Elwood Hunnicutt
Elwood F. Hunnicutt, 31, of Fort McDowell Indian Community died Aug. 28, 1997 in Scottsdale.
Born in Oakland, Calif., Mr. Hunnicutt was a bingo hall employee at the Fort McDowell Gaming Center.
Mr. Hunnicutt was a basket weaver and member of the Fort McDowell tribe.
Survivors include his companion, Raquel Baptisto; parents, Hale Hunnicutt of Alaska and Joseline Green of Fort McDowell; step-father, William Green Sr. of Fort McDowell; sons, Kegan Hunnicutt and Tanner Baptisto; brother, Joseph Hunnicutt; and sisters, Gail Hunnicutt and Rainbow Green.
Visitation was Sept. 2 at Joseline Green's home, with a service set for 7 a.m. Sept. 3 at the Fort McDowell Arbor.
Interment will be at the Fort McDowell cemetery.
Timothy Flaherty
Timothy Flaherty, 76, died Sept. 14, 1997 in Fountain Hills.
Born Jan. 11, 1921 in Chicago, Ill., Mr. Flaherty of Fountain Hills was a retired commander in the U.S. Navy.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Richardson; sons, Timothy F. Flaherty and Terrance M. Flaherty; and four grandchildren.
A service was held Sept. 19 at St. Patrick's Church in Scottsdale. Interment was at Paradise Memorial Gardens, Scottsdale.
Anna Hodoval
Anna B. Hodoval (Zeman) of Fountain Hills, formerly of Wood Dale, Ill., died Sept. 20, 1997 at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital-North.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Sr.; daughter, Marie (Ken) Stallsmith of Wood Dale; son, William Jr. of Fountain Hills; grandsons, Ken Stallsmith of Wood Dale and John (Cynthia) Stallsmith of Fountain Hills; great-grandson, Cody; niece, Barbara of Fountain Hills; three nephews; and many loving friends.
A private service was held at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary.
Omer Clarysse
Omer Clarysse, 67, of Fountain Hills died Sept. 9, 1997.
Born Dec. 6, 1929 in DeKlinge, Belgium, Mr. Clarysse was a retired stationery engineer with the Janitors Local Union No. 1 in Chicago.
He also worked several years with MCO Properties in Fountain Hills as an effluent disposal technician. He was a member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Justine Clarysse of Fountain Hills; mother, Maria Clarysse of Montello, Wis.; son, Omer Clarysse of Scottsdale; daughters, LuAnne McNamara of Glendale Heights, Ill. and Maria Clarysse of Mesa; sister, Eugene Saegebrecht of Montello; and six grandchildren.
Visitation was Sept. 11 with a service at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary Sept. 12.

Emanuel Luccarelli
Emanuel Luccarelli, 73, died April 12, 1999 in Phoenix.
Born Nov. 5, 1925 in Union City, N.J., Mr. Luccarelli worked as an automobile mechanic during his adult career.
He was veteran of the U.S. Army and belonged to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Phoenix.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Luccarelli of Phoenix; daughter, Maryanne Piazza of Fountain Hills; sisters, Rose Noto of Midlawn Park, N.J. and Phylis Stella of Las Vegas, Nev.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be today, April 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. with rosary at 7 p.m. at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, 12065 N. Saguaro Blvd.
A service will be held Thursday, April 15, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11001 N. 40th Street, Phoenix. Interment will be at National Memorial cemetery in Phoenix.
Joseph Smith
Joseph Smith, 69, of Fountain Hills died April 11, 1999 at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea hospital.
Mr. Smith was born May 16, 1929 at Valparaiso, Indiana. He was a salesman for McGill Roller Bearing Manufacturing.
Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post #988 and Porter Lodge 137 F&AM in Valparaiso, Ind.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Bette Smith of Fountain Hills; one son, Paul Joseph Smith of Valparaiso, Ind.; two brothers, Vernon H. Smith (Gladys) of California, and Harry W. Smith (June) of Colorado; Norma, mother of two grandchildren, and grandchildren Kyle and Maren Ladd of Valparaiso, Ind.
A memorial service for Mr. Smith will be held Friday, April 16, at 2 p.m. at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, 12065 Saguaro Boulevard.

