Patty Lou Hudson

A funeral for Patty Lou Hudson, 58, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Valley Church Student Center. Pastor Dave Soleto will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Hudson died on March 11, 2000, in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born on March 1, 1942, in Minnesota, she was raised in Castleton, N.D., and graduated from Castleton High School in 1960. She moved to California in 1962 and was a longtime resident of Stockton before moving to Vacaville late last year to live with her son and daughter-in-law. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Hudson is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Erich and Mary Pann of Vacaville; daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Dennis Mederios of Turlock and Kimberly and Mark Vasquez of Elk Grove; grandchildren, Ryan and Nichole Pann and Joseph Brock, all of Vacaville, Madison and Kelsey Mederios, both of Turlock, and Madeline and Olivia Vasquez, both of Elk Grove; and brothers and sisters, Ward, Ruby Cahlin, Harold, Glen, Claud, Lois Kuklok and Rodger, all of North Dakota, and Fredric of Tucson, Ariz.

Robert M. Mayer

A funeral for Robert M. Mayer, 69, of Antelope will be 10 a.m. Friday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Friends may call for visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Mayer died on March 13, 2000, at his home after a short illness.

Born on May 3, 1930, in San Francisco, he lived in Antelope for the past six years. He was a lithographer for the past 45 years, most recently employed with Carwen Printers. He was an avid skier who also enjoyed camping and basketball. He attended the University of Arizona on a basketball scholarship.

Mr. Mayer is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sonja Papin Mayer of Antelope; daughters and sons-in-law, Karn and Alan Ajvey of Granite Bay and Leslie Erine and Michael Larivee of Carmichael; and grandchildren, Alex and Amanda Larivee, both of Carmichael, and Lauren Ajvey of Granite Bay.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 11211 Gold Country Blvd., Rancho Cordova, 95614.

Antoinette E. Perez

A Catholic Prayer Service for Antoinette E. Perez, 84, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Friday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home. The Rev. Benedict DeLeon will officiate. Interment will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Perez died on March 13, 2000, at Sunbridge Care Center in Fairfield after a brief illness.

Born on July 23, 1915, in Granada, Spain, she lived in Vacaville for the past 78 years. She worked at Basic Vegetable in Vacaville for 30 years, working at many different cannery positions. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Club, the Basic Founders Club and the Spanish Club of Woodland.

Mrs. Perez is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Dorice of Vacaville; grandson, Brenden of San Diego; sisters, Mary Castano, Jane Garcia, and Ann Silva, all of Vacaville; and brother, John Ellasces of Woodland. She also had many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Aid Society of Northern California, P.O. Box 1824, Sacramento, 95812.

Matthew James Servantes

A funeral for Matthew James Servantes, 44, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield. The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will officiate. Interment will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mr. Servantes died on March 13, 2000, in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born on May 19, 1955, in Martinez, he spent all his life in Fairfield. He was a military veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years. He worked as an upholster at Burnett's Upholstering and performed that type of work for 22 years, working on automobiles and aircraft. He loved fishing, shooting pool and dancing to country music. He attended school at St. Catherine's in Martinez, where he was baptized and received his first communion.

Mr. Servantes is survived by his father, Matilde V. of Fairfield; mother, Matilde C. of Fairfield; brother, Richard L. of Gardnerville, Nev.; and sisters, Julia R. Mangino of Pittsburg, Diana C. of Fairfield, Georgia of Kelseyville and Peggy of Martinez. He also had numerous nephews and nieces and several great-nephews and great-nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to NorthBay Hospice, 1300 Olive Road, Suite 210, Fairfield, 94533.

Frank Vandelaar

A funeral for Frank Vandelaar, 79, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Latter-day Saints, Fifth Ward. Burial will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Vandelaar died on March 11, 2000.

Born on Nov. 16, 1920, in Rotterdan, Netherlands, he lived in Vacaville for the past 24 years. He enlisted in the Dutch military just before World War II and was captured and held as a prisoner of war for 100 days. He later worked for both the Dutch and French underground. After World War II, he worked on loading ships and became a superintendent with the Rotterdan Terminal Company for many years. He became a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a member of the Vacaville Fifth Ward. He worked in maintenance for the Ogden City School District. He moved to Berlin in 1973 and worked for three years as a civilian employee for the U.S. Army before moving to Vacaville. He worked for Green Valley Country Club and Jack Swift Co. before retiring.

Mr. Vandelaar is survived by his wife, Patsy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Diabetes Society of Solano County, 817 Missouri St., Fairfield, 94533.

Arrangements are being handled by McCune Garden Chapel.

Hazel D. Beck

Private services will be held for Hazel D. Beck, 88, of Fairfield. Entombment also will be private at Fairmont Memorial Park.

Born Dec. 7, 1911, in Kansas, Mrs. Beck died March 14, 2000, in Fairfield.

She was a homemaker for 63 years, a loving mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Beck is survived by daughters, Betty Gough of Vacaville and Linda Anderson of Fairfield; sisters, Laura Straight of Lawrence, Kan., and Thelma Elliot and Billie Maudsley, both of Farmersville, Texas; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harold "Bud" Beck, in 1994.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to NorthBay Hospice, 1300 Oliver Road, Suite 210, Fairfield, 94533.

Arrangements were under the direction of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Frances Tichenor

A memorial service for former Leisure Town Resident Frances Tichenor will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Leisure Town Hall, 100 Sequoia Ave.

Active and well-known in Vacaville"s retirement community for decades, she moved five years ago to live with her daughter in Elk Grove. She died March 8, 2000, in the University of California, Davis, Medical Center in Sacramento from complications from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Jan. 11.

