Robert LeRoy
Robert LeRoy, 79, of Van Buren died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, in a local hospital. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War. He was a retired military air traffic controller and a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. today in Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial and full military honors at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Etha; one daughter, Melinda Cherry of Fort Smith; three sons, Patrick of Signal Hill, Calif., Michael of Lake Orion, Mich., and Paul Benedict of Trealopin, Ore.; two brothers, Ralph of Stanwood, Mont., and Joseph of Zephyrhills, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Sgt. Eric C. Bull, Sgt. Henrey Moore, Brent Cherry, Michael LeRoy, Dave Benedict and Randy Duncan.

Jack Webb
LAMAR — Jack Webb, 75, of Lamar died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, in Little Rock. He was a 1942 graduate of Clarksville High School and attended Harding College from 1946-48. From 1948-50, he attended the University of Tulsa and received his degree in music education. In 1961, he received Masters of Elementary Administration from the University of Arkansas. He served in the Navy aboard the cruiser USS Detroit as a yeoman third class. He was past owner and operator of the Gourmet House and Taylor Motel.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Lamar Cemetery.
He is survived by one aunt, Eva Lee Neece of Miami, Okla.; one sister-in-law, Sue Webb of Clarksville; eight nieces and nephews; and several cousins.

Joy Martin
KING CITY, Ore. — Joy Anne Martin, 71, of King City died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, in Portland, Ore. She was a homemaker and a Civil Service worker for several military installations. She born Nov. 29, 1920, in Fort Smith. She was a 1947 graduate of Fort Smith High School. She was a member of Tigard American Legion No. 158 Auxiliary and chaplain of District 1 of the American Legion Department of Oregon.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday in Young’s Funeral Home in Tigard with burial at 2:30 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
She is survived by her husband, James; three daughters, Sandra A. Botek, Margaret M. Mills and Angela L. Kane; one son, John; one sister, Bonnie Kinder; two brothers, Robert and William Norvell; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contibutions may be made to the American Heart Association.

David McClure
David John McClure, 61, Van Buren, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, in a Fayetteville hospital. He was a Navy veteran and a retired salesman for Guys Foods and was the owner of Circle M Auto Sales. He was a member of Catcher Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by two sons, Bill McClure, Fort Smith, and Steve McClure, Searcy; his father, Clarence McClure, Van Buren; three brothers, Dennis McClure, Sallisaw, Darrell McClure and Rickey McClure, both of Van Buren; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Buster Pitchford, Lawrence and Larry McClure, Bill Daunis, Miles Newman and Teddy Holland.

Corrie Roberts Jr.
Corrie Lee Roberts Jr., 28, Fort Smith, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, in his home. He was a line supervisor for OK Foods.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday in Mount Zion C.M.E. Church with burial at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by a son, Corrie Saharon Roberts, Fort Smith; his mother, Alice Perkins, Fort Smith; a sister, LaTosha Roberts, Fort Smith; his grandmother, Ella Perkins, Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Harry Van Dyke III, Andre Thompson, Tony Watford, Darius and Torrance Cummings and Berrias Morris.
The family will visit with friends at 1115 N. 37th St.

M.R. South
GREENWOOD — M.R. South, 69, Greenwood, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, in his home. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, a retired supervisor for Armbruster-Stageway and a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Greenwood United Methodist Church with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; two daughters, Peggy Rice, Greenwood, and Debbie Elmore, Springdale; two sisters, Eulala Rudolph and Evoline McBride, both of Salt Lake City; three brothers, Foy Coker, Springdale, W.T. South, North Augusta, N.C., and D.N. South, Camp Verdi, Ariz.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Travis and Liz McCartney, Jimmy and Michelle Colvin, Cassie Cathey, Johnny and Marandy Undernehr and Andrea Elmore.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Huston Bottoms
GARDNER, Kan. — Huston F. Bottoms, 86, Gardner, Kan., died Monday, April 30, 2001, in Olathe, Kan. He was born March 6, 1915, in Waldron. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served as a machinist mate on USS Midway. He was a farmer, raised cattle and was a retired mechanical maintenance person from General Post Office in Kansas City, Mo., after 25 years. He was a member of Civilians Conservation Corps, the Rural Fire Department, Johnson County Soil Conservation District, the Rural Water District No. 7, a charter member, the Johnson County Fair Board, a 4-H leader the Morning Glory 4-H, a member and on board of the American Legion LeRoy Hill No. 19, and Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant, Ark.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Bruce Funeral Home in Gardner, Kan., with burial and full military honors at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pisgah Cemetery in Elmwood, Mo.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice; two daughters, Jacquelyn K. Tubbs, Mount Hope, Kan., and Leesa A. Graham, Olathe, Kan.; four sons, Robert Huston, Kansas City, Mo., Richard A. Bottoms, Spring Hill, Kan., Gary K. Bottoms, Gardner, Kan., and Daryl D. Bottoms, Hyattsville, Md.; four sisters, Mildred Fay Bottoms and Eunice Mozelle Bottoms, both of Springdale, Julia Bernice Bottoms, Seneca, S.C., and Luretha Dale Bottoms, Mulgrove, Okla.; a brother, Ed Dean Bottoms, Apopka, Fla.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. Friday before service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Frankie Alexander
MENA — Frankie Lee Alexander, 55, Mena, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, in Greenwood. He was a member of Piney Church in Blackfork.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Piney Cemetery in Blackfork under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife, Jannell; a daughter, Tonya Alexander, Des Moines, Iowa.; seven sisters, Iola Alexander, Viola Franklin and Lela Caldwell, all of Washburn, Mary Smith and Peggy Alexander, both of Waldron, Dorothy Rader, Greenwood, and Sally Shandy, Arkoma; three brothers, Donald Alexander, Washburn, Kenneth Alexander, Waldron, and Carl Alexander, Sullivan, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

