Moore

STUTTGART -- Edward Lee Moore, 79, of Stuttgart, formerly of Jonesboro, died Monday, Feb. 7, at Baptist Medical Center of Little Rock.

Born at Sheridan, he graduated from Sheridan High School and served in the Navy during World War II. He graduated from Hendrix College, where he played football, and worked at the former Arkansas Rice Cooperative in Stuttgart. He was part owner of Smith's Feed Mill in Jonesboro and retired in 1991 from Riceland Foods in Stuttgart.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Stuttgart, where he served on the administrative council and the usher committee.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Sadler Moore; four daughters, Lee Green of Stuttgart, Lynn Runnels of Bentonville, Kay Bridges of Statesville, N.C., and Beth Voss of Benton, La.; and eight grandchildren, Jennifer Green Poston of St. Charles, Rebecca Runnels Crotts of Bentonville, Lindsey Runnels Crafton of Paragould, Carolyn Bridges, Ashley Bridges and Alex Bridges, all of North Carolina, and Travis Voss and Catherine Voss, both of Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton A. and Abbie Lee Moore.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Stuttgart, with Fred Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Tree Cemetery under the direction of Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Stuttgart or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Presley

TRUMANN -- James Elbert "Bulldog" Presley, 80, of Trumann died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at his residence.

A native and lifetime resident of the Trumann area, he was a retired maintenance supervisor for Great Dane Trailers and a member of Trumann Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include six daughters, Ann Owens, Marsha Mars, Linda Gregory and Karen Gregory, all of Trumann, Shelia Haggerty of Toledo, Ohio, and Geraldine Barnes of Marked Tree; three sons, Bobby Gene Presley of Jonesboro, George Presley of Trumann and Jimmy Presley of Proctor; four sisters, Hazel Smith, Florence Tolbert and Frances Cox, all of Trumann, and Nancy Marie Harrison of Cherokee Village; four brothers, Harold Presley of Cherokee Village, Raymond Presley of Memphis and A.W. Presley and Marvin Presley, both of Trumann; 25 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Presley; a son, James "Bud" Presley; his parents, Jessie Caswell and Louvie Mae Bradley Presley; three brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann, with the Rev. Miles Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry Vaughn, Larry Gregory, William Gregory, Jimbo Presley, David Gregory, Eric Presley, Michael Gann, Matthew Barnes, Marty Wayne Brooks, Scott Presley, Earl J. Owens, little David Gregory, Randy Hunter, Joey Haggerty and Shannon Owens.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Roberts

OSCEOLA -- Sally Lou Roberts, 82, of Osceola died Monday, Feb. 7, at St. Bernard's Medical Center at Jonesboro.

Born at Wilson, she was a homemaker and member of First Christian Church of Osceola, where she was a member of the Women's Fellowship.

Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Shields of Rogers; one son, Charles W. George of Peoria, Ariz.; one brother, John P. Newsom of Marion; and five grandchildren, Stacey Bingham of Morrilton, Joel W. Howard Jr. of Fayetteville, Sally Griffin of Munford, Tenn., Lisa Stillman of Phoenix and Stephanie George of Peoria; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Roberts; her parents, James Newsom and Lola Bell Clayton; one sister; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola, with Jim Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens at Osceola.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Stanfield

LITTLE ROCK -- Robert Wayne "Bob" Stanfield, 58, of Little Rock, formerly of Newport, died recently in Little Rock.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Jackson's Newport Funeral Home.

Swindle

PINEVILLE -- Mamie Lou Swindle, 94, of Pineville died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at White River Healthcare Center at Calico Rock.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.

Thomas

PARAGOULD -- James Perry Thomas, 76, of Paragould died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould.

Wheaton

Cynthia Wheaton, 36, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at NEA Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Whitaker

JOINER -- Alfred Eli Whitaker, 90, of Joiner died Thursday, Feb. 3, at South Mississippi County Regional Medical Center.

Born at Bassett, he was a retired insurance salesman and of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Whitaker of Joiner.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark AME Baptist Church at Chelford, with the Rev. Waldo Campbell officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark Cemetery at Chelford, under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Adams

TRUMANN -- Funeral services for Pirlean Adams, 72, of Trumann, who died Tuesday, Feb. 8, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Murphy Funeral Home of Lepanto.

Huey Meherg will officiate, and burial will follow in Garden Point Cemetery at Etowah.

A former resident of Lepanto, she was a homemaker and a member of Etowah Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include a son, Buddy Junior Adams of Lepanto; a daughter, Patricia Hendrix of Lepanto; two sisters, Maxine Qualls and Louise Cates, both of Trumann; a brother, Nolan Raper of Trumann; two grandchildren, Ronda Kaye Worsham of Wilson and Whitney Elise Adams of Dallas; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Adams, two sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Allison

BIGGERS -- Jimmy C. Allison, 61, of Biggers died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Randolph County Medical Center.

Born at Biggers, he was a retired farmer and an active member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Wilson Allison of Biggers; two daughters, Gayla Smith of Jonesboro and Jana Poe of Evening Star; and two grandchildren, Jimmy Poe of Evening Star and Dakota Smith of Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas, with Arvil Hill and James Darry Goff officiating. Burial will be in Johnston Cemetery at Reyno.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ball

WYNNE -- Arnie Michael Ball, 44, of Wynne, formerly of McCrory, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at CrossRidge Community Hospital.

Born at Newport, he was a 1979 graduate of McCrory High School, was a farmer and a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Peter's Catholic Church of Wynne.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Ball of Wynne; a son, Michael "Paden" Ball of Wynne; a daughter, Victoria Lynn "Tori" Ball of Wynne; his mother, Agnes Marie Hess Ball of Wynne; and a sister, Diana B. Ellis of Wynne.

He was preceded in death by his father, Odis Finch Ball, and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ed Graves officiating. Burial will follow in Halk Cemetery at Wynne under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne.

Pallbearers will be Lloyd Lucas, Don Graves, Eugene Burnett, David Taylor, Keith Spain, Elton Carter, Ronny Meadows and Jesse Hunt.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The rosary service will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Halk Cemetery, in care of Donna Ball, 225 Cross Road 242, Wynne 72396.
