Minerva Justine Kearney

Funeral services for Minerva Justine Kearney, 86, of Sloughhouse will be noon Friday at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Davis.

Mrs. Kearney died suddenly on Feb. 14, 2000.

Born on Dec. 4, 1913, she attended Carson Creek School in rural Folsom and graduated from Folsom High School in 1932. She graduated from Sacramento Junior College. She was a resident of the Davis and Dixon area from 1934 to 1986, where she worked with her husband in the family dairy and, later, the family beef cattle business. She helped nurse some of her adult children back to health after serious illnesses and was an active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church. She will be remembered for her vegetable gardens, flower gardens and spring picnics.

Mrs. Kearney is survived by her children, David and Mark of Vacaville, Frederick and Carol of Folsom, Naudine Ortega of North Highlands and Linda Fortis of Dixon; grandchildren, Mel Ortega, Miriam Tyson and Gino and Tasha Fortis; sister, Genevieve Caples of Sacramento; and brother, Louis Payen of Folsom. She also had four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles, in 1987.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Arrangements are being handled by Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Sharon Lynn Knauer

Funeral services for Sharon Lynn Knauer, 47, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Friday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield. The Rev. Stewart Drake will officiate. Interment will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Miss Knauer died on Feb. 15, 2000, in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born on Dec. 10, 1952, in Corning, she lived in Fairfield for 39 years.

Miss Knauer is survived by her mother, Virginia of Fairfield; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Dale Adcock of Vacaville and Angela and John Currier of Fairfield; and brother and sister-in-law, David and Sharon of Roseburg, Ore. She also had several nieces, nephews and friends.

Louis Rodrigues

At his request, no formal services will be held for Louis Rodrigues, 89, of Fairfield. Interment will be private at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mr. Rodrigues died on Feb. 14, 2000, at his home in Fairfield after a sudden illness.

Born on Sept. 11, 1910, in the Hawaiian Islands, he lived in Fairfield for 80 years. He was a self-employed fruit rancher in the Suisun Valley for 60 years and a member of the Suisun Valley Fruit Growers Association as well as the Fairfield-Suisun Senior Center.

Mr. Rodrigues is survived by his granddaughter, Lynette; grandsons, Scott and Craig; great-granddaughter, Lindsay; and great-grandsons, Troy and Stephan, all of Orangevale.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Stanley Andrino

Services for Stanley Andrino, 78, of Suisun Valley will be private. Inurnment also will be private.

Mr. Andrino died on Feb. 15, 2000, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born on Aug. 27, 1921, in Los Angeles, he lived in Suisun Valley for the past 37 years after having lived in Vacaville from 1958 to 1963. He worked as a U.S. Air Force pilot for 25 years before retiring in 1968 at Travis Air Force Base as a major. He served in World War II as a B-24 bomber pilot and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars as a MATS pilot. He owned a walnut orchard in Suisun Valley.

Mr. Andrino is survived by his wife, Rita of Suisun Valley; daughters, Terri Korte of Suisun Valley and Diane Rutherford of Wheatridge, Colo.; son, Roger of Suisun Valley; grandsons, Danny Rutherford of Wheatridge and Bobby Rutherford of Fort Collins, Colo.; and great-granddaughter, Randi Rutherford of Wheatridge.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.

Arrangements are being handled by Fairfield Funeral Home.

Helen Louise Hill

Services for Helen Louise Hill, 75, of Fairfield will be private at Solano Valley Mortuary.

Mrs. Hill died on Feb. 13, 2000.

Born on Oct. 2, 1924, in California, she lived in Fairfield for the past 48 years. She worked as a private secretary at Conova Moving and Storage in Vallejo.

Mrs. Hill is survived by her daughter, Ronnie Tucker of Fairfield; and sons, Dennis of Fairfield and Curtis of Suisun. She also had three grandchildren.

Pok Sun Kim

Memorial services for Pok Sun Kim, 71, of Suisun will be private at Solano Valley Mortuary. Burial will be private.

Ms. Kim died on Feb. 11, 2000, at her home in Suisun after a long illness.

Born on March 3, 1928, in Korea, she lived in Suisun for the past eight years.

Ms. Kim is survived by her daughters, Sun Yo of Suisun and Sun Duk of Korea; sons, Dong Kun of Korea and Won Tae of Korea; son-in-law, Robert Vertacnik of Suisun; and two grandchildren of Korea.

Arrangements are being handled by Solano Valley Mortuary.

