Donna Jean May Thompson October 20, 1943 - July 7, 2003

Donna Jean May Thompson was born October 20, 1943 at Springfield, Illinois to Lester Buddy and Shirley Mann May. She married Richard “Dick” Thompson on January 19, 1961 at Jacksonville, Illinois. She moved from Springfield, Illinois to the Promise Land community near Mountain Home in 1975. She was a homemaker and loved crocheting, camping and being with her grandkids. She was past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary. Donna Thompson entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 7, 2003 at University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 59 years, 8 months and 17 days.

Survived by: She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Thompson of Mountain Home; two sons, Richard Dale (Doreen) Thompson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Leland (Lori) Thompson of Calico Rock, Arkansas; one daughter, Lori (Darren) Goulet of Pyatt, Arkansas; one brother, Buddy (Kathy) May of Dixon, Missouri; one sister, Bobbi Jo (Joe) Schmidt of Springfield, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren; four step - grandchildren; one great - grandchild, one step - great - grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 10, 2003 at Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home.

Funeral: Graveside service for Donna Jean Thompson, 59, of Promise Land will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 11, 2003 at Promise Land Cemetery with Pastor Stewert Taylor officiating.

Burial arrangements: Interment in Promise Land Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the 2004 Relay for Life American Cancer Society.

Laurence Parker Thompson August 22. 1923 - June 6, 2003

Laurence Parker Thompson, 79, died Friday, June 6, 2003 at his residence. He was born August 22, 1923 at Vernon, Indiana to Edgar Laurence and Mae Marie Parker Thompson. He married Marian Records at Columbus, Indiana on November 4, 1948. He was a pilot with the US Navy during World War II and Korean War then Reserves for 30 years. He worked as a B47 Test Pilot for Boeing Aircraft for 20 years. He had a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from St. Louis University and was a member of Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association & Fleet Reserve Association. He was a member of United Congregational Church in Huntsville, Alabama.

Survived by: He is survived by his wife Marian; daughters Catherine Zack & husband Alan of Woodland Hills, California and Dorine Dincau & husband Michael of Sylmer, California; 6 grandchildren.

Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Joyce Battin.

Funeral: Private

Memorials: Memorials may be made to St. Judes or Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.

Gloria Tilley 1934 - 2002

Gloria Marie Tilley was born July 26, 1934 at Columbia, Illinois the daughter of Alois Martin Schmidt and Ardell Gertrude Kissen. She married Doyle R. Tilley at Mountain Home, Arkansas on November 29, 1955 and had resided in the Gassville area since moving from Columbia, Illinois in 1985. She died at her residence on July 9, 2002 at the age of 67.

Survived by: Husband, Doyle Tilley, 2 Sons, James David (Pam) Tilley of Gassville, AR and Brian Lee (Lisa) Tilley of Columbia, Illinois; 2 Daughters, Shery Lynn Tilley of Gassville, AR and Lisa (Roger) Knebel of Highland, Illinois; 6 Grandchildren Jason Tilley of Gassville, AR, Cassie & Kirstie Tilley of Columbia, IL, Katie Poynor of Gassville, AR, Shane Tilley of Gassville, AR, Teagan Knebel of Highland, IL; 2 Sisters, Sally Schmidtling and Joan Kohler of Illinois

Taylor Nichole Tolliver June 6, 2002 - June 6, 2002

Infant Taylor Nichole Tolliver died June 6, 2002 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. She was born June 6, 2002 at Mountain Home to Shannon Dale Tolliver and Corrine Elaine Edwards.

Survived by: She is survived by her parents of Mountain Home, sister Faith Edwards of Mountain Home, Paternal Grandparents Johnny and Robin Tolliver of Cotter, Maternal Grandparents James and Susan Frye of Calico Rock, Paternal Great GrandParents Cecil and Vicky Tolliver of Cotter, Maternal Great Grandparents Lester and Wilma Stout of Ash Flat, AR.

Funeral: Graveside Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday June 11, 2002 at Walnut Hill Cemetery with Chaplin Bob Whitehair officiating.

