Nelson James Moore

Nelson James Moore of Benson died on Oct. 13, 1999, at the age of 78. Nelson was born on Aug. 15, 1921, in Carter, Okla.

Nelson was an Engineer for Manufacture Planes. Nelson resided in the Benson area for one and a half years. He previously lived in California. Nelson was also a Navy veteran and a member of the 32 Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, S.J. USA.

Nelson is survived by two sons, Bobby (Bonnie) Moore of Quartsite; and Brad Dugan of Long Beach, Calif.; one daughter, Billie (Jeff) Cartner; and grandchildren, Jeff Moore, Kathy Whitney and Carlos Gomez; great-grandchildren, Stephanie Brown, Amber Whitney, Dustin Gomez; and great-great grandchild Emily Robles.

No service was held. Deposition will be at Cochise Gardens of Rest in Benson at a later date.

Arrangements were made by Richardson's Mortuary of Benson.

Rev. Louis Hasenfull

Rev. Louis Hasenfull died on Feb. 28, 2000, at the Holy Trinity Monastery. For information call Richardson's Mortuary at 586-2288.

Ronald J. Moore

Ronald J. Moore, of Benson, passed away on Sept. 14, 1999 at the Benson Hospital, losing his battle with cancer, at the age of 47. Ron was born on July 24, 1952 in Kankakee, Ill. to Richard Lee and Beverly Jean Heston Moore.

Ron married Julie Dix in 1981 and had three sons. Ron was an Arizona resident for 22 years, he previously resided in Illinois. Ron and his family enjoyed the outdoors, water sports, boating, fishing and barbecue. Hunting and poker playing were also family activities.

Ron is survived by his wife, Julie Moore; his sons; Lucas, Matthew and Travis; mother, Beverly Jean Hubbard; brother, Mitchell Myrl Moore all of Benson; father, Richard Lee Moore; sister, Cheryl Rivard (Joel Abrams) of Tucson; brother, Robert Lee Moore Hubbard (Carrollea) of Alaska.

The family will hold their own memorial service. It will be a barbecue and poker party in Ron's memory. The place and time will be their own choosing. Any donations/contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society N.O.R.M.L. Program.

Jack Boore

1936-1999

Jack Boore, of Benson, died on Oct. 23, 1999, at the age of 63. Jack was born on July 10, 1936, in McCune, Kan.

Jack was a businessman in Benson since April of 1966.

Jack was preceded in death by his son, Josh and his grandson, James.

Jack is survived by his wife, Carol Boore; one son, Rusty (Suzy) Boore; Ronda Kern; and Jerrie Ruth (Will) Lopez; a sister and brother; and four grandsons, Derrick, Branden, Antonio and Mathew.

A funeral service was held on Oct. 26, 1999, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment was at the Cochise Garden of Rest.

Timothy J. Davis

1974-1999

Timothy J. Davis, of Benson, died on Nov. 28, 1999, at the age of 25. Timothy was born on Jan. 15, 1974, in Travis County, Tex., to Alvin and Alice Davis.

Timothy was a resident of the Benson area for a year and a half. He previously lived in

Corpus Christi, Tex. He worked as a dishwasher/cook at Denny's in Benson. Timothy also served in the U.S. Army for four years.

Timothy is survived by his mother, Alice Davis of Corpus Christi, Tex.; twin sister, Missy; sister Cinthia both of Corpus Christi, Tex.; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends from Denny's restaurant in Benson.

A service was held on Dec. 4, 1999 at 10 a.m. at the Memory Gardens in Corpus Christi, Tex.

Arrangements were made by Richardson's Mortuary of Benson.

Gwendolyn (Gwen) G. DeLuca

1929-1999

Gwendolyn (Gwen) DeLuca, of St. David, died on Dec. 15, 1999, at the age of 60. Gwen was born on Nov. 18, 1939 in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Gwen was the owner of Memories Unlimited Antique Store in St. David. She was a member of the Benson Merchants Association. Gwen had been a resident of the St. David area for 26 years, she previously lived in New York. She was also a member of Church of our Savior in Benson.

Gwen is survived by her husband, Gerard DeLuca of St. David; one son, Daniel DeLuca of Manhattan, N.Y.; two daughters, Lauralee Matlock of Antwell, Alaska; Dawn DeLuca of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Richard Costello of Long Island, N.Y.; and one granddaughter, Rosalee.

Services will be held on Dec. 22. Please call Richardson's Mortuary at 586-2288 for the location and time of the service. Burial will be held at Cochise Gardens of Rest in Benson.

Arrangements were made by Richardson's Mortuary of Benson.

Linda D. Dibble

1941-1999

Linda D. Dibble, of St. David, died on Dec. 25, 1999 at the University Medical Center in Tucson, at the age of 58. Linda was born on Dec. 6, 1942 in Summersville, Oregon.

Linda was employed as a nurse. She was a resident of the St. David area for five years. She previously lived in Oregon.

Linda is survived by her husband, Dale Dibble of St. David; two sons, Dan Gibson of Bend, Ore.; and Dean (Suzanne) Dibble of Vancouver, Wa.; three grandsons, Damian, Anthony and John.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to any Salvation Army.

Arrangements were made by Richardson's Mortuary of Benson.

William T. Joy

1904-2000

William T. Joy, of St. David, died on Jan. 14, 2000, in Tucson. Bill was born on July 15, 1904, in Kingsville, Mo., to Oliver H. Joy and Josie Lee Sisk Joy.

