Delia A. Cobb
December 10, 1906 - July 03, 2003

Delia A. Cobb,of Sedona. formerly of Cottonwood died July 3. She was born December 10, 1906 in Hot Springs, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Mrs. Gertrude Barnard.
She is survivied by two sons, Robert Short of Cornville and David Short of Huntington Beach, California. Mrs Cobb is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Lorna Evans of Deerfield, Florida. She also was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was greatly beloved by many of her large family as well as the many friends she made throughout her wonderful life. She was always known for helping and caring for others. She will always be remembered as she will be missed. Mrs. Cobbwas 96 years at her transition.
Mrs. Cobb will be interred in her late husband's crypt in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California.
Westcott Funeral Home assisted the family with these arrangements.

Joseph W. Salazar, Jr.
January 24, 1962 - July 05, 2003

Joseph William Salazar, Jr., 41, of Phoenix, died July 5 in Phoenix. He was born January 24, 1962 in Phoenix.
He attended St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Phoenix.
He was a member of the Yavapai-Apache Nation and has many relatives in the Verde Valley.
He leaves his wife, Claudia Salazr of Phoenix; three daughters, Karolyn Salazar, Kasarah Salazar and Cheyenne Salazar, all of Phoenix; four sons, Avery Salazar, Joseph Salazar, Quanah Salazar, Tahza Salazar all of Phoenix; his father, Joseph Salazar, Sr. of Phoenix; a sister, Bernadine Salazar; three brothers, Clarence Salazar, Roland Salazar and Warren Salazar; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Friday, July 11 in the Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave. Cottonwood at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale.

Peggy Ann Scarborough
April 29, 1931 - July 04, 2003

Peggy Ann (Pan)Scarborough, 72, of Cottonwood passed on the evening of Friday, July 4 after a brief illness. She was born on April 29, 1931 in Bismark, North Dakota to Colonel Bird Little and Margret Ann Sherwood.
On November 7, 1959, Peggy married Robert Leslie Scarborough of Los Angeles in Las Vegas, Nevada. She retired from Pacific Telephone Company in California in October 1983 after 30 years of service. She dedicated her life to the study of metaphysics and the kind treatment of animals.
She is preceded in death by her father in 1961, her mother in 1990, her husband in 1979 and numerous beloved animals.
She is survived by her sister, Susan McTurk of Cottonwood; niece Jamara and her husband John Falcha of Clarkdale and their children: Cheyenne, Nevada and Dakota; niece Jennifer McTurk of Cottonwood and her son Connor; nephew John McTurk of Connecticut and beloved Merlin.
If you wish to honor her memory, do something wonderful for an animal.

Mary F. Hunt
January 08, 1919 - June 19, 2003

Mary Frances Hunt of Lake Montezuma,AZ passed away peacefully, in her sleep, at her home, June 19, 2003.
Born Mary Frances Lackey on January 8, 1919 to Bernice and Edna Lackey in Pueblo, Colorado. Raised in the greater Los Angeles, California area, she married Thomas Arthur Hunt (deceased) January 15, 1948.
Mary is survived by three children, Elizabeth Holtschneider of Taneytown, Maryland, John B. Hunt of Jacksonville, Florida and Thomas A. Hunt of Willcox, Arizona; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mary Hunt retired from the Town of Buckeye where she served for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress, quilter and an intense reader. A lover of art, music and education.Donations in her memory may be made to the Beaver Creek School, Rimrock, AZ 85335.
Westcott Funeral Home was entrusted with these arrangements.

Violet Marie Wright
July 15, 1954 - July 09, 2003

Violet Marie Wright, 48, of Cottonwood, Arizona died on Wednesday, July 9th. She was born in Celina, Tennessee on July 15, 1954.
A resident of Arizona for 10 years, Mrs. Wright worked as a homehealth caregiver through Verde Valley Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband, Francisco Esparza of Cottonwood; a daughter: Tosha Rones of Cottonwood; two sons: Scott Hooper of Crescent City, California; Joel Hill of Reno, Nevada; two sisters: Tammy Shugart and Mary Lou Cook; two brothers: Timmy Branom and Tommy Branom all of Sacramento, California; grandmother Rosie Massengill; three grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 14 in the Westcott Funeral Home starting at 12 noon. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m.