Leonid Kinskey
The last living member of the cast of "Casablanca," character-comedian Leonid Kinskey of Fountain Hills, died Sept. 9, 1998.
The retired Hollywood actor died of myelo dysplasia, a rare blood disease. He was 95.
Appearing in more than 100 motion pictures during the Golden Age of Hollywood, Mr. Kinskey's superb talent enriched the lives of many.
The actor resided most of his life in North Hollywood, Calif., but he spent the last five years, due to failing health, in Fountain Hills.
He is survived by his wife Tina York, a well-known artist.
The Russian character actor was born in St. Petersburg in 1903. He performed as a mime with all three imperial theatres before leaving his homeland in 1921.
Mr. Kinskey came to the United States via South America as a principal in the highly-acclaimed Firebird Theatre.
Al Jolson eventually hired him for the road tour of "Wonder Bar," which brought Mr. Kinskey to Hollywood. Ernst Lubitsch caught him in the show and signed him for "Trouble in Paradise" (1932). The film is considered a classic comedy of the period.
Although he was never under contract to any studio, his Pinocchio nose and half-moon grin became famous in the hundreds of appearances they made in numerous pictures, some of which included "Duck Soup" (1933) and "I Married an Angel" (1942).
His most incongruous scene came in "Rhythm on the Range" (1936), when Mr. Kinskey harmonized with Bing Crosby, Martha Raye and Bob Burns in introducing the song "I'm an Old Cowhand."
Possibly he will go down in screen history as the man who kissed Humphrey Bogart — on the cheek — as Sasha the bartender in "Casablanca," after "Rick" uncharacteristically arranged a passport for a desperate young couple.
Kinskey's claim, that "The Spot Lite Club," a program he did over KTLA in Los Angeles in 1948, was the first situation comedy ever on TV, has never been disputed. He was a regular on Jackie Cooper's TV series of the 1950s, "The People's Choice."
After the mid-1950s he called a halt to Hollywood moviemaking, turning to a career as the director-writer of industrial films for many major corporations.
"To dramatize a machine or a product," he once said, "requires a great deal more ingenuity than a well-written scene played by able actors."
He is survived by his wife, Tina York of Fountain Hills, a nationally-known artist.
Helen Williamson
Helen Barbara Williamson, 80, of Fountain Hills died Monday, Sept. 14, at her home.
Mrs. Williamson was born July 24, 1918 in Stamford, Conn. She was a homemaker who moved to Arizona from North Merrick, N.Y.
Mrs. Williamson was a member the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. #5199, Merrick, N.Y.
Mrs. Williamson is survived by one son, Donald Williamson (Linda), League City, Texas; one daughter, Dale Stanford (John), of Fountain Hills; one brother, Michael Kulbeida (Jeanne) of Stamford, Conn.; two sisters, Katherine Herman of Norwalk, Conn. and Bertha Eldred (Arthur) of Fountain Hills. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Williamson, and one son, Joel Williamson who died in Vietnam.
A memorial scripture service for Mrs. Williamson will be held today, Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 3:30 p.m. at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, 12065 Saguaro Boulevard.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorial contributions to the American Red Cross, Fountain Hills District, Arizona Chapter, 6135 Black Canyon Highway, Phoenix, Az., 85015.
'Bud' Schreiber
Everett J. "Bud" Schreiber, born Jan. 10, 1925, in Rockford, Ill., died July 29, 1998 at home in Fountain Hills.
He is survived by his wife, Jan; six children; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Formerly a vice president of sales and marketing with Fleetwood Enterprises, Mr. Schreiber was an entrepreneur who owned several manufacturing companies and was involved in real estate development.
Mr. Schreiber was active with Alcoholics Anonymous, which made a valuable contribution to his life.
He was a Life Member of the Masonic Lodge of Illinois and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Mitzpah Shrine Temple in Fort Wayne, Ind. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
A service was held Aug. 2 at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary.
Trilby Patten
Trilby V. Patten, 80, died July 16, 1998 following a brief illness while vacationing with her family in Pinetop.
Born Nov. 1, 1917 in Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Patten spent most of her life in the community of Keego Harbor, Mich., where she was an elementary school secretary with West Bloomfield Public Schools for 26 years.
Following her retirement in 1983, she enjoyed extensive travel with friends and family. She began wintering in Fountain Hills in 1995.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Albert Conception of Fountain Hills; her son and daughter-in-law, Milton and Karen Patten of Lake Havasu City; her grandson, Brian Patten of Tulsa, Okla.; and her half-brother, Frank Green of Hubbard Lake, Mich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton, in 1970.
A memorial service is planned for Aug. 29 in Keego Harbor, Mich., with interment in Farmington, Mich.

`Gabby' Williams
Steven "Gabby" Hood Williams, 20, of the Fort McDowell Indian Community died Aug. 1, 1998 at Phoenix Baptist Hospital.
Born April 28, 1978 in Chicago, Ill., Mr. Williams worked as a chip runner at the Fort McDowell Casino for one and a half years.
He attended schools in the Fountain Hills district, including elementary and high school, and he played football at Taylor Junior High School in Mesa. Mr. Williams also was an avid basketball player for Fort McDowell.
Survivors include his mother and father, Turhan B. and Janet L. Williams; brothers, Angel and Daniel Hood and David and Gabriel Williams; sisters, Rhonda Hood and Tarras Williams; paternal grandmother, Minnie Williams; maternal grandmother, Norma Senich; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, 12065 N. Saguaro Blvd., Fountain Hills.
A service will be held Friday, Aug. 7, at 8 a.m. at the Fort McDowell Arbor. Interment will be at the Fort McDowell cemetery.
Marilyn Shettko
Marilyn Shettko, 70, of Fountain Hills died June 19, 1998 at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea.
Born May 21, 1928 in Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Shettko was a meeting planner for the tourism and travel industry.
She also was a former owner of Cask & Keg, a fine wine store and deli shop in Fountain Hills, from 1988 to 1994; she also was a board member for the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce; member of Kappa Altpha Theta at University of Southeran California; and member of La Buena Vida Women's Club.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Shettko of Fountain Hills; son, Steve Shettko of Missoula, Mont.; daughters, Donna Lynn of Madison, Wis. and Nancy Stanton of Scottsdale; and one grand-daughter, Sydney.
A memorial service was held June 20 at St. Anthony on the Desert Episcopal Church in Scottsdale.

H. Clifford Auble
H. Clifford Auble, 86, of Fountain Hills died June 20, 1998 at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea.
Born Oct. 17, 1911 in Irving, Ill., Mr. Auble graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1932 and worked as a banker during his career.
A member of the U.S. Army, Mr. Auble was discharged in 1946 as Captain MAC after two and a half years overseas in World War II.
He was very active in community service once retiring and moving to Fountain Hills.
Mr. Auble was a former director on the Sanitary District Board; member of The Club; former president of the Noon Kiwanis Club; first commander of the newly-formed Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Fountain Hills; and he directed efforts to raise funds and help establish the Red Cross special transportation services van here.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary of Fountain Hills; one nephew, Greg Eckert; and three nieces, Kathy Benoist, Shirley Germain and Jane Kriegsies.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, 13001 N. Fountain Hills Blvd.
Interment will be at the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church Columbarium.
