Clifford “Cliff” Casey
Clifford “Cliff” Casey, 84, of Fort Smith departed this life Thursday, May 17, 2001, in Mulberry. He was born March 22, 1917, in the White Rock community, the son of the late Grant and Fay (Taff) Casey. Cliff was a former employee of H.C. Nutting Company and a member of West-Ark Church of Christ in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday in West-Ark Church of Christ with burial at White Rock Cemetery, officiated by Roy Dunavin and David Chadwell, under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; a stepdaughter, Helen Beneux Pratt and husband Jim Pratt of Fort Smith; two sons and their wives, Jeff and Candy Casey of Norwood, Ohio, and Barry and Mary Casey of Cincinnati; a stepson and wife, David and Donna Beneux of Mulberry; five sisters, Norma Marks of West Monroe, La., Mildred Hembree of Brooks, Ky., Sue Miller of Ozark, Dean Kincy of Dyer and June Magby of Mulberry; six grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be elders and past elders of West-Ark Church of Christ.
Memorial contributions may be made to West-Ark Church of Christ Mission Fund, 900 North Waldron Road, Fort Smith, AR 72903.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.

Ray McCurley
Ray McCurley, 86, of Fort Smith entered into rest, Thursday, May 17, 2001, in his home. He was born January 4, 1915, in Grannis, the son of the late Sam and Leona (Smith) McCurley. He was a retired service manager for Dewitt Oldsmobile Inc. and a member of Spradling Avenue Baptist Church.
Ray is survived by one daughter, Pat Slaughter of Van Buren; his twin sister, May Cain of Del City, Okla.; four grandchildren, Deborah, David, Mark and Steve; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2001, at Spradling Avenue Baptist Church with graveside service held at 12:30 p.m. at Green Hill Cemetery in Muskogee, Okla., officiated by the Reverend Ron Williamson.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Spradling Avenue Church, 3515 Waldron Road, Fort Smith, AR.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.

LaDell O. Willhite
LaDell O. Willhite, 79, of Fort Smith died Saturday, May 19, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker, a retired employee of Furr’s Cafeteria and a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda K. Rich of Fort Smith and Connie J. Fesler of Mount Vernon, Ohio; a son, Billy T. Hixson of Pryor, Okla.; a sister, Corine Nixon of Tulsa; three brothers, James R. Hixson of Sands Springs, Roy Hixson of Ozark and Ronnie Hixson of Tulsa; five stepbrothers and stepsisters; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by many nieces and nephews, dearest to her, Sharon Meadow.
Pallbearers will be Todd Fesler, Bryan and Kent Hixson, Josh and Caleb Rich and Randy Robbins.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

LUCINDA LONG
CLARKSVILLE — Lucinda Long, 91, of Clarksville died Friday, May 18, 2001 in an area hospital. She was the widow of John A. Long and a member of Clarksville Church of Christ.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Clarksville Church of Christ with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville.
She is survived by a daughter, Jewell Patton of Clarksville; a son, W.T. “Bud” Long of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Connie Griffith of Coal Hill, Tom Nunley of Lafayette, La., and W.T. “Billy” Long Jr. of Little Rock; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

CHARLES BROWN
Charles D. “Speedy” Brown, 70, of Van Buren died Saturday, May 19, 2001, in Van Buren. He was a Baptist, a member of Alma Masonic Lodge No. 735, a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a retired employee of Olin Industries.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Fort Smith National Cemetery.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Poague of Van Buren; two sons, Steve of Virginia Beach, Va. and Paul of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Louise Ball of Sallisaw; two brothers, Jack of Springdale and Jerry of Alma; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be R.C. Walker, Jack, Jerry, Jason and Jacob Brown and Christopher Prague.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

MYRTLE STANDRIDGE
HEAVENER — Myrtle Casey Standridge, 95, of Heavener died Saturday, May 19, 2001, in Heavener. She was a former resident of Eufaula, a member of the Eastern Star in Eufaula and First Baptist Church in Heavener and an original enrollee of the Choctaw Tribe. She was the widow of Garland Standridge.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel with burial at 3:30 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Eufaula under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
She is survived by three daughters, Anna Lue Denny of Edmond, Okla., Bettie Arnold of Monkey Island, Okla., and Garlena Vickers of Heavener; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heavener First Baptist Church Building Fund.

