Hugh Dennis Gant
Hugh Dennis Gant, 93, of Benton, formerly of Fort Smith died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, in Benton. He was a retired maintenance supervisor for Gordon Transports, a member of the First Baptist Church of Benton, an ordained deacon, a member of the Sebastian Blue Lodge No. 706, the Western Arkansas Consistory, and was a 32nd degree Mason.
He is survived by two sons, Hugh Dennis Gant Jr. and his wife, Dianna, of Benton and Roger Dale Gant and his wife, Cathy, of Watson, Okla.; two grandchildren, Rodney Dell Gant and Courtney Cook and her husband. Roger; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Frances Gant.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery, all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Wallace Floyd Sunday school class of First Baptist Church of Fort Smith.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home today from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m..
Memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 W. 12th, Little Rock, AR 72204; or the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 211 S. Market St., Benton, AR 72015.

Charles B. Brunk Sr.
Charles B. Brunk Sr., 62, of Rye Hill died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, in Fort Smith. He was a Fort Smith city police officer from 1975 to 1977, a Sebastian County patrol officer in 1977, 1978 and 1981, captain of the Detention Center from 1987 to 1996, a member of Faith Baptist Church in Jenny Lind, a veteran of the Army and the Korean War, and a member of the Bowling Association at Bowling World in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Faith Baptist Church in Jenny Lind with burial at Old Jenny Lind Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife, Lois J. Brunk of the home; two daughters, Gina Atkins of Pocola and Chrissey Harris of Fort Smith; four sons, Johnny Brunk of Muldrwow, Charles Brunk Jr. of Muldrow, Jimmy Belue of Fort Smith, and Richard Belue of Lavaca; a sister, Faye Robinson of Van Buren; three brothers, J.C. Morgan of Van Buren, Donald Brunk of Muldrow and Danny Brunk of Muldrow; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be noon to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Sebastian County Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard members. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Sharp, Jim O’Dell, Bob Harkreader, Bob Ross, Homer Dillard, Ray Harvel, Doc Jones and Frank Atkinson.

Reverend Loren Famuliner
KNOXVILLE — The Rev. Loren Edward Famuliner, 68, of Knoxville died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, in his home. He was minister of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. He was pastor in Seattle, Fayette, Corder and Waverly, Mo., Grace Lutheran Church in Clarksville and Zion Lutheran Church in Augsburg.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Jan. 18 at Zion Lutheran Church in Augsburg. Burial will be private. Arrangements under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; two daughters, Rae Gore of Newberg, Ore., and Carol Vincent of Tualatin, Ore.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Augsburg.

Billy Martin
LONGBOAT KEY, Fla. — Billy Joe “Bill” Martin, of Longboat Key died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sarasota, Fla. He graduated from University of Alabama in 1959, worked for Sears Roebuck & Co. for 20 years, and helped launch the Discover Card for Dean Witter. He was chairman of the board of directors of Mountain West Financial and served on the board of directors of Dean Witter Financial Services Group, Discover Bank of Delaware and Ballet West of Salt Lake City. He retired from Morgan Stanley in 1998 as president and COO of Prime Option.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Ala., with burial at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park under the direction of Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel in Tuscaloosa.
He is survived by his wife, Jeane; a daughter, Jennifer Wright of Fort Smith; a son, Jeff Martin of Geneva, Ill.; a sister, Mary Edgil of Atlanta; a brother, John Martin of Birmingham, Ala.; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Matt and Michael Wagner, Jim and Gary Phillips, Doug and Bobby Sealy, Neal and Kenneth McCracken.