Beatrice 'Bea' Elizabeth Kincaid

A Mass of Christian Burial for Beatrice 'Bea' Elizabeth Kincaid, 81, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield. The Rev. Michael Downey will officiate. Interment will be at Fairfield-Suisun Cemetery following the Mass. A visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Kincaid died on Feb. 16, 2000, at her home in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born on Aug. 20, 1918, in Hilo, Hawaii, she lived in Fairfield all her life, moving to Solano County when she was 2 months old. She was known as a great cook and was the owner and operator of Bea's Corner Cafe Shop in Suisun and Bea's Cafe and Deli in Fairfield. She had worked at the hospital guild since 1980.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield, S.P.R.S.I. Portuguese Society, Senior American Club, Y.L.I., and NorthBay Hospital Guild, where she donated a lot of her time and performed in many hospital guild functions. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose No. 861 and did a lot of cooking for the lodge. She enjoyed cooking for friends and family. She also enjoyed crafts and donated many of her crafts to the hospital guild.

Mrs. Kincaid is survived by her husband of 60 years, Albert Orval of Fairfield; and daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Harley Yates of Phoenix. She also had six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Doug, in 1989.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1652 W. Texas St., Suite 110, Fairfield, 94533, or the NorthBay Hospice Program, 1300 Oliver Road, Suite 210, Fairfield, 94533.

Grace Marie Newsom

Memorial services for Grace Marie Newsom, 78, of Fairfield will be noon Saturday at Valley Evangelical Free Church. The Revs. Raleigh Galgan and David Sotelo will officiate. Entombment will be private.

Mrs. Newsom died on Feb. 13, 2000, in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born on Jan. 22, 1922, in Praise, Ky., she lived in Fairfield for the past 40 years. She worked in civil service for 42 years, the last 22 years at David Grant Medical Center on Travis Air Force Base as a supervisor at the central appointment desk. Her previous civil service jobs included stops in San Antonio, Texas, Colorado Springs, Colo., Syracuse, N.Y., San Bernardino and Anchorage, Alaska.

She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Newsom is survived by her daughters, Judy Lopez of Vacaville and Sharon McGuire of Los Angeles; granddaughter, Kelly Cantrell of Vacaville; grandsons, Michael McGuire of Vacaville, Brian McGuire of Pleasanton and Aaron Cantrell and Jason Lopez, both of San Luis Obispo; great-granddaughters, Rachel McGuire and Amy Cantrell, both of San Luis Obispo, Paige and Megan McGuire of Pleasanton and Rebecca McGuire of Vacaville; and great-grandson, Joseph Cantrell of San Luis Obispo.

Julianna H. Raymond

At her request, no formal services will be held for Julianna H. Raymond, 56, of Suisun.

Mrs. Raymond died on Feb. 15, 2000, in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born on Dec. 7, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio, she lived in Suisun for the past 20 years. She was a homemaker and a loving and caring wife.

Mrs. Raymond is survived by her husband, Roland of Suisun; son, Patrick of Suisun; and sisters, Carol Harper, Linda McCallion and Martha Zema, all of Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Richard Carl 'Dick' Dakin

A memorial service for Richard Carl 'Dick' Dakin, 72, of Vacaville will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

The Rev. Vincent O'Reilly of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Born Aug. 24, 1927, in Tacoma, Wash., Mr. Dakin died Feb. 13, 2000, at his home.

A resident of Vacaville for 41 years, Mr. Dakin was the assistant deputy chief of staff of Air Force Transportation Headquarters with the 15th Air Force and 22nd Military Airlift Command for 45 years, a career that began in 1950 at McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma then headed to Travis Air Force Base.

He received a bachelor's degree in psychology-sociology in 1950 from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma. He joined the Travis Federal Credit Union in 1965 and served there for 32 years. He was vice president from 1971 to 1977 and president-board chairman from 1978 to 1988. He served as one of the founding board members.

Mr. Dakin was an avid golfer and tennis player, as well as a devoted father who adored his grandchildren.

Mr. Dakin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Toni of Tacoma; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Shayne of Vacaville and Robert and Diane of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Rick Marsh of Vacaville; and grandchildren, Kristopher and Eric of Vacaville, Ric and Matthew of Knoxville and Jeremy and Jenny Marsh of Vacaville.

Memorial contributions made be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

James H. Pichon

A funeral for James H. Pichon, 91, of Dixon will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Dixon Community Church.

Pastor Wesley Nordman of the church will officiate. Interment will be at Silveyville Cemetery.

Born Sept. 12, 1908, in Danville, Ill., Mr. Pichon died Feb. 16, 2000, in Davis.

A resident of Dixon for 56 years, Mr. Pichon was part owner of Dixon Drug Store from 1944 until his retirement in 1980. He loved fishing and hunting.

Mr. Pichon is survived by his wife of 70 years, Agnes of Dixon; daughter-in-law, Lorraine of Reno; grandchildren, Jennifer of Roseville, Gregory of South Lake Tahoe, Mathew of Reno and Andy of Silver Spring, Nev.; and great-grandchildren, Adam of Champaign, Ill., and Arianne of Las Vegas.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Gary and James D.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Dixon Community Church, 955 East A St., Dixon, 95620, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are being handled by Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.
