BLYTHEVILLE — Michael Maddox, 34, Blytheville, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at NEA Hospital in Jonesboro.
He was born to William and Carolyn Gurno Maddox in Blytheville. His father and grandfather preceded him in death.
His mother and stepfather, Carolyn Jean Gurno and Danny Rounsavall; grandmother, Dorothy Gurno; brothers, Gary Maddox, Terry Maddox and Brian Maddox; stepbrothers, Robb Rounsavall and Mark Rounsavall and stepsister, Jane King, all survive him.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 in the funeral home.
Donald Wayne Malden
POCAHONTAS — Donald Wayne Malden, 31, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas.
He survived by his mother, Joyce Malden of Pocahontas; two brothers, Earnest Malden of Pocahontas and Patrick Malden of Portia; and two nieces, Clarissa and Kassie Malden.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harllis; and sister, Vicky Malden.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m.
David Dorman and Patrick Malden will be officiating.
Odis Odell McDonald
JONESBORO — Odis Odell McDonald, 76, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro.
He was born at Lake City to the late John and Lettie McDonald. He was a manager at a window manufacturing company. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Palm Beach Garden, Fla., and the Order of United Commercial Travelers of America. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Julene McDonald of the home; a son, Ronald Lee McDonald of Wetmore, Colo.; a daughter, Donna McDonald Pickering of Jonesboro; a grandson, Kyle McDonald of Wetmore; and two sisters, Betty Foster and Jewell Newton, both of Jonesboro.
He is also preceded in death by three sisters, Bernice Hensley, Opal Knobbs and Ruth Turnipseed.
A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Gregg Funeral Home Chapel with Chuck Gschwend officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery
under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 in Gregg Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Bob Biship, Harry Daraby, Bill Clark, Gary Mills, Norman Price and Brian Coleman.
Barbara Sue Melton
WALNUT RIDGE — Barbara Sue Melton, 63, of Walnut Ridge, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, at her home.
She was born Dec. 6, 1943, in the Fontaine Community near Walnut Ridge, daughter of Ralph and Paralee Dean Taylor. She was a lab tech for Arkansas Glass Container where she worked for 37 years and was of the Baptist belief.
Barbara loved to spend time spoiling her great-grandchildren, working in her yard, tending her flowers and listening to gospel and bluegrass music. She looked forward to reuniting with her beloved husband with whom she shared her heart and her life since the age of 13. She had a heart of gold and made everyone whose path crossed hers feel special for having known her. She will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind.
She was united in marriage to Calvin Melton on Nov. 21, 1960, who preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Paralee Taylor.
Survivors include a daughter, Pam Foreman of Walnut Ridge; a son, Marty Melton and wife Denise of Jonesboro; three granddaughters, Amber Mitchell and husband Jimmy, Reena Elliott and Brandy Foreman, all of Jonesboro; a grandson, Matt Melton and wife Dana of Jonesboro; four great-grandsons, Zach Melton, Ryan Massey, Cody Mitchell and McCartney Foreman; a great-granddaughter, Holly Mitchell, all of Jonesboro; two sisters, Juanita Foster of Sedgwick and Linda Rodgers of Jonesboro; a brother, Junior Taylor of Jonesboro; and her mother-in-law, Clara Melton of Walnut Ridge. She also leaves behind many beloved friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Bryan Funeral Home Chapel with Kenny Johnson officiating. Active pallbearers will be Marty Melton, Matt Melton, Jimmy Mitchell, Randy West, Doug Melton and Douglas Melton. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Taylor, Josh Taylor, Terry Colburn, Tony West, Charles Foster and Ranny Rodgers. Interment will be in Markham Cemetery
under direction of Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.

Winford H. ‘Pete’ Mixon
TRUMANN — Winford Hays “Pete” Mixon, 78, of Trumann died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, in NEA Medical Center at Jonesboro.
Born at Jackson, Miss., he had lived at Trumann for the past 56 years and was formerly of Marked Tree. He was a retired employee of the former Singer Company and Roach Manufacturing in Trumann and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Mixon was preceded in death by four sisters; three brothers; and his parents, Hillard Monroe and Ellie Eunice Todd Mixon.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Bonnie Lavanda Cook Mixon of the home; one daughter, Lavanda Jo Mixon of Trumann; one son, Steven Hays Mixon and his wife Beverley of Trumann; one grandson, Steven Hays Mixon II of Trumann; two brothers, Carl Mixon of Tulare, Calif., and Charles Mixon of Little Rock.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in First Baptist Church of Trumann with Dr. Tad Rogers, the Rev. Jamison May and the Rev. Brett Witcher officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.
Pallbearers will be Robert Earl McGowan, Michael McGowan, Joe Mixon, Scott Mixon, Wayne Ward, Johnny Ward, David Ward and Grayson Mixon.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of First Baptist Church.

