Peter Chris Flesuras

A Catholic Prayer Service for Peter Chris Flesuras, 66, of South Lake Tahoe, will be noon today at Lima Family Mortuary-Ceder Lawn Cemetery in Fremont. Interment will follow. Private visitation will be in Nadeau Family Funeral Home in Vacaville.

Mr. Flesuras died on Jan. 8, 2000, at his home in South Lake Tahoe.

Born on Feb. 19, 1933, he lived in South Lake Tahoe for the past 25 years after having lived in Vacaville for seven years. He worked at Harvey's Resort and Casino in South Lake Tahoe for the past 25 years. While living in Vacaville, he worked at Safeway Stores. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and had been in the U.S. Army during the early 1950s. He was also an avid golfer.

Mr. Flesuras is survived by his daughters, Tracy Renaud of Vacaville and Donna Robinson of Reno; son, Anthony of Arcata; brothers, Tom of Redding and Gus of California; sister, Bea Ranson of Fort Collins, Colo.; and former wife, Pat of Vacaville. He also had two grandchildren.

Dagmar Nielsen Bailey Francis

Services have been held for Dagmar Nielsen Bailey Francis, 95, of Rio Vista. Inurnment was private.

Mrs. Francis died on Jan. 6, 2000, at the Delta Convalescent Hospital in Lodi.

Born on Feb. 25, 1904, on the Nielsen Ranch in Montezuma Hills, she attended Tolens Grammar School near the Holgar Anderson Ranch and graduated from Rio Vista High School in 1922. She was a 75-year member of the Rio Vista chapter of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Francis is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jackson and Mary Jane Bailey of Placerville; sisters, Lena Emigh of Rio Vista and Ethel Fox of San Mateo; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Bailey; second husband, Henry; and sister, Metha Jenkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, 95817, or to the Congregational Church, 230 Sacramento St., Rio Vista, 94571.

John A. Reynolds

Funeral services for John A. Reynolds, 80, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Skyview Funeral Chapel in Vallejo. The Rev. Ken Doan will officiate.

Burial will be at Skyview Memorial Lawn in Vallejo. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the chapel.

Mr. Reynolds died on Jan. 12, 2000, at Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

Born on June 3, 1919, in Greenbrier, Ark., he lived in Vacaville for the past two years after having lived in Vallejo for 22 years. Before that he lived in Rancho Tehama for 20 years.

Mr. Reynolds was self-employed as a building contractor for 25 years before retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Orchard Avenue Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 87 F&AM, Carpenters Local No. 180 for 37 years and B.P.O.E. No. 559.

Mr. Reynolds is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beulah G. of Vacaville; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dewey Jones of Vallejo; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Shirley and Larry and Cecile, all of Vacaville; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Leon David Cox

A funeral for Leon David Cox, 54, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in McCune Garden Chapel.

Pastor Rick Stonestreet will preside. Burial will follow in Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward.

Mr. Cox died Jan. 12, 2000, in Vacaville after an illness.

Born April 10, 1945, in San Leandro, he lived in Vacaville for the past 22 years. He was self-employed for nine years and ran a landscaping business. After that he worked for 22 years for the Lucky warehouse in both San Leandro and Vacaville.

Mr. Cox enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a Vacaville Bobby Sox coach.

Mr. Cox is survived by his wife, Karen of Vacaville, children, Leon D. II of Nevada, David D. of Redding, Laurra Cole of Vacaville and Wendy Stover of Travis; six grandchildren; and brother, R.C. of Oklahoma.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in McCune Garden Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kaiser Hospice, 975 Sereno Drive, Vallejo, 94589.

John A. Reynolds

Margaret Ethel Knudsen

Memorial services for Margaret Ethel Knudsen, 69, of Vacaville, will be 4:30 p.m. today at Vaca Valley Christian Life Center. Pastor David Crone will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Knudsen died on Jan. 14, 2000, in VacaValley Hospital after a long illness.

Born on Nov. 20, 1930, in Blair, Neb., she moved to the area 13 years ago. She was a homemaker for 12 years.

Mrs. Knudsen is survived by her daughter, Denise of San Francisco; daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and William Willis of Yorba Linda, and Sandy and Fred Berger of Chino Hills; son, Brent of Vacaville; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Stephanie Ladd of Vacaville, and Brian and Patti of Anaheim; sister, Evelyn Marchian of Rialto; brothers, Ray Ladd of Buena Park, Pete Ladd of Whittier and Jimmy Ladd of Norwalk; and 14 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association.