LAHOMA PHILLIPS
BOKOSHE, Okla. — Lahoma Delainey “Dee” Phillips, 86, of Bokoshe, Okla., died Friday, May 18, 2001, in Arkoma. She was a charter member of the Bokoshe Assembly of God where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was the widow of Thomas Jefferson Phillips.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Bokoshe Assembly of God with burial at Milton Cemetery in Milton under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home in Spiro.
She is survived by two daughters, Gail Weaver of Greenwood and Jo White of Houston; four sons, J.D. and Eddie Phillips, both of Bokoshe, and Herman and Jerry Phillips, both of Houston; two sisters, Mert Nance of Amarillo, Texas, and Earl Dean Oliver of McCurtain, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lary and Gary Carver, Royce Vincent, William and Wayne Lindenau and R.C. Culwell.

CLIFFORD CASEY

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday in West-Ark Church of Christ with burial at White Rock Cemetery in Franklin County under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; a stepdaughter, Helen Beneux Pratt of Fort Smith; two sons, Jeff of Norwood, Ohio, and Barry of Cincinnati; a stepson, David Beneux of Mulberry; five sisters, Norma Marks of Monroe, La., Mildred Hembree of Brooks, Ken., Sue Miller of Ozark, Dean Kincy of Dyer and June Magby of Mulberry; six grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, one great-grandchild and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Curtis McDonald, Kevin Vaught, Jerry Canfield, Wilbourn Howard, Jim Morgan and Bruce Davenport.

VELVA WOFFORD
GREENWOOD — Velva Kathleen Trigg Wofford, 80, of Greenwood died Saturday, May 19, 2001, in Little Rock. She was a lifelong member of Baptist Affiliation, a member of Jenny Lind First Baptist Church in Fort Smith and a member of Sebastian County Extension Homemakers’ Club. She was the widow of Chet Wofford.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Roberts Memorial Chapel in Booneville with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Booneville.
She is survived by two daughters, Gwen Woodhull of Greenwood and Gay Moore of Little Rock; a son, W.C. “Skip” Wofford of Booneville; six grandchildren, Wade Wofford, Michael, David and Stephen Passen, Wendy Johnson and Kevin Moore; three stepgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wade Wofford, Michael, Stephen and David Passen, Kevin Moore and Michael Johnson.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

RAY MCCURLEY
Ray McCurley, 86, of Fort Smith died Thursday, May 17, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was a retired sales manager for Dewitt Oldsmobile Inc. and a member of Spradling Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Spradling Avenue Baptist Church with burial at Green Hill Cemetery in Muskogee, Okla., under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
He is survived by a daughter, Pat Slaughter of Van Buren; a sister, May Cain of Del City, Okla.; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

HELEN ROSE
Helen S. Rose, 86, of Fort Smith died Thursday, May 17, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday in Fentress Mortuary Chapel.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial at Fort Smith National Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Bill, and many cousins.
Pallbearers will be the eucharistic ministers.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church.

DAVID LOVEGROVE
ALMA — David Lovegrove, 73, of Alma died Friday, May 18, 2001, in his home. He was a retired truck driver for Gordons Transport of Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by a daughter, Cindy Lovegrove of Tuttle, Okla.; a son, David Lovegrove of Fort Smith; two sisters, Delema Fields of Van Buren and Gertrude Brown of Alma; two brothers, Jack Lovegrove of Oklahoma City and Sonny Stephens of Haskell, Okla.; and one granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Harold and Matthew Poyner, Robert Hood, Paul Underwood, Gerald McClure and Bob Shambarger.
The body may be viewed until the funeral hour.

MAY MANSFIELD
May E. Mansfield, 96, of Fort Smith died Friday, May 18, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of South Side Baptist Church.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Hector under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by three daughters, Carlene Mansfield and Ferlene Fenton, both of Boise, Idaho, and Lenora Scoggins of Fort Smith; a son, Wesley of Naches, Wash.; a sister, Faye Taylor of Longmont, Colo.; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to South Side Baptist Church, 2400 Dodson Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72901.
