Rena Morton
Rena Zora Morton, 103, of Van Buren died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, in a local nursing home. She was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Van Buren and a homemaker. She was the widow of Lester Morton.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Cemetery Arbor near Natural Dam under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by five daughters, Juanita Remelsberger of Van Buren, Marie Lockhart of Rockford, Ill., Elsie Workman of Cedarville, Jewel Gillette of Lincoln and Nova Morton of Cedarville; a son, Gary Morton of Cedarville; 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dave Tomlison, Steve Workman, Harley Bilyeu, Charles King, Charles Morton and Don Lockhart.

Raymond Masterson
SPIRO — Raymond E. Masterson, 74, of Spiro died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Harvest Hill Assembly of God with burial at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; seven daughters, Betty Morse and Janice Parker, both of Fort Smith, Kathy Coffey, Treasa Griffin, Barbara Pettigrew and Helen Pettigrew, all of Spiro, and Priscilla Lovett of Pocola; three sons, Larry Masterson of Pocola, Jimmy Masterson of Spiro and Brian Masterson of Fort Smith; six sisters, Cory Treat, Helen Earcret, Robbie Boone, Barbara Smith, Carolyn Gray and Mary Paul, all of Spiro; three brothers, Harold and Charles Masterson, both of Spiro, and Hershel Materson of Kansas City, Mo.; 28 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Ira Horne
POCOLA — Ira W. Horne, 81, of Pocola died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was retired from Fort Smith Structural Steel and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Pocola with burial at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife, Alvina; a daughter, Candy Lefler of Malcolm, Neb.; two sons, George Horne of Pocola and Franklin Horne of West Fork; three sisters, Margaret Horne of Port Arthur, Texas, Phyllis Hunter of Indiana and Alene Smith of Arkoma; two brothers, Newt Horne of Fort Smith and Ralph Horne of Alabama; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Sandra Cade
Sandra L. Cade, 53, of Fort Smith died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 1, 1950, in Hopewell, Va. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church in Fort Smith and a homemaker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Memorial Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Lagera Cade of Fort Smith; a son, Tommie Cade Jr. of Fort Smith; five sisters, two brothers and two grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.
The family will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.

Marion McAllister
Marion Lee McAllister, 78, of Fort Smith died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in a nursing home. He was born Feb. 21, 1925, in Fort Smith. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith and a retired manager of Ballman & Cummings. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and a 50-year member of the Masonic Blue Lodge No. 706 in Fort Smith.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; four sisters, Betty Newlon of Van Buren, Mary Abney of Moore, Okla., Irma Yocum of Rogers and Shirley Hale of Goshen; and a brother, Tom McAllister of Fort Smith.

Katie Gipson
MOFFETT — Katie “Granny” Gipson, 100, of Moffett died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in a Fort Smith nursing home. She was born July 26, 1903, in Boone, Ky. She was a homemaker and the widow of Ira Gipson.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Valley Cemetery south of Lavaca under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
She is survived by three daughters, Juanita Smith of California, Ruby Lindsey of Moffett and Emogene Gipson of Texas; three sons, Robert Gipson of Moffett, Joe Gipson of Jenny Lind and Loyd Gipson of Bloomer; 37 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.
The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Michael Buster
VIAN — Michael Dean Buster, 38, of Vian died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, in Vian. He was born Jan. 18, 1965, in Tahlequah, Okla. He was a construction laborer and a Protestant.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Julie; a daughter, Michelle Buster of the home; a stepdaughter, Tisa Annesley of Vian; two sons, Michael Dean Buster II and Shawn Buster, both of the home; a stepson, Daniel Lockett of Oregon; his mother, Nancy Quinton of Vian; his father, Thomas Blackburd Sr. of Cookson, Okla.; and two brothers, Thomas Brown and Darryl Buster, both of Vian.
Pallbearers will be Larry Horn, Tim Kennedy, Daniel Hunter, Roger Collins, James Laymon and Roger Smith.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Robinson Kirk
BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Robinson A. Kirk, 87, of Broken Arrow, formerly of Muldrow, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, in Tulsa. He was born May 9, 1916, in Long, Okla. He was a retired educator and administrator at Delaware and Moffett schools, a member of the First Baptist Church in Broken Arrow and a 1933 graduate of Roland High School. He received a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla., in 1940 and a master’s degree from Oklahoma State University in 1953. He was the widower of Cornelia Mae Kirk.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Muldrow with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.
He is survived by a daughter, Zondra Morgan of Broken Arrow; a son, Robby Kirk of Broken Arrow; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Darren and David Morgan, Zachary Kirk, Wilson Fargo, Carl Mize and Tommy Click.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Senior Adult Department, 100 W. Albany, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.

