Judith A. Mudersbach
September 15, 1940 - March 27, 2005

Judith Ann Mudersbach, 64, of Cottonwood died March 27. She was born September 15, 1940 in Los Angeles, California.
She graduated from Scottsdale High School. Mrs. Mudersbach had worked as a secretary at the Manzanita Speedway and as owner of The Cooler Pad.
She enjoyed line dancing, cards and auto racing.
She leaves her husband of 20 years, Larry Mudersbach; two sons, Jeffrey Branaman of Sedona, Dennis and wife Geri Branaman of Cottonwood; a stepson, Ryan Mudersbach of San Diego, California; stepdaughters, Lauree Moffett of Goshen, Indiana, Gretchen Hernandez of Poway, California and Rachel Wink of Murrietta, California; a brother, Dan and wife Gail Modglin of Phoenix; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 2 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 10 AM.

Thomas Leonard Sexton
August 07, 1917 - March 31, 2005

Thomas Leonard Sexton, 87, of Cottonwood, Arizona passed away on Thursday, March 31st. He was born in Pomerene, Arizona on August 7, 1917.

Mr. Sexton has now joined the love of his life Marjorie, his parents and two brothers. He is survived by daughters Ruth Williams and Barbara Williams (Bob)of Cottonwood. A sister Mildred Haywood of Clarkdale; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 5th at 10:00 A.M. at the Verde Baptist Church ( the new sanctuary) 102 S. Willard Street in Cottonwood.
Donations may be sent to the Verde Valley Christian School 102 S. Willard St. Cottonwood, AZ 86326 or to Northern Arizona Hospice 269 S. Candy Lane Cottonwood, AZ 86326. Westcott Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Sandra Kay Paul
May 12, 1959 - March 29, 2005

Sandra Kay Paul, 45, of Cottonwood,Arizona died Tuesday, March 29th. Ms. Paul had been a Cottonwood resident since 1996 and enjoyed living in the Verde Valley area where she spent time with family and many friends.
Ms. Paul was born in Wichita, Kansas on May 12, 1959. At the age of five, she moved to Arizona where she grew up in Mesa graduating from Westwood High School. Before settling in Cottonwood, she lived in Phoenix, Yuma and Las Vegas.
As a homemaker, Ms. Paul raised three children. She loved camping,traveling, collecting poetry and collecting M&M; figurines. She took pride in helping those in need and willingly shared anything she had. She always tried to make a difference in everyone's lives no matter who they were.
Ms. Paul is survived by her adult children Jason Tardiff of Florence Arizona and Jennifer Tardiff of Peoria, Arizona, as well as her 16 year old son Justin Paul of Cottonwood, Arizona; her parents: Daniel and Kathryn Seal of Cottonwood, Arizona; her sisters: Sharon Ruster of Coopersville, Michigan; Susan Lindsey of Safford, Arizona; a grandchild, Jacob Brogdon of Peoria, Arizona and companion David Poe of Cottonwood, Arizona.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 3rd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Avenue Cottonwood, Arizona. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 4th at 10:00 A.M. also at Westcott Funeral Home.

David C. Covin
November 16, 1950 - March 26, 2005

David C. Covin, of Cottonwood, died March 26, 2005 at the age of 54. He was born November 16, 1950 in San Diego, CA to Stenobrey and Ruth Covin.
He was a western artist.
Mr. Covin is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cynthia; a son Joshua of Cottonwood; and his father Stenobrey Covin also of Cottonwood.
Family requests any donations to be sent to the American Heart Association: 2929 S. 48th St., Tempe, AZ 85285.
Westcott Funeral Home handled these arrangements.

Alvin Duane Steele
February 13, 1941 - April 02, 2005

Alvin Duane Steele, 64, of Camp Verde died April 2. He was born February 13, 1941 in Malone Township, Illinois.
He retired from Simmons after over 20 years in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. A member of the Baptist Church he enjoyed car races and was accepted and loved by all who knew him.
Mr. Steele is survived by a son, Tracy Steele of Steeleville, Illinois; a step-son Chris of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; a daughter Kim Steele of Steeleville, Illinois; his mother, Betty Orandorff of Pekin,Illinois; two brothers, Raymond Steele of Cottonwood and Delbert Steele of Paducah, Kentucky.
A memorial service will be held at a later time in Illinois.
Donations in his memory may be made to: Special Olympics, 1133 19 St., NW, 12th Floor, Washington, DC 20036-3604.
Westcott Funeral Home assisted the family.

