Walter J. Everly

Memorial services for Walter J. Everly, 82, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. April 29 in Community Presbyterian Church. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Everly died April 13, 2000, at his home after a long illness.

Born April 28, 1917, in Longmont, Colo., he moved to the area 42 years ago. He had a 25-year U.S. Air Force career in accounting and finance before retiring as a colonel. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was a longtime booster of the Vacaville Babe Ruth League.

Mr. Everly enjoyed gardening and playing all racquet sports.

Mr. Everly is survived by his brother, Gilbert of Longmont; children, Joan of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Michael of Calabasas; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society by calling 1-800-227-2345 FREE.

Arrangements were handled by Vaca Hills Chapel.

Brigitte Folk

Graveside services for Brigitte Folk, 63, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Rockville Cemetery in Suisun.

The Rev. Francis Lawlor of St. Rose Catholic Church in Sacramento will preside. Interment will be at Rockville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Born June 6, 1936, in Sternberg, Germany, Mrs. Folk died April 19, 2000, in Fairfield after a short illness.

She had been a Fairfield resident for 35 years.

Mrs. Folk is survived by her husband, Richard of Fairfield; daughters, Renate Berger of Fairfield and Regine Holland of Sacramento; sons, Wolfgang and Dieter, both of Vacaville; sister, Margot Reischl of Germany; and six grandchildren.

Memorial contributios may be made to the American Cancer Society-Fairfield Branch, 1652 W. Texas St., Suite 110, Fairfield, 94533.

David Charles Schwenck

A memorial service for David Charles Schwenck, 64, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Vacaville.

Pastor Allen Schoonover will officiate. Inurnment will be private in Indiana.

Mr. Schwenck died on April 19, 2000, in NorthBay Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born on June 21, 1935, in Detroit, he lived in Vacaville and Fairfield for the past five years. He worked as a senior scheduler for Ball-Foster for 30 years. He was a former member of the Lions Club and was an avid tennis player.

Mr. Schwenck is survived by his wife of 46 years, Doris of Vacaville; sons, Dennis of Madera, Douglas of Ogden, Utah, and Daniel of Indianapolis; daughter, Dawn Larson of Fargo, N.D.; brother, Philip of Pittsburg; and sister, Nancy Pillette of Las Vegas. He also had 10 grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, care of Ruth Bradanini, 290 Fruitvale Ave., Vacaville, 95688.

James E. Spencer

At the family's request, no formal services will be held for James E. Spencer, 82, of Fairfield. Inurnment will be private.

Born Aug. 8, 1917, in Los Angeles, Mr. Spencer died April 20, 2000, at home after a short illness.

He had lived in Fairfield for 39 years.

A World War II veteran, Mr. Spencer served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, reaching the rank of master sergeant and retiring as an aircraft mechanic. He was a member of Vacaville Lodge No. 134 F&AM and AAO of the Mystic Shrine Ben Ali Temple of Sacramento.

Mr. Spencer is survived by his wife of 31 years, Helen of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Patricia of Fairfield; stepdaughter, Pamela Miramontes of Fairfield; stepson, Michael Montandon and his wife, Barbara, of Fairfield; sister, Doris Poorc of Fresno; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to NorthBay Hospice Foundation, 1800 Pennsylvania Ave., Fairfield, 94533.

Mary Timek

A memorial service for Mary Timek, 79, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield, with friends officiating.

Inurnment will be at a later date at Mount Olivet Memorial Park in Colma. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Timek died on April 11, 2000, in Napa after a short illness.

Born Nov. 30, 1920, in Juneau, Alaska, she lived in Fairfield for nine years. She worked as a PBX operator for the Royal Insurance Co. before retiring in 1989. She was a longtime resident of the Bay Area and was loved by all. She loved cats and supported the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Mrs. Timek is survived by her caretaker and friend, Beverly McLaughlin of Fairfield; and friends, Diana Vazquez and Denise Powell, both of Vacaville, and Carol Drury of Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to SPCA Haven of Solano County, P.O. Box 356, Vacaville, 95688.

Ruth L. Daniels

A funeral for Ruth L. Daniels, 82, of Fairfield will be 11 a.m. Monday at True Love Baptist Church in Fairfield.

The Rev. James Ray will officiate. Entombment will be at Fairmont Memorial Park in Fairfield. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mrs. Daniels died on April 20, 2000, at Sunbridge Convalescent Hospital in Fairfield.

Born on Sept. 18, 1917, in Eunice, La., she lived in Fairfield for 10 years. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Daniels is survived by her husband, Johnnie of Fairfield; daughter, Deborah of Fairfield; and son, Lonnie of Fairfield. She also had eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Catherine C. Morgan

A memorial service for Catherine C. Morgan, 72, of Tracy will be 11 a.m. Monday at Rockville Presbyterian Chapel at the Rockville Cemetery in Suisun. Pastor Larry Vilardo will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Morgan died on April 18, 2000, in Tracy after a long illness.

Born on Feb. 4, 1928, in Troy, N.Y., she lived in Tracy for the past year after having lived in Fairfield, Vallejo and Napa.

She graduated from the Albany Girls' Academy in New York and then Asbury College in Kentucky. She was married in 1951 and taught school while her husband finished seminary in New Jersey. The couple ministered and taught in Klamath Falls, Orrick and Blue Lake.

