Kenneth Burleson Jr.
HARTFORD — Kenneth Donald Burleson Jr., 41, of Hartford died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, in his home. He was a member of Faith Chapel Church in Hartford and worked in the construction industry.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Chapel in Hartford with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery in Blooming Grove, Texas, under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Hartford.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie; two daughters, Sharaunia Burleson of Poteau and LeeAnn Burleson of Corsicana, Texas; a son, Buddy Burleson of Shady Point; his mother, Jo Ann Burleson of Mansfield; paternal grandmother, Northera Toten of Blooming Grove; paternal grandfather, Boy Toten of Blooming Grove; two sisters, Teresa Hofma of Royse City, Texas, and Cassondra Jenkins of Hartford.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Sherman Fitzer
QUINTON, OKLA. — Sherman Fitzer, 68, of Quinton died Thursday, Oct. 16, in a Muskogee, Okla., hospital. He was retired from the Navy.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Community Church with burial at King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; a son, Bill Fitzer of Broken Arrow, Okla.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Spencer Blalack
HECTOR — Spencer Blalack, 39, of Hector died Saturday, Oct. 18, near Tilley. He was born Dec. 24, 1963, in Russellville. He was a graduate of Hector High School, a carpenter and a Pentecostal.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hector Assembly of God with burial at Rock Springs Cemetery in Hector under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
He is survived by a daughter, Teddy Alexander of Hector; a son, Tristen Blalack of Hector; his mother, Mary Freeman of Van Buren; his father, Paul Blalack of Hector; grandmother, Lois Blalack of Hector; grandfather and step-grandmother, the Rev. Lester and Emoline Chisum of Falling Water; a sister, Tina Henson; and two brothers, Stephen Blalack of Greenwood and Stuart Blalack of Belleville.
Pallbearers will be Keith Marable, Terry and Jerry Rudder, Tommy New, Brent Lee and J.C. Graham.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Erma Poole
Erma F. Poole, 91, of Fort Smith died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, in Poteau. She was a homemaker, a Jehovah’s Witness and the widow of Herman A. Poole.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Howe Cemetery in Howe.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Smith of Poteau and Ruth Felkner and Joan Beshears, both of Fort Smith; three sons, Ron Brown of Denton, Texas, James Poole of Willis, Texas, and Charles Poole of Fort Smith; a sister, Ollie Wall of Oklahoma City; 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Aaron and Bret Beshears, Mike and Ronnie Martin, David Poole, Andy Salley and Richard and Carter Tate.

Joe Martin
BOONEVILLE — Joe Thurman Martin, 86, of Booneville died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, in Booneville. He was born March 11, 1917, in Logan County. He was retired from Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., and was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Charleston, a farmer and a member of the Coon Hunters Club.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Robert Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Booneville with burial at Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery in Booneville.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; and a sister, Helen Herd of Missouri.
Pallbearers will be Steve Holmberg, Eddie Carpenter, Wayne Glass, Brian Womack, Harold Cantrell and Herman Adair.

Marie Sikes
OZARK — Marie L. Sikes of Ozark died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a member of West Park Baptist Church in Ozark.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie; three daughters, Agena DeChaine of Fort Smith, Shelley Gray of Roland and Annette Beasley; a sister, Maria Mathias of Bossier City, La.; two brothers, William and Harold Williams, both of Texarkana, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Beasley, Kirby Vaughn, Roy Gray, Bill Ricker, Mitch Dulaney and Hershel Conley.
Family visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Madge Hale
Madge L. Hale, 96, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

Sharon Zollicoffer
IRVING, Texas — Sharon Kay Zollicoffer, 54, of Irving died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, in Irving. She was born March 25, 1949, in Clarksville. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Second Ward, in Irving.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Clarksville with burial at Nichols Chapel Cemetery in Altus under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil; three daughters, Gena, Marci and Sarah Zollicoffer, all of Irving; three sons, Michael, Adam and Leonard Zollicoffer, all of Irving; her mother, Marcella Self of Coal Hill; four sisters, Karen Sharp of Hartman, Vivkie Duncan of Camden and Connie Gage and Linda Bowen, both of Ozark; and six grandchildren.

