Mary Ellen Bothne

Memorial services for Mary Ellen Bothne, 69, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Vaca Hills Chapel. Pastor Allen Schoonover of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church will officiate.

Interment will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at San Francisco National Cemetery.

Born Nov. 29, 1930, in Sacramento, Mrs. Bothne died Jan. 25, 2000, in the Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

She moved to Vacaville seven years ago and was an admissions clerk with Methodist Hospital for 14 years. She was an avid bridge player who enjoyed books, music and corresponding with longtime family friends.

Mrs. Bothne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Robert Vestal of Vacaville; daughters, Nancy of Chicago and Kathleen of Nashville, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Dianne of Memphis, Tenn.; mother and father, Madelyn and Joseph Fitzhenry of Santa Maria; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Virginia Fitzhenry of Santa Maria; and grandchildren, John Vestal of Pinole, Matthew Vestal of Pittsburgh and Scott and Lara Bothne of Memphis, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Norman Jr. in 1987.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart and Lung Association.

Patricia Edith Kayrallah

A private memorial Mass for Patricia Edith Kayrallah, 71, of Vallejo will be said at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Vallejo. Inurnment will be private at Fairmont Memorial Park in Fairfield.

Mrs. Kayrallah died on Jan. 11, 2000, in Vallejo after a long illness.

Born on March 23, 1928, in Cambridge, Mass., she lived in Vallejo for the past 10 years after having lived in Concord since 1975. She worked for Bank of America as a claims processor for 10 years. She enjoyed reading and was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Vallejo.

Mrs. Kayrallah is survived by her daughter, Margie Waters of Vallejo; and grandson, Tim Foss of Vallejo.

Arthelyn R. Duren

A private graveside service will be held for Arthelyn R. Duren, 86, of Fairfield. Inurnment will be private at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Duren died on Jan. 26, 2000, in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born on Dec. 27, 1913, in Vacaville, she lived in Fairfield for the past 62 years and was a homemaker all that time.

Mrs. Duren is survived by her husband, Joseph of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Gil Larson of Suisun City; sister, Uriel Shields of Stockton; granddaughter and her husband, Michele and Paul Taprio of Vacaville; and great-grandchildren, Matthew T. Haman, Whitney Haman and Brendan Polick, all of Vacaville.

Marjorie L. Griffiths

A Celebration of Life service for Marjorie L. Griffiths, 85, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. today at North Bay Rancho Solano.

The Rev. Vic Jenkins will officiate. Inurnment will be private at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sacramento.

Mrs. Griffiths died on Jan. 26, 2000, at Vacaville Convalescent Hospital after a brief illness.

Born on Jan. 7, 1915, in Beaver Falls, Pa., she lived in Fairfield for the past year after having lived in Sacramento. She was a volunteer at Kaiser Permanente Hospital and was also a member of the St. Patrick's Home Guild in Sacramento as well as the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed ceramics, traveling and gatherings with friends and family.

Mrs. Griffiths is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Ernest Rojas of San Diego and Maria Bertsch-Brown and Glenn Brown of Vacaville; son and daughter-in-law, John and Kathi Bertsch of Evans, Ga.; and sister, Helen Clark of Irving, Texas. She also had eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald in 1999 and Eugene Bertsch in 1965.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are being handled by Neptune Society of Northern California.

Harold Jackson Klouser

At his request, no services will be held for Harold Jackson Klouser, 80, of Vacaville. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Klouser died on Jan. 26, 2000, at David Grant Medical Center on Travis Air Force Base after a sudden illness.

Born on Jan. 1, 1920, in Pennsylvania, he moved to the area 12 years ago. He worked as a security manager for JC Penney for 10 years before retiring.

Mr. Klouser is survived by his wife, Greta of Vacaville.

Letitia Margaret Mace

Funeral services for Letitia Margaret Mace, 89, of Dixon will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peters Catholic Church.

Interment will be at Silveryville Cemetery. Father Maurice O'Brien will preside.

Born June 4, 1901, in Batavia, Mrs. Mace died Jan. 28, 2000, in Dixon after a long illness.

A lifelong resident of Solano County, Mrs. Mace is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Diane of Alabama; grandchildren, Steve of Dallas and Jill Mace Lynn of Washington, D.C.; great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Connor of Dallas; nieces, Mary Anderson and Mabrey Scott, both of Dixon; and nephews, Alan Anderson of San Francisco and George Anderson of Dixon.

Arrangements are under the direction of Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Alicia Marie Zavala

A Catholic Prayer Service for Alicia Marie Zavala, 1, of Vacaville will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Vaca Hills Chapel.

The Rev. Benedict DeLeon will officiate. Burial will be at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at the chapel.

Alicia died on Jan. 25, 2000, in Oakland Children's Hospital after a sudden illness.

Born on Dec. 22, 1998, in Vallejo, she lived in Vacaville.

Alicia is survived by her mother, Jessica Gomez of Vacaville; and father, Omar Alejandro of Vacaville.

