Carl Lee Bowen, 78, passed away in Kingman, Arizona on December 24, 2003. He was born on January 7, 1925 in Gadsden, Alabama to Robert Lee Bowen and Mallie "Coe" Bowen.

Carl moved to Arizona 56 years ago from Alabama. He is a proud veteran of World War II in the United States Army.

Carl is survived by 3 sons, Johnny Lee Bowen, Frederick Lee Bowen, Terry Lee Bowen, daughter Carla Pat Bowen, brother Chuck Bowen and friend Lela Wederski.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Andre Albert Guilmet, 84, passed away December 24, 2003 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to August & Marthe (Grenu) Guilmet on December 5, 1919 in Paris, France.

Mr. Guilmet made Lake Havasu his home 14 years ago, moving here from Santa Monica, CA where he worked for Dynatech as an engineer for 20 years.

Andre is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Lucette and one daughter Patricia A. Guilmet of Santa Monica, CA.

He will be forever missed by all who knew him.

Ruth Deane Jackson, 76, passed away May 6, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born to John and Elenor (Hazelton) Bobp on November 5, 1927 in Shelby, MT.

Ruth moved to Lake Havasu December of 2003; has been a resident of Arizona for 2 years from Orcutt, CA where she worked for Unocal Corp as a personal clerk for 42 years.

Ruth is survived by her son, Alec Gentry of Lake Havasu; daughter Tracy Hernandez and brother, Dallas Bobp.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.

Joseph Bertinetti Jr., 56, passed away April 30, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Joseph Bertinetti Sr. and Virignia (Grunalt) Bertinetti on July 23, 1947 in Detroit, MI.

Joe moved to Lake Havasu 28 years ago from Royal Oak, MI. He was a proud veteran in the US Army during the Vietnam War. For 25 years, he was self employed as a lather and plasterer in the Lake Havasu area.

Joe is survived by his loving family, sons, Joseph Anthony Bertinetti and Jake Bertinetti, both of Lake Havasu; mother, Virginia Bertinetti of Campbell, CA; sister, Christine Kavanagh of Saratoga, CA; three grandchildren, Hannah, Harlie and Alex.

He was preceded in by his father Joseph Bertinetti Sr.

A celebration of life was held for Joe on Saturday, May 8th at the home of his good friends Steve and Carol.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.

Bernadine Hodges Hallahan, 87, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at her home in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Bernadine was born on September 6, 1916 in Salina County, KS.

She lived in Kansas City, KS. prior to moving to Glendale, CA; then retiring to Hemet, CA. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hemet.

Bernadine married Leland (Hal) Hallahan on May 9, 1937. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1990. Her survivors include her children Mike Hallahan of Grants Pass, OR; Kathleen Lyon of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Jim Hallahan of Santee, CA; four sisters, Delores Rhodes of Sun City, AZ; Letha Skiles and Phyllis Robinson both of Hamilton, MO; Wanda Paulson of Breckenridge, MO; 11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Miller Jones Mortuary, in Hemet, CA; on Monday May 10, 2004 at 11:30AM. A reception will follow at the mortuary. Burial will be beside her beloved husband at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory, and Miller Jones Mortuary.

Mildred (Hagemeyer) Meyer, 94, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2004 at Havasu Regional Medical Center, Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born on November 7, 1909 in Mt. Carmel, IL.

Mildred and Adolph moved from Salt Lake City, UT; to Lake Havasu City, AZ; in 1966. She loved doing crafts, fishing, bowling and playing bridge. Mildred was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church. She was the love of our lives.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 year, Adolph Meyer, who were married on July 2, 1934; daughter Mildred Jensen and husband Bob of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Sallie Larsen and husband Mel of Henderson, NV; sons Jim Meyer and wife Diana of Bellevue, WA; Richard Meyer and wife Corina of Salt Lake City, UT; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in by one son Robert and a grandson.

A memorial service will be held at Community Presbyterian Church on Monday May 10, 2004 at 11:00 AM with Doctor David Bybee officicating.

The family request that donations be made in Mildred’s name to the Western Arizona Humane Society, 1100 Empire Dr., Lake Havasu City, AZ; 86404, American Heart Assoc; 2929 South 48th, St; Tempe, AZ; 85282 or the charity of your choice.

Harold A. “Swede” Wachholz, 76, died on May 1, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Swede was born on January 24, 1928 in Loyal, WI; son of George and Ida Wachholz.

He went into the Navy January 24, 1946 and moved to Clatskanie, OR; in April 1950, where he met Caroline J. Williams and they were married on Thanksgiving Day, 1950.

Swede started in the lumber business in Astoria, OR; and moved to Grants Pass, OR; in 1952 and managed Grants Pass Lumber from 1952 to 1961. He spent nine months in Portland in the retail lumber business and then in May of 1962 purchased Kootenai Building Supply, Inc; in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. Swede retired and closed that business in 1982.

He was active in the Elks, Eagles, Hayden Lake Country Club, Gyro Club of Coeur d’ Alene and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Coeur d’ Alene. Swede and Caroline had a 40 acre ranch on the Rathdrum Prairie. After his retirement they spent a lot of time traveling and had homes in Yuma, AZ; and Leisure Park in Hayden Lake. Caroline passed away on August 16, 1997. Swede married Roberta Parsons on October 7, 2000 and they made their home in Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Swede lost his oldest son Joseph in May of 2002. He is survived by his wife Roberta; Joe’s wife Susie and grandson Jantzen Peake and granddaughter Chelsea Peake of Colorado; son George Wachholz and wife Amy; grandson George Raymond H. Wachholz of Coeur d’ Alene, ID. Swede had a brother and two sisters who preceded him in .

Memorial services are pending

Contributions may be made to Hospice of North Idaho or the American Cancer Society.
