William Arthur Wade

William Arthur Wade died Friday March 24, 2000 in Golden Valley. He was 57.

Mr. Wade was born on April 16, 1942, in Tulare, Calif., to Charley Alva "Blackie" Wade and Ethel Wade. He had been employed as a maintenance man for a window company.

Mr. Wade is survived by: his wife, Marie Wade of Golden Valley; one daughter, Ann Marie Epperley; four sisters; two brothers; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, and one son, Jimmy.

Private services were held. Cremation was handled by Sutton Crematory.

Lois Jean Ferris

Lois Jean Ferris died Sunday March 26, 2000 in Kingman. She was 71.

Mrs. Ferris was born May 10, 1928 in Monroe, Ohio. She worked in retail at Sprouse Rietz and worked for the Foundation for Senior Living for three years. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, Democratic Women, Esther Circle, and the United Methodist Women's Club.

Mrs. Ferris is survived by: one son, Mark Forman of Auburn, Calif.; two daughters, Chris Alvarenga of San Antonio, Texas, and Tammie Ferris of Kingman; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

No services were announced. Cremation will be handled by Sutton Crematory.

Glenn F. Holm

Glenn F. Holm, a Golden Valley resident, died Saturday March 25, 2000 in Kingman. He was 67. Mr. Holm was born Feb. 27, 1933 in St. Paul, Minn.

He worked for Red Owl for three years and then Gaffaney's, an office equipment company in Fargo, N.D., for 33 years until his retirement in 1988. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Holm was a member of the American Legion, was involved with the Fargo Police Auxiliary Force and an active member of the Bonazaville USA Police Museum. He was co-owner of the Timber Shores Resort in McGregor, Minn., and a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Mission Church.

Mr. Holm is survived by: his wife, Patricia (Manley) Holm; three sons, Terry Holm of Grandian, N.D., Kelly Holm of Coon Rapids, Minn., and Bryan Anderson of Grandview, Texas; three daughters, Sandy Holm of Minneapolis, Minn., Kathy Johnson of Ham Lake, Minn., and LoAnn Dybevik of Lakenheath A.F.B., England; brother Dick Holm of Golden Valley, Minn.; sister Lucile Popp of Vadnais Heights, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Funeral services, officiated by Father Ray Schultz, will be held at 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. Cremation will be handled by Sutton Crematory.

Glenn F. Holm

Glenn F. Holm, a Golden Valley resident, died Saturday, March 25, 2000 in Kingman. He was 67. Mr. Holm was born Feb. 27, 1933 in St. Paul, Minn.

Eleanor M. Schossow

Eleanor M. Schossow died Friday March 24, 2000, in Kingman. She was 86.

Mrs. Schossow was born Jan. 13, 1914, in Enderlin, N.D., and was a homemaker and Avon representative in the Kingman area.

Mrs. Schossow is survived by: two daughters, Glorie Vanderplaats of Kingman, and Sharon Buchholz of Tacna, Ariz.; two sons, Maynard Schossow of Pelican Rapids, Minn.; and Gerald Schossow of Roanoke, Va.; four sisters; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Harold Schossow, in 1990.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday March 27, 2000, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Cutlipp will officiate. Cremation will be handled by Sutton Crematory.

Lorrie Linn Hepburn

Lorrie Linn Hepburn of Golden Valley died Wednesday March 22, 2000, in Henderson, Nev. She was 37.

Mrs. Hepburn was born June 12, 1962, in Riverside, Calif. She had worked as a teacher's assistant and at Bashas' market.

Mrs. Hepburn is survived by: Her husband, Tom Hepburn of Golden Valley; two daughters, Crystallynn Hepburn, and Shawna Hepburn, both of Golden Valley; her father, Ronald McMillon, and her mother, Maggie McMillon, both of Golden Valley; her grandfather, Leon McMillon of Corona, Calif.; two brothers, Ricky and Randy McMillon, both of Golden Valley; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday March 30, 2000, at Golden Valley Baptist Church, 100 S. Higley Road. Pastor Mark Crotinger will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Kingman.

Mahala May Dollarhide

Mahala May Dollarhide died Tuesday, March 21, 2000 in Wickieup. she was 57.

Mrs. Dollarhide was born on May 14, 1942 in Globe. She moved to Wickieup from Globe as an infant. She was a housewife and a rancher.

Mrs. Dollarhide is survived by: husband Tommy E. Dollarhide; sons Eddie and Steve Dollarhide; father James R. Medlin; three sisters, Celia Morton, Cathy Davis and Patricia Davis; three brothers, Glenn Medlin, Jim Medlin and Steve Medlin; and five grandchildren.

