Phyllis Ann Leili, 67, passed away February 9, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born to Lawrence and Dorothy (McCartin) White on March 7, 1936 in Minneapolis, MN.

Phyllis moved to Lake Havasu 11 years ago from San Bernardino, CA where she was the Director of Education for the National Education Center for 30 years. She was a very active member of the Catholic Women’s Society and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Phyllis is survived by her loving family, son, Edward Everette Horton of Salt Lake City, UT; daughter, Karen Corman and her husband Craig of Beverly Hills, CA; brothers, Aaron Joseph White and his wife, Ruth of Santa Ana, CA, Owen A. White of Anaheim, CA and Donald Patrick White and his wife, Jerri of Long Beach, CA; sisters, Marion Peters and her husband James of La Mirada, CA and Dorothy E. Baert of Buena Park, CA; grandchildren, Robert James Horton and Bree-ana Horton, both of Salt Lake City, UT, Kyle Corman of Beverly Hills, CA and Catie Taylor of Salt Lake City, UT. She will also be missed by her numerous nephews and nieces, especially her favorite niece, Virginia Moore and her husband Bob of Bellflower, CA.

Phyllis is preceded in by her parents, Lawrence and Dorothy White; husbands, Harvey James Horton and Edward Leili and four siblings.

A rosary will be held Friday, February 13, 2004, 12:30 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Memorial services will follow at 1:00 PM with Father Michael Deptula officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to go to the Building Fund at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church.

Phyllis was a special and caring person and will be missed by many.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.

Lester Keith Thomas, 75, passed away on February 10, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on October 8, 1928 in New Kensington, PA.

Lester moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 10 years ago from Simi Valley, CA. He worked as an Operating Engineer for Local 12 in Los Angeles, CA; for 33 years. Lester proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Moose Lodge for 40 years, was a clown collector and also liked to fish.

He is survived by his daughters Lonnie Blume and husband Al of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Michaela Bradburn and husband Bob of Reno, NV; brother Robert Thomas of CA; sister Linda and grandchildren Elbert Blume Jr; Carrie Law, Vicki Kruse, Dawn Hubbard, Keith and Glen Bradburn and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in by his parents George W. and Florence B. (Eberhart) Thomas, wife Dorothy Thomas and sisters Betty and Norma

Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Friday, February 13, 2004 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Services will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Friday, February 13, 2004 at 12:00 pm. with Marty E. Kruse officiating. Burial will take place at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens with military honors. A reception will follow at the Elks Lodge #2399.

Opal Marie Craft, 90, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2004 at Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Opal was born September 3, 1913 in Waco, TX, the fourth of eight children of John and Sarah Cushing. She moved to Lake Havasu City in 1988 to be with her daughter, Deanna and son-in-law Bill Moore. In the past 16 years she also spent considerable time with her son Robert and daughter-in-law Phyllis Craft in West Hills, CA. Prior to that, she lived in Whittier, CA for more than 30 years. She was a member of the East Whittier United odist Church.

Opal is remembered by her family as a kind and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother, whose family always came first.

In addition to her two children, she is survived by three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one brother, Bill Cushing of Huntington Beach, CA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in by her husband, Robert J. Craft.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 6:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, CA. Services will be held at the Rose Hills Rainbow Chapel on Sunday, February 15, 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Rose Hills Lakeview Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Heart Association.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.

Mildred Irene Miller, 82, passed away on January 24, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Mildred Irene Knauss was born on March 17, 1921 in De Soto, Illinois and spent her early years in and around southern Illinois. She married Marvin Arch Miller of Chesterfield, IL. In 1941, and after Marvin returned from European theater of World War 11, they moved to Michigan, where Mildred raised her four sons. When Marvin retired in 1980, he and Mildred moved to Lake Havasu City. Mildred loved the desert and was grateful to have retired in Lake Havasu City; she never grew tired of looking at the mountains and the lake and the desert birds. Mildred was an accomplished needlepoint artist who enjoyed new experiences and making friends everywhere she went.

Mildred was preceded in by her devoted husband, Marvin.

She is survived by her son Richard Miller of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Robert Miller and his wife Suzanne of San Pedro, CA; Randall Miller of Romulus, MI; and Reed Miller and his wife Sue of Plymouth Township, MI; her sisters Ruth Deeble of San Pedro, CA; Betty Frye of Carson City, NV; and Mary Whittenberg of Carbondale, IL; her grandchildren Holly Gullekson, Stacie Hines, Billy Lenz, Bret Miller, Drew Miller, Jeremy Miller, Matthew Miller, and Jennifer Ray; and her eight great grandchildren.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Charles “Mac” L. Mc Kay passed away on February 3rd, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, Az.

He was born on March 2lst, 1937 in Washington D.C.

Mac married his wife Marge 34 years ago where they lived in San Diego, CA. They moved to Lake Havasu City, Az; 7 years ago. Mac served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed at San Diego Gas & Electric Co. as a welder for 28 years and was a member of the Elks Lodge #2399.

He is survived by his loving wife Marge a local realtor in Lake Havasu City, Az; step-son Gregory Siaumau of San Diego, CA; step-daughters Mona Storey and Leina Bell both of San Diego, CA; Tani Simon of La Jolla, CA; and 13 grandchildren all of San Diego, CA. Mac was preceded in by his parents and 2 step-daughters, Jennie Walker and Tia Siaumau both of San Diego, CA.

Mac along with family and friends had been vacationing in Lake Havasu for 25 years before moving here in 1997. He built their first vacation home in 1991 and later after retirement built their retirement home. Mac loved walking the island every morning with his dog Shadow. He also loved going to the dog park, going to Laughlin, Las Vegas, on cruises, but most of all he loved boating with his wife and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who always looked forward to entertaining them on the lake. Mac succumbed after a long battle with cancer. It is a big loss to all who knew him.

A private memorial service will be held with family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, a “Charles Mc Kay” trust fund has been set up at Horizon Community Bank, 225 N. Lake Havasu Ave, Lake Havasu City, Az; 86403 for a memorial bench to go in the Bridgewater Channel.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Venita Kay Lyon, 49, passed away February 2, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born to John and Marjorie (Gilmore) McKinney on February 22, 1954 in Montgomery, AL.

Venita made Lake Havasu her home 15 years ago, moving here from Grand Junction, CO. She worked for Wal-Mart in Lake Havasu for 1 year. Venita was very involved with the Abundant Grace Assembly of God in Lake Havasu, she loved reading, gardening, music and was an extremely generous person and loved helping people.

Venita is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 16 years, Jimmy Don Lyon; son, James Lyon of Lake Havasu; daughter, Rachel Baros of Lake Havasu; brothers, Douglas McKinney of Grand Junction, CO, Bruce McKinney of Colorado Springs, CO, Brian McKinney of Great Falls, MT and John McKinney of Grand Junction, CO. She will also be dearly missed by eight grandchildren, Dylan, Dalton, Dawson, Brittney, Scott, Elijah, Michael and Elias.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2:00 PM at Abundant Grace Assembly of God with Pastor Lan Blair officiating.

Donations may be made to the First Arizona Savings Lyon Fund in Lake Havasu City.

Venita was a very devoted to her family, faith and friends and will be dearly missed by all.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
