Raymond Games Knox Jr.

A funeral for Raymond Games Knox Jr., 75, of Suisun will be 11 a.m. Monday at Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship in Suisun. Pastor Larry Vilardo will officiate. Interment will be private.

Born March 15, 1925, in Kansas City, Kansas, Mr. Knox died March 28, 2000, at his Suisun residence after a short illness.

A Suisun resident for 32 years, Mr. Knox was veteran of the Army Air Corps. He received his bachelor's degree in forest re-creation from Colorado State University in 1949 and worked as a park ranger for the National Park Service at Yellowstone National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park and Lava Beds National Monument. He also worked as a grazing manager for the Bureau of Land Management in Sacramento and was a supervisor of land acquisition for Pacific Gas & Electric Co. in Sacramento and San Francisco.

He was a member of Demolay and the Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship and was a registered California state forester. He enjoyed woodworking, hiking, walking and traveling. He also was a train buff.

Mr. Knox is survived by his wife, Barbara of Suisun; daughters and sons-in-law, Gay and J. Sterling Bobbitt of Martinez, Lynne and Thad Beery of Littleton, Colo., and Jan and Scott Emmerich of Columbia Falls, Mont.; father, Raymond Sr. of Kansas City; sister, Jane Volbrecht of Lodi; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Carri Beth of Shawnee, Kan., and Jay and Linda of Prairie Village, Kan.; and three grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship, 4177-A Suisun Valley Road, Suisun, 94585.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

June C. Hamilton

A memorial service for June C. Hamilton, 58, of Fairfield will be 5 p.m. Monday at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. The Rev. Allen Schoonover will officiate. Her ashes will be scattered at sea.

Ms. Hamilton died on March 28, 2000, in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born on May 25, 1941, in San Francisco, she lived in Fairfield for 25 years. She was the office manager at Cigarettes Cheaper for 20 years. She was also a member of the Fairfield Tennis Club.

Ms. Hamilton is survived by her daughter, Susan of Vacaville; daughter-in-law, Claudiarae of Vacaville; son, Richard of Vacaville; sister, Florence Batiloro of San Francisco; and brother, Wilfred Spence of Napa. She also had two grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Fairfield Humane Society, 51 Commerce Place, Vacaville, 95687.

Arrangements are being handled by Fairfield Funeral Home.

Mildred B. Jewart

At her request, no services will be held for Mildred B. Jewart, 81, of Vacaville.

Mrs. Jewart died on March 30, 2000, in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born on Nov. 1, 1918, in Alfred, N.Y., she lived in Vacaville for the past 17 years. She was a homemaker for 60 years.

Mrs. Jewart is survived by her sons, John of Fairfield and Charles N. of Phoenix. She also had four grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Fairfield Funeral Home.

Dale Howard Mason

A memorial service for Dale Howard Mason, 71, of Vacaville will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at McCune Garden Chapel. Interment will be private.

Born Oct. 19, 1928, in Quapaw, Okla., Mr. Mason died March 25, 2000, in Vacaville after a long illness.

A member of Moose Lodge 861 of Fairfield, Mr. Mason retired both from the Air Force and from International Home Food, after working there for 24 years.

Mr. Mason is survived by his wife, Carol of Vacaville; daughter, Diana of Vacaville; son, Thomas of Vacaville, son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Kearsten Weeks of Vacaville; grandchildren, Devin and Derek Weeks of Vacaville; and sister, Madge Halliburton of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Ruth, and brother, Glenn.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Mason's name to the American Lung Association of Contra Costa, 105 Astrid Drive, Pleasant Hill, 94523.

Ramon B. Zatarain

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ramon B. Zatarain, 82, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in National City. Burial will be in National City. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Solano Valley Mortuary.

Mr. Zatarain died on March 29, 2000, at his home in Fairfield after a brief illness.

