GLADYS WILLIAMS

STAMPS, Ark. - Gladys Lucille Williams, 69, of Rockford, Ill., died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, in a Rockford care center.

Ms. Williams was born Sept. 8, 1934, in Rosston, Ark. She was employed with Atwood Mobile Products, Rockford, and a member of Miles Memorial CME Church.

Survivors include her mother, Icephine Williams of Rosston; five sisters, Jesteen Thompson and Margaret Gordon of Rockford, Ruthenia Rigsby and Lindeen Williams of Rosston and Juvonda Childs of Lancaster, Texas; one brother, Henry Lee Williams of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Pine Grove CME Church, Rosston. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

LYNN SEWELL

STAMPS, Ark. - Lynn William Sewell, 83, of Lewisville, Ark., died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at his home.

Mr. Sewell was born Feb. 17, 1920, in Lafayette County, Ark. He was retired from Cooper Tire Co. and a member of Lewisville Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Lula Belle Ivers Sewell of Lewisville; two sons, Eugene Sewell of Mansfield, La., and Neal Sewell of Lewisville; five grandchildren, David Sewell and Stacy Sewell of Dallas, Danny Sewell of Mansfield, Dennis Sewell of Shreveport, La., and Shelby Sewell of Houston; and nine great - grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Harley Sisson officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery, Lewisville.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

JACFUS PARISH SR.

Jacfus "Big Daddy" Parish Sr., 79, of Texarkana, Ark., died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mr. Parish was born July 21, 1924, in Plain Dealing, La. He was a retired truck driver, retired from Pinkerton Security, owner of Big Daddy's BBQ and other barbecue businesses, member and deacon of College Hill Baptist Church and a World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ophelia Parish.

Survivors include his wife, Vera Lee Parish of Texarkana; five sons, Curtis Parish of Shreveport, La., Jacfus Parish Jr. of Tulsa, Okla., Willie Washington Jr. of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Oscar Washington and George Washington of Texarkana; five daughters, Helen Threadgill of Shreveport, Sodonia Paris of Las Vegas, Margaret Johnson and Mary Cleveland of Texarkana and Yvonne Hannon of North Carolina; one brother, Sip Parish of Shreveport; 25 grandchildren; 30 great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Canaan Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifton Murray officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens under direction of Lyles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

HOMER COMBS

De QUEEN, Ark. - Homer Madison Combs, 93, of Wickes, Ark., died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mr. Combs was born Oct. 14, 1910, in Canandiaqua, N.Y. He was the former fire chief of Wickes Fire Department, a member of Wickes Methodist Church, Masonic Grand Lodge of Arkansas and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Musgrave - Hankins Post 10484 and a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christa Bell Sumner Combs, in 1990.

Survivors include one daughter, Laura Covenesky of Oahu, Hawaii; one son, Homer Combs Jr. of Oahu; and four special friends, Ken and Marilyn Kring of Lexington, Neb., and Joe and Joan Compagna of Wickes.

Arrangements are under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Wickes United Methodist Church youth ministry.

EMMA DAVIS

STAMPS, Ark. - Emma R. Davis, 53, of Stamps died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, in a Texarkana hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Smith Funeral Home.

AMALIA WATKINS

Amalia "Molly" Johnson Watkins, 86, of Mount Ida, Ark., died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, in a Mount Ida nursing home.

Mrs. Watkins was born May 18, 1917, in Texarkana, Texas. She was the retired payroll supervisor of Rockwell International, a volunteer for the American Red Cross and a member of First United Methodist Church, Arkansas, where she helped found the Mongomery Class and Rosalind Circle, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Watkins Jr., in 1989.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Watkins Holick of Hot Springs Village, Ark., and Barbara Watkins Bowen of Caddo Gap, Ark.; and two grandchildren, Christopher Tait Holick and Sean Nichols Bowen of Hot Springs, Ark.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today in East Memorial Gardens with Dr. Herbert Wren officiating. Burial will be under direction of East Funeral Home, Downtown.

Memorials may be made to Montgomery County Nursing Home Memorial, P.O. Box 1208, 741 South Drive, Mount Ida, Ark., 71957, or Alzheimer of Arkansas.

LARUE WEEKS

PRESCOTT, Ark. - LaRue Weeks, 59, of Athens, Texas, formerly of Emmet, Ark., died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at her home.

Mrs. Weeks was born Oct. 10, 1944, in Hope, Ark. She was an administrative assistant and a Christian.

Survivors include three sons, Christopher Weeks of Athens, Jason Weeks of Kaufman, Texas, and Todd Weeks of Plano, Texas; her mother, Helen Joyce Booker of Emmet; one brother, Don Booker of Little Rock; three sisters, Amber Hughes of Prescott, Bonnie Breeding of Hope and Tamera Spell of Emmet; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Emmet First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Charles Pirtle and Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Burial will be in Snell Cemetery, Emmet, under direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

VINCENT AARON

STAMPS, Ark. - Vincent A. Aaron, 89, of Texarkana, Ark., died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mr. Aaron was born Jan. 28, 1915, in Garland City, Ark. He was a retired hotel manager and a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include one brother, Thomas H. Aaron Jr. of El Dorado, Ark.; two nieces, Wanda Lowe of Grandbury, Texas, and Mary Helen Lane of Lafayette, La.; three nephews, Robert Aaron and Richard Aaron of El Dorado and Andy Collier of LaPlace, La.; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Pelz officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery, Lewisville, Ark.

