Rex Allen Williams
Graveside services for Rex Allen Williams, formerly of the Gila Valley, were April 21, 2006 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Odessa, Texas.
Rex was born April 26, 1946, to Warren Waylon Williams and Doris Maxine Crown in the community of Flora, Ill. He moved to the Gila Valley with his family in 1959, where they first settled in Pima and later moved to Safford.
Shortly after the death of his parents, Rex traveled the country from California to Maryland and eventually made his home in Odessa. He worked in and around oil fields for 20 years.
As a youngster, Rex learned the art of fishing from his father. Rex was always ready to drop whatever he was doing to go fishing - no matter what. It could be hot or cold, but it never seemed to matter to Rex.
Rex was a kind and generous person who was always willing to pitch in and help anyone and everyone. He was the type who would give a stranger the shirt off his back
Rex is survived by his brother, Warren Williams Sr. of Safford; niece, Nancy (Zane) Bell of Safford; nephew, Warren (Toni) Williams Jr. of Safford and numerous other nieces and nephews across the United States..
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Waylon and Doris Maxine (Crown); sister, Linda Ferguson; and older brother, Glenn Ray Williams.
The family expresses its utmost and sincere thanks to all of the wonderful people at the Avalone Nursing Facility who gave care to Rex in a kind and giving manner. They always extended the courtesy and dignity that Rex deserved in his time of need.
Rex will be missed by all who ever met him, especially his family and closer friends.

Beulah Alder
Funeral services for Beulah Alder, 95, of Pima were conducted Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at the Pima LDS Chapel. Interment followed in the Pima Cemetery.
Mary Beulah Bryce Alder was born July 21, 1910, in Safford to Heber Brooks Bryce and Dortheia Jorgensen Bryce.
She attended Safford High School and later married Joseph Elbert Alder of Pima. They resided on a family farm just south of Pima, where Elbert was active in farming and ranching.
There, they raised their three children, Ila Rae, Rodney Bryce and Marden Elbert. Beulah was very active in the LDS Church all of her life and was very devoted to her family.
Ila Rae married Alden Porter of Phoenix and lived there until her death. Rodney married Rita Powell, and they lived in Pima and managed the farm and ranch until his death in 2001. Marden is a retired dentist and lives with his wife, Sharon, in San Antonio, Texas.
Beulah enjoyed her family and loved family get-togethers. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren when they came to visit.
Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert; daughter, Ila Rae Porter; son, Rodney Alder; and grandson, Mark Alder.
She is survived by her son, Marden (Sharon) Alder; son-in-law, Alden Porter; daughter-in-law, Rita Alder; 12 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all.

Carol Jean Thomas
Carol Jean Thomas lost her long battle with illness April 12, 2006. She was surrounded by loved ones and leaves this world for a better place for all who knew her and felt His loving heart.
Carol was born Dec. 31, 1933, in Sioux City, Iowa, where she thrived on her grandpa's popcorn farm in the summers. She moved to Arizona with her family in 1948 and settled in Cochise County. She fell in love with the area.
In 1950, Carol married Fred M. Thomas. Together they raised a family, then retired to their home in Ramsey Canyon, which was their "heaven on Earth."
During her life, Carol was deeply involved in all of her family's activities, including sports, education, hunting and fishing, 4-H and music. Her hobbies included all types of crafts, cooking for family and friends and recording her family's history through biographies and short stories. She took pictures of everything, especially her friends the deer, which visited her daily. Actually, any animal would do.
Carol was a wonderful nurse who never received a degree but still spent her life taking care of loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Fred E. and Neva Olson; birth mother, Esther Lyren; sister, Helen Sheek; brother, Eric Olson; and son, Daniel F. Thomas.
Carol is survived by her husband of 56 years, Fred M. Thomas; sons, Robert B. (Karen) Thomas and David M. (Ana) Thomas; daughter, Kathryn L. (Gary) Utter; brother, Russell C. (Barbara) Olson; sisters, Lisa Olson and Mary Frances Cane; grandchildren, Fred M. (Brenda) Thomas II, Amber Thomas, Robert B. (Jeni) Thomas Jr., Eric D. Thomas, Sharon R. Thomas, Monica Thomas, Jonathon Thomas, Seth Clark, Nicole Gerkin, Ben Gerkin, Danielle Utter, Ray (Malissa) Utter and Shawna Utter; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
There are many others who have called her mom, grandma and good friend. There are no words to tell it all. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, breast cancer research, American Diabetes Association or any other charity.

