Ruby Warden
WEST MEMPHIS — Ruby Warden, 83, of West Memphis died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, in West Memphis. She was a homemaker, a member of First Presbyterian Church in West Memphis, a Sunday school teacher for more than 50 years, president of Presbyterian Women and a leader and Bible study moderator, past president of Bragg School PTA, past president of West Junior High PTA, life member of West Memphis Jr. Auxiliary, a Girl Scout and Campfire Girls leader, a Boy Scout den mother and the Ruby Warden Activity Center at MidSouth Community College was named for her in honor of donations made by her and her husband.
Funeral was held May 1, 2003, at First Presbyterian Church in West Memphis under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis. Burial was private.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard; two daughters, Patricia Nichols of West Memphis and Janet Gatewood of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, Leonard Warden III of Fort Smith; a sister, Maxine Dollinger of Lebanon, Ore.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church in West Memphis or charity of donor’s choice.

Keyes Lane
CARTER LAKE, Iowa — Keyes Lane, 79, of Carter Lake, Iowa, formerly of McCurtain, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, in Council Bluff, Iowa.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hilltop Holiness Mission Church in Keota with burial at Iron Bridge Cemetery in Keota under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by his wife, Hettie; a daughter, Carmelita Brendle of Carter Lake, Iowa; two sons, Alvin Lane of Carter Lake, Iowa, and Carl Lane of St. Joseph, Mich.; four sisters and six grandchildren.

Lester Hendrickson
PANAMA — Lester Maurice Hendrickson, 92, of Panama died Sunday, May 4, 2003, in Spiro. He was born July 18, 1910, in Kingsbury, S.D. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a machinist and the widower of Camilla Hendrickson.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by two sisters, Ella Christenson of Minnesota and Marie Husbands of Nebraska; a brother, Richard Hendrickson of South Dakota.

Cora Brown
PARAGOULD — Cora Lee Brown, 95, of Paragould died Saturday, May 3, 2003, in Paragould. She was born Sept. 8, 1907, in Indian Territory, Okla. She was a homemaker, of the Free Will Baptist faith and the widow of Thomas Brown.
Funeral was held Monday at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Paragould. Burial was at Fanshawe Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by three daughters, Opal Goggins of Jonesboro, Ellen Smith of Paragould and Nadine Long of Little Rock; four sons, Kenneth Brown of Rochelle, Ill., Delbert Brown of Paragould, Doyle Brown of Bartlesville, Okla. and Rondle Brown of Skiatook, Okla.; a sister, Mildred Prince of New Mexico; 27 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 35 great-great-grandchildren.

Joyce Groomer
WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. — Joyce Groomer, 89, of West Siloam Springs, Okla., formerly of Mena, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, in Oklahoma. She was born Oct. 9, 1913, in Moore, Okla. She was a licensed Assembly of God minister, a homemaker and the widow of John Groomer.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
She is survived by a son, James Groomer of Kansas, Okla.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Board Camp Assembly of God.

Viola Crane
PARIS — Viloa Clara Crane, 80, of Paris died Monday, May 5, 2003, in Paris. She was a retired cook, a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God in Paris. She was the widow of Walter Crane.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at McKendree Cemetery in Subiaco under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by a son, Dennis Crane of Scranton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Randy Fears
Randy Fears, 47, of Van Buren died Saturday, May 3, 2003, in Van Buren. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Van Buren, a 1973 graduate of Van Buren High School, a Van Buren Pointer basketball star, former journalist for several area newspapers including the Southwest Times Record, Press Argus Courier and the Arkansas Gazette and other newspapers in Dallas and Florida.
Graveside service will be at 4 p.m. today at Macdonia Cemetery near Uniontown under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; a daughter, Christie Pixley of Fort Smith; two sons, Christopher Fears of Little Rock and Aaron Fears of Dallas; a sister, Velma Alexander of Van Buren; two brothers, Roy Fears of Springdale and Earl Fears of Dallas; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Funeral procession will leave from the funeral home to Macedonia Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. today.

John Pennington
John Wayne Pennington, 56, of Fort Smith died Sunday, May 4, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was an auditor and desk clerk for Budgetel Motel.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith. The body will be cremated.
He is survived by his father, William Pennington of Fort Smith; two sisters, Nancy Smith of Little Rock and Helen Keown of Fort Smith; and a brother, Warren Pennington of Fort Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 8006, Fort Smith, AR 72902.

