EUNEVA POYNOR
Euneva Lucretia Poynor, 77, of Van Buren died Saturday, March 17, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker, a member of Heritage United Methodist Church, a former day-care director for the Methodist Church in Van Buren and Clarksville and a member of the Van Buren Garden Club.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Heritage United Methodist Church in Van Buren with burial of cremains at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Roy Poynor; one daughter, Linda K. Seubold of Roland; two sons, Dr. Roy E. Poynor II of Alma and Robin Poynor of Dallas; two sisters, Eretha McKeever of Greenwood and Minnie Lee DeHart of Pocola; one brother, Marshall Kidd of Alma; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Syble K. Swafford
Syble K. Swafford, 87, of Fort Smith, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, in Van Buren. She was a homemaker and a member of Spradling Baptist Church.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. James Noel Swafford.
She is survived by two daughters, Ann Willhite of Panama City, Fla., and Barbara Lowry of Kerrville, Texas; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Spradling Baptist Church, 3515 Waldron Road, Fort Smith, AR 72904.

Edith Moore
Edith Moore, 99, of Fort Smith died Thursday, March 15, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a retired server at Crain Cafeteria. She attended both Second Presbyterian Church and Grand Avenue Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Denton C. “Dinty” Moore.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Gilson and son-in-law, Sam Gilson of Fort Smith; a son, Jimmy Moore and daughter-in-law, Wanda Moore of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Michael Moore, Patrick Moore and Kelly Moore; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mildred Tanner
Mildred Tanner, 88, of Dallastown, Penn., formerly of Fort Smith, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, in Dallastown. She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church and past vice president of the United Methodist Women, former member of the Old Fort Museum and the Fort Smith Art Center, a former member of Sparks Auxiliary and Sparks Auxiliary volunteer. She was a member of Harmony Chapter 544, Order of the Eastern Star and the United Commercial Travelers Ladies Club. She was a homemaker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Goddard United Methodist Church in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Ardison of York, Penn.; two brothers, Phillip W. Fry Jr. and Richard L. Fry, both of Fort Smith; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Cullen, Phillip and Richard Fry, David Brotherton and Gary and Matthew Ardison.
The family will visit with friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lillian Nichols Daniel
Lillian Nichols Daniel, 95, of Fort Smith died Thursday, March 15, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women’s Circle Deborah. She was a homemaker and retired public school teacher with the Oklahoma Public School System.
Graveside service and burial will be 2 p.m. Monday at Tahlequah (Okla.) City Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Ross Daniel Sr.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann and husband, Leon Woods of Fort Smith; a daughter-in-law, Ramona Daniel of Tahlequah; a niece, Jean Morris Tarver of Lynden, Wash.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Chris A. Coleman
Chris A. Coleman, 34, of Fort Smith died Thursday, March 15, 2001, in Texas. He was a sales representative in the furniture industry, a 1984 graduate of Muldrow High School and was elected Mr. Muldrow High School. He graduated from Northeastern State University with a degree in business administration. He was a founding member of the Downtown Volunteers and a volunteer for the mayor’s Fourth of July Celebration.
The body may be viewed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Muldrow.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in First Assembly of God in Muldrow with burial at Lee’s Chapel Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by special friend, Jamee Hatchette of Fort Smith; one daughter, Kelsey Coleman of Tahlequah; his father, Bill Coleman of Fort Smith; his mother, Glenda Knight of Muldrow; his paternal grandparents, Willie and Edna Coleman of Van Buren; maternal grandparents, Paul and Syble Lee of Muldrow; and one sister, Jamie Sharp of Muldrow.
Pallbearers will be Randall Baker, Brett, Kyle and Todd Butcher, Wally Hays, Kailen Pratt, Judd Maxwell and Berry Tabor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Vest, Loren Rogers, Chad Loughridge, Chris Nelson, Scott Eslinger, Jonathan Sparkman and Kenny Johnson.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ruth V. Moss
Ruth V. Moss, 88, of Fort Smith died Saturday, March 17, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Moss.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Sally and son-in-law, Glenn Thompson of Fort Smith; two sisters, Clara Ritchie and Pearle Kennedy, both of Fort Smith; and a grandchild, Brian Thompson.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Bob Thompson.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, N. 14th St. and Grand Avenue, Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Linda Gayle Beckett
Linda Gayle Beckett, 53, of Greenwood died Thursday, March 15, 2001, in her home. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Christina Marie Eddy.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday in Roberts Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Booneville with burial at Corley Cemetery in Paris.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin; and one sister, Annette Miller of Topeka; and two nieces, Dawn and Amber Miller of Topeka.