Born Feb. 5, 1914, in Baltimore, she was married to Ralph Tichenor, a former Reporter columnist who preceded her in death. Mrs. Tichenor edited her husband"s writing.

Mrs. Tichenor was a longtime resident of Leisure Town where she was active in community activities. She was a member of the Green Tree Niners and the Twice Arounders women"s golf clubs.

After her husband"s death in 1995, she made her home with her daughter, Louise McHugh. She was active in the senior center and the Elk Grove United Methodist Church. She also continued to be an avid golfer at both Emerald Lakes and Champions Golf Links golf courses, shooting, as she always said, "short but straight."

Although she no longer lived in Leisure Town, she always said she missed her Vacaville friends and always enjoyed visiting for Christmas parties and especially for the golf tournament and the presentation of the trophy named in her honor by the VacaValley Women"s Club, a group Mrs. Tichenor organized and was the first captain of in 1964.

In addition to her husband Ralph, she also was preceded in death by their son, Fred.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Louise McHugh of Elk Grove; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Tichenor of Sun Prairie, Wis.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her recent companion, Henry Krysiak.

Arrangements were handled by Vaca Hills Chapel in Vacaville.

Stephen Michael "Mikey" McLaughlin Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Stephen Michael "Mikey" McLaughlin Jr., 21, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary"s Catholic Church. The Rev. William S. Feeser will preside. Interment will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday with a rosary at 6 p.m. Sunday at McCune Garden Chapel.

Born Aug. 1, 1978, in Kansas City, Mo., Mr. McLaughlin died March 13, 2000, in Dixon from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was an employee at Costco in Fairfield and was a graduate of Will C. Wood High School, where he played football for the Wildcats. He was attending Solano Community College and loved snowboarding, in-line skating and his friends.

Mr. McLaughlin is survived by his mother and stepfather, Kimberly and Sam Mendoza of Vacaville; sister, Christine Miramontes of Los Angeles; grandmother, Peggy Williams of Illinois; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bruce E. Pearson

A funeral for Bruce E. Pearson, 40, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. Friday at True Love Baptist Church. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Solano Valley Mortuary. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Chicago.

Born Feb. 5, 1960, in Chicago, Mr. Pearson died March 11, 2000, at Sutter Solano Hospital after a brief illness. He was a program director.

Mr. Pearson is survived by his wife, Lolita of Vacaville; mother, Ola Jean of Chicago; sisters, Donna Long, Carole and Renee, all of Chicago, and Audrey of Fairfield; brother, Arthur (Ricky) of Chicago; and many other nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur of Chicago.

Arrangements are under the direction of Solano Valley Mortuary.

Seth Anthony Allshouse

A funeral for Seth Anthony Allshouse, 19, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 480 Wrentham Drive. Bishop Loren Bates will preside. Burial will be at Davis Cemetery.

Born July 14, 1980, in Harbor City, Mr. Allshouse died March 13, 2000, in Dixon from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

He worked at Target for two years and was excited about starting in the field of computers as a Web page creator. He was a graduate of Vacaville High School and loved football, family and friends.

Mr. Allshouse is survived by his mother and father, Ron and Mariel of Vacaville; sisters, Katrina Korsak and Rachel Medina, both of Dixon, and Shawnda of Minneapolis; brothers, Nathan of Davis and Ronnie of Vacaville; seven nieces and nephews; 35 cousins; and 16 aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his sister Heather Blyth in 1997.

Arrangements are under the direction of Struble Family Funeral Services.

James A. Hutcheon

A memorial service for James A. Hutcheon, 57, of Auburn will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Chapel of the Hills in Auburn. Interment will be private at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mr. Hutcheon died on March 10, 2000, in Auburn after a short illness.

Born on April 9, 1942, in Sacramento, he lived in Auburn for the past 18 years. He was a member of the National Guard. He owned Hutcheon's Accounting Inc. and was a self-employed CPA for 34 years.

He was raised in Fairfield and attended Armijo High School. He was a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and a past treasurer of the city of Auburn. He was a member of the Lions Club, Host Lions Club and AICPA.

Mr. Hutcheon is survived by his wife, Carole Kirk-Hutcheon of Auburn; daughter, Tara of Berkeley; stepson, John Bowen of San Francisco; and sister, Charlotte Hutcheon Skvorak of Suisun City. He also had one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott.

Douglas MacArthur Southworth

A Catholic Prayer Service for Douglas MacArthur Southworth, 57, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Vaca Hills Chapel.

The Rev. Benedict DeLeon will preside. Burial will be at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. A rosary will be held 6:30 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Visitation is private.

Born April 4, 1942, in Georgetown, Texas, Mr. Southworth died March 13, 2000, at home following a sudden illness.

He retired after 23 years as a manager for the California Water Service. He enjoyed golf, fishing and gardening and was a member of Rotary and Boy's Club.

Mr. Southworth is survived by his wife, Susan of Vacaville; daughter, Linda of Vacaville; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Scott Hansen of Vacaville; brother-in-law and sister, Joseph and Maggie Freydoz of Belmont; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Gay Nell Southworth of Texas; sister, Judy Thomison of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alexander Michael Brodsky

A funeral for Alexander Michael Brodsky, 22, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chapel Center, 200 Hackett St., Travis Air Force Base. Chaplain Weber will preside. Interment will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at McCune Garden Chapel.

Born Dec. 9, 1977, in Phoenix, Ariz., Mr. Brodsky died March 13, 2000, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

A senior airman in the U.S. Air Force, he was a 1997 graduate of Will C. Wood High School. He enjoyed snowboarding, in-line skating and being with his friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Brodsky is survived by his mother, Terry of Vacaville; father, David of Fairfield; sister, Michelle Ann Hall of Arizona; and brother, Jonathan of Vacaville.