Lewis Helton
WALDRON — Lewis Thomas Helton, 84, of Waldron died Sunday, May 4, 2003, in a local hospital. He was a veteran of World War II, a retired carpenter, a member of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church and the widower of Louise Helton.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Pleasant Methodist Church under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
He is survived by his wife, Nora; two daughters, Sue Harp of Aurora, Colo., and Elaine Hinkley of San Diego; four sons, Tom Helton of Oceanside, Calif., Mike Helton of Kingsland, Ga., Fred Helton of San Diego and Frank Helton of Spring Valley, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Cathy Vaughn of Greenwood; three stepsons, Randy Godfrey of Greenwood and Johnny and James Godfrey, both of Waldron; two sisters, Beatrice Norton of Columbia, Mo., and Burnetta Richmond of Waldron; a brother, John Helton of Lavaca; three stepsisters, Mary Gray and Johnnie Sheppard, both of Booneville, and Hazel Cleveland of Warren; a stepbrother, Nathan Franklin of Booneville; 16 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Helton, Shane Millard, Mike House, Mitchell Rose and Danny Richmond.
The body may be viewed 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

David Yoder
WALDRON — David Michael Yoder, 89, of Waldron died Friday, May 2, 2003, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a retired carpenter and attended Waldron Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Waldron Free Will Baptist Church with burial at Buffalo Cemetery in Boles under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
He is survived by a son, David Yoder of Abbeville, S.C.; three stepsons, Lionel Windham of Sunnyvale, Calif., Leon Windham of Waldron and Hugh Windham of Bozeman, Mont.; a brother, Roy Yoder of Phoenix, Ore.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Yoder, Lionel, Hugh and Leon Windham and Bird and L.D. Vines.
The body may be viewed 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Marise Mixon
Marise Mixon, 76, of Fort Smith died Sunday, May 4, 2003, in a local hospital. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Park Hill Church of Christ.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Elwyn; three daughters, Deborah Dolan, Candace Sanders and Rebecca Conner, all of Fort Smith; three sons, Mick and Patrick Mixon, both of Greenwood, and Joel Mixon of Rudy; two sisters, Zelda Taft of Fort Smith and Charlotte Herring of Old Town, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Buddy Rogers
CLARKSVILLE — Buddy Rogers, 72, of Clarksville died Monday, May 5, 2003, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born Aug. 27, 1930, in Clarksville. He was a graduate of Hartman High School, a member of Goose Camp Assembly of God and retired wildlife officer with Arkansas Game & Fish Commission.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville.
He is survived by a daughter, Connie Lee of Clarksville; three sons, Jim, Jack and Robert Rogers, all of Clarksville; a sister, Lanelle Russell of Hartman; two brothers, George Rogers of Clarksville and Charles Rogers of Tulsa; and four grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ronnie Fletcher
TEXARKANA — Ronnie Ray Fletcher, 46, of Texarkana died Saturday, May 3, 2003, in his home. He was born May 12, 1956, in Pampa, Texas. He was supervisor over the Cath Lab at Christus St. Michael Hospital and a Baptist.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church in Texarkana with burial at East Memorial Gardens under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Denise; a daughter, DeAnna O’Malley of Wake Village, Texas; a son, Jerame Fletcher of Kilgore, Texas; his parents, Walter and Leota Fletcher of Mountainburg; two sisters, Alice Holland of Mountainburg and Mary Sykes of Van Buren; a brother, Lynn Strickland of Mountainburg; and three grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family will be at 4110 Garland Street in Texarkana.

David Benson
HOWE — David Benson, 69, of Howe died Monday, May 5, 2003, in his home, He was retired from Whirlpool as a line operator, a member of Heavener Masonic Lodge and of the Baptist faith.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener with burial at Howe Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Angel Hall of Howe; two sons, David Benson of Poteau and Chris Benson of Wister; his parents, Chester and Hazel Benson of Howe; a sister, Mary Benson of Howe; two brothers, Jim Benson of Collinsville, Okla., and Paul Benson of Howe; and six grandchildren.

Teresa Hurst
VIAN — Teresa Hurst, 76, of Vian died Monday, May 5, 2003, in Sallisaw. She was the widow of Jack Hurst.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dwight Mission Cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Smith of Vian; three sons, James Hurst of Vian, Leon Hurst of Okemah, Okla., and J. Hurst of Sallisaw; two sisters, Maxine Yort of Shawnee, Okla., and Katye Ledford of Oklahoma City; a brother, Leon Dunn of Spencer, Okla.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Cole, Michaelee Summerlin, Elliott, Daniel and Clayton Hurst and Chad Cummings.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.
