Donald B. Franciscotty
Don "Cherokee" was born Jan. 29, 1942, in Prescott. He passed away Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, in Kingman after a brief illness.
He is survived by his partner/wife, Kathleen Franciscotty; brothers, Ron (Debbie) Franciscotty of Phoenix and Gib (Debbie) Franciscotty of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister, Judy Franciscotty of Walsenburg, Colo.; a daughter, Brandi Hamilton; two granddaughters, Gracie and Addie Hamilton of Hidden Valley, Calif.; his aunt, Billie (Larry) Van Horn of Ventura, Calif.; his aunt, Shirley (Don) Tipkee of Spokane, Wash.; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Zola Mae Franciscotty; and his younger brother, Stan Franciscotty.
Don retired from Nevada Power Company in 2001 and moved back to Golden Valley. He was one of the originators in 1983 of the infamous gunfighters group, the Pistoleros and Roses.
Don was a very caring and compassionate man toward his fellow man. He loved life, practical jokes, boating, fishing, water skiing, travel and karaoke. He was very good at all of them. He will be very much missed by all who knew him.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.

Earl V. Carter
Earl V. Carter of Kingman passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, in Kingman. He was born Sept. 15, 1939, in Alamosa, Colo., and came to Kingman 58 years ago.
Earl was a government trapper with the Arizona Wildlife Services. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Arizona Trappers Association.
Earl is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Baker of Huntington Beach, Calif., Cathy Brown of Phoenix and Rose Zemba of Youngwood, Pa.; sons, Earl "Butch" Carter of Kingman, Cary Carter of Atlanta and Benjamin Henry of Tucson. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
We lost a really wonderful man who was a very talented hunter, trapper, fisherman and taxidermist. He always had a listening ear, a wise and supportive voice, and was loved by all who knew him. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and most of all, beloved friend.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave. The service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, at Sutton's, followed by a reception at St. Johns Methodist Church, 1730 Kino Ave.
John D. Eldean
John D. Eldean, 72, of Golden Valley died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, in Golden Valley. He was born Oct. 10, 1938, in New York.
Sutton Memorial Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Arlen C. Faylor
Arlen C. Faylor, 57, passed away at home on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010. He was born to Wilbur Glen and Ola Irene Faylor on Sept. 16, 1952, in Midland, Mich.
For the past 16 years he worked for Colorado River Ford.
Arlen was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur; and brothers, Charles and Roger. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 34 years, Wanda; his children, Christopher (Elaine), Brian (Leberta) and Sheila; his granddaughter, Angelica; stepdaughters, Tami (Aaron) Nelson and Kristyne (Glenn) Stahlman; and three step-grandchildren, Katie, Hayden and Addyson. Also surviving are is mother, Ola; brothers, Russell (Rose) and Gaylord; and his sister, Thelma, Betty and Linda, all of Midland, Mich.
No services are planned.

Alice Sarah Roberts
Alice Sarah Roberts, born Aug. 19, 1912, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010.
She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Brown of Yuma and Peggy Gordon of Kingman; and grandchildren, Cindy Gross of Kingman, Barbara Larsen of Las Vegas, Blake Benson of Phoenix, Kenneth and Chris Brown of Yuma, Tyleen Norton of Yuma, Tracy Roberts of Rome, Italy, Tane Roberts of Denver and Shawna Ford of San Diego. She also had 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was loved very much by all of her family.
Services will be held in Yuma, where she spent many years of her very active and productive life.
Sybil C. Mucklow
Sybil went to be with our Lord on Friday, Oct. 1, 2010. She passed peacefully at home with her mother and sister at her side. Sybil was preceded in death in 1993 by her husband, William Mucklow Sr.
Surviving Sybil are her four children, Sandra Mills, Norma Cook and William Mucklow Jr. of Kingman, and Debra Mucklow of Arkansas. She is also survived by her mother, Sybil Lemasters, and sister, Kathleen Tomlinson of Kingman. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Sybil "Sis" was very involved in numerous activities in Kingman to include her church, Kingman Kutups Square Dance club, and bowling on the Senior Bowling League. She was known as "the cookie lady" and was always providing baked goods at all of her favorite functions. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, at the LDS Church, 3180 Rutherford Drive in Kingman.
