Mary E. Myrick, 93, slipped peacefully out of this world on August 20th, 2002 in Lake Havasu City, Az. She was born on August 18th, 1909 in San Antonio, Texas.

Mary moved to Lake Havasu City, Az. 12 years ago from Acton, CA.

She worked as a Nurse for Astoria Hospital in San Fernando, CA. for 33 years. After working at Astoria Hospital she did private duty nursing.

Mary is survived by her son William Cardwell and his wife Cecilia of El Cajon, CA; grandchildren Francine Berry and Sherralie Majeski of Oregon; Linda Cardwell of Montana; Frank Berry III of CA; Denise McGarry and husband Robert of Oregon; William Cardwell and wife Joyce of Idaho and Cindy Fields of Oregon. She has 15 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, a nephew, nieces and great friends. Everyone that knew her will miss her.

Visitation will be Friday, August 23rd, 2002 at Lietz-Fraze Chapel from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Saturday, August 24th, 2002 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Richard Rounds officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens, Lake Havasu City, AZ.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Havasu.

Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Dorothy Agnes Thibodeau, 71, passed away at her residence in Lake Havasu City, Az. on August l3, 2002. She was born on April 16, 1931 in Detroit, MI.

She is survived by her sons Michael, Gregory, Patrick, Jeffrey, daughters; Jennifer, Carla, Juliana, Rebecca; brother James McHarg, sister; Jo Beauchamp and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be in Michigan and burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, MI.

Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

William Louis De Mase 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Lake Havasu City, Az. He was born on February 3rd, 1927 in Ellwood City, PA.

William owned a liquor store in Whittier, CA. for 29 years. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy, WWII and our V.F.W. Post #9401 will be performing Military Honors at his service.

He is survived by his brother Rocco De Mase of Lake Havas City, Az. an Uncle and Aunt in Ohio, Uncle in Lake Havasu City, Az. and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 20,2002 at the Lietz-Fraze Chapel with Deacon Tom DeFilippis officiating.

Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Dr. Michael Bassil, 66, passed away at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on August 14, 2002. He was born on July 27, 1936 in Poughkeepsie, New York, son of the late Michael and Minnie Bassil.

Dr. Bassil had been a resident of Lake Havasu for 6 years.

He is survived by his sister, Maylin Romanelli of Fishkill, New York; a nepew, Dr. Vincent Romanelli of Chicago, Illinois; nieces Sandy Ticehurst of Lavalette, New Jersey, Robin Ballo of Unadilla, New York, Lisa Romanelli of Bronksville, New York and Gail Archer of Brookfield, Connecticut.

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 19, 2002, 4:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Rita C. Vernua, 75, passed away peacefully at her home on August 6, 2002. She was born on May 22, 1927 in Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of the late Katherine and John Krautheim.

Rita had been coming to Lake Havasu since 1980. She and her husband retired here in 1986 from Southern California. Rita loved her two boys, their wives and her five grandchildren, as much as they loved her. She would spend as much time with them as possible. Rita loved her many friends here in Lake Havasu and other parts of the country and she also was loved by them. She enjoyed crafts, making ceramics and taking trips to Laughlin and Las Vegas with her husband and their many friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Leroy, sons Richard and Daniel of Chico, CA., her sister Bernadine of Los Alamitos, CA. and 5 grandchildren, Jade, Jordon, Ryan, Rory and Nalani all of Chico, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Rita's name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O.Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Az. 86405.

Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

John Paul Stilwell, age 61, passed away suddenly in Las Vegas, Nevada August 11, 2002. He was born September 18, 1940 in Sanford, Michigan to Homer and Edith Stilwell.

John worked as a truck driver for Spartan Stores in Michigan for 25 years. He and his wife had their retirement home built in Lake Havasu City in 1990. They enjoyed fishing and auto restoration.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 25 years, Barbara; loving daughter Holly and her husband Ron Mathews of Show Low, Arizona; two sisters Helen Sian, Mary and her husband Cleve Pomranky all of Sanford, Michigan; three step-sons Don Callahan and Dan Callahan, both of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Dennis Callahan and his wife Josie of Tucson, Arizona; step-daughter Debra Hollywood and her husband David of Tucson Arizona; and three grandchildren, Desiree, Joelle and Robert.

He will be sadly missed by family, friends and neighbors.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2002, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 15, 2002, 10:00 AM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Interment will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Donald Harrington, 89, died March 20, 2010 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born in Flint, Michigan in 1920 to Russell and Hazel Harrington.

Don retired from Buick Motor Division in 1974 after 30 years of service and moved to Arizona. He served 6 years in WWII and 2 years in the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Air Force. Don was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Phoenix, Arizona and lifetime member of the Masonic Fellowship Lodge #490 in Flint, Michigan. He was a past member of the Genesee County Radio Club and a lifetime member of the London Bridge ARA.

Don is survived by his wife Gloria of 64 years and two sons, Craig Harrington of Davison, Michigan, Blair Harrington of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and two grandchildren, Sandra Harrington of Flint, Michigan and Matthew Harrington of Burton, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother.

There will be no services. Cremation has already taken place.
