Jessica Aldean Morrison
BAY — Jessica Aldean Morrison, 84, of Bay died Friday morning, Sept. 26, at her son’s home at Jonesboro.
She was born at Baldwyn, Miss., on Feb. 4, 1924, to the late Ira and Mae Gentry, and lived most her life in Bay.
She was a graduate of Bay High School and Arkansas State College and spent 38 years in elementary classrooms, 33 of which were in Bay Public Schools. She also taught in Hornersville and Steele, Mo. She was a recipient of the Arkansas Excellence in Education Award and was truly loved by her former students.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bay.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Edgar Morrison; her son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Jan Morrison; her grandchildren and spouses, Matt and Alison Morrison, Michael and Kimberly Morrison and Meredith and Justin Wills; her great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jillian and Maddox Morrison, all of Jonesboro; and two sisters, Geneva Stotts of Maynard and Joni Moody of Bay.
Graveside funeral services will be Sunday afternoon at 2 in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery
with the Rev. Dan Morrison officiating.
Visitation will be tonight from 5-7 in Emerson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Bay First Baptist Church or St. Bernards Hospice.
Jeanne Lewis Passmore
JONESBORO — Jeanne Lewis Passmore, 49, of Jonesboro died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at her home.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Emerson Funeral Home.
BLACK ROCK — Coy Richey, 85, of Black Rock died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock.
He was born Nov. 20, 1922, at Eaton to the late Elmer H. and Alice Tretenburg Richey.
Mr. Richey was united in marriage to Shirley Smith on Dec. 8, 1947. He was a self-employed dairy farmer and member of the Church of Christ of Eaton.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Richey of Black Rock; two sons, Steve Richey of Cherokee Village and Coy Lavon Richey of Forrest City; two sisters, Opal Murphy of Marysville, Calif., and Hazel Hubbard of Walnut Ridge; two brothers, J.W. Richey and Lloyd Richey, both of Eaton; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Richey was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, O.D. Richey and J.D. Richey.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Higginbotham Chapel at Walnut Ridge with Harold Russell officiating and burial to follow in Lebanon Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Services.
Visitation will be this evening from 5-8 in Higginbotham Chapel.
BLYTHEVILLE — Rebecca “Becky” Louise Smith, 57, of Blytheville died Wednesday, Sept. 24.
She leaves her mother, Ruth Hollingshad Rickard of West Plains, Mo.; her son, Dr. Matthew W. Smith and wife Meredith of Tempe, Ariz.; grandsons, Jackson and Wyatt; and a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in St. Stephens Episcopal Church at Blytheville. Visitation is from 4-6 tonight in the church.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in Howell Valley Cemetery
at West Plains. Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville is in charge of arrangements.
L.C. ‘Peanut’ Speed

OSCEOLA — L.C. “Peanut” Speed, 55, of Osceola died Friday at SMC Regional Hospital at Osceola.
Survivors include wife, Teresa Speed; daughters, Ebony (Rodney) Jones, Yolanda Speed and Sylvia Speed; sons, Stanley Chandler and L.C. Speed Jr.; mother, Sylvia Speed; sisters, Bertha (Albert) Veasley, Linda Speed and Lula Mae Speed; brothers, James (Violet) Speed and Leonard (Brenda) Speed; eight grandchildren; and caretaker, Barbara Anderson.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church at Osceola with Dr. Moses Black officiating. Burial will follow in Whiteside Cemetery
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday in the church.
FORREST CITY — Mrs. Willene Stringfellow died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Forrest City Medical Center.
Survivors are her husband, Jim Stringfellow; brother, Edward Shands of Lodi, Calif.; sister, Helen Smith of Winnetka, Calif.; two sons, Mike Rauls of Kimberling City, Mo., and Patrick Rauls of Harvey, Iowa; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be in Oak Hill Church of God at Forrest City on Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Witcher officiating. Burial will be in Crosslawn Cemetery

Goldie Irene Wilkerson
PARAGOULD — Goldie Irene Wilkerson, 88, of Paragould died Thursday, Sept. 25, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.
Mrs. Wilkerson was retired from Greene Acres Nursing Home and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Bob Myer of Paragould and Bernice and Jarrel Vest of Blytheville; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday in Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel at Paragould with Curtis Hitt officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from noon until service time.
Vadalia Louise Berry
JONESBORO — Vadalia Louise Berry, 79, of Jonesboro died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Vina Nelson.
Survivors include her husband, John Berry of Jonesboro; two sons, John H. Berry of Montgomery, Ala., and Tim Berry of Paragould; two daughters, Mary Catherine Martinez of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Charlotte Perry of Jonesboro; a brother, Max Nelson of Marmaduke; two sisters, Kay Huckabay of Rector and Elizabeth Green of Naples, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel at Rector.
Visitation will be this evening from 4:30-8 at the funeral home.
CYPRESS, Texas — Neal Bradford, 69, passed away Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008.
Neal was born Sept. 3, 1939, at Parkin to Jess and Birdie Bradford.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, George Bradford.
He is survived by his wife, Annetia; daughters, Belinda Zinniker of Houston, Texas, Beth Peddie and husband, Rob, of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Shannon Parow and husband, Jon, of Spring, Texas; son, Christian Martin and wife, Heather; sisters, Opal McDermatt of Mountain Home, Ora Fraizer of West Memphis and Shirley Crawford of Jonesboro; brother, Dee Bradford of Eads, Tenn.; and 11 grandchildren.
Neal received a heart transplant on Jan. 6, 1999, and was given a second chance at life.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. today in Klein Funeral Home.

Forrest Wayne Butler
WYNNE — Forrest Wayne Butler, 68, formerly of Crawfordsville, died Tuesday in Wynne.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eric Wayne Butler; parents, Leo F. and Maggie Lou Mask Butler; and sister, Kathy Poole.
Mr. Butler was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam.
Survivors are his brother, J.W. Butler of Wynne; sister, Mary Cupples of West Memphis; aunt, Millie Blaylock of Williford; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday morning at 10 in Kernodle Funeral Home at Wynne with burial in Crittenden Memorial Park at Marion.
Visitation will be this evening from 6-8.
