Robert J. Tucker

A funeral for Robert J. Tucker, 74, of Fairfield will be noon Thursday at the Connolly & Taylor Funeral Chapel in Martinez.

Burial will be in Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette.

Born April 19, 1925, in Cardwell, Mo., he died Jan. 14, 2000, in Fairfield.

Mr. Tucker lived in Fairfield for 14 years after being a resident of Martinez.

He was a Navy veteran and founder of the Pinole Valley Trucking Co. He retired in 1987 and enjoyed fishing, baseball and football.

Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife, Carina; daughters, Judy Smith of Reno, Lorraine Knox of Antioch, Cheryl Downey of Vacaville, Kuda Ware of Louisville, Ky., Christina and Volga Sarkisian of Fairfield; sons, Hamo Sarkisian and John Robert Tucker of Fairfield; sisters, Wilma Gannaway-Hope of Alaska, Dorothy McLaughlin-Dallas of Texas and Janell Paige-Bethel of Ohio; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by first wife, Billie, in 1986.

Lawrence 'Larry' Richard Jorgensen

Graveside services for Lawrence 'Larry' Richard Jorgensen, 89, of Vacaville will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Chaplain Elaine Lehr of NorthBay Medical Center will officiate.

Born Jan. 9, 1911, in Casper, Wyo., Mr. Jorgensen died Jan. 16, 2000, in NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield after a short illness.

He had lived in the Vacaville area for 44 years.

A merchant Marine seaman and World War II veteran, he retired as head storekeeper after 30 years at California Medical Facility in Vacaville. He also delivered Meals On Wheels to shut-ins for 10 years.

Mr. Jorgensen is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ola; brother, Arnold; two granddaughters, five great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several friends and neighbors.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Vaca Hills Chapel.

Chieko Naomi Fransen

A funeral for Chieko Naomi Fransen, 69, of Fairfield will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

The Rev. Lou Harris will officiate. Inurnment will be private in Fairmont Memorial Park.

Mrs. Fransen died Jan. 17, 2000, in her home after a long illness.

Born Nov. 21, 1930, in Muroran City, Hokkaido, Japan, she came to the United States in 1958. She lived in Fairfield for 33 years, was a homemaker for 41 years and worked at American Home Foods in Vacaville for 15 years.

Mrs. Fransen enjoyed flower arranging and music.

Mrs. Fransen is survived by her husband, Gail C. of Fairfield; and son, Anthony Scott of Antioch.

She was preceded in death by her son Andre in 1978.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Northern California Chapter, 203 Willow St., Suite 201, San Francisco, 94109, or Kaiser Hospice, 975 Sereno Drive, Vallejo, 94590.

Anna 'Ann' Ruth

Graveside services for Anna "Ann" Ruth, 94, of Vacaville will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Interment will be at the cemetery.

Born Feb. 13, 1905, in Napa, Mrs. Ruth died Jan. 18, 2000, in Fairfield.

A resident of Vacaville since 1946, Mrs. Ruth was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Native Daughters of Vacaville. Mrs. Ruth was a homemaker who enjoyed ranching on the family ranch and was also an avid gardener.

Mrs. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Beverley Day of Vacaville; son and daughter-in-law, James and Theresa of Vacaville; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Arrangements were made by McCune Garden Chapel.

William Alvah Truax

There will be no services for William Alvah Truax, 72, of American Canyon at his request. Burial will be private in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Truax died Jan. 16, 2000, in Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in San Rafael after a long illness.

Born May 8, 1927, in New Jersey, he moved to the area seven years ago. He was a self-employed cook for 45 years and a member of the First Christian Church in Napa.

Mr. Truax is survived by his wife, Barbara of American Canyon; children, Gary of Sparks, Nev., Fred of Kingman, Ariz., William of Sacramento, Denise Litton of Carson City and Tammi Willis of Long Beach; stepchildren, Janice Clifton of Napa and Steve Hartley of Vacaville; sisters, Anita Kupervs of Artesia, N.M., and Angie Klatt of Salinas; and grandchildren, Jason and Jennifer of Sparks, Dominic, Richard and Missy of Kingman, Alisha Litton of Carson City, Jennifer Clifton of Napa and John and Tom Hartley of Vacaville.

Arrangements were handled by Vaca Hills Chapel.

Idella Thomas White

A funeral for Idella Thomas White, 91, of Vacaville will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Angeles Abbey Memorial Park Chapel in Compton.

The Rev. Ronald Bridgette of Belmont Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Angeles Abbey Memorial Park.

Mrs. White died Jan. 16, 2000, in Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

Born Dec. 19, 1908, in Pine Bluff, Ark., she lived in Vacaville. She was a homemaker all her adult life and a member of the Great Hope Baptist Church in Los Angeles.

Mrs. White is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Juanita W. and Samuel K. Barlow of Vacaville; son, John C. of Rancho Cucamonga; daughter-in-law, Brenda White of Rancho Cucamonga; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. today in Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa, 95402.

Barbara Jean Green

Graveside services for Barbara Jean Green, 68, of Dixon will be 10 a.m. Monday in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Pastor Bruce Moore will officiate. Burial will follow.

Mrs. Green died Jan. 19, 2000, in Sutter Davis Hospital after a long illness.

Born Jan. 7, 1932, in Iowa, she moved to the area 35 years ago. She worked as a cosmetologist for 20 years.

Mrs. Green is survived by her husband, Lawrence of Dixon; grandchildren, Tara, Kelli and Nolan Cardwell, all of Dixon; and great-grandchildren, Jordon, Brittanee, Devyn and Tristin, all of Dixon.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheri Cardwell.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Vaca Hills Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Edward LeRoy Willis

Memorial services for Edward LeRoy Willis, 67, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Country Club Estates Club House, 1800 E. Tabor Ave., Fairfield.

Family and friends will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Willis died Jan. 16, 2000, in Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Walnut Creek after a short illness.

Born July 31, 1932, in Chadron, Neb., he lived in Fairfield for four years. He worked as a meat cutter for Berkeley Market for 32 years, having formerly been a longtime resident of Contra Costa and Alameda counties.

Mr. Willis is survived by his wife, Doreen of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Rory Dimick of Vallejo; daughter, Susan of Richmond; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Connie of Riverdale; son, David of Suisun; sisters, Norma Straub of Redding and Donna Mann of Citrus Heights; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Victoria Tomerlin.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association.

Arrangements were made by Fairfield Funeral Home.

Edwin Karl Busbee

A gathering of family and friends will be held for Edwin Karl Busbee, 57, of Vacaville from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 29 in the Winters Opera House, 13 Main St., Winters.

Inurnment will be private.

Born April 23, 1942, in Palo Alto, Mr. Busbee died Jan. 20, 2000, in his Vacaville home after a short illness.

He moved to the area 25 years ago.

He worked for PG&E for 30 years, serving last as crew foreman. He enjoyed helping others and was a generous friend.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Vacaville; sons, Stuart of Roseville and Steven of Chico; five brothers, including Paul of Fairfield; and four sisters.