Vera Daniel
CLARKSVILLE — Vera Lou Daniel, 80, of Clarksville died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, in her home. She was born June 23, 1924, in Clarksville. She was a member of Jamestown Assembly of God, was co-owner and bookkeeper at South Park Truck Stop and the widow of Jack Daniel.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville.
She is survived by a daughter, Glenda Crutchfield of Yates Center, Kan.; a son, Jackie Daniel of Clarksville; two sisters, Maggie Bly of Hackett and Eula Bly of Clarksville; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be J.W. and Claude Bly, William and Noel Daniel, John Payne and Mitch Crutchfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jamestown Assembly of God, 1531 S. Rogers, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Roy Cowan
DESOTO, Kan. — Roy D. Cowan, 97, of DeSoto, formerly of Ozark, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, in DeSoto. He was born May 31, 1907, in Ozark.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Duncan Cemetery in Ozark.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; two daughters, Gelene Wilkinson of Ozark and Joyce Brown of DeSoto; two sons, Marvin and John Cowan, both of DeSoto; three sisters, Edna Moody of Ozark, Lucy Freeman of Altus, and Cora Childers of England; a brother, Bill Cowan of Ozark; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Roger and Allen Wilkinson, Jerry Cowan, Scott Rudolph and Scott Crosby.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Roberta Miller
HARTFORD — Roberta Leona Patterson Miller, 50, of Hartford died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, in Hartford. She was a certified nursing attendant for the Oaks Nursing Home in Poteau.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hartford Memorial Park under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Hartford.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff; her mother, Arnettie Patterson of Hartford; two sisters, Helen Nelson and Rachaell Patterson, both of Pauls Valley, Okla.; and a brother, Terry Patterson of Hartford.
The body may be viewed 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mary Greene
LITTLE ROCK — Mary Edith Greene, 74, of Little Rock died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005. She was born Nov. 11, 1930. She graduated from Fort Smith Senior High School in 1949 and Draughn’s College, was the first employee of the Patient Business Services, where she was a data management supervisor for over 31 years for UAMS. She managed several restaurants, was one of the first women to be a licensed bail bondsman in Arkansas, and was past president of the state and regional Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion. She was the widow of Robert Greene.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Chapel in Little Rock with burial at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander.
She is survived by a son, Jack Sallee of Little Rock.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Beulah Millsap
MULBERRY — Beulah Ivy Millsap, 93, of Mulberry died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, in Ozark. She was born Oct. 23, 1911, in Mulberry. She was a homemaker, a member of Mulberry Assembly of God and the widow of Lesley Millsap.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mulberry Assembly of God with burial at White Rock Cemetery north of Pleasant View community under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Mulberry.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Clark of Pleasant View and Mary Stewart of Mansfield, Texas; a son, Paul Millsap of Ozark; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John, Chris, Kenny and Michael Millsap, Greg, Ryan and Lance Archer and Mark Peel.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Billy C. Kelton
Billy C. Kelton, 72, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was a mechanic for J.D. Meyers Co., an Army veteran of the Korean War and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans. He received three Bronze Stars. His wife, Verna Wade, preceded him in death.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Jewellyn Gregory of Van Buren and Nancy Carol Mello of Vista, Calif.; two sons, Bill Kelton of Clinton, Okla., and Charles Ray Kelton of Lavaca; a sister, Diane Chatman of Van Buren; three brothers, Ralph Kelton of Van Buren, Karl Kelton of Fort Smith and Dale Kelton of Bloomer; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry and Robert Chatman, Jimmy Don Kelton, Kevin Mello, Stephen Hough and Steven McNeal.

Don Castleberry
Don Castleberry, 65, of Waldron joined his Lord on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born July 12, 1939, in Scott County to Theodore and Louise Beyard Castleberry. He was the retired owner and operator of Castleberry Construction. Don enjoyed building cabinets, clocks, furniture and beautiful bowls for all his friends and family.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron with the Rev. Ricky Hunt and the Rev. Michael Jordan officiating. Burial will be at Pilot Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Don is survived by his wife, Shirley; and a son, Jon David Castleberry of Lexington, Ky. He is also survived by his family, David and Rochelle McConnell of Fayetteville; Shane and Stephanie McConnell of Fayetteville; Clay McConnell of Y City; and five grandchildren.

Sherry Williams
Sherry Mae Williams, 50, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, in her home. She was born May 5, 1954, in Nashville. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church and the Friends class.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, J. Williams; one son, Jason Williams of Fort Smith; her father, B.L. Holder of Fort Smith; and a brother, Charles Holder of Fort Smith.

Aline Bieker
Aline E. Bieker, 87, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fort Smith.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith. Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fort Smith with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Cecillia Young and Janice Ramey, both of Fort Smith; six sons, Patrick Bieker of Augusta, Ga., Rodney, Charlie and Joe Bieker, all of Fort Smith, Johnny Bieker of Pocola and Richard Bieker of Huntington; two sisters, Dorothy Bieker of Pueblo, Colo., and Lucille Rinke of Wichita, Kan.; 25 great-grandchildren and 46 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Raymond, Rob, Michael, Brent and Tommy Bieker, Allen Young and Paark Wolfe.
Honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. until the rosary Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Catholic School or Church, 1820 N. B St., Fort Smith.