Junius Stanley Barnard

Funeral services for Junius Stanley Barnard, 84, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Vaca Hills Chapel.

Pastor Michael Morrison will officiate. Burial will be at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.

Mr. Barnard died on Jan. 28, 2000, at his home in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born on Nov. 29, 1915, in Athensville, Ill., he moved to the area 20 years ago. He worked as a maintenance electrician for Colter Steel and Forge for 25 years. His special hobby was stained glass.

Mr. Barnard is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Smith of Vacaville and Linda Schwab of Jerseyville, Ill.; son, Stanley G. of Vacaville; brothers, Derald of Sedalia, Mo., and Robert H. of Florida; and sisters, Cleta Hayes of Delhi, Ill., and Wilma Chappee of Carrolton, Ill. He also had eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Deborah E. Terrock

At her request, no local services will be held for Deborah E. Terrock, 81, of Vacaville. All formal services will be held in Illinois.

Mrs. Terrock died on Jan. 29, 2000, at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Vallejo after a brief illness.

Born on June 20, 1918, in Galesburg, Ill., she lived in Vacaville for the past two years. She was a homemaker all her life.

Mrs. Terrock is survived by her daughters, Patty Yoder of Vacaville and Kristy Owens of Glen Mills, Pa.; and brother, Paul Rasmussen of West Covina. She also had three grandchildren.

John E. Kingsmore Sr.

A Mass will be held for John E. Kingsmore Sr., 87, of Vallejo at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine's of Siena Catholic Church in Vallejo. A recitation of the rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Wiggins-Knipp Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private.

Born Nov. 3, 1912, in Philadelphia, Mr. Kingsmore died Jan. 28, 2000, at a local hospital after a brief illness.

He worked for Catalytic Construction as a cost engineer for 45 years before retiring in 1977. He was an alumni of Girard College in Philadelphia and he loved to cook.

Mr. Kingsmore is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret of Vallejo; daughters, Teany Gieseke of Vallejo, Peggy Sykes of Arlington, Va., Janet DiRenzo of Cherry Hill, N.J., Nancy Shaffer of Vacaville, Danna Dahling and Denise Bonilla, both of Edgewater Park, N.J., and Rosemary Agot of Fairfield; son, John Kingsmore Jr. of Las Vegas; 27 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Lou Kingsmore in 1992.

Herman Howard Bettinger

There will be a private burial in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery for Herman Howard Bettinger, 91, of Lewis, Colo.

Born Feb. 15, 1908, in New Jersey, Mr. Bettinger died Jan. 28, 2000, in Lewis after a long illness.

Mr. Bettinger was a longtime resident of Leisure Town, living there from 1976 to 1996.

He moved to Colorado in 1996 to live with his son and daughter-in-law.

He worked as a tool and die maker for Hunt Manufacturing Co. for 51 years.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bettinger of Lewis.

Anthony Lee Bishop

Memorial services for Anthony Lee Bishop, 55, of Vacaville will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Vaca Hills Chapel.

The Rev. Jeff Barnes of the Santa Rosa Presbyterian Church will officiate.

Inurnment will be in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born Aug. 21, 1944, in Ohio, Mr. Bishop died Jan. 28, 2000, in his Vacaville home after a long illness.

He moved to the area 25 years ago.

He was a member of the Plumbers Union Local 343 in Vallejo.

He enjoyed camping, fishing and bowling.

He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Kerr of Vacaville; son, Marc of Ohio; brother, Robert of Visalia; and grandchildren, Nathan, Brandon and Jenna.

Laura Gonsalves

Visitation for Mrs. Laura Gonsalves, 100, of Fairfield, will be 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Bryan-Braker Funeral Home Chapel.

A funeral will be held 10 a.m. at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The Rev. Lucian Valenzuela of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church will officiate.

Mrs. Gonsalves will be buried at the Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born Aug. 18, 1899, in New Bradford, Mass., Mrs. Gonsalves died Jan. 29, 2000, in Fairfield after a long illness.

She lived in Fairfield for 52 years.

She is survived by her husband, Rudy, and great-niece, Evelyn Gimzo of Fairfield.

Jerald Wayne Harris

A memorial service for Jerald Wayne Harris, 59, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. today at the Bryan-Braker Funeral Home Chapel in Fairfield.

The Rev. Morris Muench of the Baptist Church in Victorville will officiate.

There will be a private inurnment.

Born June 26, 1940, in Kingsville, Texas, Mr. Harris died Jan. 28, 2000, at his Fairfield home after a short illness.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He worked for Alza Security Services.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, of Fairfield; son, Scott of Fairfield; daughters, Vicky Aguon of Fairfield and Robin of Dugway, Utah; brothers, James of Texas, Tom of Montana and Ronnie of Oklahoma; sisters, Eva Jo Muench of Victorville and Patricia Clamp of Anchorage, Alaska; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Lightfoot.
