Hazel Ruth Siler, 72, passed away August 9, 2002 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She was born February 11, 1930 in Los Angeles, California to Jack Gardner and Zana "Heath".

Hazel moved to Lake Havasu 3 years ago from Palm Springs, California. She has been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Siler is survived by her husband of 47 years Gilbert Siler of Lake Havasu; sons Gene Siler of Laguna Miguel, California, Gil Siler and Glenn Siler both of Las Vegas, Nevada; brothers Gene Gardner of Torrance, California and Jack Gardner of Bouse, Arizona; sister Betty Fenton of Lake Havasu and 2 grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Lake Havasu Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Rounds officiating.

The family asks that donations be made in her name to Hospice of Havasu.

Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

John Paul Stilwell, age 61, passed away suddenly in Las Vegas, Nevada August 11, 2002. He was born September 18, 1940 in Sanford, Michigan to Homer and Edith Stilwell.

John worked as a truck driver for Spartan Stores in Michigan for 25 years. He and his wife had their retirement home built in Lake Havasu City in 1990. They enjoyed fishing and auto restoration.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 25 years, Barbara; loving daughter Holly and her husband Ron Mathews of Show Low, Arizona; two sisters Helen Sian, Mary and her husband Cleve Pomranky all of Sanford, Michigan; three step-sons Don Callahan and Dan Callahan, both of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Dennis Callahan and his wife Josie of Tucson, Arizona; step-daughter Debra Hollywood and her husband David of Tucson Arizona; and three grandchildren, Desiree, Joelle and Robert.

He will be sadly missed by family, friends and neighbors.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2002, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 15, 2002, 10:00 AM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Interment will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Albert E. Wink, 86, passed away August 6, 2002 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born on April 4, 1916 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Albert Wink and Matilda "Harris"

Albert has lived in Lake Havasu City for 16 years, moving to Arizona 27 years ago from Philadelphia where he was an engineer 30 years for the US Government. He also worked as a maintenance engineer for the Scottsdale School District for 3 years.

He proudly served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Wink was a past member of the Elks Lodge and the Loyal Order of Moose in Phoenix, Arizona.

Albert enjoyed sports such as baseball, football and golf.

He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years Darlene Wink of Lake Havasu; daughters Betty Carpenter of Sun City, Arizona, Linda Donnelly of Las Vegas, Nevada and Vicki Didio of Henderson, Nevada; stepsons Robert Richards of Phoenix, Arizona and Terry Gabby of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 10, 2002 at 1:00 PM at the Lietz-Fraze Chapel with the Rev. Richard Rounds officiating. The VFW Post #9401 will be holding military honors.

The family request donations to be made in his name to Hospice of Havasu.

Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Rita C. Vernua, 75, passed away peacefully at her home on August 6, 2002. She was born on May 22, 1927 in Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of the late Katherine and John Krautheim.

Rita had been coming to Lake Havasu since 1980. She and her husband retired here in 1986 from Southern California. Rita loved her two boys, their wives and her five grandchildren, as much as they loved her. She would spend as much time with them as possible. Rita loved her many friends here in Lake Havasu and other parts of the country and she also was loved by them. She enjoyed crafts, making ceramics and taking trips to Laughlin and Las Vegas with her husband and their many friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Leroy, sons Richard and Daniel of Chico, CA., her sister Bernadine of Los Alamitos, CA. and 5 grandchildren, Jade, Jordon, Ryan, Rory and Nalani all of Chico, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Rita's name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O.Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Az. 86405.

Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Marc Stuart Smith died following a long battle with leukemia on July 30, 2002. He was born September 18, 1956 in New York City, New York.

Mark served in the US Army where he specialized in electronics. After the army, Marc returned to Greenwich, Connecticut and became a locally recognized expert in fine wines. His reputation as a wine connoisseur led to work as a wine consultant and sommelier for several well known establishments in the Greenwich area.

Marc is survived by his sister Michele Cathy Hade of Woodland Hills, Calif; nieces Shayne Dahl Lamas and Dakota Jordan Pike both of Woodland Hills, CA.; his nephew A.J. Lamas of Sherman Oaks, Calif. and his many friends in Lake Havasu.

A memorial service for Marc will be held at the Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Thursday, August 8, 2002 at 3:00 pm.

Donations may be made in Marc's name to the National Bone Marrow Donor Bank.

Verna June Heyn, 74, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, formerly of Bridgman, MI., passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at Havasu Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday, August 6,at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bridgman, MI., with Reverend James Schouweiler officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman, MI. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 PM Monday at Boyd Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Olive Lutheran Church or Cancer Association of Havasu.

Mrs. Heyn was born August 25, 1927 the daughter of the late William and Helen (Rust) Spaulding. She lived in Lake Havasu City since 1995. While living in Bridgman she was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a past Scout Leader.

On May 3, 1947 she married Gilbert Heyn and he preceeded her in on November 19.1992. Survivors include her children: Bruce and wife Jo Heyn of Lake Havasu City, AZ.and Eileen and husband Lynn Stiles of Fort Lauderdale,FL; 3 grandchildren: Clinton and Brendon Heyn, Stacey and husband David (Stile) Kane: three brothers: Roger Spaulding of Tyron, OK., Warren Spaulding of New Troy,MI., and Wayne Spaulding of Lubbock, TX.; three sisters: Rosanne and husband Ronald Karn of Eau Clare, MI., Diane and husband David Nickles of Mattawan, NJ., and Caroline and husband Robert Green of Richmond, OH. She was also prceeded in by a grandson: Chad Stiles; and a brother: Herbert Spaulding.

Mom will be remembered for her devotion to God and her great love for her family and friends. She shared her love with children less fortunate bringing them into her heart and her home. It was her creative ingenuity and love of music that brought joy to others. But her greatest hope was to be remembered for making others laugh. "We will miss you so". "Until we meet again may God bless you!" Your loving family.

Harold L. Kaiser, 91, passed away on July 30th, 2002 at Prestige Assisted Living @ Claremont in Lake Havasu City, Az. He was born on February 14th, 1911 in New York, New York.

Harold was a truck driver for 20 years and worked for Railway Express in New Jesery.

He is survived by his daughters Carol Metzger and Betty Bradley of Arizona, Arlene Feduff and Elaine Sawyer of California, Diane Leake of New Jersey and 14 grandchildren.