Delight F. Neeley
Delight F. Neeley, 85, passed away April 15, 2006, at Banner Desert Medical Center in Tucson. She was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Fairmount, Ind., to the late George and Marie (Welsh) Stroup.
She spent her winters in Arizona and summers at Sports Lake Campground. Delight married her husband of 67 years, Chester Neeley, on Sept. 2, 1939.
She retired from RCA in 1977 after 27 years with the company. She was a member of the Fairmount Church of God and the Red Hat Society. Delight also enjoyed doing crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Chester Neeley of Thatcher; daughters, Joyce (David) Keim of Thatcher and Jeanne Neeley of Mesa; sons, Rex Neeley of Austin, Texas, Terry (Cindy) Neeley of Tempe and Kevin Neeley of Mesa; sister, Ruth Moore of Illinois; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Delight was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jessica Hunt.
Visitation was April 21 at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service North Chapel in Marion, Ind. Services followed April 22, with Rev. Robert Stroup officicating.

Rose Marie Davis Rodriguez
Rose Marie Davis Rodriguez, 47, of Safford passed away Friday, May 30, 2008, in Tucson. She was born Dec. 11, 1960, to Richard A. Davis and Evelyn Moreno Davis.
Services will be Wednesday, June 4, at St. Mary’s Church in Duncan. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., and Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Sheldon Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Caldwell Funeral Chapel.

Ronald Leonard Curtis
Ronald Leonard Curtis, 53, entered into eternal rest Aug. 30, 2008. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Donald Leonard Curtis, and his brother, William Joseph Curtis.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, of 31 years; and their three children, Steven Leonard Curtis of Lawton, Okla., Angela Maria Curtis of Thatcher and William Joseph Curtis of Safford. Ron has 10 grandchildren: Faith, Victoria, Christine, Elizabeth, Stephanie, Emily, Desiree, Jeremiah, Anthony and his princess, Kadie.
He is also survived by his mother, Mary Jane of Wisconsin; and three sisters, Donna Lee Strand of East Troy, Wis., Chris Luedtke of Union Grove, Wis., and Billy Ann Johnson of Salem, Wis.
Ron was born March 10, 1955, while his parents were stationed in San Antonio, Texas. Later, the family moved to Japan and then California before moving to Wisconsin, where they made their home.
Ron married Patricia in 1973 and lived in Wisconsin until their move to Arizona in 1980. While raising their three children, he enjoyed skiing, hunting, fishing and camping. Ron worked at the Morenci mine for 25 years before retiring to Thatcher.
Ron had an unconditional love for his family and a heart of gold. He will be forever missed.
Services were at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel on Sept. 6 at 2 p.m.

Della L. Bellamy
Della L. Bellamy, 63, passed away May 22, 2008. She was born April 21, 1945, to Leonard Lee and Lilly Gertude Yandell.
She was special in her own way to all those who knew her. She was a loving and caring LPN for many years. She was known for her homemade suckers, breads and cookies. She made several wedding and anniversary cakes for friends and family. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Della is survived by her brother, Bill L. Yandell of Casa Grande; her husband, Richard M. Bellamy of Thatcher; daughter Sharmon (James) Earles; son Scotty (Lisa) Bellamy; daughter Mary (Stephen) Duderstadt; grandchildren Timothy Bellamy, Jonathen and Stephanie Duderstadt, all of Safford; mother-in-law Rosie Bellamy of Duncan; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lilly Gertude and Leonard Lee Yandell; sister Rosemary Jefferies; sister-in-law Janet Yandell; and a nephew, David Yandell.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. on May 31 at Real Life Community Church, 106 S. Eighth Ave., Safford, with viewing one hour prior. Graveside services were 1:30 p.m. at the Duncan Cemetery. Services were directed by Morris-David Funeral Home.

Juanita Escamillas
Juanita "Juanie" Escamillas was born Feb. 8, 1931, in Lordsburg, N.M. She attended school in Duncan before her family moved to Morenci. Juanie graduated from Morenci High School in 1950. She worked as a nurse's aide at the Morenci Hospital.
She married Jesus "Chuey" Escamillas on July 16, 1955. In 1961, they and their three children moved to California and four years later moved to Ontario, Calif. They lived there until the mid-1980s.
Juanie was a devoted homemaker during her children's young lives. When they all started attending high school, she became a teacher's aide for the Ontario-Montclair School District. Juanie loved children, and this was an opportunity to continue with that love.
She and Chuey moved to the outskirts of Duncan to a small ranch they had purchased a few years earlier. Juanie loved being the "inside" farmer while Chuey was the "outside" farmer.
She was a very caring and loving person. She was always there to offer a hand whenever asked and even when she was not asked. Her family is going to miss her many jokes. She was constantly coming up with nicknames for people and things. Her enormous love of family, God and friends will be greatly missed. She will be remembered as a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, mother-in-law, comrade and friend.
Juanita is survived by her daughter, Roseanna (Jess) Lopez of Pomona, Calif; sons Jess Escamillas of Tucson, Larry Escamillas of Duncan; sisters Millie Lopez, Martha Sierra, both of Tucson; Catherine Sierra of San Bernardino, Calif.; brothers Paul Sierra of Chandler, Ray Sierra of Port St. Lucy, Fla., and Greg Sierra of Indian Springs, Nev.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Duncan. A rosary was recited Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. at the church. Interment was in the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