Born on Aug. 17, 1917, in Siqueiros, Sinaloa, Mexico, he lived in Fairfield for 11 years. He was a nurseryman and grower and was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Mr. Zatarain is survived by his wife, Louise of Fairfield; daughters, Eileen Passanisi and Veronica Z. Edmisten, both of Fairfield; brothers, Carlos, Salvado and Austraberto, all of Mexico; grandchildren, Javier and Felicidad, both of Mexico, Anthony Passanisi of Santa Barbara and Jonathan Edmisten and Nicolas Callorina, both of Fairfield; and great-grandchildren, Victoria and Hector Ramon, both of Mexico, and Alexander Ramon Callorina of Fairfield.

Bruce Dean Kraemer

Graveside services with full military honors for Bruce Dean Kraemer, 65, of Suisun will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Skyview Memorial Lawn-Garden of Devotion in Vallejo.

Stan Sanderson will officiate. Interment will follow. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mr. Kraemer died on March 31, 2000, at his home in Suisun after a short illness.

Born on Sept. 14, 1934, in Lake Williams, N.D., he lived in the Fairfield-Suisun area for 45 years after having lived in Vallejo for two years. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years, retiring as a chief master sergeant.

After his military service, he continued working at Travis Air Force Base as deputy director of logistics, a position he held for the past 25 years. He very much enjoyed working with people at the base. He was a member of the Oxbow Marina Yacht Club in Heston and the Bayliner Club.

Mr. Kraemer is survived by his wife, Betty Jo of Suisun; daughter, Patricia Jean Wywadis of Seattle; mother, Cora Peg Kraemer-Wilburn of Lodi; sister, Gwendolyn Barker of Carmichael; brothers, Larry of Carmichael, Kenton of San Antonio and Darren of Lodi; grandson, Lief Wywadis of Seattle; niece, Kristi Kirkpatrick of Colfax, Wash.; and nephews, Jess and Ralph Walter, both of Spokane, Wash.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Solano County, 1652 W. Texas St., Suite 110, Fairfield, 94533.

Joseph V. Lawrence

A memorial service for Joseph V. Lawrence, 78, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Suisun Fairfield Cemetery Catholic Section. Inurnment will be at the cemetery at a later date.

Mr. Lawrence died on March 31, 2000, in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born on Dec. 7, 1921, in Oakland, he lived in Fairfield for 73 years. He was a graduate of Armijo High School's class of 1939. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific campaign, specifically in the Philippines. He left the Army as a technical sergeant before going to work at Mare Island Naval Shipyard as a shipfitter. He retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He loved to travel and enjoyed the outdoors.

Mr. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 57 years, Harryetta of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Robert Pendleton of Fairfield; son, Alan of Fairfield; and grandchildren, Conni and her husband, Albert Difuntorum, of Fairfield, and Wade and his wife, Millie Pendleton, of Fairfield. He also had three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Sally S. Midez

A funeral for Sally S. Midez, 86, of Vallejo will be 11 a.m. Monday at Fairmont Memorial Park Chapel.

Stan Sanderson will officiate. Entombment will be at Fairmont Memorial Park.

Mrs. Midez died on March 30, 2000, in Vallejo after a long illness.

Born on Aug. 16, 1913, in New York, she lived in Vallejo for eight years. She was a homemaker for more than 60 years.

Mrs. Midez is survived by her daughter, Marlene Martinez of Daly City; and sisters, Rose Cooper of South San Francisco and Rae Koneningburg of Santa Rosa. She also had five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Allan Nechetsky.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Carlos M. Gatlin Sr.

A funeral for Carlos M. Gatlin Sr., 29, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Old Path Church in Vallejo.

Elder Jerone Davison will officiate. Interment will be at Rolling Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Mr. Gatlin died on March 29, 2000, at NorthBay Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born on June 30, 1970, in Berkeley, he lived in Fairfield for 19 years. He worked as a youth counselor in Santa Rosa for one year. He was a loving husband, father and son.

