Theodora E. Lawton

A funeral for Theodora E. Lawton, 79, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Monday in Payne Chapel AME Church, West Palm Beach, Fla.

Pastor Jackson will officiate.

Burial will be in Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, West Palm Beach.

Mrs. Lawton died Dec. 14, 1999, in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born Sept. 6, 1920, in West Palm Beach, she resided in Fairfield for six years.

She received her bachelor's degree in English from Florida A&M University.

She worked as the educational director of Head Start in Palm Beach County for 34 years.

She was a member of the Payne Chapel AME Church in West Palm Beach.

Mrs. Lawton enjoyed traveling, crafts, teaching crafts to elementary school children and tutoring children.

Mrs. Lawton is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Eunice and Kalvin Weatherington of West Palm Beach; sons and daughter-in-laws, Theodore and Gwendolyn of Fairfield and James and Renee of West Palm Beach; son, Dr. Orville of West Palm Beach; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carrie and James Price of Riviera Beach, Fla., and Bobbye and Othniel Jenkins of Fort White, Fla.; sisters, Claudette Carey of West Palm Beach, Alzalee Colbert of Atlanta, Ga., and Alyce Colbert of Vacaville; brother and sister-in-law, Lutrell and Marilyn Colbert of Tampa, Fla.; special friend, Claudia Hammond of West Palm Beach; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Arrangements were by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Mary V. Parker

A funeral for Mary V. Parker, 87, of Dixon will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Pastor Catherine Morris of Dixon Methodist Church will preside.

Burial will follow in Silveyville Cemetery.

Mrs. Parker died Dec. 14, 1999, in Davis after a short illness.

Born Sept. 3, 1912, in Brodrick, she moved to Dixon 34 years ago.

She worked as a bookkeeper and ran ranch farms for many years.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Parker is survived by her daughter, Ellenann Doyle of Dixon; grandson, Mike Doyle Jr. of Dixon; granddaughter, Suzanne Wright of Dixon; great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Michael Doyle of Dixon, Miranda and Juliann McNeil of Dixon and Rebeka Birdsong of Dixon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellwood; son, Richard E.; and grandson, Steven Aday.

Gary T. Tonnesen

A funeral for Gary T. Tonnesen, 64, of Suisun will be 2 p.m. Friday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

The Rev. Stanley Cornils will officiate.

Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Tonnesen died Dec. 13, 1999, at NorthBay Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born Sept. 29, 1935, in Fairfield, he was a lifelong resident of Suisun.

He was a graduate of Armijo High School, class of 1953.

He worked for the city of Fairfield Water Department after graduating from high school.

He served as Solano County deputy sheriff for 22 years, retiring in 1979.

He worked in patrol, as a bailiff and as a transportation officer.

He owned and operated Thiessen's Pet Store in Fairfield for 30 years.

He was a member of California Water Fowl Association, Suisun Chapter, Ducks Unlimited, Suisun Marsh Chapter, Native Sons of the Golden West, Parlor No. 39, and was a past board member of the Suisun Resource Conservation District.

Mr. Tonnesen was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a reknowned duck caller with both a call and by voice.

Mr. Tonnesen is survived by his wife, Lois of Suisun; daughter, Kim of Suisun; daughter and son-in-law, Marge and Nick Ramirez of San Diego; son, Greg of Suisun; brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Lenny of Fairfield; and grandchildren, David of Suisun and Angelo Ramirez of San Diego.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to California Waterfowl Association, 4630 Northgate Blvd., Sacramento, 95834.

Thomas Keogh

A celebration of life service for Thomas Keogh, 50, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. on Jan. 8 at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home. A Naval honor guard and the Boy Scouts of America will be part of the service.

The Rev. Ralph Burch will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Born Sept. 19, 1949, in Nashville, Tenn., Mr. Keogh died Dec. 9, 1999, at John Muir Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Keogh attended Tennessee State University where he was on the dean's list.

He also attended Solano Community College where he received his degree in ornamental horticulture.

He was employed for eight years as a teacher for mentally handicapped adults in Vallejo.

He worked for the Vacaville Unified School District in landscape maintenance, a job in which he felt he was a part of children's educations.

He also worked for Wayne & Lornell Scott and Azure Garden's Bee Keepers.

He loved working with Boy Scouts of America and was an Eagle Scout.

Mr. Keogh served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of Narcotics Anonymous.

Mr. Keogh is survived by his wife, Mary Katherine of Fairfield; sons, Elijah Burton of Fairfield, Jeven Haigler of Vacaville and Michael of Nashville, Tenn.; daughters, Amanda Kidman of Fairfield and Melissa of Vacaville; mother, Gladys of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Charles of Nashville, Tenn.; sisters, Patricia Word and Karen Christman of Nashville, Tenn.; granddaughter, Victoria Hope Kidman of Fairfield; and close friends, Wayne and Lornell Scott of Vallejo.

Ruby E. Kidwell

A funeral for Ruby E. Kidwell, 88, of Dixon will be 10 a.m. Monday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Catherine Morris will officiate.

Interment will be at Silveyville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kidwell died on Dec. 15, 1999, after a long illness.

Born on Jan. 29, 1911, in Baxter, Tenn., she moved to Bakersfield when she was 18 to live with her brother and his wife.

She then moved with her husband, Homer, to Dixon in 1954 to help her husband's uncle with a family ranching business.

She was a homemaker and a charter member of the Dixon Senior Citizens Club, Eastern Star Caledonia chapter, and Wednesday Evening Circle.

She was active in volunteer and service activities in the Dixon community.

