Zona Poteet Page, 87, of Magazine died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, in Paris. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Magazine and the Blue Mountain Extension Club. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Burt, Leonard and Hobart Poteet.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Magazine with burial at Bluff View Cemetery in Magazine under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Booneville.
She is survived by her husband, Cline E. Page; two daughters, Betty Page and Peggy Page Hopkins, both of Magazine; a sister, Mary Poteet of Cauthersville, Mo.; two brothers, Glenn Poteet of Tulsa and Clarence Poteet of Steele, Mo.; three grandchildren and spouses, Michael and Kathy Hopkins of Alamogordo, N.M., Melissa and Tom Fetner of Fayetteville and Chris and Jennifer Hopkins of League City, Texas; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael and Christopher Hopkins and Tom Fetner; great-grandsons, Steven and Daniel Hopkins and Thomas Fetner.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church in Magazine.

Goldie B. Carney
Goldie B. Carney, 80, of Rudy died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Kenner Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Alma.
She is survived by her husband, Grover of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Tommy Wilson of Alma; a son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Karen Carney of Rudy; four sisters, Bessie Alexander of Alma, Deanie Downs of Van Buren, June Dillon of Rudy and Tena Vetch of Fort Smith; three brothers, the Rev. Everett Smith and Steve Smith, both of Alma, and Melvin Smith of Poteau; three grandchildren, Kristy Hewitt of Van Buren, Kellie Lehr of Tunston, Calif., and Brian Carney of Maumelle; and two great-grandchildren, Stormy and Alec Hewitt, both of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Danny and Larry Alexander, Leo Yanda, Paul Flanagan, Doug Wilson, Johnny Howard, Dewayne Jones and Buddy Wayne Burkhart.
Honorary pallbearers will be former pastors and deacons of Kenner Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

Edna McCarley
Edna McCarley, 63, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 6, 1939, in Kingston, N.Y. She was a sales clerk for the Coach House for 15 years and a member of Pentecostal Church of God.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Eric Karlsson of Van Buren; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Kenneth and Sandra of Van Buren and Tony and Heather of Fort Smith; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Josh Wagoner, Shawn Lamont, Joey Moore, Randy Roper, Scott Klomfas and Brian Taff.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Marsha Gail Shoppach
Marsha Gail Shoppach, 66, of Fort Smith died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, in her home. She was born Aug. 16, 1936, in Hot Springs. She was a retired elementary teacher after 33 years of service for the Fort Smith Public School System, a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church, the Jolly Travelers of Grand Avenue, helped start the Helping Hands Ministry at Grand Avenue Baptist Church and a member of U.M.W. of Grand Avenue Baptist, was awarded outstanding Citizen of the State of Arkansas in 1980 and completed Session 99-2 Citizens Police Academy.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Grand Avenue Baptist Church with burial at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Shirley Shoppach of Fort Smith; one niece, Sabrina and husband, Darren Huckey of Mayflower; one nephew, Steven and wife, Farrah Shoppach of Fort Smith; one great-nephew, Kaleb Huckey of Mayflower.
Pallbearers will be Bill Freeman, Darren Huckey, Steven Shoppach, Jim Snuggs, Barry Takei and Paul Williams.

Lawrence Patrick
CLAREMORE, Okla. — Lawrence Everett Patrick, 74, of Claremore, Okla., died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, in Claremore. He was born Aug. 11, 1928, in Jenks, Okla. He was a graduate of Huntsville High School, employed by Gulf Service station and an Army veteran of the Korean War, worked for McDonnell Douglas in Tulsa, owned Pat’s Drive-In in Claremore, Okla., later expanded to Apco Service Station and Pat’s Car Wash, later built Pat’s Restaurant, was a member of Blue Starr Church of Christ and the widower of Joanne Patrick.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rice Funeral Service Chapel of the Garden in Claremore, Okla., with graveside service at 3:30 p.m. at Combs Cemetery in Combs.
He is survived by two daughters, Laura Niedecker of Van Buren and DeAnna Davis of Tulsa; a son, Joel Patrick of Tulsa; a sister, Helen Colson of Lewellen, Neb.; two brothers, J.L. Patrick of Springdale and Richard Patrick of Claremore, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Katherine Hubbard
Katherine E. Hubbard, 91, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith, a graduate of the University of Missouri, the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and the widow of Charles T. Hubbard.
A private graveside service will be for family only at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Harriet K. Renner of Tyler, Texas; two sons, David T. and Charles G. Hubbard, both of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 116 N. 12th St., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Rita Blasingame
Rita Gaye Blasingame, 43, of Fort Smith, formerly of Van Buren, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, in a local hospital. She was a member of Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church in Van Buren, the Westark and Bond Special Riding Clubs, past president of Tate Elementary School PTA and a lifetime member of Sertoma Club.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; a daughter, Kendra Renee Blasingame of the home; a son, Billy Chad Blasingame of the home; two sisters, Karen Stem of Alma and Becky Guyton of Van Buren; her grandmother, Wanda Bryant of Kibler.
Pallbearers will be Houston Southerland, Casey Estep, Justin Nichols, Richard Smith, Jeremy Osbourne and Chad Scott.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Marie Nichols
Marie Nichols, 64, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a retired LPN after 40 years of service at Sparks Regional Medical Center and a member of the Heritage Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Heritage Baptist Church with burial at Cross Cemetery in Greenwood under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by eight sisters, Deana Smith of Aberdeen, Miss., Mae Barner of Russellville, Zenea Lockwood of Roland, Faye Durham and Mary Hurst, both of Fort Smith, Opal Jordan and Sharon Highfill, both of Ozark and Helen Emberton of Chester; three brothers, C.J. “Junior,” Harlin B. and Don Nichols, all of Ozark.
Pallbearers will be Calvin, Myron and Lance Lockwood, Andy and Terry Highfill and Lloyd Riggs.