Elizabeth Dawn Johnson
Elizabeth Dawn Johnson, 80, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a retired registered nurse for St. Edward Mercy Medical Center, a member of Cavanaugh Freewill Baptist Church and the widow of Herman Ray Johnson.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Oak Valley Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
She is survived by one daughter, Ellen Chrisman and husband Freddy of Greenwood; one sister, Dee Baker of Las Vegas; one grandson, Mike Chrisman and wife Leanna of Greenwood; one granddaughter, Ashley Chrisman of Greenwood; and four great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mary Elaine Poe
Mary Elaine Poe, 52, of Little Rock, formerly of Fort Smith, passed away in Little Rock on Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, after a long struggle with chronic lung disease. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph B. Poe. She graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where she received a master’s degree in nursing. After several years working as a nurse practitioner she was forced to resign because of a mental illness. She battled this disease for many years, but with excellent medication and counseling she made great strides in overcoming it.
The body will be cremated. Plans are pending for a memorial Mass to be held at Christ the King Catholic Church under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
She is survived by her mother, Hilda Poe of Fort Smith; brothers, Larry Poe and his wife Elizabeth of East Lansing, Mich., and Kevin Poe and his wife Susie of Fort Smith; two sisters, Anita Poe and Elizabeth Antilla, both of Fort Smith; a niece, Joanna Poe of East Lansing, Mich.; two nephews, Ryan and Chris Poe, both of Fort Smith; and a companion of many years, Patricia Dunlap of Little Rock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Smith chapter of the Alliance for the Mentally Ill, c/o Rosemary Webb, 5804 Gary St., Fort Smith, AR 72903.

Ronald Ray Rumage
Ronald Ray Rumage, 49, of Oklahoma City died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, in Oklahoma City. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of American Legion Post 31 and of the Southern Baptist faith.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by three daughters, Patricia and Erica Rumage, both of Oklahoma City, and Danielle Rumage of San Antonio, Texas; his parents, Grady Rumage of San Antonio and Marilynn Lawson of Chester; his grandmother, Enola Gay Warrington of Corona, Calif.; two brothers, Marilyn Craig Rumage of Jacksonville, Fla., and Calvin Lavern Rumage of Chester; an uncle, Leon Rumage of Aurora, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Raymonde Melanie Wood
Raymonde Melanie Wood, 75, of Fort Smith died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith, an avid gardener and co-owner of Gene’s BBQ in Fort Smith and worked as a chef at Taliano’s Restaurant in Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Eugene Wood. She was born in LaVache Noire, France, and during her teenage years was a runner for the French resistance during World War II in her village in France.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Melanie Reed of Fort Smith and Jeannine McCrea of Muldrow; three sons, Randy Wood of Fort Smith, Andre Wood of Muldrow and Roger Wood of Midwest City, Okla.; a sister, Marie Lou Morice of Soissons, France; a brother, Norbert Morice of Vic Sur Aisne, France; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randy, Andre, Roger and Augustus Wood, John McCrea and Tim Reed.
The family will visit with friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 1274, Fort Smith, AR 72902.

Dee Darrow
Dee Darrow, 79, of Mountainburg died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, in a local hospital. He was a retired employee from Farm Work.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Old Cache Cemetery in Haskell County under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by a sister, Goldie Blan of Mountainburg; and several nieces and nephews, including Hester Jones of Alma.

Doyle Winters
LOVINGS, Okla. — Doyle Elmer Winters, 84, of Lovings, Okla., died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, in Lovings. He was born Jan. 12, 1919. He was a cattleman, a poultry grower, a member of Lovings Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday school superintendent and teacher, worked with the athletics of the church, served in the Navy six years, was discharged with a rank of chief boatswain’s mate, was a Pearl Harbor survivor of World War II serving aboard the USS Louisville and Broadwater, served in the CC Camp in Idaho and Arkansas, was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Heavener Masonic Lodge No. 154, where he served past Worshipful Master and was a pitcher for the Heavener Blues baseball team in the 1950s.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Lovings Baptist Church with burial at Lovings Cemetery in Lovings under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; two daughters, Charlotte Moody of Heavener and Pam Luman of Bella Vista; two sons, Paul and Jim Winters, both of Heavener; three sisters, Ruby Sanders of Bates, Alma Dame of Tulsa and Doris Denton of Heavener; a brother, Lloyd Winters of Tracy, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Joseph Sutto
OZARK — Joseph Sutto, 84, of Ozark died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, in Ozark. He was born Dec. 6, 1919, in Mayi, Hungary. He was an electronics technician, a Hamm radio operator, an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Altus under the direction Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
He is survived by a daughter, Antoinette Sutto of Waldport, Ore.; a son, Kenneth Sutto of Lacey, Wash.; and one sister.
