Kendall E. Janke

Kendall E. Janke, 61, of Kingman died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, in his sleep at his home. He was born Oct. 6, 1948, in Oshkosh, Wis. He came to Kingman 15 years ago from Oshkosh.
Kendall was a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of X-ray and had a long career in many areas of the radiology field.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Janke of Kingman; mother, Annabelle Janke of Oshkosh; sister, Margo Garrand of Stephen City, Va.; brother-in-law, Mike Garrand of Stephen City; niece, Sarah Burke of Winchester, Va.; and nephew, Ben Garrand of Stephen City. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Marcheta Miller of Kingman; two brothers-in-law and their spouses, John and Jeanie Miller of Clovis, Calif., and Paul and Dili Miller of Kingman.
For everyone, family and friends, who had the privilege to have had Ken in their lives, he will be greatly missed beyond words. He was a true gift and will live on in our hearts and prayers.
Ken will be laid to rest with his family members who predeceased him, including his beloved father, Elmer Janke, in his hometown of Oshkosh. A memorial service will be held in Oshkosh as well as in Kingman and will be announced at a later date, for the Kingman memorial.
Sutton Memorial Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Thomas Edwin Myers

Thomas Edwin Myers, 68, was born April 19, 1942, and passed away Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010.
He served in three branches of the armed forces. He was a Vietnam veteran. He was a great man who loved and cared for his family.
He was the loving father of Herbert Myers and Ruby Burnell; grandfather of Leanna Burnell, Brandy Burnell, Brittney Burnell, Thomas Myers, Ronald Myers and Adrianna Myers; and great-grandfather of Tori Anne Conner.
He loved to hunt and fish. We love and miss you; rest in peace. You are not forgotten.

Richard Arnold Taylor

Richard Arnold Taylor, age 75, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, in Las Vegas at Life Care Center, while under the care of Compassion Care Hospice of Las Vegas. He was born in Las Vegas in 1934.
At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by his wife, Roma; daughter, Beth; friend, Loretta; and the Rev. Judy Andrews of Hospice.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a carpenter and private contractor, and built many beautiful homes. He was a perfectionist in his endeavors.
Richard lived in Golden Valley for the last 14 years.
He loved the desert and the wonderful friends he made in Kingman and Golden Valley.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed helping others as long as he was able.
He is survived by his wife, Roma Lee Jardine Taylor of Las Vegas; daughter, Beth Bevan of Mineral Wells, Texas; son, Randy Davis of St. Peters, Mo.; two stepchildren, Bryan Downes and wife Mary of Newman Lake, Wash., and Gina Chatham and husband David of Post Falls, Idaho.
He had nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by three sisters, Nancy Schonleber of Huntington Beach, Calif., Norma Askew of Camarillo, Calif., and Marilyn Jones of Lee Summit, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elva; father, Ralph; son, Michael; and brother, Doug.
His memorial service is to be held at a later date.

Kay Leone Marcum

Kay L. Marcum, age 76, an 11-year resident of Golden Valley and Mohave Valley, went to be with the Lord on Monday afternoon, Sept. 20, 2010, in Kingman. Kay was born Dec. 27, 1933, in Santa Monica, Calif., to Clifford E. and Esther R. (Swenson) Ganow.
She grew up in Inglewood, Calif., and graduated from Inglewood High School. She moved to Sacramento, Calif., in 1980 where she met and married her husband, David Leon Marcum. She was a people person and would talk to everyone. Kay loved to garden, and raised the biggest squash you can image. She truly loved the Lord and studied her Bible every day.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Esther Ganow; and her sister, Jo Ann Ganow. Kay is survived by her husband of 28 years, David; son, Marvin Harkins; daughter, Deborah (Bill) Loew; grandchildren, Heather Loew and Michael (Jackie) Loew; stepdaughter, Lorrie Marcum; stepsons, David Jr. (Caree) Marcum and Darrell (Debbie) Marcum; and step-grandchildren, David Marcum III, Darrell Marcum, Ariel Marcum and Charles Marcum. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Schmidt, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be missed so much for her humor and feistiness.
Visitation will be at noon and the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Golden Valley Assembly of God Church, 3355 N. Magma Road, Golden Valley. A graveside service will be at Mountain View Cemetery, 1301 Stockton Hill Road in Kingman, directly after the funeral. Pastor David McLane will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, Kingman.