James Baxter
SPIRO — James Baxter, 63, of Spiro died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, in Spiro. He was a member of the NRA.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro with burial at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; two sons, James Edward and Ronald Gene Baxter, both of Spiro; his mother, Jeanie Baxter of Spiro; a sister, Hazel Baxter of Spiro; a brother, H.C. Baxter of Spiro; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be J.L. Williams, H.B. Hayes, Matthew Owens, Jack Taylor, Lynn Elders and Kenneth Hargis.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Clifford Shadd Sr.
CHECOTAH, Okla. — Clifford J. Shadd Sr., 88, of Checotah, Okla., died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002. He was a retired maintenance worker for the Phoenix School Systems.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Checotah, Okla. with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Jerry Burney
Jerry Wayne Burney, 71, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, in a local hospital. He was born April 20, 1931, in Iowa Park, Texas. He was a retired oil field driller, a Marine veteran of the Korean War, a member of Community Bible Church and the American Legion Post No. 31.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Joy; a daughter, Deborah Button of Azle, Texas; a son, Brett Burney of Abilene, Texas; a stepdaughter, Monica Crain of Fort Smith; a stepson, Michael Crain of Fort Smith; his stepmother, Wanna Burney of Wichita Falls, Texas; a sister, Bebe “Babe” Hummel of Wichita Falls, Texas; a half sister, Dianna Crowe of Wichita Falls, Texas; two half brothers, Daryl and Michael Burney, both of Wichita Falls, Texas; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.

John Bell
John David Bell, 80, of Fort Smith died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, in his home. He was a member of Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and trustee, past president of Antioch District Consolidated Singing Convention, chairman of Offering of Others Committee, president of adult choir and Sunday school superintendent, a retired chef serving 27 years at the Boston Store, a Mason with membership in E.O. Trent Consistory No. 233 and Shady Grove Lodge No. 28.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with Masonic graveside services at Washington Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; a daughter, Karen Patterson Crump of Lawrence, Kan.; a son, David Allen Bell of Fort Smith; a sister, Lavada Sopshire of Van Buren; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Springs, John Poole, Chris Chappell, Wyman Jones, Keith Bell and Ted Cheatum.
Honorary pallbearers will be Masons.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church with Masonic House of Kadosh services at 7 p.m.

Velma Sehorn
Velma Sehorn, 87, of Van Buren died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and the widow of Amos Sehorn.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by two daughters, Margie Sehorn of Alma and Emily White of California; a son, Richard Sehorn of Van Buren; a sister, Rosa Lee Seabolt of Rudy; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jason and Richard Sehorn Jr., Otis and B.J. Thompson, Allen Edgar and Eddie Bennett.

William Sherrill
MENA — William R. Sherrill, 68, of Mena died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, in Mena. He was born May 28, 1934, in Mena. He was born May 28, 1934, in Mena. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, a carpenter and chicken farmer and a member of Dallas Avenue Baptist Church.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. today at Faith Missionary Baptist Church. The body was sent for cremation under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; a daughter, Mona Davis of Mena; two sons, Joe Sherrill of Plumerville and Eric “Pistol” Sherrill of Mena; a sister, Nancy Moore of Ruston, La.; a brother, Curtis Sherrill of Ruston, La.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Louise Reeder
SALLISAW — Louise Reeder, 69, Sallisaw died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, in Sallisaw. She was born July 26, 1933, in Sequoyah County. She was a home health aide and attended Akins Assembly of God.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Akins Assembly of God with burial at Akins Cemetery northeast of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by two daughters, Georgia Louise Long of Mountain Pine and Barbara Ann White of Sallisaw; two sons, Jerry Hartsell of Holly Grove and Eugene Hartsell of Sallisaw; three sisters, Juanita Bryant and Thelma Curry, both of Sallisaw, and Betty Lazarkiewiz of Arizona; five brothers, Francis Jackson of Modesto, Calif., Keith Jackson of Stigler, Billy Jackson of Muldrow, Edward Jackson of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Donald Jackson of Sallisaw; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