Mr. Gatlin is survived by his wife, Shawna of Fairfield; sons, Jerick of Hayward and Carlos Jr. of Fairfield; parents, Carl and Melva of Suisun; brothers, Carl of San Pablo and Marcel of Fairfield; and sisters, Jackie of Hayward, Candice Williams of Oakland, Lena Dismuke of Fairfield and Lana'ee Chapman of Fairfield.

Don Harness Sr.

A funeral for Don Harness Sr., 76, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and formerly of Northern California, were held March 20, in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Burial was in Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa.

Born Feb. 12, 1924, in Ottumwa, he died March 16, 2000, in his Excelsior Springs home after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Harness was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He landed in France through Utah Beach in Normandy and among several areas of duty survived the Battle of the Bulge, where he was linked to Gen. George Patton's command. He served in England, France, Alsace-Lorraine, Belgium and Germany.

A United States flag was presented during graveside services to Mrs. Harness for her husband's service to his country.

His early career was shared with the Milwaukee Railroad and as a printer. He was a manager at Pacific Intermountain Express in Emeryville prior to being transferred to Kansas City, Mo. He retired from the Chicago Northwestern Railroad in Kansas City because of health reasons in the 1980s.

He enjoyed his family, boating, motorcycles, horses, cattle and dogs, puzzles, sports, game shows and picking lottery numbers.

Mr. Harness is survived by his wife, Jean; sons and daughters-in-law, Don Jr. and Susan of Dixon and David and Anne of Excelsior Springs; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Elmer Lewis of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Jeanette and Ray Curtis of Agency, Iowa; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Jean of Bradenton, Fla.; granddaughter, Jennifer K. of La Mesa; grandsons, Davey and Steven and Steven's wife, Brandi, of Excelsior Springs, Sgt. Todd of Camp Pendleton and Travis, of La Mesa, plus three great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was in the Pritcherd Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs on March 18.

Arrangements were handled by the Pritcherd Home and in Ottumwa, the Alexander-Johnson Funeral Home.

A memorial contribution may be made to the American Heart Association or for Parkinson's Disease research.

Ora Pleasants

At her request, no formal services will be held for Ora Pleasants, 81, of Vacaville. Interment will be private.

Mrs. Pleasants died on March 31, 2000, at Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born on June 24, 1918, in Dixon, she was a lifelong resident of Dixon and Vacaville. In her working years, she was a cashier at Day's Drugs in Winters and also was a secretary at a local construction and concrete company.

Mrs. Pleasants is survived by her daughter, Claudia Shrum of Santa Rosa, and son, Bill of Vacaville. She also had four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Nadeau Family Funeral Home in Vacaville.

James William Chadbourne

A funeral for James William Chadbourne, 76, of Fairfield will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Grace Episcopal Church. The Rev. John Duncan will officiate. Interment will be private at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born Dec. 29, 1923, in Fairfield, Mr. Chadbourne died April 2, 2000, at his Fairfield home.

Mr. Chadbourne served as a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force during World War II and flew 51 combat missions.

He earned a bachelor's degree in education from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master's degree in school administration from Stanford University.

Mr. Chadbourne was a lifelong educator in Fairfield, working as a teacher, vice principal and principal in addition to several positions in the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District office.

He served two terms as Solano County superintendent of schools, before retiring in 1986.

After retiring, he worked as administrative assistant to county Supervisor Sam Caddle and was appointed to the Solano County Civil Service Commission in 1992.

Mr. Chadbourne is survived by his wife, Nadiene of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay and Paul Neasbitt of Pioneer; sons and daughters-in-law, James W. Jr. and Linda of San Francisco, David and Bridget Carroll of San Francisco and Stephen and Jennifer Carroll of Sacramento; brother, Buck of Fairfield; aunts, Lillian Lawrence of Suisun, Doris Bell of Fairfield and Carol Falati of Fairfield; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1652 W. Texas St., Fairfield, 94533; or to your local hospice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.