Virginia A. Evans
October 15, 1916 - April 04, 2005

Virgina Adams Evans, 88, of Cottonwood died April 4. She was born October 15, 1916 in Huntington, West Virginia.
Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband George Evans and a daughter Patricia Baumann.
She leaves a son, George W. Evans, Jr.of Phoenix; a son-in-law Dan Baumann of Cottonwood; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 8 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 11 AM. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Verde Valley Humane Society, P O Box 1429, Cottonwood, AZ 86326.

Arthur Athan Mastor
January 12, 1932 - April 01, 2005

Arthur Athan Mastor, 73, of Sedona, Arizona passed away on Friday, April 1st at the Infinia Nursing Home in Cottonwood, Arizona. He was born in Fredonia, New York on January 12, 1932.
Mr. Mastor was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Navy. He earned a Bachelor's Degree of Science from UCLA and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from USC. In 1992 he retired from Hughes Aircraft in California where he had been a financial analyst. Mr. Mastor enjoyed gardening, tennis and coaching youth sports.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Helen; a son Eric from Seattle, Washington, a daughter Elena from Los Angeles, California, his parents Athan and Kaliope Mastor of Fredonia, New York, two brothers, John of Sierra Vista,Arizona and Anthony of Belaire, California, and two grandchildren. A sister, Evy preceded him in death.
On Saturday, April 9th beginning at 3:00 P.M. family and friends are invited to the Mastor Family Residence for a Celebration of Life.
On Friday, April 22nd, Mr. Mastor will be inurned at the National Memorial Cemetery Of Arizona. Westcott Funeral Home of Cottonwood, assisted with arrangements.

Frances May Manley, 89, of Camp Verde, Arizona passed away on Sunday, April 3,2005. She was born in Martinsville, Indiana on April 17, 1915.
A resident of Arizona since 1981

Maria A. Wilson-Leihsing
December 02, 1923 - April 06, 2005

Maria Anna Wilson-Leihsing, 81, of Cottonwood died April 6. She was born December 2, 1923 in Graslite, Czechoslavakia Republic.
She operated the thrift store for the Northern Arizona Council of Government.
Among her insterest were music, she played in her high school band, animals, cooking, flowers and gardening. An avid reader, she also enjoyed spending time with her family.
The National Enquirer presented her with a Good Samaritan Award.
Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her knew how special she was. She helped numerous strangers in their time of need.
The family would like to thank Karen Fulghum, Dr. Colvin and staff and the staff at Home Sweet Home for taking such good care of her.
Preceding her in death were her husbands Ben Wilson and Frank Leihsing and a daughter Ola Nelson.
She is survived by two sons John and Ben Wilson of Prescott; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 15 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 11 AM.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Out of Africa Wild Animal Park or to the Alzheimers Association, 225 Grove St., Suite B, Prescott 86301

Stephen Jr. Lowry-Hamaley

Stephen Jr. Lowry-Hamaley, age 2 months passed away on Thursday, March 31st in Tempe, Arizona. He was born January 10, 2005 in Cottonwood, Arizona, to Christina Renee Hamaley and Stephen Cloud Lowry.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 9th at 1:00 P.M. at the Yavapai-Apache Nation Gymnasium on the Middle Verde Yavapai-Apache Reservation, burial will follow in the Yavapai-Apache Nation Tribal Cemetery. Westcott Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

Ernesto (Ernie) Angel Rojo, Jr.
May 17, 1977 - April 08, 2005

Ernesto "Ernie" Angel Rojo, Jr., 27, of Cornville died on Friday, April 8th. He was born in Flagstaff, Arizona on May 17, 1977.
Ernie was raised in Cottonwood, where he attended Cottonwood Elementary, Middle School and Mingus High School. He worked in the field of construction, joining the union, and becoming an apprentice electrician. He made his first communion at Immaculate Conception Church.
Ernie enjoyed music and electronics. He was a devoted father and especially loved spending time with his daughter, family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Phelani Geneva Rojo of Cottonwood; his mother, Connie Sanchez of Cornville, his father, Ernesto Rojo, Sr. of Phoenix, grandmother, Esther Jean Gonzales of Colorado, two brothers, Robert Frank Blount of Colorado, Joseph E. Blount, Jr. of Cottonwood, three sisters, Monica M. Magana, Carrie L. Zorrilla and Maggie J. Ibarra all of Cottonwood, step-father, Ricardo Romero of Cornville, girlfriend, Alicia Hicks of Cottonwood, a special anut and uncle, Diane & Steve Bigelow of Gilbert and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a nephew Julian Anthony Magana.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14th at the Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Avenue, Cottonwood from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 16th at Immaculate Conception Church at 1:00 P.M. with inurnment at Cottonwood Cemetery.
