Marjorie V. Walker
May 08, 1921 - March 31, 2002

Marjorie V. Walker, 80, of Camp Verde died March 31. She was born May 8, 1921 in Manchester, England.
Much beloved mum of Anne, son-in-law Mike, sorrowful granddaughters, Lisa, Heather, Amy and Wendy and great-grandson, Noah.
Thank you for your gentle kindness and your loving spirit, oh how you enriched our lives by just being in it. You kept us going in the greatest of ways and on Easter Sunday you could not stay. God took you home on a wing and a prayer. God speed Mum, until we meet you there,God bless Nanny.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Thursday, April 4 in St. Frances Cabrini Church.
Westcott Funeral Home handled these arrangements for the family.

Robert Scott Felder
June 06, 1968 - April 02, 2002

Robert Scott Felder, 33, of Cottonwood and League City, Texas, died April 3.
Robert came to this area six months ago. He worked as a rigger in telecommunications.
He was a member of the Foursquare Church.
He leaves two daughters Christine and Courtney, both of Bacliff, Texas; his mother, Patricia Lancon of League City, Texas; a sister, Susan Weeks of League City, Texas; and a cousin, Rick Felder also of Leage City, Texas.
Services will be held in Texas. Westcott Funeral Home handled local arrangements.

Dorothy J. Gallagher
May 14, 1916 - April 03, 2002

Dorothy J. Gallagher, 84, of Cottonwood died April 3rd.
She had worked in retail sales.
She leaves a daughter, Rose Gallagher of Tempe and a son, James A. Gallagher of Cottonwood.
No public services are planned.

Betty J. Larson
May 08, 1922 - April 08, 2002

Betty Jane Larson, 79, of Cottonwood, formerly of Williams,died April 8. She was born May 8, 1922 in Halstead, Kansas.
She was a retired medical secretary who worked for many years for Dr. John Calley and at Smith's Corner Drugstore in Williams. She had lived in Williams for over 50 years.
Mrs. Larson was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as chairwoman of the March of Dimes. She also had the honor of serving as First Lady of Williams for 16 years while her husband Ray Larson served as Mayor. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Richard L. Larson of Carnation, Washington and Paul R. Larson of Portland, Oregon; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild and two great-grandchildren are soon expected.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 15 in the United Methodist Church of Williams at 11 AM.
Westcott Funeral Home of Cottonwood assisted the family with these arrangements.

Beatrice G. Wheelock
October 10, 1923 - April 07, 2002

Beatrice Grace Wheelock, 79, of Cottonwood died April 7. She was born October 10, 1923 in Grandville, Michigan.
Mrs. Wheelock leaves two daughters, Donna Parker and Patti Cluff; three sons, Douglas Wheelock, Dennis Wheelock and Danny Wheelock; three sisters, Ruth Birsa, Betty Wolf and Peggy Kopp; one brother, Ken Zarbeck; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 10 at the Westcott Funeral Home from 4-7 PM.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 11 in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Cave Creek (Phoenix) at 1:30 PM.
Westcott Funeral Home was entrusted with these arrangements.

Ralph M. Jordan
October 10, 1919 - April 04, 2002

Ralph M. Jordan, 82, of Cottonwood died April 4th. He was born in Burks Burnette, Texas on October 10, 1919.
Mr. Jordan was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired surveyor. He worked for the Arizona State Highway Department for 23 years.
Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife, Naomi; daughter and son in law: Deanna K. and Scott Lott of Tallulah, Louisiana; a son: Ralph M. Jordan, Jr. of Phoenix; a sister, Lorene Jordan of Oklahoma; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn Jordan.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, April 7th at the First Southern Baptist Church, 5th and Hollamon in Camp Verde at 2:00 PM.
Donations in his memory may be made to the church.

Michael A. Starr
October 12, 1945 - April 05, 2002

Michael Arthur Starr, 55, of Cottonwood died April 5th. He was born October 12, 1945 in Fresno, California.
Mr. Starr worked in the construction trade.
He leaves his mother, Alma Dean Starr of Cottonwood; a sister, Deborah Piper of Cottonwood; two brothers, Chris Starr of Camp Verde and Jeff Starr of Coolidge. He was preceded in death by his father, Art Myrle Starr.