JACK COLEMAN

ASHDOWN, Ark. - Jack Coleman, 70, of Ashdown died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, in Ashdown.

Mr. Coleman was born July 15, 1933, in Foreman, Ark. He was a coach, a Mason, a member of Arkansas and Texas teachers and coaches associations and an Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Coleman of Ashdown; two sons and daughters - in - law, Richard and Jennifer Coleman of DeKalb, Texas, and Chris and Blair Coleman of Camden, Ark.; two daughters and sons - in - law, Belinda and Rocky Kopplin of Three Rivers, Texas, and Jackie and Brandon Gabbert of Texarkana; two sisters, Carolyn Coleman of Ashdown and Sue Hawkins of Texarkana; and six grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Srygley officiating. Burial will be in Marvin Cemetery, Wallace, Ark., under direction of Madden Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation, 5111 E. 21st St. N., Wichita, Kan., 67203.

BETTY RUSSELL

De QUEEN, Ark. - Betty Jean Fox Russell, 67, of De Queen died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, in a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital.

Mrs. Russell was born Feb. 26, 1936, in Arkinda, Ark. She was retired from De Queen School System and a member of Friends of the Library and Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Harvey E. Russell of De Queen; one daughter and son - in - law, Dana and Will Bowers of Mena, Ark.; one brother, Bill Fox of Mena; one grandson, Caleb Bowers of Mena; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David McCord and the Rev. Wesley Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in Redmen Cemetery.

JAMES WHALA

ASHDOWN, Ark. - James Robert Whala, 41, of Denton, Texas, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, in Denton.

Mr. Whala was born Dec. 2, 1962, in Houston. He was a volunteer for public radio and a Methodist.

Survivors include his parents, Jimmy and Ernestine Whala of Ashdown; one sister and brother - in - law, Stacey and Tom Lenny of Loveland, Colo.; two nephews, Jack Lenny and Griffin Lenny of Loveland; two aunts, Gene Hedgecock of Tulsa, Okla., and Nora Price of Ashdown; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Elaine Hedgecock Johnson officiating.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer, American Heart or American Diabetes. associations.

BROCK DAVIDSON

PRESCOTT, Ark. - Brock Arthur Davidson, infant son of William Arthur and Linda Graham Davidson of Texarkana, Ark., died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, in a Little Rock hospital.

Brock was born Jan. 28, 2004, in Little Rock.

Other survivors include one brother, William M. "Mac" Davidson of Texarkana; one sister, Candice Barkley of Texarkana; his grandfather, Bobby Graham of Prescott; and a number of other relatives.

Private graveside services were Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, in Missionary Grove Cemetery with Bishop Platt officiating. Burial was under direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home.

KIMBERLY MORRISON

HOPE, Ark. - Kimberly Ann Morrison, 35, of Hope died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, in a Little Rock hospital.

Ms. Morrison was born Oct. 8, 1968, in Santa Monica, Calif.

Survivors include her parents, Clarence and Essie Morrison of Hope; one sister, Gayle Golden of Wichita Falls, Texas; three brothers, Gregory Morrison of Little Rock, Michael Morrison of Sebastian, Fla., and Ray Morrison of Toledo, Ohio; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness with Ben Owens officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, DeAnn, Ark.

ANNETTE WILLIAMS

HOPE, Ark. - Annette Williams, 65, of Hope died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at her home.

Mrs. Williams was born May 20, 1938, in Franklin County, Miss. She was an employee of Hope High School and a member of the Church of God. She was preceded in death by a son, Winford Carl Williams III,

Survivors include her husband, W.C. "Jack" Williams of Hope; one son and daughter - in - law, Chris and Anne Williams of Prescott, Ark.; two daughters and sons - in - law, Kim and Donnie Johnson of Natchez, Miss., and LaJada and Thomas Miller of Hope; one brother and sister - in - law, Linus and Betty Mullins of Natchez; one sister, Trilla Mullins of Natchez; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Ragan officiating. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Natchez City Cemetery, Natchez, with the Rev. Julius Roberts officiating.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ELSIE ELMORE

PRESCOTT, Ark. - Elsie Mae Ridgell Elmore, 91, of Prescott died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, in Hope, Ark.

Mrs. Elmore was born Dec. 20, 1912, in Prescott. She was a homemaker and a member of Boughton Baptist Church, Nevada County, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Harold Elmore; and one grandchild, Harold Allison.

Survivors include two sons, Eppie Elmore of Winnsboro, Texas, and Tommy Elmore of Montrose, Ark.; two daughters, Martha Ann Allison of Hamburg, Ark., and Cat Jester of Prescott; one brother, Joe Ridgell of Sulphur Springs, Texas; two sisters, Evelyn Hooks of Prescott and Katie Pittman of Fort Worth, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 20 great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neal Ridling officiating. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery, Boughton, Ark.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