In 1957 they moved to Fairfield and started the Presbyterian Church. After a short time in Vallejo, they moved to Napa in 1971. She taught elementary school in Fairfield from 1959 to 1968 and in Vallejo from 1968 to 1986. She moved to Tracy in 1999 to be near her grandchildren. She was an elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church in the Napa Valley and the Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship in Suisun.

She was an avid artist, especially in oils. After her husband passed away she turned to writing and had countless stories and articles published, as well as two children's novels. She was an incredible mother and loving grandmother. She will be missed for her delight in life, her laugh, her enjoyment of family, her grace and the beauty she instilled into all lives.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Jack Smith of Washington, Betsy and Jerry Phillips of Atascadero and Nancy and Joe Link of Tracy; sister, Rosie Bates of New York; brothers, Merritt Brundige and Bob Brundige, both of New York; granddaughters, Catherine Smith of Washington and Kierra Link of Tracy; and grandsons, Luke and David Smith of Washington and Clint, Kyle and Cole Link, all of Tracy. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Arthur Lee, in 1986.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Robert O. Brandau

A memorial service for Robert O. Brandau, 77, of Fairfield will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield. The Sublime Benicia Lodge No. 5 F&AM will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Brandau died on April 19, 2000, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born on Dec. 27, 1922, in Tacoma, Wash., he lived in Fairfield for the past 10 years. He worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo from 1941 to 1942 before serving in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946. While in the Army, he served both in Europe and in Japan.

He owned and operated a commercial tire business from 1946 to 1998 and co-owned Springstown Tire Co. in Vallejo from 1963 to 1998, before retiring. He was a member of the Vallejo Host Lions Club for 26 years and was a past president. He was also a member of the Benicia Lodge No. 5 F&AM for 35 years.

Mr. Brandau is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Fairfield; daughter, Sherry Vogelpohl of Fairfield; son, Craig Floyd of Lake Berryessa; sister, Barbara Neal of Vallejo; and brother, Bill of Vallejo. He also had three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to City of Hope, through any Lions Club.

Carrie Evelyn Virginia Davis

A funeral for Carrie Evelyn Virginia Davis, 76, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Vaca Hills Chapel.

Burial will be at Vacaville Elmira Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.

Mrs. Davis died on April 20, 2000, at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Vallejo after a sudden illness.

Born on July 14, 1923, in St. Joseph, La., she moved to the area 12 years ago. She worked in book repair at the San Francisco Public Library for 14 years. She was a member of the Broad Street Baptist Church in San Francisco for more than 30 years.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her sons, John Jr. and Mark, both of Vacaville, and Paul of San Jose; daughter, Rosa of Vallejo; brothers, Earnest, Charles and Ross Blanche, all of Louisiana; sisters, Edna Blakley of San Jose and Lecester Adams of Redwood City. She also had eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Sr., in 1990; sister, Vera Blanche in 1990; son, Jerome, in 1993; and brother, Edward Blanche, in 1998.

William "Uncle Bill" Pike

A funeral for William "Uncle Bill" Pike, 78, of Suisun City will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Community United Methodist Church.

Pastor David Bunje will officiate. Entombment will be at Santa Rosa Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mr. Pike died on April 19, 2000, in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born on June 23, 1921, in Durham, N.C., he lived in Suisun City for the past two years. He was employed by Certified Cleaners in New York as a presser. He was a member of the Suisun Senior Center and Community United Methodist Church.

Mr. Pike is survived by his wife, Schuyler of Suisun City; nieces, Lillian Sharp of Buffalo, N.Y., Connie Lennox of Long Island, N.Y., and Patricia Taylor of Suisun City; nephews, Arthur Harris of New York, Leon James Jr. of Bronx, N.Y., John Lewis of Columbus, Ohio, Mark Harris of Silver Springs and Keith Harris of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Elna Marie Strand

Graveside services for Elna Marie Strand, 70, of Vacaville will be Thursday at Grasston Union Cemetery in Grasston, Minn. Friends are invited for a visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Strand died on April 19, 2000, in Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness.

Born on April 16, 1930, in Cooperstown, N.D., she lived in Vacaville for 30 years. She was a supporter of Leisure Town, particularly the annual rummage sale. An avid golfer, she won the Cypress Lakes Women's Golf Championship six times between 1972 and 1985.

Mrs. Strand is survived by her sisters, Florence Brown of San Gabriel and Erma Gable of Fargo, N.D.; brothers, Earl Meyers of Britton, S.D., and Clarence Meyers of Yuma, Ariz.; and friend and caretaker, retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. James R. Brandeberry.

Rosendo Villegas

A funeral for Rosendo Villegas, 65, of Dixon will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church.

Interment will be at Silveyville Cemetery in Dixon. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon.

Mr. Villegas died on April 20, 2000, in Dixon after a short illness.

Born on Feb. 28, 1935, in Oakland, he lived in Dixon for 22 years. He worked for American Home Foods in Vacaville for 15 years before working at the Lucky warehouse for 29 years until his retirement. He was a member of Teamsters Local No. 490. He enjoyed music, spending time with his family, woodworking, television repairs and all sports.

Mr. Villegas is survived by his wife of 45 years, Laura; sons, Rosendo Jr. of Pittsburg and Thomas of Dixon; daughters, Laurie Tomelloso and Rebecca, both of Dixon; brothers, Tom and Juan, both of Hayward, and Presi, Pete and Rick Oliva, all of Hayward; and sisters, Virginia Gonzalez of Porterville, Josie Verduzco and Jennie, both of Hayward, and Maggie Del Rio of Dixon. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas, and mother, Isabel Oliva.