She served as past president and board member of the Dixon Senior Citizens Club and was instrumental in bringing services such as the Meals on Wheels, Dixon Redi-Ride and Lighthouse for the Blind.

She worked closely with Dixon city officials to obtain a permanent location for the Dixon Senior Citizens Club, which resulted in the construction of the Dixon Senior/Multi-Use Center.

Mrs. Kidwell is survived by her son, Denny E. of Dixon; daughter, Barbara J. Martinez of El Macero; grandchildren, Leslye J. Hays-Lopez of Dixon, William Bradley Hays of Sacramento, Stewart E. Hays of Sacramento; and great-grandchildren, Veronica Gomez and Alexandra Lopez, both of Dixon.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 19, 1982.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95620 or Dixon Senior Citizens, 201 S. Fifth St., Dixon, 95620.

Herbert P. Nelson

A funeral for Herbert P. Nelson, 77, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church in Fairfield.

Pastor Robert Clay will officiate.

Burial will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Fairfield Funeral Home.

Mr. Nelson died Dec. 15, 1999, at his home in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born Feb. 3, 1922, in Omaha, Neb., he worked for the San Francisco Municipal Railway for 35 years.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of the Bay Area Electric Railway Association.

He loved to play softball and, for the past 11 years, played for the Suisun and Fairfield softball leagues and was a member of the Fairfield First Assembly of God Church.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, Mildred of Fairfield; sons, Donald of San Anselmo and David of Bel Air, Md.; sisters, Jeanette Stiles of Fairfield and Ruth of Fairfield; and grandchildren, Jay, Jessie, and Jamie of San Anselmo, and Francesca of Bel Air.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Harold Edward Regalia

No formal services will be held for Harold Edward Regalia, 79, of Green Valley.

Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Regalia died on Dec. 17, 1999, at Sunbridge Care Center after a long illness.

Born on Sept. 12, 1920, in Richmond, he moved to Solano County in 1974 after having lived in the Napa Valley.

He worked in construction and as a heavy equipment operator and worked for Gateway Chevrolet as a mechanic, retiring in 1977.

He also was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Regalia is survived by his son, Greg of Suisun; sisters, Frances and Geraldine of Southern California; brother, Emil of Grass Valley; grandchildren, Greg and Lisa of Suisun, Celina, Kathy and Johnny Moreno of Bremerton, Wash., and Angela Espinosa.

He also had three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia, earlier this year.

Wilbur R. Abbott

Graveside services for Wilbur R. Abbott, 75, of Suisun will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

The Rev. John Duncan will officiate.

Mr. Abbott died on Dec. 16, 1999, at his home after a short illness.

Born on Sept. 9, 1924, in Quality, Ky., he lived in Suisun for the past eight years, having lived in Pasadena 47 years before then.

He served in the U.S. Army from March 1943 to March 1945.

Prior to entering the Army he worked in the coal mines in Nortonville, Ky.

He later served a carpentry apprenticeship and worked as a cabinetmaker for 18 years at Sierra Furniture.

He retired in 1989, having worked as a cabinetmaker and in maintenance for Vector Electronics of Sylmar.

He enjoyed wood crafts and horse racing.

Mr. Abbott is survived by his wife, Arline of Suisun; son, Nathan of Monrovia; daughter, Narrada Hughes of Mountain Home, Idaho; sisters, Kester Arnold of Evansville, Ind., Flora Harvey of White Planes, Ky., Nancy Daugherty of Henderson, Ky., Mildred Perkins of Dawson Springs, Ky., and Bonnie Williams of Evansville, Ind.; and brothers, Parlon of St. Charles, Ky., Edward of Nortonville, Ky., Henry of Dawson Springs, Ky., and Norman of Eddyville, Ky.

He also had three grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1652 West Texas St., Suite 110, Fairfield, 94533.

Frances Edith Ambrose

Funeral services for Frances Edith Ambrose, 93, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Pastor Bob Lewis will officiate. Burial will be private at Rockville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ambrose died on Dec. 17, 1999, at her home in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born on May 10, 1906, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, she lived in Fairfield for the past 53 years after having lived in Cordelia for 14 years before then.

She was a homemaker for 59 years.

She was a member of the Fairfield Senior Center and American Legion Auxiliary in Suisun.

She loved reading, bingo and crocheting.

Mrs. Ambrose is survived by her daughter, Arlene Le-Schack of Puyallup, Wash.; and sons and daughters-in-law, George and Peggy of Fairfield and John and Laura of Jackson. She also had eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, Redwood Empire Chapter, P.O. 844, Santa Rosa, 95402.

Harold Edward Regalia

At his request, no formal services will be held for Harold Edward Regalia, 79, of Green Valley.

Inurnment will be private.

Born Sept. 12, 1920, in Richmond, Mr. Regalia died Dec. 17, 1999, at Sunbridge Care Center.

A resident of Napa Valley until moving to Solano County in 1974, Mr. Regalia worked in construction and also as a heavy equipment operator.

He also worked for Gateway Chevrolet as a mechanic before retiring in 1977.

He served in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Regalia is survived by his son, Greg Regalia of Suisun; sisters, Frances and Geraldine Regalia of Southern California; brother, Emil Regalia of Green Valley; grandchildren, Greg and Lisa Regalia of Suisun, Celine, Kathy and Johnny Moreno of Bremington, Wash., and Angela Espinosa; three great-grandchildren; and longtime companion, Beatrice White of Suisun.

He was preceded in death in 1999 by his daughter, Cynthia Regalia.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.
