James Clay Hughes passed away March 11, 2010 in Lake Havasu City, AZ at the age of 65. He was born on July 31, 1944 in Mangum, OK.

James proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married his beloved bride Helen Meyer on December 18, 1973 and together they made Lake Havasu their home 15 years ago from Oregon City, OR. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, cars and learning. Most important to him were his family and his dogs. James loved to talk about his childhood, growing up in Oklahoma. As a teenager he loved listening to Elvis Presley and Neil Diamond.

James leaves behind his loving wife Helen Hughes; sons, Jimmy Hughes and Frankie Jones; daughter Kelly Burnette; brothers Lester Hughes, Eddie Hughes and Howard Hughes; two sisters Cathy Fleming and Susan Cochems; six grandchildren Ashli, Garret, Trevor, Chaly, James “Buddy”, Katie and one great granddaughter Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hiram and Jesse (Smith) Hughes and his two grandmothers Maddie Smith and Lucy Hughes

Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory,

Marguerite “Marge” G. Smith (December 05, 1921 to July 08, 2004), 82, passed away Thursday, July 8 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born 1921 in New York, NY, married husband Frank in 1945, where they had two children and moved to Clearwater, Florida. She and her husband were active members of Saint Cecelia’s Catholic Church for forty years.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Frank and her daughter, Rosemary.

Her son Frank, daughter-in-law Vickie, and grandson John Farrell survive her. Her brothers Robert, Eddie and James as well as her nieces, Pattie, Betty, Georgia, Eileen and nephew John, also mourn her.

Burial and services will be held at Sylvan Abbey Cemetery in her hometown of Clearwater, Florida in the fall.

We will miss how she saw everything and everyone as a precious gift on this earth. We will carry her always in our hearts. We love you Mom.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.

Newton S. Ludlum, born December 25, 1920 in Pomona, CA, passed away on June 26, 2004 in Los Angeles, CA.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary; sister, Charlene Powell of Lawrenceburg, TN; sister-in-laws, Betty Baer and Dorothy Merrill; stepchildren, Linda and Her husband, Joshua, Susan and her husband Kenji; grandchildren, Devin, Isabelle, Phillip and Camille.

Ludlum joined the Army prior to WWII and signed up for service in the Philippines. He was taken prisoner on the Island of Corregidor for over 3 ½ years. He worked in the aerospace industry for over 30 years and retired in 1990 and moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Memorial services were held June 30, 2004 for the family at First Methodist Church in Santa Monica, CA. Graveside services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.

Tye Robinson 77, passed away on July 1, 2004. He was born on December 26, 1926 in Brown Burg, Indianapolis, Indiana to Earl and Mildred Robinson.

Tye worked as a Marketing Director for Tom Dunlap in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in business. He was a proud veteran of World War II in the U. S. Army and served in Panama.

Tye is survived by his son Ron, daughters Sandy and Ricki, brother Bob, several grandchildren and his close friends Angel, Ashley, Jordan, Savanah, Michelle and Devenie. His parents Earl and Mildred Robinson preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be held on Friday July 9, 2004 at 5:30 PM at the Lietz-Fraze Chapel with Rev. Richard Rounds officiating. There will be full Military honors presented by VFW Post #9401 and American Legion #81.

Donations may be made to Tye's friends to assist with funeral expenses.

Harriet M. Shannon, 80, passed away October 17, 2003 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She was born on July 16, 1923 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Harriet moved to Lake Havasu 13 years ago from Mercedes, Texas. She worked for Government Civil Service as an Editorial Assistant in Redstone Arsenal in Alabama and Ft. Rucker, Alabama.

Mrs. Shannon was also a proud veteran in the US Army during WWII, a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church, member of Eastern Star and First Commander of the American Legion Post 454 in Missouri.

Harriet married her best friend, Warren on June 23, 1945 at St. Peters Evangelical & Reformed Church in St. Louis County, Missouri.

She is survived by her husband, Warren; son, Warren R. Shannon of Lake Havasu; daughters, Patricia M. Shannon of Atlanta, Georgia and Kathleen M. Seguin and her husband John of San Diego, California; grandson, Erik M. Seguin of Florida; granddaughter, Nicole M. Seguin of Los Angeles, California; two great grandchildren and numerous cousins.

She is preceded in by her parents, Harry C. and Hildegarde (Hilse) Robertson.

The family will be holding private memorial services in her honor.

Harriet will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

Deborah A. Mersey, 52, passed away on December 24th, 2003 at Prestige Assisted Living @ Claremont in Lake Havasu City, Az. She was born on December 13th, 1951 in New York.

Deborah moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 17 years ago from Brooklyn, New York.

She is survived by her son Paul Petersen of Lake Havasu City, AZ; father Joseph Mersey of Lake Havasu City, AZ; and sister Patricia Sanohoff of Chino Valley, AZ.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Kenneth Earl Bonnett, 82, passed away December 20, 2003 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to William & Ruth (Moody) Bonnett on March 26, 1921 in Greenville, NM.

Mr. Earl has been a resident of Quartzsite for the past 10 years, moving from San Diego, CA where he worked for Shapell Builders for 3 years.

Kenneth was a proud veteran in the US Navy during WWII and was a Deacon for the First Baptist Church in Quartzsite.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Nelda; sons, Dennis Bonnett of Henderson, NV, Steve Bonnett of Colorado Springs, CO and Dale Bonnett of Thornton, CO; step-son, Gary Carmichael of Thornton, CO; step-daughters, Susan Tate of Temecula, CA and Gail Ramaglia of Santee, CA; sister, Dorothy Berry of Oklahoma City, OK; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

The family request donations to go to the Arizona Heart Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.