Viewing and funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 610 Eastern. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery.

Roy W. Vallas

Roy W. Vallas, a Kingman resident, died Sunday, March 19, 2000 in Phoenix. He was 46.

Mr. Vallas was born Sept. 19, 1953 in Oak Park, Ill. He was self-employed as a courier.

Mr. Vallas is survived by: his wife, Valerie (Goetz) Vallas of Kingman; daughter Nicole Vallas of Kingman; son Dale Roy Vallas of Kingman; sister Lynn Pieniaczak of St. Lucie, Fla.; brother Ronald Vallas of Stuart, Fla.; and five nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2000 at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. John Jaster, will follow at 4 p.m. at the same location. Cremation will be handled by Sutton Crematory.

Ralph G. Atherton

Former Kingman resident Ralph George Atherton of Pocatello, Idaho, died Saturday March 18, 2000. He was 58.

Mr. Atherton was born Aug. 9, 1941, in Los Angeles, and had been employed at Lockheed Martin. He purchased the family business - a van and storage company - in 1969, which he operated until 1981. He then purchased an insulation company which he operated for a few years. He came to Pocatello from Kingman in 1998. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and prospecting and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Atherton is survived by: his wife, Pam J. Atherton of Pocatello; one son, Darin Atherton of Pocatello; one sister, Sandra Mueller of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; and one sister, Joanne.

Private family services will be held at a later date at the Frist Presbyterian Church of Pocatello, located at 202 S. Seventh St.

Wilbur M. Baker

Wilbur M. Baker, a Kingman resident, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000 in Phoenix. He was 78.

Mr. Baker was born June 12, 1921 in Columbus, Ind. He moved to Kingman from San Diego 16 years ago. He was a Volvo master mechanic. Mr. Baker served in the U.S. Marines in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a member of VFW Post No. 3516.

Mr. Baker is survived by: two daughters, Michelle Birkholz of Covina, Calif.; and Dorothy Gottberg of Sacramento, Calif.; and four granddaughters.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 20900, at VFW Post No. 3516, 2826 Wickieup, with Commander Bob Scola officiating.

Agatha Leoma Munson

Agatha Leoma Munson died Monday March 13, 2000, in Kingman. She was 84.

Mrs. Munson was born June 9, 19015, in Ranger, Texas, and was a homemaker.

She is survived by: two sons, Mack Hayden Jr. of Kingman, and Bobby Hayden of Denver, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; and 27-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: one daughter, Eula Lee Eminger, in 1978.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday March 17, 2000 at Desert View Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. also on Friday, at Desert View. The Rev. Paul Daniel will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Viola Trudy Johansen

Viola Trudy Johansen died Sunday March 12, 2000 in Kingman. She was 89.

Mrs. Johansen was born on Oct. 27, 1910 in Hartzell, Ala. She moved to Oklahoma at the age of three months and came to Kingman in 1973. She was a member of the College Park Baptist Church and a member of the VFW and the Eagles.

Mrs. Johansen is survived by: one son, Dale Powell of Kingman; and by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: three children, Leroy, John Wayne and Frances; and her husband, Walt Johansen.

Visitation will be held at noon on Thursday March 16, 2000, followed by services at 2 p.m., at College Park Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery following the service.

Pauline M. Meister

Pauline M. Meister died Sunday March 12, 2000 in Kingman. She was 91. Mrs. Meister was born on Sept. 17, 1908 in Lincoln, Ill. A homemaker, she moved to Kingman from New Mexico. She worked at the Mohave County Historical Society.

Mrs. Meister is survived by: three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Harold Meister and one son, Jay Meister.

No services are planned. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Claude Russell Manship

Claude Russell Manship, a Kingman native, died Friday, March 10, 2000, in Kingman. He was 88.

Mr. Manship was born in Kingman on Feb. 28, 1912. He lived here for all of his 88 years. He attended the Little Red Schoolhouse and graduated from Kingman High School in 1932. In 1938, he married Gladys Williams, a local teacher. He operated the Manship family business, the Kingman Chocolate Shoppe, on Fourth Street. In addition, he was known as a jack of all trades, working at the post office, in TV and radio repair, as an electrician, he worked for Douglas Aircraft, he helped build the Army Airfield in Kingman and later dismantled it for the Army Corps of Engineers, he worked for Utah Construction on building the Davis Dam and for years worked at Central Commercial and Western Auto. He was a lay minister at the Kingman Gospel Chapel (Brethren Assembly). He played on a local baseball team with George Grantham, who later brought a professional team to play an exhibition game in 1924 in Kingman.

