Alberta Lucille Meadows

PARAGOULD -- Alberta Lucille Meadows, 73, of Paragould died Jan. 11, 2006, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

Over the years, she had worked as a sales clerk for Mitchells Ready to Wear, managed a laundromat, worked for Kendall Jetton, and also Clyde Mack Company. She was a member of Third Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Jerry Henson; sisters-in-law, Rosa Reynolds and Mitzie Thompson, both of Paragould; and one grandson, Derek Henson, of Paragould.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert "Dutch" and Maude Thompson Reynolds; brothers, Louis and John Reynolds; and sisters, Inetta Cline, Mary Katherine Smith, and Maudeen McGowan.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shiloh Cemetery, with the Rev. Max Gregory officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. tonight at Heath Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Richard Smith, Ike Smith, Tony Snow, Tim McGowan, Rufus Reynolds, and Julian Reynolds.

Memorials may be made to the Third Avenue Baptist Church.

Tommy Morrisett

MARKED TREE -- Tommy Morrisett, 79, of Marked Tree passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. tonight at First United Methodist Church in Marked Tree, where he was a member for more than 50 years.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at First United Methodist Church in Marked Tree with intermenty following in Marked Tree Cemetery.

Mr. Morrisett, a retired farmer and U.S. Army veteran, was a member of Marked Tree First United Methodist Church and was a lifelong resident of Marked Tree. He was also a salesman at Holly Chevrolet.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Liggett Morrisett of Marked Tree; two daughters, Carolyn Herring of Jonesboro and Terri Clayton of Payneway; one son, Allan Morrisett of Marked Tree; one sister, Sarah Provost of Montgomery, Ala.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials go to the Marked Tree First United Methodist Church or the charity of donor's choice.

Alyeene Nanney

GREENWAY -- Alyeene Nanney, 86, of Greenway passed away Jan. 11 in Jonesboro.

Her husband, Obbie Nanney, preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, Eugene Nanney, and one daughter, Ann Crittenden, both of Greenway; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Dorothy Jackson of Jonesboro, Nina Long of South Lyon, Mich., and Naomi Shaffer of Jonesboro.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Greenway First Baptist Church with David Finley officiating. Burial is in Mitchell Cemetery at Greenway.

Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Mary Ellen Parker

RECTOR -- Mary Ellen Parker was born on May 13, 1929, and passed away on Jan. 11, 2006, at the age of 76.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel of Rector.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery at Rector.

Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector will be in charge of arrangements.

Ruby Lee Cox Pierce

MESA, Ariz. -- Ruby Lee Pierce peacefully passed on to be with the Lord on Jan. 11, 2006.

She was 86 years of age and was born in Pickeh, a former community near Piggott, on Jan. 26, 1919. She had a wonderful and happy marriage for 68 years with her wonderful husband, Alfred Steven Pierce, who had gone on home to heaven on Sept. 2, 2004.

Ruby has seven children, Bill Pierce, who passed on in 1972, Bob and David Pierce of Snowflake, Ariz., Linda Hoffman and her husband Rod of Mesa, John Pierce of Mesa, Debbie Tipton of Mesa, and Betty Wiessman of Glendale, Ariz. Ruby has 22 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Mom's favorite joys of life were her family spending time, camping, and cooking. Mom always had a hug ready; her hospitality was the best. She always sacrificed her needs for those of others. "Mom has been promoted to Glory." Mom, we love you and miss you dearly.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at Bunker's University Chapel, 3529 East University Drive in Mesa and also from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the same location. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at The City of Mesa Cemetery, 1212 North Center Street, in Mesa.

Veda Faye Pratt

SEARCY -- Veda Faye Pratt, 66, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at her home in Searcy.

She was born May 19, 1939, in Cherry Valley to the late Hubert Bullock and Betty Frances Phillips Bullock. She retired June 4, 2004, as a nurse's aid with Hospice Home Care.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Levi and Marshall Bullock.

She is survived by her husband of seven years, Harvey Pratt; a son, Phil Pratt of Bradford; five daughters, Deborah Deason of Cherry Valley, Sherry Walls of Jonesboro, Tara Rose of Florida, Darlene Holt of West Memphis and Glenda Smith of Brookland; two brothers, Roy Bullock of Cherry Valley and Bill Bullock of Mountain View, Mo; three sisters, Vera Suhl and Stella Fuller, both of Cherry Valley, and Erlene Pearson of Rock Island, Ill.; 15 grandchildren, Dennis, Savannah, Tommy, Kenny, Chris, Crystal, Chad, John, Andrew, P.J., Mandy, Michael, Devin, Autumn, and Davis; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, in Searcy-McEuen Chapel followed by a 3 p.m. graveside service at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland.

Reba Wood

PIGGOTT -- Reba Wood, 93, of Piggott passed away Jan. 11 in Piggott. She was united in marriage to the late Thurman D. Wood on Jan. 13, 1929, and to this union two children were born.

She is survived by two daughters, Gerry McCord of Piggott and Helen Merritt of Broseley, Mo.; three grandchildren, Randy McCord of Medford, Ore., Bobby Merritt of White Oak, Mo., and Becky Wilkerson of Dexter, Mo.; five great-grandchildren, Justin, Lauren, Rachel, Alyssa and Gavin; two brothers, Sam Duncan of South Lyon, Mich., and Dewayne Duncan of Arnold, Mo.; and one sister, Dale Crowson of Piggott.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today in the Hoggard Chapel. Burial is in the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of the arrangements.

Annella Wilkerson Adams

BATESVILLE -- Annella Wilkerson Adams, 81, of Batesville died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at Wood Lawn Nursing Home in Batesville.

She was born Jan. 17, 1924, at Grange to John Robert and Ophelia Powell Wilkerson.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Qualls Funeral Service in Batesville, with Bob Dailey officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery at Batesville, with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Service.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Ruby Pauline Burris

WILLIFORD -- Ruby Pauline Burris, 89, of Williford died Saturday, Jan. 14, at Eaglecrest Nursing and Rehab in Ash Flat.

Her husband, Eugene Burris; parents; and sister Elizabeth preceded her in death.

Survivors include a brother, Evan Hamp of Robinson, Ill.; and a sister, Letha Wartsbough of Oblong, Ill.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland, with the Rev. Floyd Rikard officiating.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Mission of Hope in Hardy.

Bonnie C. Prestidge Craft

BEECH GROVE, Ind. -- Bonnie C. Prestidge Craft, 84, died Jan. 12, 2006. She was a resident of Beech Grove.

Mrs. Craft was born Dec. 25, 1921, in Brookland to Thomas and Virgie Bailey Prestidge. She was married to Paul T. Craft Sr. for 44 years until his death in February 1989. She was a homemaker and a talented seamstress as well as a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Mrs. Craft is survived by her daughters, Bobbie Spurgeon and Jenny Honea; a son, Paul T. Craft Jr.; grandchildren, Melissa Lasiter, Andrew Deere, Christine Spurgeon and Amy Craft; great-grandchildren, David and Scott Lasiter, Cassie Deere, Chase Canavan and Alyssa Spurgeon; siblings, Calvin and Edward Prestidge, Bea Antrim, Thelma Lee Earnhart and Georgia Faye Fletcher.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Joseph Craft; and sisters, Pauline Prestidge and Lillian Smith.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Stirling-Gerber Chapel. Entombment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
