Conrad Robinson
Conrad “C.J.” Robinson, 76, of Fort Smith died Saturday, May 11, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a veteran of World War II and an employee for the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church with burial at 10 a.m. at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by a daughter, Lettie of Fort Smith; three sons, Conrad and Bruce of Los Angeles and Drew of Paris; his mother, Gertrude Smith of Fort Smith; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be George Dumas, Edward James, Ben Brown, Ira Harris and Harvey Lee.
Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Shiloh Baptist Church.
The family will visit with friends at 2200 N. 33rd St.

Lovie Williams
PALMDALE, Calif. — Lovie O’Neal Williams, 83, of California, formerly of Fort Smith, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, in Palmdale. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School class of 1936 and a member of Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church in California.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Ninth Street Baptist Church with burial at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by four daughters, Hazel Powns of Palmdale, Calif., Ollie Williams of Fresno, Calif., Bonita Morris of Roland and Cathy Wilson of Fort Smith; two sons, Frank Douglas and Clarence Williams, both of Fort Smith; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Leon Thompson, James Morgan, Michael Sanders, Donald Toran, Robert Thomas and Don Carter Jr.
The body may be viewed noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family will visit with friends at 823 N. Seventh St.

Elaine Smith
OZONE — Elaine Louise Smith, 58, of Ozone died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, in her home. She was a member of Mount Vernon Extension Homemakers and the Ozone Full Gospel Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Russell Cemetery in Ozone.
She is survived by her husband, Al; her father and stepmother, Paul and Romaine Weaver of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Lois Duncan of Alaska and Pat Brownelwell of Pennsylvania; and five brothers, Robert, Don and Dan Weaver, all of Pennsylvania, Mike Weaver of Tennessee and Jim Weaver of Alaska.

Wilma Clark
KATY, Texas — Wilma Bach Clark, 81, of Katy, Texas, formerly of Gore and Muskogee, Okla., died May 24, 2002, in Katy, Texas. She was born July 11, 1920, in Covington, Okla. She graduated from St. Anthony’s High School in Okmulgee and graduated from St. John’s School of Nursing in Tulsa. She was the widow of Thomas Clark.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Webbers Falls, Okla., with burial at Garden of Memories in Vian under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Judy of Katy, Texas; four sons, Mike of Long Island, N.Y., Steve of New York City, Dennis of Littleton, Colo. and Paul of Arlington, Va.; five grandchildren, Erik and Sean Clark, Stephanie Fong and Derek and Justin Smith; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike, Steve, Dennis and Paul Clark and Gray and Derek Smith.

Eveline Lowery
POCOLA — Eveline “Liza” Lowery, 87, of Pocola died Monday, May 27, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was born Jan. 6, 1915, in Midland. She was a homemaker and a member of Christian Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Pocola.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Christian Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Pocola with burial at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Pocola.
She is survived by three daughters, Maelene Goins and Leta Farmer, both of Pocola, and Linda Rogers of Yakima, Wash.; two sons, Rayford and Robert Lowery Jr., both of Pocola; a sister, Effie Minks of Pocola; a brother, A.J. Barnes of Pocola; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Carol Barnes, Wayne Minks, Don Goins, Dale Elmore, George A. Davis and Danny Farmer.

Ora Smith
Ora “Peggy” Barefield Smith, 86, of Fort Smith, formerly of Bruce, Miss., died Monday, May 27, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born Jan. 12, 1916. She was a homemaker and a member of White Oak Assembly of God in White Oak, Texas. She was the widow of Troy Barefield and Roby Smith.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Bruce Cemetery in Bruce, Miss., under the direction of Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce, Miss.
She is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Muncie of Roland and Pearl Harrison of Gladewater, Texas; three sisters, Edna MCloud of Lucedale, Miss., Tula Robertson of Mount Pleasant, Texas, and Imogene Ticer of Elizabethtown, Ky.; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy, D.R., Bud, Jeff, Jason and Colon Barefield.

Isabel Ray
MENA — Isabel Sue Ray, 86, of Mena died Monday, May 27, 2002, in Mena. She was born May 23, 1916, in Gertie, Okla. She was a homemaker and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, AARP, the Polk County Convention Singers and Mena Senior Citizens Center. She was the widow of J.C. Ray.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at First Free Will Baptist Church in Mena with burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of Bealey-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
She is survived by two daughters, Lennis Sue Westmoreland of Mena and Sharon Jewell of Hatfield; a son, Romie Ray of DeQueen; a sister, June Emry of Board Camp; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchlldren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Allen Stewart, Keith Ray, Jimmy Holman, Shirley Sirmon, Terry Davis and Freed Salter.

Glen Clark
Glen Clark, 59, of Fort Smith died Monday, May 27, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born March 6, 1943, in Sebastian County. He was a laundry attendant for Queen’s Palace Laundramat in Fort Smith and a member of Goddard United Methodist Church in Fort Smith.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Nixon Cemetery in Charleston under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
He is survived by two sisters, Sue Miller of Muldrow and Connie Earls of Arkoma; three brothers, John and Bill Clark, both of Fort Smith, and Mack Clark of Barling; and several nieces and nephews.
The body may be viewed beginning at noon today.