Rosella Mae Cassidy
Rosella Mae Cassidy, 87, of Kingman passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, in Kingman. She was born Nov. 2, 1922, the second of nine children, in Shevlin, Minn.
She was raised in Minnesota on a farm during the Depression. In 1944, she married Jim Cassidy. They moved from Montana to Kingman in 1957 and lived there for 13 years while owning Jim's Glass, after which they lived in Minnesota until 1986, then re-located back to Kingman.
She was a founding member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was raised in a musical family and played and loved music all her life. One of her greatest pleasures was feeding people and being such a good cook. She always could find someone to eat what she made.
She loved God, attending church and fellowshipping with the other members.
Rosella is survived by her daughter, Linda (Gary) Overson; son, Jim (Betty) Cassidy; brothers, Albert (Judy) and Daryl Fradenburgh; sister, Sharron (Richard) Sand; sister-in-law, Peggy; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19, at Grace Lutheran Church, 2101 Harrison St. Her ashes will be interred in Minnesota beside her husband at Moose Creek Cemetery at a later date.

Thelma Rucker
Long-time Kingman resident Thelma Rucker went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2010.
Thelma was born Dec. 8, 1920, to Lona Elizabeth Smith Dollarhide and William Ernest Dollarhide in Frog Level, Ark., where she lived until the family moved to Kingman in 1932 during The Great Depression.
Mrs. Rucker is survived by Ellis Rucker, her husband of 41 years; her children, Rep. Doris Goodale (Bill), Diana (Logas) Walkup (Wayne), John Wells (Dana), all of Kingman; stepchildren, Richard Rucker (Susie) of Flagstaff and Eileen Polling of Queen Creek; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Goodale, Mike Goodale, Randy Wells, Brad Rucker, Tricia Rucker, Thomas Sissom of Kingman, Wiliam Logas of Prescott, Casey Rucker of Flagstaff, Tracey Sissom of Prescott Valley, Elizabeth Randrup of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and Jennifer Goodale of Stillwater, Minn.
"Granny" received lots of enjoyment from her grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters, Gloria Bolles of Kingman and Adeline Morris of Texas. Thelma is preceded in death by her mother and father, Lona and Ernest Dollarhide; her former husband, John Wells; and two sisters and two brothers.
Thelma operated the Cork and Bottle Liquor Store prior to her marriage to Ellis Rucker in 1969. Together, they started Rucker Motors in 1970. While Ellis operated the dealership, Thelma worked in the County Assessor's Office. She was recognized by the Mohave County Board of Supervisors upon retirement in 1997 for her 25 years of service at the age of 77.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, at Manzanita Baptist Church, 2040 Golden Gate Ave. Following a brief graveside ceremony at Mountain View Cemetery, 1301 Stockton Hill Road, there will be a celebration of Thelma's life at Manzanita Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, Thelma requested donations be sent to Manzanita Baptist Church for various programs, and New Hope Hospice, 415 E. Andy Devine, Kingman, AZ 86401-5826.
Charles W. Plummer Jr.
Charles W. Plummer Jr., born April 3, 1942, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Plummer, and two sons, Clay and Danny Plummer.
He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Memorial services are planned for 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, in the hall at the F.O.E. Lodge, 4536 N. Patsy Drive.
Faye Parker Tackis
On Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, heaven was blessed - Faye Parker Tackis went to be with our Lord. Everyone who knew Faye loved and revered her. Even though her family and friends were saddened by her passing, all are celebrating her meeting with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Faye was born into the Pritchard family in Bullard, Texas, on Dec. 15, 1926. She later married B.R. Parker (U.S. Navy-WWII) and they were together for 46 years. They had one daughter, Teresa, the pride and joy of her life, and lived most of their years in Tyler, Texas. Faye adored the growth and beings of Teresa's family.
After B.R. passed away, Faye was blessed with her marriage to Pete Tackis (U.S. Marine Corps-WWII) and enjoyed 14 wonderful years together in the Golden Valley. As Faye's health deteriorated these last six years, Pete gave the most loving care to his beloved Faye.
