OZARK — Kenneth Ray “Kenny” Skinner, 50, of Ozark died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, in a Little Rock hospital. He was born Nov. 6, 1951, in Little Rock. He was a self-employed carpenter and of the Pentecostal faith.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Mount View Cemetery in Ozark.
He is survived by his wife, Melba; his parents, Cloy and Earline Ryan Skinner of Altus; three sisters, Sheila Julian of Ozark and Vanessa Hawkins and Wendy Shepherd, both of Altus; a brother, Allen Skinner of Perryville; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Acord, George Nichols, Danny Hawkins, Michael Durning, Michael Post and Jim Ryan.

Carter Young
Carter Delbert Young, 82, of Van Buren died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, in his home. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Napa Masonic Lodge and a Baptist.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with Masonic graveside service at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl; a son, William Ray Young of Napa, Calif.; five stepsons, Michael Wayne Samples and David Lee Peters, both of Van Buren, Jerry Wayne and Robert Clayton Peters, both of Fort Smith and Ron Peters of Russellville; a brother, Cecil Young of Van Buren; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Michael Wayne Samples, David Lee Peters, Robert Clayton Peters, Jerry Wayne Peters and Ron and Nick Peters.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Flora Smith
WATSON, Okla. — Flora May Smith, 93, of Watston, Okla., died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, in Mena. She was born Dec. 30, 1908, in Watson, Okla. She worked at Renova Shirt Factory, a member of Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church and was the widow of Claud Smith.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Waston with burial at Watson Cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home in Mena.
She is survived by son, Hoyt J. Smith of Hurst, Texas; three sisters, Ina Bohannon of Edmond, Okla., Sylvia Bertwell of Guthrie, Okla., and Lydia Craig of Modesto, Calif.; a brother, Odell Huff of Kent, Wash.; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Eric Shropshire
YEMASSEE, S.C. — Eric Shropshire, 28, of Yemassee, S.C., formerly of Fort Gibson, Okla., died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, in Walterboro, S.C. He was born Jan. 10, 1974, in Sallisaw. He served in the Marine Corps as a drill instructor for 10 years and was a Baptist.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Okla., with military honors provided by the Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry; a daughter, Elizabeth Lynn Shropshire of Fort Gibson, Okla.; his parents, the Rev. Tommy and Cheryl Shropshire of Gore; two brothers, Michael Shropshire of McAlester, Okla., and Billy Shropshire of Del City, Okla.; paternal grandmother, Audra Blankenship of Sallisaw; maternal grandparents, Sam and Lois Davidson of Melbourne, Ky.
Pallbearers will be Billy and Michael Shropshire and Garren Chambers
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Stella Duty
NICUT COMMUNITY — Stella Mae Duty, 92, of Nicut Community died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was born May 15, 1910, in Oakdale. She was a homemaker and of the Assembly of God faith. She was the widow of Albert Franklin “Bert” Duty.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Lee Creek Assembly of God north of Muldrow with burial at Seabolt Cemetery north of Muldrow under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.
She is survived by five daughters, Marzene McKenzie and Linda Tate, both of Gateway, Wilma Hall of Roland, Glorene Case of Bentonville and Patricia Harley of Nicut Community; two sons, Earl Dean Duty of Roland and Harolene Duty of Muldrow; three sisters, Dovie Hobs, Hazel Gertman and Goldie Alexander, all of California; 17 grandchildren, 27, great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie and Chris McKenzie, Earl and Eric Duty, Johnny Sanders, Billy Tate and Michael Clay.

A.E. Lenington
SALLISAW — A.E. “Gene” Lenington, 77, of Sallisaw died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was born June 9, 1925, in Fort Smith. He was a farmer, carpenter, construction contractor, an Army veteran of World War II and of the Assembly of God faith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw.
He is survived by three daughters, Pam Wallace of Muldrow, Brenda Thomas of Sallisaw and Karen Real of Fort Worth, Texas; a son, Eric Lenington of Tulsa; two sisters, Clara Knight of Siloam Springs and Wanda West of Sallisaw; a brother, John Lenington of Sallisaw; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Monty, Todd, Ken and Monty Lenington Jr.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Treaciel Coleman
Treaciel W. Coleman, 88, of Fort Smith died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Temple Baptist Church with burial at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Nordin of Fort Smith and Janie Ford of Parkville, Mo.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mark Villines
ALMA — Mark Villines, 41, of Alma died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, in a local hospital. He was born March 15, 1961, in Fort Smith. He was a manager of EZ Mart in Fort Smith and a member of Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church in Fort Smith with a 4 p.m. graveside service at Coil Cemetery in Winslow under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his mother, Cherry Janet Villines of Alma; a sister, Shelly Loomis of Alma; and two brothers, James of Alma and Kenneth of Victora, Canada.
Pallbearers will be Gary Brooks, Mike Powers, Terry Flanagan, Daniel Strite and Chuck and Tommy Clemmons Jr.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Magdalene A. Kremers
Magdalene A. Kremers, 83, of New Blaine died Thursday, April 25, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a retired nurse, a member of St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Shoal Creek and St. Anne’s Altar Society in New Blaine. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna Friga Schulte, her sisters, Caroline Ebbing and Angie Means and brothers, Ben, John, Allie and Frank Schulte Jr.
Rosary service will be 6:30 p.m. today at St. Scholastic Catholic Church in Shoal Creek, New Blaine.
Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Scholastica Catholic Church Shoal Creek, New Blaine with burial at St. Scholastica Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Margie and Joe Hart of New Blaine, Janice and Artie Berry, Nancy and Mike Udouj and Kim and Nick Borengasser, all of Fort Smith; a son and daughter-in-law, Ernie and Sandy Kremers of Strafford, Mo.; a sister, Mildred Trent of New Blaine; a brother, Lawrence Schulte of New Blaine; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ken and Chris Hart, Don Bearden, John Mendenhall, Charlie Sparks, Stanley Schulte, Keith Frein and Steve Cannon.

