Alma Schimkat, 91, passed away Sunday evening, March 16th, 2003 at her home in Kingman, AZ. Born March 14th, 1912, she grew up in Germany where she married Richard Schimkat.

In 1952 she moved to Benton Harbor, MI;, and in 1974 moved to Scottsdale, Az., where she attended Scottsdale First Assembly of God and became involved in Women's Aglow. After moving to Lake Havasu City, Az., in 1987 she attended Stonebridge Christian Fellowship Women's Aglow and Lakeview Community Church.

Alma loved to go for walks and tell people about Jesus. She became widowed after 63 years of marriage and recently moved to Kingman, AZ., to live with her son and daughter-in-law.

She is survived by her loving family Rick and Jodene Schimkat, Alfred and Floris Schetlitzki, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Lakeview Community Church on Friday, March 21st, 2003 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mark Runyon officiating.

Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Audrey Elaine Easter, 83, passed away April 2, 2003 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She was born to Oney & Dora (Beltz) Yeazel on August 2, 1919 in Lebanon, Ohio.

Audrey made Lake Havasu her home 9 years ago, moving here from Canoga, Park, California. She worked for ABC Diaper Service in North Hollywood, California for 13 years.

She is survived by her loving family, son, William J. Easter and his wife Linda of Lake Havasu; daughter, Linda L. Trumbo of Lake Havasu; grandchildren, Rocky, Robert, Jay, Michael, Mark, Matthew, Kimberly, Rhonda, Reya, Jason & Donna; great grandchildren, Trevor, Erik, Brittany, Kenneth, Kaitlyn and Daniel.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2003, 10:00 AM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel with Rev. Carol Sheffield officiating.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Nadia "Gail" D. Marx, 73, passed away on April 4th, 2003 at her residence in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born on March 18th, 1930 in Hope, Arkansas to Harry and Ida Pearl (Bishop) Byrd.

Gail lived in the state of Arizona for 41 years and moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 6 years ago from Dallas, TX;

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years Sol "Bud" F. Marx of Lake Havasu City, AZ; sons Thomas Edwin Marx of Georgetown, TX; Charles William Marx of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Robert Forrest Marx and James Fitzgerald Marx both of Phoenix, AZ; daughters Carol Lynn Barlow of Las Vegas, NV; Patricia Gail Crow-Shepherd of San Diego, CA; Cynthia Ruth Baird of Lake Havasu City, AZ; grandchildren Kimberly, Michael Allen, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Michelle, Michael Thomas, Melissa, Cody, Sarah, Brandon and Samantha; great grandchildren Nicole, Alexis and Sage.

A funeral services will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Saturday, April 5th, 2003 at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Carol Sheffield officiating. Burial will take place at Silverino Cemetery in Fouke, Arkansas.

Arrangements were made with Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

William J. “Bill” Somishka, 75, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on April 24, 2003 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Bill was born on March 12, 1928 in Whitehall, Pennsylvania, son of the late Jacob and Sophie Somishka. He has lived in Arizona since 1983. Bill served his country in the US Air Force from 1948 until 1954.

Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Irene; his daughter, Julia and her husband Bruce, son, Matthew and his wife Shelly, and son, Stephen; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is also survived by his brother, Mike and sisters, Cecilia and Margaret, all in Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his son, Philip Somishka.

Bill was an avid sports fan, but most importantly a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather (pop-pops) and great grandfather. He will be truly missed by all of his family, but we are strengthened in the knowledge that he is now at peace.

Scripture services will be held at 1:00 pm at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home on Monday, April 28. Gil Lopez will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of Havasu.

Mary Catherine Flury, 76, passed away April 30, 2003 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She was born to Joseph & Catherine (Spetz) Hope on April 17, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio.

Mary moved to Lake Havasu 5 years ago from Visalia, California where she owned and directed her own preschool.

She began nurses training at the age of 16, becoming a registered nurse at age 22. In 1979, Mary & Virgil opened Flury's Nurtury in Visalia and in 1998, retired and moved to Lake Havasu City.

Mary was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, the Catholic Women's Society, and the Cursillo Group of Our Lady of the Lake.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Virgil Flury; sons, John Flury and his wife Jane of Pacific Grove, California and Robert Flury and his wife Pat of San Jose, California; one daughter Susan Flury of Lake Havasu; grandchildren, Kathy Off and her husband Andy, Robin Flury, Andy Flury, Michelle Flury, Alex Flury and Tyler Flury. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Nicholas Flury and Edward Owen Off.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 3, 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church with Father Michael Deptula officiating.

The family has requested donations go to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86405.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Catrinus Wallet, 77, passed away March, 20, 2003 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born to Cornelius Jacob Veldhuisen and Trientje Wallet on December 3, 1925 in Alphen A/D Rijn, The Netherlands.

Mr. Wallet made Lake Havasu his home 15 years ago, moving here from Culver City, California. He was a baker for 50 years working for Fred's Bakery in Los Angeles, California.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbalina Wallet; one son, Catrinus Wallet of Portland, Oregon; daughter, Tina Kraag of Hawthorne, California, Thea Morinello of Torrance, California and Corrie Verhagen of Corona, California; two brothers Dirk Veldhuizen of Pointe Larue, Seychelles and Ep Wallet of Doorn, The Netherlands; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Monday, March 24, 2003 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with funeral services following at 2:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Rev. Richard Rounds will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.

Donations are requested to go to Hospice of Havasu in his name.

Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Jean Marie Hetzel, 74, passed away on April 16th, 2003 at Prestige Assisted Living @ Claremont in Lake Havasu City, Az; She was born May 24th, 1928 in New York City, NY.

Jean moved to Lake Havasu City, Az; 4 years ago from Long Island, New York. She loved going to Laughlin, NV.

She is survived by her son Thomas A. Hetzel and wife Doris of Tannersville, PA; daughter Noreen Kuerner and husband Herb of Lake Havasu City, Az; grandchildren Herbert and Joanne Kuerner, John Kuerner, Jeff and Kristine Furnell, great grandchildren Tony, Christopher and Adam Kuerner and Jeffrey, Taylor and Kassandra Furnell.

A memorial service will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home on Saturday, April 19th, 2003 at 11:00 AM.

Donations can be made in her name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Az. 86405