Mr. Manship is survived by: a son, David R. Manship of Groveland, Calif.; one brother, Kenneth Manship of San Bernardino, Calif.; one grandson; and one niece. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Gladys O. Manship; an infant daughter, Mary; a brother, Robert; and his parents, Robert L. and Grace Manship.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday March 14, 2000, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services, with Rev. Paul Daniel officiating, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday March 15, 2000, at First Southern Baptist Church, 3120 Hualapai Mountain Road. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mohave County Historical Society, 400 W. Beale St., Kingman, or to the First Southern Baptist Church, 3120 Hualapai Mountain Road, Kingman.

Beverly Jean Hobbes

Beverly Jean Hobbes died Friday March 10, 2000, in Phoenix. She was 68.

Mrs. Hobbes was born Nov. 4, 1931, in Long Beach, Calif. She was a former secretary in a New Mexico law office and was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Kingman. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star in Cimarron, N.M.

Mrs. Hobbes is survived by: two sons, John Clayton Bernardi of Prescott Valley and Frank William Bernardi of Creswell, Okla.; one daughter, Felicia Verlene Scott of Stillwater, Okla.; one sister, Jacqueline Ruth Dollarhide of Plano, Texas; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday March 12, 2000 at St. Johns United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, also at St, Johns with the Rev. Robert Cutlipp officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif.

Mary Ruth Penrod

Mary Ruth Penrod died Monday March 6, 2000, in Kingman. She was 72.

Mrs. Penrod was born March 20, 1927, in Lapwai, Idaho. She came to Kingman in 1949 and had been a food service worker at Kingman Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Penrod is survived by: her husband, Clyde Delbert Penrod; her parents, George and Juanita Irene Pavey; one daughter, Julie Dann of Kingman; one son, Thomas Penrod of Joseph City; two sisters, Georgia (Mikki) Alexander, and Jean Schuster; two brothers, Mike and Ken Pavey; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: three sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday March 12, 2000, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at noon, also on Saturday, at Mountain View Cemetery.

Ruben D. Flores

Ruben D. Flores died Wednesday March 8, 2000, in Kingman. He was 82.

Mr. Flores was born March 14, 1917, in Hurley, N.M., and had been employed as a construction laborer. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Kingman and a veteran of World War II.

Mr. Flores is survived by: his wife, Carlotta Flores; two daughters, Gloria A. Barber of Kingman, and Yolanda Estrada of Woodland Hills, Calif.; three sons, Ruben Flores and Robert D. Flores, both of Kingman, and Richard D. Flores of Stockton, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Pedro and Felicitas Flores; and three sisters, Fernanda, Vera and Vicenta Garcia; and two brothers, Julio and Ramon Flores.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday March 11, 2000, at First Southern Baptist Church. The Rev. Paul Daniel will officiate. Cremation was handled by Sutton Crematory.

The family suggests memorial donations to Kingman Cancer Care, P.O. Box 560, Kingman 86402.

Martha Jane King

Martha Jane King, a former Kingman resident, died Sunday, March 5, 2000 in Gilbert. She was 72.

Mrs. King was born on March 16, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio. She worked as a secretary for a sign company and was an Avon lady in Kingman for 10 years. She was a member of Most Holy Trinity Church in Phoenix. Mrs. King was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Kingman, a former member of the Eagles Lodge in Phoenix and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kingman.

Mrs. King is survived by: two daughters, Carla Kennedy of Phoenix and Jane Pike of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Michael King and Richard King, both of Kingman; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one cousin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl D. King; and parents Harley and Bertha Miller.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with Rosary at 6 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, March 9, 2000. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2000 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father James Alling officiating. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.

Philip Alfred Crosiar

Philip Alfred Crosiar died Saturday, March 4, 2000 in Eugene, Ore. He was 69.

Mr. Crosiar was born Nov. 15, 1930 in Newberg, Ore., to Ruthford D. and Mary Ethel Bingman Crosiar. He lived in Lane County, Ore., near Florence, in Junction City and in the Eugene-Springfield area, since 1942.

Mr. Crosiar is survived by: two sisters, Luella F. Pulse, of Cottage Grove, Ore., and Elsie R. Willis of Dolan Springs; two brothers, R. Roland of Sublimity, Ore., and Carl J. of Harrisburg, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by brother D. Edward.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Rest Lawn Memorial Park west of Junction City, Ore.