Burial arrangements: Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Walter F. Tomczak June 27, 1912 - November 2, 2002

Walter F. Tomczak was born June 6, 1912 in Chicago, IL. to Stanley F. and Agnes Graczkowski Tomczak. He married to Honoretta D. Wollek July 1, 1940 at Chicago IL., and he was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a Retired Butcher and a Clerk for Tomczak's universal Food Mart. He was a member of St.Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

Touchtone of Tulsa, OK; and daughter, Colleen (Marsidi) Tinus of Temple City, CA; 4 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Dixie Lee Hendricks of Carson, CA, Mary E.(David)Royer of Santa Clarita, CA, Florence Jo (Richard) Carver of Lawndale, CA, and Vivian K. (Gene) Pagel of San Pedro, CA., and a companion Robert Sorter of Mountain Home.

Kenneth Treat 1969 - 2002

Kenneth Charles Treat II was born August 26, 1969 at Mountain Home, Arkansas the son of Kenneth Charles Treat and Ann Chatterton Treat. He was a lifetime resident and a automobile salesman.

Survived by: Parents, Kenneth & Ann Treat of Mountain Home; 1 sister Becki (Eddie) Griffin of Mountain Home; 2 nephews Brandon and Blake Griffin; Paternal grandmother Zetta Treat of Flippin, AR; several aunts, uncles and cousins

Preceded in Death by: Paternal grandfather Floyd; Maternal grandparents Gladys & Minn Chatterton.

Funeral: First Baptist Church on January 31, 2002 at 10:00 AM with Dr. David Johnson officiating.

Harold Stephen Tucker 1918 - 2003

Harold Stephen Tucker was born in Gassville, Arkansas on May 10, 1918 to Russell and Leone Denton Tucker. He was a lifetime resident of Baxter County. He married Delorna “Deke” Walton on April 8, 1937 at Cotter. He was the body shop foreman for the Ford Motor Company for many years. In 1965 he and his son, Gary, opened Harold’s Auto Parts, from which he retired from in 1980. He passed away on Saturday, April 12,2003 at the Gassville Nursing Center at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 2 days.

Survived by: He is survived by his wife, Deke, Three Children; Shirley and Luke Poynter, Gary and Bobbie Tucker, and Steven and Belinda Tucker, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren all of Mountain Home; three sisters Charlene Messick of Mountain Home, Maxine McCabe, and Florine Crowley both of California, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by; his parents, two brothers, Dale and Troy, and one grandson, Phillip Poynter.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, at the First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home with Reverend Jim Brooks, Officiating.

Burial arrangements: burial will be private.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the FUMC building fund, the Diabetes. Foundation, or the Charity of your choice

Honorary Bearers: Members of the Mountain Home Fire Department

Additional Notes: He was an original member of the first Volunteer Fire Department in Mountain Home in the mid 1940’s. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, and gardening.

Jerry Glenn Tufts July 14, 1922 - June 2, 2002

Jerry Glenn Tufts 79, of Bull Shoals died June 2, 2002 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was born July 14, 1922 in Hillsnale, Mich. to Glenn Gerald and Ruth Demondran Tufts. He married Catherine Mangrum in 1957. He was a buyer for Community college and a Navy Veteran of WWII. He moved to Bull Shoals in 1974 from Seatle Washington. He was protestant.

Survived by: He is survived by his wife Catherine Tufts of Bull Shoals.

Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents and a half brother.

Funeral: Services will be Private.

Diane Lynn Turner July 26, 1955 - November 13, 2002

She was born July 26, 1955 at Oak Park, IL to John Ray and June Murphy Turner. She was a resident of Mountain Home, AR since moving from Hoffman Estates, IL in 1987. She enjoyed fishing, reading, baseball and her grandchildren.

Survived by: She is survived by 3 sons - Daniel James Gilliam, Sean Bennett, and David Leatherbarrow; 2 daughters - Elizabeth Hall and Emily Swanson; 2 brothers - J. Michael Turner and Thomas J. Turner, Sr.; 4 grandchildren - Sean David Hall, Misty Brooke Hall, Halen Hall and Lisa Lea Chapman; and Special Friends - Kenny and Joyce McFall, all of Mountain Home.

Preceded in Death by: Parents, 1 Aunt and Father in Law

Funeral: Memorial Service for Diane Lynn Turner, 47, of Mountain Home will be Saturday, 1:00 PM at Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dennis Maley officiating. Diane Turner died on Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at Baxter Regional Medical Center.

She was formerly employed at Ella Thomas for 6 years and worked at Graham's Fashions. She was a pink lady at the hospital. She was a Member of the Twin Lakes Baptist Church.