Bobby ‘Shane’ Pilgram
BLYTHEVILLE — Mr. Bobby “Shane” Pilgram, 27, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, in Great River Medical Center at Blytheville.
Born Jan. 23, 1980, at Jonesboro to Ronnie Pilgram and Judith Darlene Gaylord Crickenberger, Mr. Pilgram was a longtime area resident, farmer and enjoyed spending time with his children.
Survivors include his companion of 10 years and mother of Brett and Andrea, Devon Taylor of Blytheville; parents, Ronnie Pilgram of Gosnell and Darlene Crickenberger and husband Steve of Ottawa, Kan.; two sons, Brett Pilgram of Blytheville and Hunter Pilgram of Dyess; one daughter, Andrea Pilgram of Blytheville; one brother, Mark Hill of Jonesboro; one stepbrother, Matt Hill of Cabot; one stepsister, Amy Padres of Jonesboro; and one grandfather, William Pilgram of Osceola.
Mr. Pilgram was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Bethel Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of Osceola with the Rev. Bobby Tidwell officiating. Burial will follow in Marie Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. in Bethel Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

PARAGOULD — Juanita Vowell, 85, of Paragould died Sunday morning at Paragould Health and Rehab Center.
She was the widow of O. Edgar Vowell.

Clifton Odell York Sr.
RECTOR — Clifton Odell York Sr., 62, of Rector, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at his home in Rector.
He was born Aug. 12, 1945, to the late James Odell York and Mary Estes “Hood” York in Logan County, Kentucky.
He is survived his wife, Patricia York of Rector; two sons, Clifton York Jr. of Hot Springs and William Benton York of Hughes; four daughters, Sherry York of Nashville, Tenn., Vicky York of Fairview, Tenn., and Mary Sanders and Jennifer Berry, both of Rector; and one brother, James Willie York Sr. of Rector.
Visitation is scheduled today at 6 p.m. in Irby Funeral Home Chapel at Rector.

HOXIE — Opal Arnold, 90, of Hoxie passed away Sunday.
Survivors include a son, Billy Arnold of Paragould; two grandsons, David and Jason Arnold of Paragould; two granddaughters, Linda Williams of Cardwell, Mo., and Carolyn Barrett of Walcott; four great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.
Graveside service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Marion Gramling officiating. Family and friends will be pallbearers. Interment will be in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.

Ruth Edna Barber
BLYTHEVILLE — Mrs. Ruth Edna Barber, 81, of Blytheville died Sunday at her home.
She leaves her children, Timmy Barber, Jimmy Dickerson and Ann Maupin, all of Blytheville, Wayne Barber and Barry Lee Barber, both of Steele, Mo., and Vicki Cain of Blytheville; brother, Tom Oelsen of Salem, Mo.; sisters, Anita Dickerson of Summerville, Ga., Irene Neier of Memphis and Olga Teller of St. Louis; 18 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Cobb Funeral Home at Blytheville with visitation from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Benjamin Bonham Jr.
HARRISBURG — Mr. Benjamin Franklin Bonham Jr. of Harrisburg departed this life on Monday, Sept. 10, at his home, at the age of 83. He was born Feb. 28, 1924, in Harrisburg, the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Bonham Sr. and the late Ida Bonham. He was a retired technician for General Electric and also worked 12 years for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrisburg and in his younger years enjoyed motorcycling, horseback riding and loved his garden.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Edwards Bonham; one daughter, Pamela Faye Bonham; three brothers, Sidney Bonham, Enoch Bonham and Floyd Bonham; and a grandson, Kevin Peridore.
He is survived by one son, Tony Bonham and his wife Glenda of Harrisburg; one stepdaughter, Glenda Junkin and her husband Bill of Harrisburg; one brother, Robert Bonham of Mountain Home; five grandchildren, Tony Bonham Jr., Will Bonham, Ryder Bonham, Ricky Craft and Connie VanHoozer; and two great-grandchildren, Byron Griffin and Clarissa Griffin.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Weston Funeral Service Chapel in Harrisburg with the Revs. Captain Lovell and Jerry Kausler officiating.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday evening, 6-8 p.m.
