Juanita Gregory
ALMA — Juanita Gregory, 83, of Alma died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, in a local hospital. She was of the Pentecostal faith and was a retired manager for Star Sample Upholstering.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Morrison Cemetery near Rudy.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy; two daughters, Raylene Adams of Mulberry and Gayle Williams of Van Buren; two stepdaughters, Lisa Brake of Hot Springs and Sharon Callahan of Ozark; two stepsons, Donald and Gary Gregory, both of Van Buren; six grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bradley Speaks
CHESTER — Bradley Lee Speaks, 33, of Chester died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 31, 1971, and attended Cedarville High School.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Gill Cemetery Arbor in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by three daughters, Amber and Ashley Speaks of Siloam Springs, and Amber Burton of Van Buren; his parents, Robert and Betty Speaks of Chester; two sisters, Christa Friddle of Alma and Tonya Harshall of Van Buren; and a brother, Rickey Speaks of Natural Dam.
Pallbearers will be Kenny and Brian Pittman, Greg Pittman Sr., Greg Pittman Jr., Randy Payne and Timmy Townsend.
The family will visit with friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and with family after the service at the home of Robert and Betty Speaks in Chester.

Park Edward Dumas
Park Edward Dumas, infant son of Mike and Leah Dumas, entered heaven and the arms of Jesus on Monday, Nov. 22, 2004. Although his days on this earth were few, God used Park to touch the lives of many. He will be missed and never forgotten.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Leah Dumas of Fort Smith; his brother, Payton Michael Dumas of the home; his paternal grandparents, Freddy and Nancy Dumas of El Dorado; his maternal grandparents, Gene Plyler of Roland and Vickie Bruce of Mount Ida; uncle and aunt, Paul and Susan Dumas of Morrilton, and aunt, Alicia Jill Bruce of Russellville; and two cousins.
The Celebration of life will be Saturday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Allen Williams, Brent Douglas, Denny Whitley and Mike Carey.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, P.O. Drawer 2222, Little Rock, AR 72203.

Rene J. Falleur
Rene J. Falleur, 98, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, in a local hospital. He was born June 30, 1906, in Vincennes, Ind., was a retired glass cutter for Harding Glass after 45 years of service, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and American Legion Post 31.
Rosary will be 6:30 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by 27 nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 22 N. 13th St., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Carrol E. “Gene” Root
Carrol E. “Gene” Root, 78, of Van Buren died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was born Oct. 14, 1926, in Cravens. Retired from T.J. Smith Box Co., a World War II Navy veteran and a Baptist.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Zoleta; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Keith Heard of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Tammy Welch and Stacy and Scott Laster; and three great-grandchildren, Scottie, Michael and Justin.
Pallbearers will be Mike Gaither, Ray Pittman, Doc Elliff, Bill Grill, Rudy Winborn, Jim Thompson and Bill Randolph.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas Sheriff’s Youth Ranch.

Clarice L. Davis
Clarice L. Davis, 91, of Lavaca died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in Charleston. She was the widow of Walter Davis. A member of the Cecil United Methodist Church. She had worked as a nursing aide at Greenhurst. She was preceded in death by one son, Joe Davis Sr.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Smith Mortuary Chapel with burial at Garden of Memories in Charleston under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Bruce Spencer of Lavaca; a daughter-in-law, Eddie Davis of Fort Smith; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy D. Sr. and Norma Davis of Mulberry; two sisters, Marie Teague of Charleston and Bonnie Rushing of Pixley, Calif.; two brothers, J.B. Ballard of Porterville, Calif., and Earnest Ballard of Tipton, Calif.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe Jr., Michael and Brandon Davis, Jason Spencer, Roger Schmidt and Eric Swearingen.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Pebble Brown
BOONEVILLE — Pebble Brown, 91, of Booneville died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 18, 1913, in Magazine. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church in Magazine and the widow of W.S. “Bill” Brown.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Magazine with burial at Ellington Cemetery in Magazine under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Schneider of Fort Smith and Janice Schneberger of Canute, Okla.; a brother, Dr. Garland Godfrey of Bella Vista; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Meredith Files, Wayne Sudberry, Kary, Daren and Alan Schneberger and Joe Riggins.
The body may be viewed from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today and from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Clareta Rose
HATFIELD — Clareta Melanie Rose, 51, of Hatfield died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in an area hospital. She was born Dec. 11, 1952, in DeQueen. She was a housewife and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Wickes.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Daniel Cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil; a son, Fred Rose III of Octavia, Okla.; her mother, Elsie Eason of Mena; two sisters, Geral Funderburk of Mena and Vernie Smith of Cove; three brothers, Philip and Jackie Pearcy, both of Russellville, and Bob Pearcy of Mena; and one grandchild.

