JOSEPH TATUM

STAMPS, Ark. - Joseph A. Tatum, 56, of Nashville, Ark., died Friday, June 11, 2004, at his home.

Mr. Tatum was born Jan. 15, 1948, in Saratoga, Ark. He was a member of New Light CME Church, Nashville, and an Army veteran.

Survivors include one daughter, Lawana Griffin; five sisters, Mae D. Tatum of Kansas City, Mo., Lettie Nicholson of Little Rock, Helen Jones of Memphis, Tenn., and Mary Coleman and Martha Kyle of Chicago; and two brothers, Henry Tatum of San Antonio and Samuel Tatum of Texarkana.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Harmony CME Church, Saratoga, with the Rev. Martin S. Warren officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

GEORGE FOSTER

George Booker Foster Sr., 64, of Garland, Ark., died Thursday, June 10, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mr. Foster was born Aug. 15, 1939, in Garland. He was a farmer and a member of Wynn Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Annie L. Foster of Garland; two sons, George Booker Foster Jr. of Texarkana and George Eugene Foster of Garland; four daughters, Gwendolyn Dudley of Carol Stream, Ill., Dwylyne Edwards of Hope, Sandra Foster of Garland and Tina Foster of West Chicago; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Foster of Oakland, Calif.; one brother, Booker Foster Jr. of Texarkana; 17 grandchildren; and five great - grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lanesport Baptist Church, Garland, with the Rev. Donnie Dudley officiating. Burial will be in Wynn Cemetery under direction of Lyles Funeral Home.

The body may be viewed from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

MONA SHELTON

DE QUEEN, Ark. - Mona Lee Branson Shelton, 46, of Gillham, Ark., died Monday, June 14, 2004. She was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Alisha Leanne Shelton and Jenny Lynn Shelton.

Mrs. Shelton was born Sept. 25, 1957, in Durango, Colo. She was co - owner of Cornerstone Monuments, De Queen, and a member of First United Methodist Church, Gillham, and Gillham School Alumni.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene Shelton; two sons, Christopher Lee Shelton and Cameron Bradley Shelton of Gillham; her parents, W.J. and Estalee Branson; three sisters, Marilyn Branson Ferguson, Beth Ann Branson Ward and Jeanette Branson Lemke; one brother, Jim Branson; and a number of other relatives.

Wake services will be 5 p.m. Saturday at Cossatot Reefs, Gillham Lake. Arrangements are under direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

TIMOTHY WILLIAMS

HOPE, Ark. - Timothy "Tim" Williams, 41, of Hope, died Monday, June 14, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mr. Williams was born Oct. 29, 1962, in Hope. He was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church, Hope.

Survivors include his wife, Estell Williams of Hope; one son, Damon Williams; three daughters, Laquisha, Monica and Kaybro; 11 sisters, Lula Dewberry, Monica Perry, Allison Mitchell and Mary Moore of Los Angeles; Emma Monk, Odessa Muldrew, Betty Smith and Cora Pickens of Hope, May Williams and Rene Bell Williams of Dallas and Nancy Jones of Nashville, Ark.; six brothers, Richard Williams of Hope, Scott Williams Jr. and Billy Fred Williams of Dallas, Eddie Lee White and Kevin Maxwell of Los Angeles and Mike Williams of Oklahoma; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Rising Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Andre Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Scotts Memorial Garden, Perrytown, Ark., under direction of Hicks Funeral Home.

The body may be viewed from noon to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

STEPHANIE STEADERMAN

DE QUEEN, Ark. - Stephanie Sue Coulter Steaderman, 55, of Lockesburg, Ark., died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mrs. Steaderman was born July 18, 1948, in Longview, Texas. She was a teacher for De Queen and Texarkana, Ark., schools and a member of First United Methodist Church, Lockesburg.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Steaderman; her mother, Mary L. McGee Coulter of Lockesburg; one daughter, Stephanie Murphy of Dallas; two brothers, Steve H. Coulter of Houston and Charles M. Coulter of Lockesburg; four grandchildren; and three nephews.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Lockesburg, with the Rev. Lynn McClure officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

MARY HARRISON

STAMPS, Ark. - Mary Edna Harrison, 87, of Stamps, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mrs. Harrison was born Feb. 10, 1917, in Lafayette County, Ark. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Stamps.