Keith A. Boe
October 27, 1930 - June 15, 2003

Keith A. Boe, 72, of Cornville died June 15. He was born October 27, 1930 in Bog Stone County, Minnesota.
He was a retired sales represenative for heavy equipment. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Among his survivors include his sister, Nancy Lund of Cottonwood.
Military burial will be in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, Monday, June 23 at 10 AM.

John C. Schmidt
March 25, 1909 - June 19, 2003

John C. Schmidt, 94, of Cottonwood died June 19 in Cottonwood. He was born March 25, 1909 in Chicago, Illinois.
He was a retired slaes represenative for an electronics manufacturer.
His services and burial are being handled by the Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri.

Herman J. Bartell
June 16, 1916 - June 22, 2003

Herman J. Bartell, 86, of Sedona died June 22. He was born June 16, 1916 in Rochester, New York.
He was a retired General Contractor.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by two daughters, Nola M. Dewester of Covina, California and Judy and her husband Phil Kelley of Sedona; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
There are no public services planned. Interment was in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
Westcott Funeral Home was entrusted with these arrangements.

Edna R. Simpson
December 13, 1924 - June 24, 2003

Edna Ruth Simpson, 78, of Cottonwood died June 24. She was born December 13, 1924 in Laurel, Mississippi.
She had worked in the electronics industry.
She leaves her lovng companion of 43 years, Mary Lou Atchison; a son, Charles W. Simpson of Phoenix; three brothers, Rudolph Walters of Fairoaks, California, Charles Walters of Morgan City, Louisiana and Dan Eugene Walters of Laurel, Mississippi.
Private family services were held.
Westcott Funeral Home assisted the family with these arrangements.

Harvey V. Rowton
June 15, 1931 - April 13, 2004

Harvey Vernon Rowton, 72, of Camp Verde died April 13. He was born June 15, 1931 in Gilbert, Arizona.
He attended Chemeketa Community College and retired from Children Services for the State of Oregon. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed camping, visiting, travel, kids and grandkids.
Mr. Rowton is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara; sons, Edgar Rowton of College Park, Maryland, Terry Rowton of Camp Verde, Jubal Rowton of Falls City Oregon and Harvey Rowton of Camp Verde; three daughters, Valerie Best of Independence, Oregon, Verna Cook of Monmouth, Oregon, and Debbie Schafer of Tigert, Oregon; three sisters, Mary Howard of Las Vegas, Nevada, Aline Surman of Reno Nevada, and Shirley Swader of Oroville, Oregon; fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 17 in the Westcott Funeral Home in Camp Verde from 2-4 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 18 in the First Baptist Church (across the street) at 2 PM.
Burial will be in Middle Verde Cemetery in Middle Verde.

Pamela Sue Bishop
September 26, 1957 - April 23, 2004

Pamela Sue Bishop, 46, of Cottonwood died April 23. She was born September 26, 1957 in Hammond, Indiana.
Pam served in the Army. She had worked as a surgical technician.
She leaves a daughter Courtney Bishop of Cottonwood.
Private family services were held.
Westcott Funeral Home assisted the family with these arrangements.

Dorothy E. Stalo
April 11, 1926 - May 07, 2004

Dorothy E. Stalo, 78, of Cottonwood died May 7. She was born April 11, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan.
She was a graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She had worked as a teacher in California and Michigan and was known in this area as a teacher for the Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District and taught in the West Sedona Elementary School.
She enjoyed reading and loved children.
Mrs. Stalo leaves her husband of 54 years, Clyde H. Stalo; a son, Kim J. Stalo of Phoenix; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Friday May 7 in the Westcott Funeral Home.
Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer`Society, 2724 E. Lakin, Suite 9, Flagstaff 86004 or to the Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood 86326.
