Swindle

CALICO ROCK -- Funeral services for Mamie Lou Swindle, 94, of Calico Rock, who died Tuesday, Feb. 8, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.

The Rev. Billy Moore and the Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan will officiate and burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Dennis Zimmerman, Arnold Williams, Mark Hayes, Todd Jenkins, Eric Jenkins and Levi Williams.

Honorary pallbearer will include Justin Shields, Jarrod Sheilds, Valen Williams, Grant Hayes, Christ Rowden, Clinton Rowden, Sidney Jenkins, Josh Jenkins, Katie Jenkins, Tyler Jenkins and Tarren Jenkins.

Born in Union County, Miss., she lived at Calico Rock since 1983 and was formerly of Trumann. She was a homemaker and member of Missionary Baptist Church at Trumann.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Overton of Enid, Okla., and Donna Walters of Savannah, Tenn.; one son, Harold Swindle of Calico Rock; one brother, James Thompson of Ecru, Miss.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton "Tubby" Swindle, and her parents, William Leslie and Mary Alice Homes Thompson.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Thomas

PARAGOULD -- Graveside services for James "Jay" Thomas, 76, of Paragould, who died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Finch Cemetery.

Royce Boling will officiate. Burial will be under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould.

military honors will be provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4556 of Pocahontas.

Born at Paragould, he was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a retired factory worker.

Survivors include three sons, Mike Thomas of Palmdale, Calif., Bob Thomas of Port Hueneme, Calif., and Steve Thomas of Cuba, Mo.; one daughter, Cheryl Bryan of Paragould; one sister, Jean Walker of Cardwell, Mo.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Maxine Thomas; one son, James Perry Thomas Jr.; one daughter, Diana Jean McGrath; his parents, James Ollie and Annie Almira Hyde Thomas; and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Wheaton

Graveside services for Cyndy Wheaton, 36, of Jonesboro, who died Tuesday, Feb. 8, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Pine Log Cemetery near Brookland, with Jerry Jolly officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Taylor, Doug McArthur, Thayer McKinley, Dwayne Bishop, Charles Mitchell and Wayne Still.

She was born at Trumann and had lived most of her life in Jonesboro. She was of the Nazarene faith.

Survivors include her husband, Shane Wheaton of the home; one son, Jonathan Harviel of the home; her mother, Norma Harviel of Jonesboro; one brother, Eugene Harviel of Lufkin, Texas; and one sister, Sue Harviel of Birmingham, Ala.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Allison

BIGGERS -- Funeral services for Jimmy C. Allison, 63, of Biggers, who died Tuesday, Feb. 8, will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas.

Arvil Hill and James Darry Goff will officiate. Burial will be in the Johnston Cemetery at Reyno.

Pallbearers will be Calvin Carlton, Mark Carlton, Markus Carlton, Lincoln Carlton, Stanley Edington and Johnny Hillenburg.

Born at Biggers, he was a retired farmer and an active member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Wilson Allison of Biggers; two daughters, Gayla Smith of Jonesboro and Jana Poe of Evening Star; his mother, Geraldine Allison of Biggers; and two grandchildren, Jimmy Poe of Evening Star and Dakota Smith of Jonesboro.

Memorials may be made to St. Bernard's Hospice, 2813 Forrest Home Road, Jonesboro 72401, or to the Children's Homes of Paragould.

Armstrong

DALTON -- Lois Irene Armstrong, 85, of Dalton died Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Randolph County Nursing Home.

Born at Dalton, she was a homemaker and member of Dalton Church of Christ.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Lilly of Fort Meyers, Fla., Sharon Hail of Whitney, Texas, and Ruth Hudson of Doniphan, Mo.; a son, Michael Armstrong of Denver; a sister, Mary June King of Myrtle, Mo.; five grandchildren, Sheila Martin, Quienna Miller, Tammy Daniel, Kristie Hudson and Jeremy Armstrong; five great-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Armstrong; a son, Tim Armstrong; a daughter, Deborah Armstrong; her parents, Lee and Jenis Murray; and a sister.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas, with Mackie McReynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Brawley

OZARK ACRES -- Vera J. Roberts Brawley, 68, of Ozark Acres died Thursday, Feb. 10, at her residence.

Born at Wilson, she was a member of the American Legion and a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald Brawley of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Michael Brawley of Indiana and Russell Brawley of Wirth; one daughter, Kathy Sanchez of Ozark Acres; two brothers, Everett Stafford of Tupelo, Miss., and Ellis Stafford of Sheffield, Ala.; one sister, Nancy Smart of Sheffield; 25 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jyles Edward Bradley Sr.; two sons, Joseph Brawley and Jyles Brawley Jr.; and her parents, Charles Marion and Ollie Jane Randolph Stafford.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel at Highland, with Larry Sellers officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery at Leighton, Ala.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Crawley

REYNO -- Willie Marie Crawley, 85, of Reyno died Thursday, Feb. 10, at Randolph County Medical Center of Pocahontas.

She was a nurse's aide and had retired from the Corning Nursing Home.

Survivors include her husband, Stan Crawley of Reyno; a daughter, Kay Dawn Vaughn of Reyno; two grandchildren, Heather Dawn Hall and Winter Brooke Gutierrez; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Hewitt and Martha Jane Best Park.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas, with Roger Hovis officiating. Burial will follow in Hite Cemetery at Biggers.

Pallbearers will be Billy Barber, Keith Edington, Rick Pratt, Jim Crawley, Roger Troxel and Jerry Hudson.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Flowers

EVENING SHADE -- Funeral services for James Darrell "JD" Flowers, 68, of Evening Shade, who died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Batesville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Emerson Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel of Jonesboro.

The Rev. Earl Watson will officiate. Burial will be in Macey Cemetery near Monette.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Farr, Daniel Milde, Paul Bass, Bryan Richmond, George Chaney and Drew Johns.

Honorary pallbearers will include Gabriel Moya and Santiago Vasquez.

Born at Grubbs, he lived in Jonesboro, Monette and Springfield, Mo., before moving to Evening Shade eight years ago. He was a retired truck driver, Army veteran of the Korean War and of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include four daughters, Trish Hale and Tina Chaney, both of Paragould, Kathy Johns of Evening Shade and Donna Milde of Jonesboro; three sons, Darrell Flowers of Jonesboro, Jason Flowers stationed in Washington state with the U.S. Navy and Justin Flowers of Cedar Creek, Mo.; three sisters, Ludean Patterson and Paulette Wessell, both of Jonesboro, and Ruth Ann Morris of Walnut Ridge; two brothers, Wayne "Danny" Ball of Jonesboro and Dennis Ball of Lake City; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