Donnie Smith
Donnie E. Smith, 54, of Fort Smith, formerly of Poteau, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was of the Presbyterian faith. He was a 1967 graduate of Poteau High School and a graduate of Carl Albert State College and Oklahoma State University with a degree in trade and industrial education. He retired from Kiamichi Technology Center in Poteau as an instructor in automotive service technology. He was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Oklahoma Education Association, National Education Association, Oklahoma Vocational Association, Vocational Industrial Clubs of America, National Association of Industrial Instructors and Trade & Industrial Association.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel of Heavener with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; two stepsons, Ronnie Campney of Edmond, Okla., and Loren McLane of Fort Smith; his mother, Wilma Smith of Heavener; a brother, Richard Smith of Claremore; and three grandchildren.

James Rel Sharp
James Rel Sharp, 58, of Rogers died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, in Fayetteville. He was a car dealer. He is preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Forrester.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roberts Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Booneville with burial at Mixon Cemetery near Booneville.
He is survived by a daughter, Vickie Maxwell of Seattle, Wash.; three sons, James Rel Sharp Jr. of Superior, Colo., Mitchell McKane Sharp of Russellville and Rel Vincent Sharp of Sherman, Texas; his mother, JaQuita Sharp of Booneville; a sister, Nancy Cox of Booneville; and a brother, Stanley Claud Sharp of Fort Smith.

Lillian Leona Allen
Lillian Leona Allen, servant of God, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, went home to be with her Heavenly Father Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003. She was a lifelong resident of the Fort Smith and Van Buren area.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Pat” Allen; one daughter, Brenda Naughton; one grandson, Patrick Moore; and one great-grandson, Michael Waldon.
Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Lexie Griffin and her husband Joe of Longview, Texas, and Crissy Benton and her husband Elton of Fort Smith; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Velva Parks of Newport News, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Elton Benton, James Wagley, Aaron and David Thomas, Gary Henry and Jim Lumpkin.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Northside United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. B.J. Thomas and the Rev. Ronnie Patrick officiating. Interment will follow at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.

Leonard Burkett
Leonard Burkett, 78, of Hemit, Calif., formerly of Van Buren, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003. He was a retired farmer.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at White Cemetery at Fort Chaffee under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by three nieces, Mary LaRue of Van Buren and Dixie Jones and Debbie Beatolino, both of California; and five nephews, Bill Vaughn of Van Buren, William Burkett of Washington, Jessy Burkett of Searcy, Clarence Vaughn of Rudy and Louis Vaughn of Cecil.

Emily M. Bryan
Emily M. Bryan, 94, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was the devoted wife of Lemuel C. Bryan, who preceded her in death in January after 56 years of marriage. She was a Navy veteran of World War II, served on the Sparks Hospital Women’s Board, was a Junior League of Fort Smith Sustainer and was active at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a niece, Kathryn O. Why; a nephew, James W. Oram Jr.; four great nephews, Gregory R. Why, Andrew O. Why, J. Marshall Oram and Brook B. Oram; and three great nieces, Jamie McLean Russo, Suzanne McLean Stenberg and Leslie W. Reap.
Pallbearers will be Doug Smith, Bob Meek, Brad Jesson, Jim Oram and Ben and Bryan Cabell.

Cio Pica
BOONEVILLE — Cio Paul Pica, 76, of Booneville died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, in Little Rock. He was a coalman on the railroad and a truck driver.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Roberts Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Booneville with burial at Bloodsworth Cemetery near Booneville.
He is survived by his wife, Lenore; a daughter, Annette Rossodivita of Campbell, Ohio; two sons, Pat Pica of Campbell, Ohio, and John Pica of Lowellville, Ohio; a brother, Dominic Pica of Booneville; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Robert and Russell Frances, Andrew Dunlap, Steve Aydelott, Jim Bennefield, Al Williams and Jerald Baker.
The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Margie Decker
HOWE — Margie Faye Decker, 61, of Howe died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, in Heavener.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Mount View Cemetery in the Glendale community under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
She survived by a daughter, Debra Roman of Mesa, Ariz.; two sons, Stan Davis and John Fields, both of Howe; a brother, Ed Decker of Heavener; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Fait Grantham
OKLAHOMA CITY — Fait Henry “Cisco” Grantham, 76, of Oklahoma City died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, in Oklahoma City. He was born Dec. 6, 1926, in Hackett. He worked for more than 44 years at Connelly Paving Company.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Branstetter-Merritt Funeral Home Chapel in Oklahoma City with burial at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Chris; two daughters, Tina White of Yukon, Okla., and Barbara Skinner of California; two sons, Clay and Poncho, both of Oklahoma City; a sister, Thelma Duncan of Fort Smith; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Sherman Fitzer