NORMA THOMPSON
LITTLE ROCK — Norma C. Thompson, 84, died Friday, March 16, 2001, in a Little Rock nursing home. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Marked Tree and Poinsett County until moving to Little Rock in 1995. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Little Rock. She was elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives in 1981 to serve the remainder of a term of her late husband, W.H. (Bill) Thompson.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Marked Tree Cemetery under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home of Little Rock.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Marie Herdlinger of Sea Island, Ga., and Janet Pierce Berry of Dallas; three sons, William Powell (Bill) Thompson of Fort Smith, Michael Greenwood Thompson of New Orleans and Charles Nicholas (Nick) Thompson of Little Rock; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Little Rock, AR or to Arkansas Hospice, Bldg. 66 R.65, 220 Fort Roots Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72114.

CLARA SNOW
LAMAR — Clara Emma Snow, 84, of Lamar died Friday March 16, 2001, in Little Rock. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Roller Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Reynolds Cemetery in Lamar.
She is survived by four daughters, Linda Novak and Judy Greene, both of Pleasanton, Texas, Stella Pruitt of Derby, Kan., and Barbara Dabney of Mountain View; one sister, Theresa Norcross of Lawrence, Kan.; two brothers, William Loedige of Lamar and Fred Loedige of Mesa, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Philip and Andrew Pruitt, Douglas Sotelo, Gayland Holman, Barry Miles and Eric Heidel.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

KENNETH HATLEY
VAN BUREN — Kenneth Dale Hatley, 57, of Dyer died Saturday, March 17, 2001, in Van Buren. He was a lifelong resident of Dyer and a member of Carpenter’s Local No. 71.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma with burial at Dyer Cmetery.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; one daughter, Angela of Tulsa; four sons, Kenneth of Dyer, Kevin and Christopher, both of Fort Smith, and David of Mulberry; his mother, Martha Hatley of Dyer; three sisters, Wanda Qualls and Donna Turner, both of Fort Smith, and Patricia Mowrey of Dyer; two brothers, Claudie and Ronnie Hatley, both of Fort Smith; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Gale Morse, Matthew Hankins, Joe and Ocie Beckham, Bill Goff and Jerald Medlock.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ROSEMARY STROUD
Rosemary Stroud, 77, of Fort Smith died Friday, March 16, 2001, in a local hospital. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by one son, Louis R. Stroud of Fort Smith; four sisters, Savannah Rutledge, Mildred Brown, Opal Edwards and Loretta Benton, all of Fort Smith; one brother, Oscar J. Newman Jr. of Fort Smith; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 7 p.m. today.

JESSE PERRY
Jesse Lee Perry, 81, of Fort Smith died Friday, March 16, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Van Buren and a retired carpet installer.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by one daughter, Janice Haskins of Fort Smith; one son, David M. Perry of Little Rock; two sisters, Betty Finnegan of Tulsa and Freddie Mae Clark of Cordell, Okla.; and three grandchildren, Alana West, Melanie Ann Cotton and Lydia Elizabeth Perry.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Concord Baptist Church, 6105 Alma Highway, Alma.

EUGENE YUTTERMAN
MULDROW — Eugene Yutterman, 75, of Muldrow died Thursday, March 15 , 2001, in Tulsa. He was a self-employed businessman and a former ironworker for Structural Steel in Fort Smith.
A private graveside service was held Saturday at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; one daughter, Betty McDaniel of Gans; four sisters, Florence Yutterman of Fort Smith, Stella McGrath of St. Louis, Laura Karr of Chico, Calif., and Loretta Meek of Houston; and one granddaughter, Michelle Leach of Roland.

GEORGE BEECHAM
GREENWOOD — George Beecham, 84, of Greenwood died Saturday, March 17, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church, a member of Milltown Lodge No. 605 F&AM, an Army veteran of World War II and was retired from Colonial Bakery.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Dawson Cemetery in Milltown.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline; one daughter, Linda Phillips of Roanoke, Texas; one son, Royce of Fort Smith; one sister, Alta Wagner of Waldron; two bothers, Raymond of Greenwood and Edward of Urich, Mo.; five grandchildren, Kelly Laymon of Springdale, Tim Beecham of San Antonio, Greg Chamblee of Fort Smith, Deana Hampton and Gleana Moss, both of Greenwood; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Don Wiliams, Sam Martin, Charlie McGowen, Richie Grandstaff, Danny Collier and Larry Rogers.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