Henry J. Aleksiewicz
June 13, 1924 - April 01, 2002

Henry J. Aleksiewicz of Clarkdale. fomerly of Brattleboro, VT., and Turners Falls, Massachusetts died April 1, 2002.
Born in Northfield, Massachusetts on June 13, 1924, the son of Francek and Regina Aleksiewicz. Mr. Aleksiewicz attended St. Michael's High School in Brattleboro, Vermont. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Walter Wann from 1943-1946.
Mr. Aleksiewicz was by trade a greenskeeper. He worked at various times at the Brattleboro Country Club, the Spofford Country Club and most recently at the Thomas Memorial Country Club in Turners Falls, Massachusetts. He held a certificate in agronomy from University of Massachusetts, Stockbridge of Agriculture. He moved to Cottonwood in 1981 and was employed there by the US Forest Services until his retirement. In Massachsuetts Mr. Aleksiewicz was a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks and the St. Kazimier's Club.
He leaves his loving wife, the former Joanne R. LaPerle of Randolph, Vermont to whom he was married on August 26, 1950; three sons, Gary Aleksiewicz of Alachua, Florida, Mark Aleksiewicz of Tuners Falls, Massachusetts and Matthew Aleksiewicz of Cottonwood; four daughters, Linda Grout of Brattleboro, Vermont, Christine Wilhelm of Lakewood, Ohio, Mary-Ellen De Tar of Camp Verde and Melissa Prestinario of San Jose, California; and thirteen grandchildren.
His twin brothers, Joseph and Theodore Aleksiewicz and his sisters, Edna Aleksiewicz and Joanna Regan predeceased him.
During his life, Mr. Aleksiewicz shared his love of the land with his children, especially his sons. An avid golfer, he loved nothing more than to be outside on a course, whether he was working or playing. He especially loved being surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
A funeral Mass on Friday, April 26, 2002 at Sts. Rogatian and Donatian Catholic Church in Randolph, Vermont at 10 AM. Inurnment of ashes will take place in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center immediately following the Mass.
Donations in Mr. Aleksiewicz's memory may be made to the Children's Hospital Dartmouth (CHAD), c/o Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Ceneter, 1 Hospital Drive, W. Lebanon, NH.

Frederick W. Kohl
April 13, 2002 - April 13, 2002

Frederick W. Kohl, of Cottonwood died April 12. He was the husband of the late Rose Kohl.

Eunice L. East
June 23, 1918 - May 25, 2002

Eunice L. East, 83, of Cottonwood died May 24th. She was born June 23, 1918 in Milaca, Minnesota.
Mrs. East was veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. She was a dedicated teacher for over 30 years.
She leaves a daughter, Karen Atkinson and a son, Randall East, both of Cottonwood. She was preceded in death by one brother and six sisters.
Her husband of 56 years, Herman W. East, died in March.
A memorial service to celebrate the lives of both Herman and Eunice East will be held on Saturday, June 1 in the One in Christ Church (former Verde Valley Evangelical Free Church) in Cottonwood at 10 AM.
VFW 7400 will provide military honors for Mr.and Mrs. East.
Donations in her memory may be made to the One in Christ Church, 2080 S. Highway 260, Cottonwood 86326.

C.L. William Heacock
May 16, 1916 - May 26, 2002

William ''Bill'' Heacock, 86, a resident of Sedona, passed away at 4:00 AM on Sunday, May 26.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his children, Peter, David and Barbara; his grandchildren, Justin, Jodi, Wendy, Jonathan and Amanda. After a long career at Pratt & Whitney, Bill spent the last 24 years living in Sedona. He will be missed by all who knew him. There will be no memorial service.

Gail D. Patrick
July 13, 1947 - May 20, 2002

Gail D. Patrick, 54, of Cottonwood died May 20. She was born July 13, 1947 in Los Angeles, California.
Mrs. Patrick was a former employee of the Verde Valley Medical Center.
She leaves her mother, Virginia D. Ward of Cottonwood; a daughter, Michelle M. Wood of Cottonwood; her grandfather, Charles W. Thompson of Cottonwood; and two grandchildren.
No public services are planned.