David Cantrall

Memories of David's life.
David Cantrall was called to the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, in Las Vegas. David was born Jan. 28, 2009, to Ernest and Sarah (Heinze) Cantrall of Kingman.
During his short time here on earth he touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends. David is survived by his parents, Ernest and Sarah Cantrall; his sister, Misheal Grace McBee; his unborn baby brother; his grandparents, Ed and Laura Moose of Kingman, and Fred and Barbara Cantrall of Cottonwood; his great-grandparents, John and Sandra Heinze of Kingman; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. David met his great-grandparents, Abe and Dorathy Cantrall, in heaven.
David enjoyed playing with his Jenga blocks, pushing his cars around and bouncing his ball. David loved playing peek-a-boo and numerous other games. His favorite nursery rhymes were Twinkle-Twinkle Little Star and Itsy-Bitsy Spider. David's favorite foods were grapes and strawberries, McDonald's hamburgers and fries, and most of all, ice cream.
Ernest and Sarah Cantrall would like to thank the caring staff at Kingman Regional Medical Center for all of their love and devotion. They would like to thank the community for their support. A big thank you to Praise Chapel for all of their support.
David's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 25, at Praise Chapel, 419 Harrison St., Kingman, with Pastor John Pool officiating.
Funeral arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory in Kingman.

Joshua Ray Jerdon

Joshua Ray Jerdon, born April 12, 1977, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010. Joshua is survived by two children, Angel and Tyler; his fiancée, Erica Wilder; brothers, Nick and Dusty; sister, Jessica; mother, Corine Ross; father, Bret Ross; grandparents, Ralph and Carol Gault, and Lou and Lisa Jelinek, Joyce Jelinek, Merl and Shirley Ross.
A celebration service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 4715 Stockton Hill Road, Kingman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kingman Regional Medical Center, Intensive Care Unit, 3269 Stockton Hill Road, Kingman, AZ 86409-3619.

Lynn Napier

Lynn Napier was born on Christmas Day 1954 in Spokane, Wash. She passed on Monday, Oct. 25, 2010.
Lynn was an English professor at Mohave Community College who loved all her students and was committed to helping each one succeed. She was also a talented writer who worked as a journalist before embarking on her career as a teacher.
Lynn was a beloved sister, daughter and friend, as well as a wonderful mother who showered unconditional love upon her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Laura and Rachel Fugate.
A small gathering and memorial will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, at The Healing Gardens at KRMC in Kingman.
Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home in Kingman.

Judith Rogers

Judith Rogers was born to Clarence and Erna M. of Milwaukee on Sept. 3, 1934, and passed away on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at the age of 76.
Judith is survived by her sons, Martin Rogers of Kingman and Scott Rogers of Los Angeles; daughter, Laurie Rogers of Kansas City, Mo.; daughters-in-law, Gerri of Kingman, Char of Kansas City and Alexa of Los Angeles; brothers, Peter, Charles and Robert, all of Wisconsin, six step-great-grandchildren; and niece, Holly Bradley of Maryland.
Judith Rogers was a mother and had a difficult life. May she rest in peace with her Lord and the angels.
Arrangements have been placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home in Kingman. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association.

Ronald Gordon Bitney

Ronald Gordon Bitney, 60, of Kingman died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Kingman Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 10, 1950, at Fairfield-Suison Air Force Base in California. He came to the Kingman area in 1994 from Annandale, N.J.
Ron earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of North Dakota and was the plant manager for Honeywell Specialty Materials in Kingman. He was a member of HOG (Harley Owners' Group) and a board member of the Kingman Airport Authority.
Ron is survived by his wife, Kathy of Kingman; stepson, Josh serving in the U.S. Navy in San Diego; his brother, David of Australia; his sister, Sandy of Texas; two daughters, Michelle of Virginia and Sheila of Florida; his son, Eric of Virginia; and his father, Waldron "Bit" of Minnesota. He also had six grandchildren.
Private family services were held. Sutton Memorial Funeral Home handled cremation arrangements.

Viola Jean Simanson

Viola Jean Simanson, 69, of Golden Valley died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, in Kingman. She was born Jan. 6, 1941, in Riverside, Calif.
Sutton Memorial Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mary Florence Berry

Mary Florence Berry, 94, of Golden Valley passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at Kingman Regional Medical Center. She was born June 24, 1916, on a homestead in rural Central Oregon. She moved to the Kingman/Golden Valley/Wickenburg areas of Arizona 30 years ago from Prineville, Ore.
Among the many occupations she pursued, Mary was one of the "Rosie the Riveters" helping build ships in Portland, Ore. She was also a seamstress, a ranch hand, a ranch cook, and loved to play softball, garden and can produce. She shared it with everyone.
She was active with the 4-H, Paralyzed Veterans, Wickenburg Horseman's Association, Wise Owl Senior Center, American Cancer Society, and at one time she and her late husband manned separate watchtowers for the Oregon Forest Service, keeping in contact with each other by radio.
Mary is survived by two grandchildren, Jeri Houle of Oregon and Greg Miller of Washington State; and four great-grandchildren, Robbie, Kerrie, Natalie and Jackie. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Thalhofer of Oregon.
There will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society - (800) 227-2345.
