Mary Holland
Mary E. Holland, 84, of Fort Smith, formerly of Abbott, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, in a Fort Smith nursing home. She was a homemaker, a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Fort Smith and the Ridgerunners Music Group. She was the widow of John Holland.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday in McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Fort Smith National Cemetery.
She is survived by two sisters, Opal Best of Wilmington, Calif., and Rebecca McIness of Fort Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Bridget Price
TULSA — Bridget Marion Price, 89, of Tulsa died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001. She was a former Dillard’s employee. She was the widow of Clyde Price.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. today in Floral Haven Chapel in Broken Arrow, Okla., with burial at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by two daughters, Martha McGinnis of Tulsa and Maryn Goodson of Bethesda, Md.; a son, Dr. Larry Price of Fort Smith; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Ward
RENDON, Texas — Elizabeth Ann Ward, 64, of Rendon, Texas died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, in her home. She was born March 24, 1937. She was a homemaker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Crosier-Pearson-Mayfied Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Worth, Texas, with burial at Burleson Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband, Roy; two daughters, Kathryn Manning of Weatherford, Texas, and Shirley Stone of Burleson, Texas; three sons, Richard Ward of Mansfield, Texas, Robert Ward of Weatherford, Texas, and Roy Ward Jr. of Arlington, Texas; her mother, Ethel Baker of Fort Smith; a brother, Jim Baker of Fort Smith; and 11 grandchildren.

Jessie Spencer
CLARKSVILLE — Jessie Wayne Spencer, 89, of Clarksville died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, in his home. He was retired from Hiram-Walker Co. and was a saw filer and a Baptist.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mossville Church in Newton County with burial at Mossville Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by a daughter, Dean Grissom of Knoxville; a son, Ray Spencer of Dardanelle; a sister, Mary Edgmon of Jasper; a brother, Jim Spencer of Rogers; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steven Willis, Brad and Dennis Rocole, Jeff Noyes, Ernest Ward, Barry Grissom and Kevin Reynolds.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Chuck Sweet
Dyer C. “Chuck” Sweet, 67, of Van Buren died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, in a Little Rock hospital. He was an Army, Air Force and National Guard veteran and a member of Riverview Fellowship Church in Fort Smith and a Mason.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; a daughter, Rhonda Hook of Fort Smith; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Miller of Austin, Texas; three stepsons, Timothy Hill of Texarkana, Texas, Terence Hill of Van Buren and Jeffrey Hill of Norman, Okla.; a sister, JoAnn Raybuck of Pennsylvania; a brother, Richard Sweet of Kent, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Klomfas, Sam Miller, Timothy Hill, Sid Coker, Kenneth Hendrick and Gilbert Riddle.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jessie Russell
WITCHERVILLE — Jessie M. Dowdy Russell, 100, of Witcherville died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, in her home. She graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia and was a retired elementary teacher and a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Roland.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Lovelace Cemetery in Witcherville.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Iris Severe of Midland, Texas; a stepson, Bill Russell of Sugarland, Texas; a brother, James “Gene” Dowdy of Roland; and seven stepgrandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Glen and Steven Davis, James, Donnie and Billy Dowdy and Carl Albertson.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Sister Antonia Lutz
Sister Antonia Lutz, 68, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, in Fort Smith. She made her profession on June 24, 1954, and served as a school teacher in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
Vespers will be 7 p.m. today in St. Scholastica Monastery Chapel in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Scholastica Monastery Chapel with burial at St. Scholastica Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Luella Powell of Amarillo, Texas; five brothers, Jimmy Lutz of Pocola, Ben Lutz of Elmore City, Okla., Bill Lutz of Fort Smith, John Lutz of Apopka, Fla., and Herman Lutz of Lake Wales, Fla.

Kenneth Wallis
Kenneth Tracy Wallis, 45, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a forklift operator for Braden Inc.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
He is survived by two daughters, Tracy Wallis of Auburn, Wash., and Autumn Wallis of Oregon; his mother, June Peters of La Puente, Calif.; two sisters, Donna Garrison and Julie Parker, both of Coal Hill; three brothers, Terry of Oroville, Calif., Tom of Fontana, Calif., and George of Oceanside, Calif.

Richard Harding
MOUNTAINBURG — Richard C. Harding, 68, of Mountainburg died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, in his home. He was a retired line worker with Rheem Manufacturing Co. and attended Mountainburg Presbyterian Church.
Memorial service and burial of cremains will be 1 p.m. Thursday at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; three daughters, Kathleen Beatty of Chino, Calif., Jessica Harding of Mountainburg and Eve Sims of Uniontown; two sons, Don Harding of Simi Valley, Calif., and Josh Harding of Oklahoma; and four grandchildren.

Clifford Landes
MULDROW — Clifford C. Landes, 90, of Muldrow died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was a retired horse and cattle rancher and a member of Victory Baptist Church in Long. He was the widower of Pauline Laura Landes.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Muldrow with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Muldrow.
He is survived by several cousins and his adopted family, Mrs. Dalton Henson, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Henson and Mr. and Mrs. John Storey, all of Muldrow.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Michael Clennon
Michael Stewart Clennon, 51, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, in his home. He was born in West Plains, Mo., and moved to Fort Smith in 1965. He graduated from St. Anne’s Academy in 1968. He was a retired senior master sergeant from the Air Force, where he served 24 years. He was the widower of Monica Reith Clennon.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. today in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith.
Mass will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The body will be cremated.
He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Clennon of Jacksonville; a son, Jeremiah Clennon of Arkadelphia; two stepsons, Travis Inselman of Enid, Okla., and Robert Chase Inselman of the home; his mother, Elsie M. Clennon of Fort Smith; two sisters, Sherry Jean Lincks of Van Buren and Billie Rae Mitcham of Cookson, Okla.
Pallbearers will be members of the military honor guard.

Stanley Wessel
Stanley Joseph Wessel, 78, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, in a Fort Smith nursing home. He was a rolling mill operator for U.S. Steel, a member of River Valley Golf Association and AF&L Steel Workers Union.
No services will be held. His body was donated to medical science. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife; Pearl; a sister, Wilma Fierman of Cleveland; a sister-in-law, Kay Wessel of Tuson, Ariz.; and two nieces and two nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation or Methodist Nursing Home or charity of donor’s choice.

Carol Apple Trotter
Carol Apple Trotter, 59, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a retired administrative supervisor for R.A. Young & Son and a homemaker.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Trotter of the home; two sisters, Laura Avants and Alice Moore, both of Tulsa; four brothers, E.Q. Apple Jr. of Harrell, Gordon Apple of Booneville, Ronnie Apple of Fort Smith and Bruce Apple of Tillamook, Ore.; a niece, Rhonda Shade of Van Buren; a nephew, Ronnie Apple Jr. of Fayetteville; and several other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Parker, Jessee Seal, Ronnie Apple Jr., Glenn Bryd, Gale Autry and John Casey.

Vernita Wilson
Vernita Wilson, 73, of Van Buren died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Edwards Van-Alma Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; four daughters, Linda Astre of Fort Smith, Lisa Gist and Lori Sprenger, both of Van Buren, and Leslie Miller of Alma; two sisters, Donna Eads and Dotey Paslay, both of St. Joseph, Mo.; five brothers, Bob and Charlie Pryor, both of St. Joseph, Mo., Virgil Pryor of Filmore, Mo., Bill Pryor of Creston, Iowa, and Ronnie Pryor of Savannah, Mo.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charles, Randall and Steven Astre, Gary Kent Miller, Johnny Gist and Albert Paslay.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage United Methodist Church in Van Buren.