Survivors include one son and daughter - in - law, Jesse and Brenda Beene of Stamps; four daughters and two sons - in - law, Ester and C.P. Baker, Mary Smith and Barbara Freedman of Stamps and Daisy and R.L. Dudley of Lake Erling, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great - grandchildren; and two great - great - grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Liberty Baptist Church with W.D. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

CHARLES MURRY

DE QUEEN, Ark. - Charles Raymond Murry, 61, of De Queen died Thursday, June 10, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mr. Murry was born Feb. 13, 1943, in Texarkana, Texas. He was retired from Domtar, Ashdown, Ark., and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Halter Murry of De Queen; two daughters, Anna Bivins of De Queen and Beth Blocker of Haworth, Okla.; one son, Charlie Tallant of De Queen; three brothers, Glen Murry of Gillham, Ark., and Tommy Murry and Jimmy Murry of Winthrop, Ark.; one sister, Betty Hinton of Winthrop; three grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Chandler Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mount Ida Cemetery.

JEANETTE HARRIS

STAMPS, Ark. - Jeanette Harris, 41, of Stamps died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, in a Hot Springs, Ark., hospital.

Ms. Harris was born Dec. 29, 1962, in Lewisville, Ark. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church, Lewisville.

Survivors include two daughters, Shareka Harris and LaKita Harris of Stamps; her parents, John Harris Jr. and Mattie Cornelious Bradford; one sister, Debbie Mack of Little Rock; two brothers, Billy Harris Jr. of Stamps and Johnny Harris of Bradley, Ark.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. John Jeffery Harris officiating.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

GEORGE SMITH JR.

STAMPS, Ark. - George Cleveland Smith Jr., 85, of Texarkana, Ark., died Thursday, June 10, 2004, in a local nursing home.

Mr. Smith was born March 16, 1919, in Lafayette County, Ark. He was a real estate salesman and a member of Highland Church of Christ and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Smith.

Survivors include two brothers, Robert C. Smith of Lonoke, Ark., and Doyle Smith of Lewisville, Ark.; two sisters, Lucy Smith Dorough and Helen Jackson of Texarkana; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 3 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home with Chris Hooten officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery, Lewisville.

Memorials may be made to Southern Christian Home, Morrilton, Ark., or Children's Homes, Paragould, Ark.

VERNA WILLIAMSON

HOPE, Ark. - Verna Jean White Williamson, 51, of Ozan, Ark., died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, in Ozan, Ark.

Mrs. Williamson was born Dec. 8, 1952, in Ozan. She was a member of St. Luke CME Church.

Survivors include her husband, Roger L. Williamson Jr.; three sons, Jason Williamson of Seneca, S.C., Derrick Williamson of Fort Knox, Ky., and Roger "Shug" Williamson III of Fayetteville, Ark.; two brothers, Maryland White of Nashville, Ark., and Kenneth White of Ashdown, Ark.; five sisters, Virginia Johnson, Johnnie Swift and Polly Madlock of Ozan, Willie Hearon of Nashville and Helen Barbe of Chicago; five grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. today at St. Luke CME Church, Ozan, with the Rev. Anretha Walker officiating. Burial will be in St. Luke Cemetery.

RICHARD LICHLYTER

DE QUEEN, Ark. - Richard Harold "Dick" Lichlyter, 72, of Wickes, Ark., died Friday, June 11, 2004, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mr. Lichlyter was born April 13, 1932, in Eleria, Ohio. He was retired from the Postal Service and the Air Force and a member of Wickes Nazarene Church and Wickes Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Fitz Lichlyter; one son, Vince Lichlyter of Farmington, Ark.; two daughters, Sandra Kocker of North Canton, Ohio, and Rene Lichlyter of Hilton Head, S.C.; brothers and sisters, Joseph Lichlyter of Lyon, Ore., Serena Rogers of Benton, Ark., Janelle Hopson of Mill City, Ore., Lucian Lichlyter of Ohio and Thomas Lichlyter, David Lichlyter and Tammy Jo Lichlyter of Texarkana; four grandchildren; and one great - grandchild.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Wickes Nazarene Church with Tony Usery and Byron Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Grannis Cemetery under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

James C. Burroughs, 73, of Texarkana, Ark., died Friday, June 11, 2004, in Joliet, Ill.
