preceded in death by two wives Vera (Braughton) and Edna (Harvey) Wilson; one daughter Reba (Marcel) Wilson; three step-sons Larry, Paul Jr., Gary Ray Harvey; two brothers Gene and Johnny Wilson. He leaves behind five sisters Ruby Nolan of Texas, Joyce Troutman (Bob), Margie Jensen (George), Carolyn Scott (Donny) all of Hot Springs, Marilyn Buck (Bruce) of Bismarck; two brothers Clyde and Pete Wilson of Hot Springs; one step-son Wayne “Boogie” Harvey (Carol); one granddaughter Tammy Niles (John); three grandsons Brandt Roach (Jenni), Shane Roach and Dewayne Harvey. Seven great grandchildren Britny, Breanna, Jerimiah, Brandon (Partain) Roach, Tabitha Greager (Ryan), Janelle Cornell, Thomas Niles and five great-great grandchildren . Pallbearers are Dewayne Harvey, Jack Hennessee, Ryan Greager, Al Marti, Brandt Roach, Fred White. Honorary pallbearers are Dierksen Hospice, Heritage Health and Rehab, Dr. Ferdnand Roda. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with graveside services immediately following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Brad Launius officiating.

Juozas Kiburas, 88, of Hot Springs Village, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011. He was born March 18, 1923 in Lithuania to the late Juozas & Mikalina (Kryzeviciute) Kiburas. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and an artist. Survivors include his wife, of 30 years, Victoria Kiburas of Hot Springs Village; daughter, Dana Larson (Dale) of Yorkville, IL; son, Al Kiburas of Frisco, CO; stepson, Bob Sakalas (Leslie) of Coppell, TX; grandchildren, Evan Larson (Christine), Grace Katherine Sakalas, Isabella Caroline Sakalas, Alex Kiburas and Christopher Kiburas. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am, Friday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with Father Bill Elser officiating.