Arrangements are being handled by Vaca Hills Chapel.

Jose F. Lopez

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jose F. Lopez, 72, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vacaville.

Burial will be at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Vaca Hills Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.

Mr. Lopez died on Jan. 14, 2000, at his home in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born on Nov. 7, 1927, in Bakersfield, he moved to the area 34 years ago. He worked for American Home Foods for 35 years. He was a member of the Vacaville Moose Lodge and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mr. Lopez is survived by his wife, Delores of Vacaville; daughters and sons-in-law, Lucy and Steve Eichmann and Diane and Cony Glaeser, all of Vacaville; sons and daughters-in-law, John Michael and Julie of Vacaville and Daniel and Michelle of Benicia; sons, Anthony and Joseph, both of Vacaville; sisters, Natalia and Rita, both of Mexico; brothers, Robert and Augustine, both of Mexico; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Arthur in 1995.

John Walter Lown

A funeral for John Walter Lown, 85, of Suisun will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Fairmont Memorial Park Chapel.

The Rev. W.A. Burkey will officiate. Entombment will be in Fairmont Memorial Park.

Mr. Lown died Jan. 12, 2000, in Fairfield after a brief illness.

Born March 20, 1914, in Kingston, N.Y., he lived in Suisun for 29 years. He worked as a painter-contractor in Southern and Northern California for more than 40 years. He was a member of Local No. 376 Painters Union and a former member of Elks Lodge in Southern California. He was a member of First Baptist Church in New York.

Mr. Lown enjoyed yard work, especially gardening, and all aspects of painting.

Mr. Lown is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth of Suisun; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Janice of Fairfield; grandchildren, Kristi Rice of Daytona, Fla., Michele of Wilton and Russell of Petaluma; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to NorthBay Hospice, 1300 Oliver Road, Suite 210, Fairfield, 94533.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Mary Tortosa

A funeral for Mary Tortosa, 77, of Winters will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Pioneer Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at the Winters Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Tortosa died on Jan. 13, 2000, at her son's home in Yuba City.

Born on Sept. 23, 1922, she grew up in Winters and attended Winters High School. She was a member and deacon of Pioneer Presbyterian Church, member and past worthy matron of the Eastern Start Esparto-Grafton Lodge No. 218 in Esparto, Soroptomist of Winters, Yolo County Realtors Association and the Solano County Realtors Association.

She was also a past board member of the Yolo Hospice. She owned and operated ABC Tortosa Real Estate in Winters for more than 20 years. She enjoyed trips to the mountains, but most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren.

Mrs. Tortosa is survived by her children, Dr. Richard of Yuba City and Carol Tortosa-Acosta of Davis; and grandchildren, Anna, Ellie, Gina and Nina Tortosa, all of Yuba City, and Adam and Audrey Acosta of Davis. She also had a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Manuel, in October 1992; sister, Antoinette Felix; and brothers, Frank Rodriguez and Joseph Rodgers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the Yolo Hospice.

Arrangements are being handled by Davis Funeral Chapel Inc.

Renee Elaine Deschaine

Funeral services for Renee Elaine Deschaine, 56, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the family's home. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Deschaine died on Jan. 15, 2000, at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Vallejo.

Born on Sept. 28, 1943, in Oakland, she lived in Fairfield for the past 20 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Deschaine is survived by her husband of 37 years, Richard of Fairfield; daughters, Pamela Wallis and Teresa, both of Fairfield; son, Brian of Suisun; sisters, Penny Tollakson of Concord and Barbara Nordine of Clearlake; and brother, Michael Stevenson of San Jose. She also had three grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Mildred Schletter

Private family services will be held for Mildred Schletter, 90, of Vacaville.

Private burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born Dec. 10, 1909, in New York City, she died Jan. 16, 2000, in Vacaville.

She lived in Vacaville for 11 years.

Mrs. Schletter is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Laurel and Stephen Young of Vacaville; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Heloise Lochman of Ashland, Ore.; grandson, Sean Lochman of Ashland; granddaughter, Erin Lochman of Rohnert Park and great-grandson, David Lochman of Rohnert Park.

McCune Garden Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
