Julia Irene Marr Boehme, 67, passed away December 20, 2003 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born to Frank & Minnie (Swanson) Marr on August 28, 1936 in Los Angeles, CA.

Julia made Lake Havasu her home 30 years ago moving here from Hawthorne, CA. She loved her family, friends and home and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Julia is survived by her loving sons, Charles Boehme and John Boehme, both of Lake Havasu City and Erik Boehme of Tigard, OR; four grandchildren, Charles, Max, Andrew & Katrina.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, December 23, 2:00 PM at the Church of the Nazarene with Pastor John Sweeney officiating.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

William (Bill) Milton Humphreys passed away on December 20, 2003 at Lake Hills Inn in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on October 8th, 1913 to Stella and Ulna Humphreys in Humboldt, TN.

Bill moved his family here in the pioneer days of Havasu in 1966 with plans to open Bill’s Enco Service Station at the intersection of Acoma and McCulloch Blvd. Bill owned and operated services stations in Tennessee, Florida and Phoenix before coming to Havasu, back in the days when service stations really meant “service.” Customer service was one of Bill’s gifts as he was known to run out to greet each customer with a big smile and a kind word.

Bill was a southern gentleman whose sweet spirit and warm smile touched the lives of all who knew him. Bill loved to tell stories beginning each one with the make and of the car he drove at the time. Bill’s life was filled with hard work, many cars, travel and most of all people and a loving family who he was devoted to.

Bill was married three times in his life journey, preceded in by all three wives, Prudence Peterson, Rebecca Malone and Virginia Dick. He was also preceded in by his father Ulna Humphreys and mother Stella Boone. He is survived by his brother Boone Humphreys of Humboldt, TN; son Jerry Humphreys of Orlando, FL; daughters Debbie Alpe of Hayden, CO; Carol Biehn of Lake Havasu City, AZ; and 12 grandchildren; William Paul, Jerrie Lynn, Kyna, Luis, Julie, Katherine, Mary Jane, Alyssa, Aaron, Jared, Ashleigh and Jesse.

Bill was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be missed very much.

The family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to the Lake Hills Inn Employee Scholarship Fund at Lake Hills Inn, 278l Osborn Dr; Lake Havasu City, AZ; 86406, 928-505-5552.

A memorial service will be held at St. Michael’s United odist Church on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2003 at 5:00 pm with Pastor Lyndon Mason and Pastor Rick Carling officiating.

Elmina Turpel, 89, passed away on December 16th, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nv. She was born on February 1st, 1914 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Elmina moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 22 years ago from Peabody, MA.

She is survived by her sons David Weston of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Richard Weston of Torrance, CA; brother Floyd Tinkham of Hampton Beach, NH; sister Helen Eastwood of Seabrook, NH; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be held at Lietz- Chapel on Friday, December 19th, 2003 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Friday, December 19th, 2003 at 7:00 PM.

Interment will be at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens, Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Arrangement were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Vesta Mae Stevenson, 87, passed away on Thursday, December 11th, 2003 in Lake Havasu City, Az. She was born to Fred and Maun (Martin) Baner on February 20th, 1916 in New Boston, IL.

Vesta moved to Lake Havasu City, Az; 25 years ago from East Moline, Ill. She worked for Moline Public Hospital as an OB Technician in Moline, Ill. for 20 years. Vesta collected dolls and enjoyed knitting and crafts.

She is survived by her son Michael J. Stevenson of Lake Havsu City, Az; daughters Judi A. Bush of Lake Havasu City, Az; Wendi J. Whitson of Rock Island, Ill; brother Charles Baner of Decatur, Ill; sister Polly Johnson of So. Burlington, VT; grandchildren Lonnie Stevenson of Lake Havasu City, Az; Tiffany Graybeal of Flagstaff, Az; Michael and Jamie Laughlin of Rock Island, Ill; Shannon Boeset of Cleveland, Oh; Sean Stevenson of Scottsdale, Az; Sarah Laughlin of Chicago, Ill; and 6 great grandchildren. Vesta was preceded in by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 68 years James Nelson Stevenson.

A memorial service will be held at the Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Saturday, December 20th, 2003 at 11:00 am with Pastor Claude Bulger officiating.

The family request donations be made in her name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Az; 86405. Donations envelopes are available at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Larry J. Weber, 6l, passed away on December 13th, 2003 at Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on August 30th, 1942 in Reading, PA.

Larry moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 25 years ago from Douglassville, PA. He worked in sales for 18 years and most recently worked at Competitive Trailers in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Larry served proudly in the U.S. Navy. He was also a member of the Lake Havasu Chapter of Eagles.

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Kathleen Weber of Lake Havasu City, Az; daughters Kelly and Lauren Weber both of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Michelle Weber Smith of PA; Barbara Goudy of Goldsboro NC; mother Mary Lou Weber Mathewson of Reading, PA; and grandchildren Nicholas Goudy and Grace Ann Smith. He was preceded in by his father Joe and his brother Rick

A memorial service will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Thursday, December 18th, 2003 at 7:00 pm with Rev. Richard Rounds officiating.

The family requests that donations be made in Larry’s name to the charity of your choice.

Alice Emilie Nyquist, 84, passed away December 14, 2003 in Yuma, AZ. She was born to Frank & Emilija (Yuska) Swinsky on January 12, 1919 in Chicago, IL.

Alice was a resident of Lake Havasu for 10 years before moving to Yuma to be near her sister. She spent most of her life in Chicago where she worked as a switch board operator. She loved to bake especially when it came around to the holidays.

Alice is survived by her family, son, Kenneth E. Nyquist of Kingman, AZ; two daughters, Donna C. Lucas of Pleasant Hill, CA and Dianne C. Nyquist of California City, CA; brother, Richard Swin of Naples, FL; sister, Emilie Traver of Yuma, AZ; seven grandchildren, Laura Nakamura, Jennifer Lucas, Kevin Lucas and his wife, Lucy, Melissa Lucas, Sherri Orland, Scott Orland and Allie Marie Nyquest; two great grandchildren, Rachelle Nakamura and Lucas Nakamura and Baby Boy Lucas who is due in January.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 11:30 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Father Charles Murphy will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.

Alice will be dearly missed by her beloved family and friends.

Lydia Brueckner Domroes, 95, passed away December 14, 2003 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born to Otto & Bertha (Braun) Brueckner on August 17, 1908 in Milwaukee, WI.

Lydia has been a resident of Lake Havasu for the past 33 years, moving here from Milwaukee where she worked for the John Oster Co. for 16 years as a marketing representative. After she retired in 1971, she moved to Lake Havasu City to be with her daughter. While here, she worked as a manager for the Tastee-Freeze Drive-In.

Lydia belonged to the Lake Havasu Senior Center and the Stonebridge Christian Assembly, where she was a Sunday School teacher and known as “Grandma Lydia” to the children. She was also active in the Christian Womens' Ministries for many years.

She is survived by her loving family, daughters, Lois A. Davis and her husband Steven of Lake Havasu and Gloria Muhich and her husband John of Milwaukee, WI; one sister, Edna Wiesner of West Bend, WI; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Lydia is preceded in by her beloved husband, Richard, who passed away in 1970.

Memorial services will be held at Stonebridge Christian Fellowship, Saturday, January 24, 11:00 AM with Pastor Richard Tatham officiating.

The family request donations be made to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