Della Shackelford
ROLAND — Della Mae Coker Shackelford, 82, of Roland died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was born July 25, 1922, in Muldrow. She was a retired storekeeper at DX Station in Paw Paw Central and a Methodist.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Muldrow with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.
She is survived by two daughters, Judith Warden of Oklahoma City and Charlene Thornton of Tahlequah, Okla.; a son, DeWayne Shackelford of Roland; two sisters, Opal Jackson of Muldrow and Neva Ford of Moore; four brothers, Frank Coker of Oklahoma City, Sid Coker of Muldrow, Homer Coker of Edmond, Okla., and John Coker of Sand Springs, Okla.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe and Kenneth Thornton, Bobby Prewett, Chris Rasberry, Charles Comstock and Jimmy Jackson.
The body may be viewed from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Hazel Mantooth
PARIS — Hazel I. Mantooth, 97, of Paris died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a retired teacher for the Paris School District and the widow of Robert Mantooth.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Paris.
She is survived by a daughter, Frances Mullins of Sallisaw; a son, Robert Mantooth of Perryton, Texas; a sister, Dorothy Medcalf of Purcell, Okla.; two brothers, Irvin Mullins of Sallisaw and Hugh Mullins of Midwest City, Okla.; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be friends.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Robert L. Brewer
Robert L. Brewer, 90, of Mountainburg died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a self-employed sawmill operator and rock hauler. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.M. Brewer and Lizzie Doss Brewer.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brewer Cemetery in Fern under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Mulberry.
He is survived by a niece, Jerlene Carr of the home; a nephew, Monrow Carr of the home; a sister, Martha and brother-in-law Lewis Oxford of Mulberry; a sister-in-law, Lora Brewer of Mulberry; a brother-in-law, Johnnie F. Harrison of Mountainburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Harrison, Boyd Brewer, J.W. Young, Johnnie Young, Laymon Parker and Oliver McCollum.
The family will visit with friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Sister Mary Paul Rossi
Sister Mary Paul Rossi, 91, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at St. Scholastica Monastery. She was a licensed practical nurse. She made her religious profession June 24, 1932.
Vespers will be 7:30 p.m. today at St. Scholastica Monastery Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Scholastica Monastery Chapel with burial at St. Scholastica Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sisters, Sister Elizabeth Rossi of St. Sholastica and Bernardine Noll of Morrilton; a sister-in-law, Delores Rossie Olshove of Center Ridge; two brothers, Angelo Rossi of Jacksonville and Pete Rossi of Center Ridge; the sisters of her religious community and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Scholastica Continuing Care Fund, P.O. Box 3489, Fort Smith, AR 72913.

Stonewall Jackson “Jack” Conner
Stonewall Jackson “Jack” Conner, firstborn child of Nola B. Vance-Conner and Louis N. Conner, died of heart failure on Dec. 3, 2004, in a Fort Smith hospital. Jack was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on March 6, 1927, and married Marianne Leum-Conner of Milwaukee in Tulsa on Sept. 7, 1952. Their blessed union produced a daughter, Mary Ann Conner-Roache, born on Nov. 4, 1953, in Tulsa. He is survived by his wife, Marianne; daughter Ann; sister Joyce Conner-Minchew and Alice-Ann Conner-Buckman; grandsons Daniel and David Roache; two nieces, five nephews and son-in-law John Roache.
Jack was a beloved husband and father, a faithful Christian, a former elder of the Park Hill Church of Christ and an avid Razorback fan. His life was filled with family, pharmacy and love for the Lord. He was proudest of his parents, wife and daughter and her family. He enjoyed football, basketball, bird watching and family gatherings. He will be greatly missed by his family, but we rejoice that he has finished the course (2 Timothy 4:7-8) and is at peace with God.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Gary O’Kelly, Dave Hopper, Jeff Buckman, Benny Conner, Jerry Taylor and Carl Dolan.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