Lorena Mae Kuykendall
Lorena Mae Kuykendall, 72, of Alma died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Alma and past Worthy Matron for Order of Eastern Star.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Alma with burial at Alma City Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Jewel Don Kuykendall; two sons, Gary Don and Janice Kuykendall of McAllen, Texas and Robin and Sherri Kuykendall of Mountainburg; a sister, Laura and Don Watson of Stuttgart; two brothers, Don and Shirley Spillman of Van Buren and Clifton Spillman of Bellevue, Wash.; four grandchildren, Shawn and Crystal Kuykendall, Lindsey and Chris Dodds, Ashleigh and Blake Kuykendall and one great-grandchild, Adrie Elizabeth Dodds; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be DeWayne and Ronnie Hanna, Tommy and Bill Leverette, James and Don Adams, Jerry Osborne and Randy Deleat.

S. Douglas Beel
S. Douglas Beel, 68, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and he attended the First United Methodist Church in Ozark. He was a retired newspaper publisher for the Columbia Daily Herald in Columbia, Tenn., a former general manager of the Southwest Times Record and a former member of the Rotary Club in Columbia, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Francis Beel.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4100 Grand Avenue in Fort Smith with burial at Morgan Hill Cemetery in Ozark under the directions of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Melba J. Beel of the home; a daughter, Roxanne Stouffer of Fort Smith; two stepdaughters, Pat Wattam of Baton Rouge, La., and Phoebe Jones of Austin, Ark.; a stepson, Hudson Jones of North Little Rock; his mother, Myrtle Mae Beel of Ozark; a sister, Wilma Long of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Nicole Fletcher of Fort Smith and Sarah Stouffer of Fayetteville; two stepgranddaughters, Laura Cagle of Ozark and Sara Jones of North Little Rock; two great-grandchildren, Caleigh Fletcher and Justin Franklin.
Pallbearers will be Joe Couch, Leo Seal, Cecil Garner, Oakie Boyd, Randy Cole and Johnny Barham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ruley Sutton, Floyd Hamm and Larry Thomas.

Marie Daniels
NEOSHO, MO. — Marie A. Daniels, of Neosho, Mo., died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, in Neosho. She was born Dec. 15, 1911, in Diamond, Mo. She was a homemaker and active in 4-H, Widow to Widow, past secretary of the Newton County Senior Citizens and OATS. She was the widow of Harvey Duke Daniels.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hilldale Baptist Church in Neosho with burial at Kenney Cemetery under the direction of Clark Funeral Home of Neosho, Mo.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Embrey of Neosho, Mo., Elin Finley of Powell, Mo., and Alice Williams of Burlington, Kan.; two sons, Kenneth Daniels of Neosho, Mo., and Don Daniels of Muldrow; a sister, Wanda Rinehart of Wichita, Kan.; a brother, Niles Gillmore of Neosho, Mo.; 22 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The body may be viewed from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

L.C. Sanderson
PINEVILLE, La. — L.C. “Sam” Sanderson, 86, of Pineville, La., formerly of Mena died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, in Louisiana. He was born Jan. 29, 1916, in Cabot. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a 32nd degree Mason, a timber manager in the forestry industry and a member of First Baptist Church in Mena. He was the widower of Helen Nellie McGeorge Sanderson.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Mena with burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
He is survived by a daughter, Elinor Barnett of Pineville, La.; two sisters, Dorothy Shockley of DeQueen and Gean Williams of Gainesville, Ga.; three grandchildren, Gary Barnett and Donna Vincik, both of Pineville, La., and Cindy Brantley of Huntsville, Ala., and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bill Plunkett, Lee Gandy, Tommy Cook, Bill Patterson, Dean Nail, Lewis Waters and Barney Sherrer.

Jeryl Owens
GULF BREEZE, Fla. — Jeryl Wayne Owens, 53, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., formerly of Mena, died Thursday, April 18, 2002, in Florida. He was born May 21, 1948, in Mena. He was a sales representative of Mincon Drilling Company and was of the Catholic faith.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Salem Baptist Church under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
He is survived by his wife, Sara; a daughter, Madison Owens of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; his mother, Jerry Titsworth Owens of Mena; two sisters, Melissa Redding of Mena and Julie Hammond of Boulder City, Nev.; and three brothers, Donny, Dennis and Frankie Owens, all of Mena.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