Faye was a devoted Christian. She was so proud of her belonging to first Golden Valley Baptist Church, and for the last 10 years, their wonderful Manzanita Baptist Church. Her church family meant everything to her. God bless you all, Faye's wonderful friends.
All who knew her agreed that you could never meet a lovelier lady. She was known for her smile (none better), her inspiration, and the best fruit pies with the greatest crust of all time.
Faye is survived by her husband, Pete Tackis of Golden Valley; her brother, E.V. (Bud) Pritchard Jr. of Tyler; sister, Mae Lloyd of Joshua, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Parker and Mark l. Brodkin of Redondo Beach, Calif.; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Dona and Sam Carpenter of Golden Valley; grandchildren, Kim Villa-Lobos of Palos Verdes, Calif., Paige Brodkin of Pasadena, Calif., Phil and Katie Brodkin of Manhattan Beach, Calif., Austin Carpenter of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mason and Sara Carpenter of Oceanside, Calif., Carrie Carpenter, Golden Valley; and great-grandchildren, belonging to Phil and Katie Trace: Patrick Demarest, Ryan Kelley Demarest, Jenna Laing Brodkin and Eric Philip Brodkin; belonging to Austin Carpenter: Simon Carpenter, Destiny Carpenter, Hope Carpenter.
She was laid to rest in a most beautiful memorial service at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home and interred at Mountain View Cemetery in Kingman on Sept. 13.

Thomas Lee McConley
Thomas Lee McConley was born March 26, 1942, in Elko, Nev. He is the son of Betty Jo Shelton of Kingman and Ira Lee McConley of Ely, Nev., both deceased. Thomas passed away on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, in Reno, Nev.
He is survived by life partner, Tina Barrera of Reno; son, Tristan McConley of Reno; sister, Elizabeth Lee Camp of Knoxville, Tenn.; brother, Robert Gerald McConley of Ely; sister, Colleen Famoso of Kingman; granddaughters, Kyra McConley and Kelah McConley of Reno. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Fred Garcia of Knoxville, Christopher Gamble of Knoxville, Terry Johnson of Moyock, N.C., Robert McConley of Ely, Ira McConley of Oroville, Calif., Steven Walsh of Phoenix, Laurie Jo McAfee of Kingman, Lance Cpl. Emmanuella Famoso of Beaufort, S.C., Elizabeth Famoso of Kingman and Shalina Rohm of Kingman.
Thomas was a devoted father and a loving brother and uncle. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor. His laughter was contagious. We will miss him dearly. Thomas was interred Monday, Oct. 18, at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nev.
Elizabeth Jane Cole
Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Cole passed quietly and rejoined her loved ones on Monday, Oct. 18, 2010.
She was born July 2, 1921, in Chicago to Edward Henry and Minnie Bell Jordan.
Betty was preceded in passing by her eldest daughter, Sharron Elizabeth Cole Spangler; her beloved husband, Chester; her brother, John Jordan; and her sister, MaryAnne Finnegan.
Betty moved to Kingman in 1984 after Chet's passing to be closer to her sister, MaryAnne.
Betty and Chet successfully ran their own pharmacy for more than 27 years, first in Fox Lake, Ill., and then in Richmond, Ill.
They both enjoyed the outdoors and loved fly-fishing in the lakes and rivers around Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois.
At home, Betty especially enjoyed tending to her plants and her yard. She raised African violets in Illinois but changed to succulents when she moved to Kingman.
She also took up woodworking and carved unique figures into natural pieces of wood, using the existing grain, swirls and coloration to guide her carving.
She started walking in earnest when she moved to Kingman. One year, she and her border terrier, Cassie, put on a little over 600 miles traveling the foothills on the west side of Hualapai Mountain Road.
Mom loved her family with all her heart and wrote some beautiful and touching poetry. She was a great mom and we will dearly miss her.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Sheila Cole of Kingman; her son, Scott Cole and two grandsons Terren A.Z. Cole and Quentin J. Cole, all of Mesa; and other nieces and nephews around the country.
Services will be private.