David John McClure
David John McClure, 61, Van Buren, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, in a Fayetteville hospital. He was a Navy veteran and a retired salesman for Guys Foods and was the owner of Circle M Auto Sales. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by two sons, Bill McClure, Fort Smith, and Steve and wife Loretta McClure, Searcy; his father, Clarence McClure, Van Buren; three brothers, Dennis McClure, Sallisaw, Darrell McClure and Rickey McClure, both of Van Buren; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Heather McClure, both of Searcy.
Pallbearers will be Buster Pitchford, Lawrence and Larry McClure, Bill Daunis, Miles Newman and Teddy Holland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie McClure, David Boster, Sonny Lamblin and Hubert Blankenship.

Robert McKinney
Robert McKinney, 85, Mulberry, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a self-employed mechanic.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday in Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Mulberry with burial at New Cemetery in Mulberry.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Graf McKinney, Mulberry; two daughters, Annis McKown, Alma, and Martha Campbell, Long Beach, Miss.; a son, Jerry McKinney, Mulberry; a sister, Jeanne Day, Manford, Okla.; a brother, John McKinney, Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Erin Smith, Van Buren, and Katie Workman, Fayetteville; and one great-grandchild, Destin Smith, Van Buren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Russell Mathews
James Russell Mathews, 83, of Van Buren died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a retired cattleman and worked many years for the Crawford County Highway Department and was also a deputy sheriff for Tommie Wilbanks and Bill Vickery. He was a member of the Oliver Springs Free Will Baptist Church, a member of the Fine Springs No. 439 Free and Accepted Masonic Lodge for 50 years, the Van Buren Chapter No. 3 Royal Arch Masons and the Crawford County Farm Bureau. He was a Army veteran of World War II.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Imogene; two sons, Aubrey of the home and Kenneth of Siloam Springs; two sisters, Mildred Coleman and Tressie Morrison, both of Van Buren; four grandchildren, Rusty Mathews of Siloam Springs, Audra Peters, Kimberlea and Susan Mathews; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Brett Peters, Ronald Smith, Neil Hamlin, Leon Brammer, James Hunter, John Hall, Terry Canada and Glen Kimes.

Thell Riddle Sr.
HARTMAN — Thell F. Riddle Sr., 53, of Hartman died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, in his home. He was born July 27, 1948, in Van Buren. He was a paratrooper with the 82nd Air Born Division during the Korean War, a construction worker and a member of Coal Hill Assembly of God.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; two daughters, Heather Ashley of Lincoln and Candy Riddle of Coweta, Okla.; a son, Thell Riddle Jr. of Natural Dam; two stepsons, Billy Carter of Ozark and Brian Carter of Blosson, Texas; three sisters, Brenda Jarrad of Arizona, Mary Burrows and Katie Cook, both of Chester; two brothers, Jeff Riddle of Susanville, Calif. and Robert Riddle of Litchfield, Calif.; four grandchildren and eight stepgrandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Frankie Poyner, Jeff and Thell Riddle Jr., Rusty Ashley, John Carter and Travis Hill.

Larry Hall
CLARKSVILLE — Larry A. Hall, 54, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001. He was born Oct. 15, 1947, in Clarksville. He was a graduate of Clarksville High School and College of the Ozarks and was a welder.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville.
He is survived by his wife, Jody; his parents, Claud and Ladema Hall of Clarksville; a sister, Janis Malloy of Clarksville; three brothers, George and Craig Hall, both of Southaven, Miss. and James Hall of Clarksville.
Pallbearers will be Rick Ward, Donnie Carroll, Tommy Brandon, Marty Reynolds, Bob Hency and Don Curtis.

Woodrow Cowell
LAMAR — Woodrow Cowell, 89, of Lamar died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, in Clarksville. He was a Army veteran of World War II and was awarded four Bronze Stars, Purple Heart award, Good Heart Medal, European African-Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon and three overseas bars, he was retired from the sawmill and was a Baptist. He was the widower of Eva Eunice Cowell.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Lamar Cemetery in Lamar.
He is survived by four daughters, Wanda Haggard of Ozone, Sharon Baney of Oilton, Okla., Mary Johnson of London and Eva Dale of Lamar; a son, Ray Cowell of Altus; three sisters, Wilma Self of Clarksville, Elta Cochran of Sand Springs, Okla. and Mable Thiebes of Salem, Ore.; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie and Andy Haggard, James Cowell, Charles Ray Bruton, Clayton and Daniel Johnson and Jarrod Parker.

Warren Ebone
Warren James Ebone, 81, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, in a local hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II and owner and operator of Discount Furniture and former owner of Ebone Tire Company and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Mass will be 1 p.m. today in Christ the King Catholic Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine; a daughter, Milly Ball of Lecanto, Fla.; two sons, Jim Ebone of St. Louis and Larry Ebone of Houston; two sisters, Rosie Newman and Mary Thomas, both of Fort Smith; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jack Massimino, James and Champ Thomas, Joe and Jim Newman, Leroy Fry, Charles Wingfield and Bill Bowers.