William Faulkner
GANS — William “Bud” Faulkner, 71, of Gans died Sunday, May 26, 2002, in Fort Smith.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Cottonwood Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; two daughters, Marianne Davis of San Diego and Debra Gregory of Roland; three sons, Bill Faulkner Jr. of Hollister, Calif., Gerald Gregory of Pampa, Texas, and David Faulkner of Golden, Colo.; three sisters, Willie Nelson of Holtville, Calif., Mildren Tubia of Frankfurt, N.Y., and Maudie Knox of Austin, Texas; a brother, Bobby Faulkner of Fort Smith; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Maxine Duty
Maxine Mildred Duty, 79, of Van Buren died Monday, May 27, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was born July 14, 1922, in Wichita, Kan. She was a homemaker and retired from St. Edward Mercy Medical Center cafeteria and a member of Oak Cliff Baptist Church in Fort Smith. She was the widow of Henry Duty.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Muldrow with burial at Seabolt Cemetery northeast of Muldrow.
She is survived by a daughter, Carroll Huggins of Hackett; six grandchildren, Tracy Duty, Jonathan and David Reese, all of Fort Smith, Wendy Oliva of Hackett, Trinity Bardin of Mesa, Ariz., and Angela Collins of Barling; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Lucile Dawson
Lucile Dawson, 92, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a retired seamstress for Tucker Duck and Rubber and a member of Oak Cliff Baptist Church in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Oak Cliff Baptist Church with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Dale Dawson of Fort Smith and Arthur Dawson of Somerset, Ky.; a sister, Clarissa Timmons of West Fork; five grandchildren, Preston Williams, Daniel and Amanda Dawson, Chandra Martin and Karen Reed; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the home of Dale Dawson.

Lonnie Wallace
Lonnie Lee Wallace, 64, of Fort Smith died Monday, May 27, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, D.A.V., American Legion and the VFW.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by a daughter, Christi D. Javana of Ocean View, Calif.; two sons, Ricci Wallace of Port Angelo, Wash., and William Wallace of Hackett; his father, L.J. Wallace of Van Buren; a sister, Rose Ann Pena of Liberty; a brother, Ronald E. Wallace of Liberty; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John and Casey Pena, Cecil Duty, John Ross, Wade Riggs and Lester Wallace Jr.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

George Goodfellow
George F. Goodfellow, 79, of Fort Smith died Monday, May 27, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was a retired parts and service manager for Rheem Manufacturing Company for more than 45 years, a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hardscrabble Country Club, Delta Kappa Epsilon and a graduate of University of California at Berkeley.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church with burial of cremains at First Presbyterian Columbarium under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; a daughter, Carol Ann Jordan of Issaquah, Wash.; two sons, Donald Goodfellow of Simpsonville, S.C., and Robert Goodfellow of Fort Smith; a sister, Elsie Schacht of Walnut Creek, Calif.; five grandchildren, Katy Rebar of Seattle, Chris Jordan of Issaquah, Wash., Matt Goodfellow of Fairview, Ore., Dana Goodfellow of Simpsonville, S.C., and Greyson Goodfellow of Fort Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 116 North 12th St., Fort Smith, AR 72901 or charity of donor’s choice.

Dr. Robert Thompson
Dr. Robert J. Thompson, 80, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was a retired physician for Thompson and Thompson P.A., a member of First United Methodist Church, the American Medical Association, Arkansas Medical Society and Sebastian County Medical Society, the American Academy of Family Practice. He was chief of staff of both St. Edwards Mercy Medical Center and Sparks Regional Medical Center, past president of Sebastian County Medical Society, an assistant professor at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock and was a veteran of World War II.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist sanctuary with burial of cremains at First United Methodist Church Columbium.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Diane Manering of Orangevale, Calif., and Barbara Karber of Lavaca; a sister, Mary Minta Thompson of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Kelsey, Stan and John Karber, all of Lavaca, Ryan McAlllister of Nebraska and Lauren Barrera of San Diego; and two great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Gleaners Sunday school class.
The family will visit with friends after the service in the parlor of First United Methodist Church.

Martin E. Hoyt Sr.
Martin E. Hoyt Sr., 72, of Fort Smith died Monday, May 27, 2002, in Greenwood. He was retired from the Army, a purchasing agent for St. Edward Mercy Medical Center and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josepha Hoyt.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. today at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith.
Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial and military honors at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by a daughter, Joanne Gomez of Newton, Kan.; a son, Martin E. Hoyt Jr. of Lavaca; a sister, Phyllis Fisher of Marion, Ind.; two brothers, Edward Hoyt of Marion, Ind. and Paul Hoyt of Bluffton, Ind.; nine grandchildren, Justin and Zachary Hoyt, Robby, Christie, Jamie, Kelly, Cory and Jacy Gomez and Sherry Penner.
Pallbearers will be Robby Gomez, Bill Morgan, LeRoy Brown, Mike and Richard DeLong and Kevin Peoples.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church Building Fund, 1820 North B St., Fort Smith, AR 72901.
