Willis L. Calderwood
Willis L. Calderwood, 77, of
Apache Junction, Arizona, passed
away Monday, August 22, 2005, at
Deaconess Billings Hospital in Billings,
Montana.
He was born August 10, 1928, in
Devils Lake, N.D., the son of Eugene
and Marie (Kirk) Calderwood.
He was raised in Crary, N.D. and
attended school there, graduating
in 1947. He then went to North Dakota
State College of Science, graduating
in 1951.
He farmed near Crary until his retirement
in 1995. In 1980, he married
Patricia Nash in Devils Lake,
N.D. Willis and Pat moved to
Apache Junction in 1990.
Willis is a member of the Desert
Chapel United Methodist Church
and the Independent Order of Odd
Fellows.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia
Calderwood of Apache Junction;
stepchildren, Mary Ann (Victor)
Miller, Linda (Farley) Hicks, Karen
(James) Casady, Art (Mary Jane)
Crane, Janet (Dan) Ewen, Nancy
(Cliff) Edsall, Tom (Sandy) Crane;
surviving brother Don (Jeanette)
Calderwood; and sister Becky
(Nels) Stave; numerous grandchildren
and great-grandchildren,
nieces and nephews.
Those who preceded him in death
are his parents, Eugene and Marie
(Kirk) Calderwood; brothers
George and Russell Calderwood.
A memorial service was held Friday,
October 28, 2005, at 11:00 a.m.
at the Desert Chapel United Methodist
Church. Memorials may be

Robert Oakley
Robert Oakley, 87, of Apache
Junction passed away on Wednesday,
October 5, 2005. Mr. Oakley is
survived by his wife, Joyce. He
served 28 years in the military and
was well known for his design of
the T10 parachute, which is still in
use in many countries. Bob was
active in many Masonic organizations
in his retirement years. Bob
was a modest, wonderful man who
will sadly be missed, especially by
his ever loving wife. Arrangements
at a later date.
