Lucille Hill

JONESBORO -- Mrs. Lucille Hill, 80, of Jonesboro, formerly of Bay, departed this life on Sunday.

She was born Dec. 17, 1925, at Bay, the daughter of William Eustus Knight and Celia Brown Knight. She married J.C. Hill in 1942, and they enjoyed 56 years together before he died in 1998.

She was a member of the Bay Assembly of God and a retired employee of Singer. She loved her family and taking care of people.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Jim Hill; and eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Hill of Lyles, Tenn., Cleveland "Doc" Hill of Harrisburg and Jerry Hill of Fariview, Tenn.; two daughters, Sharon Heath and Judy Hill, both of Jonesboro; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Weston Funeral Service Chapel at Harrisburg. Interment will follow in Pine Log Cemetery at Brookland.

Friends may visit at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Bobby Junior Phillips

DYESS -- Bobby Junior Phillips, 63, of Dyess died Nov. 25 in Crittenden Memorial Hospital at West Memphis.

Survivors include wife, Norma Jean Phillips of Dyess; very special friend, Wanda Lackey of Manila; daughters, Rhonda Phillips of Senatobia, Miss., Deborah Phillips of Dyess and Shawnda Phillips of Manila; stepdaughter, Kim Robertson of Dyess; son, Bobby Allen Phillips of Manila; stepson, Justin Robertson of Dyess; sisters, Liz Hasley of Carlisle, Cleo Carroll of Lepanto, Nancy Cash and Yvonne Howard, both of Byhalia, Miss.; brothers, Ed Coleman of Tyronza and William Sipes of Texas; and grandchild, Justin Phillips of Osceola.

He was preceded in death by parents, Grady Phillips and Mandy Mayo Sipes and grandchild, Wendy Phillips.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today in Wilson Funeral Home at Osceola with Keith Stokes officiating. Burial is in Potters at Lepanto.

Visitation was Monday.

Valerie Diane Rodden

JONESBORO -- Valerie Diane Foster Rodden, 24, of Jonesboro died Saturday, Nov. 25, in St. Bernards Medical Center.

She was born in Shreveport, La., on Feb. 5, 1982.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Diane Nuckles Foster and her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Rodden.

Survivors include her husband, Travis Lee Rodden, and their son, Tyler Ray Rodden, both of the home; her father, Alan Foster of Greenbriar; a half-brother, Quinten Andrusia of Shreveport; maternal grandparents, Thurman Ray and Shirley Brewer Nuckles of Harrisburg; paternal grandparents, Andy and Theresa Andrusia of Shreveport; her great-grandmother, Lucille Brewer Tidwell of Jonesboro; and her father-in-law, David Smith of Caraway.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Jolly officiating.

Honored to serve as active pallbearers are Rusty Tullos, Jesse Lyles, Brian Clemonts, Damont Clemonts, Jeremy Meister and Dan Harvey; and as honorary pallbearer, Shawn Swick.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today in the Orchid Room in Gregg Funeral Home at Jonesboro.

Billy Ray Rudd

VILONIA -- Mr. Billy Ray Rudd, 31, of Vilonia died in a 1-vehicle accident on Nov. 22, 2006.

He was born June 17, 1975, at Blytheville, the son of Bill and Lynda Wynn Rudd of Weiner and Vilonia. He worked for Sears and was a Christian. He loved hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling and spending time with his daughter.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Evalee Rudd, and Reuben and Ada Wynn.

He is survived by one daughter, Shelby Paige Rudd of the home; his parents, Bill Rudd and Lynda Rudd; two brothers, David Scott Rudd of Oklahoma City and Josh Rudd of Hot Springs; one sister, Wendi Marshall of Jacksonville; and his grandfather, Willie Rudd of Weiner. He is also survived by several nieces; nephews; uncles; aunts; cousins; and a very special friend, Danielle Bornhoft, and her three children of Gravel Ridge.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Weston Funeral Service Chapel at Harrisburg. Interment will follow in Tyronza Cemetery.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.

Mark Allen Taylor

SUCCESS -- Mark Allen Taylor, 35, of Success died Nov. 26, 2006.

He was a farmer and a member of the Palatka Church of Christ.

Survivors include his father and mother, Johnnie and Mary Smart Taylor; one daughter, Brooke Taylor of Corning; one brother, Clay Taylor and wife, Nicole, of Success; grandparents Bud and Geraldine Taylor of Success; grandmother, Mary Lou Smart of Paragould; two nieces, Ally and Maddy Taylor; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Homer Gene Smart, and one cousin, Charay Richmond.

Visitation will be today from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in Ermert Funeral Home Chapel at Corning with funeral services following at 1 p.m.

Henry Lee Wiggs

ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- Henry Lee Wiggs, 84, of St. Charles died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, in St. Joseph Health Center.

A Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Wiggs was born Aug. 21, 1922, in Greene County and retired as a foreman for Terminal Railroad. He was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Charles, the Transportation Communications International Union, and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8888. He was owner of Henry's Tool Center in downtown St. Charles.

Survivors include his wife, Willodean Wiggs of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Henry Paul and Debbie Wiggs, and Phillip Houston and Cindy Bichsel Wiggs, all of St. Charles. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Lee and Becky Ann Butler Wiggs; and by one daughter, Pamela Ann Wiggs.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today in Mitchell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Gene Wright officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of St. Charles, Muegge Road, St. Charles; the American Lung Association or the American Heart Fund also would be appreciated.

Hugh Edwin Wolfe Jr.

PARAGOULD -- Hugh Edwin "Tody" Wolfe Jr., 79, of Paragould died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, in Greene Acres Nursing and Rehab.

He was retired from GTE Telephone Co. and was a member of West View Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Helen Clark Wolfe Sr.; and brothers, Robert and William Wolfe.

Survivors include a sister, Virginia Highfill of Paragould; and two brothers, James Wolfe of Paragould and Donald Wolfe of Apple Valley, Calif.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Linwood Cemetery with the Rev. Marc Reeves officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday in Heath Funeral Home.

W.A. Young Sr.

HEBER SPRINGS -- W.A. Young Sr., 83, of Heber Springs died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006.

He was born on June 28, 1923, at Salado and was the son of Lafayette Harrison and Audrey Hegeman Young. He retired from Southwestern Bell after 26 years. He was a Navy veteran serving during World War II. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Tumbling Shoals and was also involved with many different businesses in the Jonesboro area.

He is survived by his sons, Dr. W.A. Young Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla., and Phillip Young of Mountain Home; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother; one sister and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Lee Mitchum Young; a brother, Melvin Young; and a sister, Betty Brane.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. today in Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel at Batesville.

Visitation will be from 1:30-2 p.m. today.

Bill W. Bowers

SHERWOOD -- Bill W. Bowers, 68, of Sherwood passed away Monday, Dec. 4, 2006.

He was a retired lieutenant colonel in the Army National Guard and a retired state employee, Camp Robinson, North Little Rock.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla White-Bowers of Sherwood; mother, Vida Bowers, of Mountain Home; three sisters, Carolyn Camp and husband Wayne of Mountain Home, Berniece Rogers of Van Buren, and Betty Smith and husband Claude of Jonesboro; three stepchildren, Beth White-Serbousek of North Little Rock, Greg White and wife Renee of Bella Vista, and Michael White and wife Vanessa of Fayetteville; and four step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter W. Bowers.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas National Kidney Foundation, 1818 North Taylor St., Suite 186, Little Rock 72207.

Funeral services will be held at noon today in North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