Bill resided in St. David for three years. He previously lived in Colorado. He worked as a mechanic. Bill married Phyllis Harris in June of 1938. They "snowbirded" for several years prior to a permanent residence in St. David.

Bill is survived by his wife, Phyllis Joy of St. David; one daughter, Joyce (Dick) Ackerson of Colorado; one grandson, Rick; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Jan. 16, 2000 at the community hall of Apache Mobile Park, in St. David. Viewing was afterward at the San Pedro Funeral Home, in St. David. Bill was forwarded to Colorado for internment.

Arrangements were made by Bisbee/San Pedro Funeral Homes.

Eugene L. Wells

1921-1999

Eugene L. Wells, of Benson, died on Dec. 10, 1999, at Tucson Medical Center, at the age of 78. Eugene was born on May 13, 1921, in Burlingame, Kan.

Eugene worked as a Department of Defense supervisor. He lived in Arizona for 55 years, residing in the Benson area for 30 years. He previously lived Kansas. He also was a member of the American Legion Post #7 and a lifetime member of DAV of Tucson.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Bettye Wells of Benson/J-6 and one brother, Jack Wells of Overbrook, Kan.

Services will be held on Saturday, at 10:30 a.m., at Richardson's Mortuary Chapel.

Arrangements were made by Richardson's Mortuary of Benson.

Anita Merie Miller

1931-2000

Anita Merie Miller, a St. David resident, died on Feb. 20, 2000, in Benson, at the age of 68. Anita was born June 1, 1931, in Glendale, Calif., to Stanley C. and Merie B. (Salter) Sunderland.

Anita was employed as a nurse for the majority of her life. She married John A. Miller on Dec. 5, 1955. They raised a family of six boys. Anita was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding various positions and serving in many capacities. She was always learning and seeking more education. Her love of books was unparalleled. She had an affection for Siamese cats; every one of them was called Sam.

She is survived by her husband, John A. Miller of St. David; sons, Richard (Sandra) Miller of Colorado; Roland "R.J." (Debbie) Miller of St. David; Robert (Barbara) Miller of Pomerene; Jack (Ruth) Miller of Phoenix; David (Kathy) Miller of St. David; Jon (Angie) Miller of Glendale; sister, Betty (Bill) Thomas of Safford; 23 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, at the St. David Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in St. David. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Bishop Wayne Merrill will officiate. Family members will participate and grandsons will be casket bearers and honorary casket bearers. Interment will take place at the St. David Cemetery.

Arrangements were made by San Pedro Funeral Home, of St. David.

Arthur R. Blakey

Arthur R. Blakey of Benson died on September 20, 1999.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m., today at East Lawn Palms Mortuary Chapel. Mass will be offered on Thursday, at 11:30 at St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church, (1375 S. Camino Seco).

Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery.

Melvin "Tex" Paynter

1929-1999

Melvin "Tex" Paynter, of Benson, died on Dec. 16, 1999, at his home in Benson, at the age of 70. Melvin was born on May 8,. 1929 in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Melvin was a chef in Long Island, N.Y. and a musician in Brooklyn, N.Y. for 20 years.

Melvin is survived by three sons, Butch Paynter of Benson; Gary Paynter of Tucson; and Duane Paynter of Benson; two daughters, Patricia Flores of Tucson; and Lisa Paynter of Tucson; 10 grandchildren; and one grandchildren.

A service was held on Dec. 21, 1999 at 7 p.m. at Richardson's Mortuary. Bishop Karl R. Becker, of Benson Wrad LDS Church of Benson, officiated the service. Melvin chose to be cremated and to be buried with his daughter, Cindy Rutherford, who died in 1996.

Arrangements were made by Richardson's Mortuary of Benson.

Beulah May Webb

1913-1999

Beulah May Webb, of Benson, died on Dec. 31, 1999, in Tucson, at the age of 86. Beulah was born on Oct. 3, 1913 in Polo, Ill., to Emma and Irvin Paul.

Beulah was a housewife. She had been a resident of the Benson area for 22 years. She also had two years college education. Beulah will be remembered for the kindness she showed everyone she met. She will be missed.

Beulah was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Bessie Dennis; her husband, Willard Webb and her great-granddaughter, Alisha Ann.

Beulah is survived by her son, Gary (Marian) Webb of Benson; grandchildren, Pam Idler; Julie (John) Salaz; and David Webb; great-grandchildren, Cynthia, Justin, Michael, Amanda, Ashley, Nicole, Chelsea, Jeramy, Zachary and Brandon; and many friends.

Memorial services will be held on Jan. 7, 2000 at 5 p.m. at the Dove of Peace Church in Tucson (Lutheran), 665 W. Roller Coaster Rd., Tucson. Minister Wendell Clutz will officiate the service. Interment will be in the summer in Polo, Ill.

Arrangements were made by Richardsons Mortuary of Benson.

Julia Alberta Graham

1898 - 2000

Julia Alberta Graham, of Sierra Vista, died on Jan. 29, 2000, at the Life Care Center in Sierra Vista.. She was born on Oct. 1,1898, in Junction City, Wis., to John Seavers and Helen Buelow.

Julia Graham was a resident of Pomerene for 35 years, where she was a homemaker and a member of the VFW Auxiliary. In 1994 she entered Life Care Center in Sierra Vista, AZ.

Julia Graham is survived by a son, Thomas Graham of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Beverly Itringer of Westminster, Calif. and sister, Sara Ingvoldstad of Sierra Madre, Calif.

Julia Graham was cremated with her ashes being buried at Cochise Gardens.

Arrangements were made by Richardson's Mortuary of Benson.
