Milton D. Taylor
A memorial service for Milton D. Taylor, 81, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Community Presbyterian Church in Vacaville.
Born in Kansas on Dec. 23, 1918, Mr. Taylor died May 6, 2000, in a car crash in Sacramento.
Mr. Taylor's family moved to Wichita, Kan., when he was a senior in high school. He graduated from North High School in 1937.
He married Frances Christopher in 1940. The couple would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this summer.
Mr. Taylor served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater in World War II.
He later attended the University of Wichita on the G.I. Bill, where he majored in elementary education.
He received his bachelor's degree in 1950 and later earned a master's degree from Fort Hays State University.
While in college, Mr. Taylor worked for Wichita Eagle and Boeing Aircraft. He began teaching in 1951 and his wife also became a teacher.
The couple moved to Stockton in 1959 and to Vacaville in 1960, where they taught for 21 years.
Known as a teacher and friend to many, Mr. Taylor taught at Willis Jepson, Fairmont and Elmira schools. After retirement, he also substituted for several years in local high schools. His former students greeted him all over town and he loved them all. He devoted many hours to after-school sports such as flag football, tumbling and double-Dutch rope jumping.
He is survived by his wife, Frances of Carmichael; daughter, Kathy Bagley of Sacramento; granddaughters, Laurie Stanton and husband Jonathan of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Maria Gibbons and husband Tom of Sacramento; great-grandchildren, Katie, Tim and Stephanie Stanton and Alaina and Tony Gibbons.
He also is survived by sisters, Dorothy Shetlar of Conway Springs, Kan., and Anna Schroeder and husband Clyde of Cheney, Kan.; brothers, Sam of Wichita, Robert of Cheney, Mike of Denver and Ralph and his wife, Betty of Seattle; sister-in-law, Marjorie, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Steve; brother-in-law, Luther Shetlar; and sisters-in-law, Evelyn, Mary and Betty Lou.
Donations can be made to the Community Presbyterian Organ Fund or to a charity of one's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel.
Ronald George Gaston
A funeral for Ronald George Gaston of Garnett will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Washington St., Junction City, Kan. The Rev. Tom Holslag will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery
in Wakefield., Kan.
Mr. Gaston died May 4, 2000, at St. Luke's hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
He was born Sept. 13, 1942, in Junction City. Mr. Gaston graduated from the Junction City High School in 1960. After graduation he relocated to the Vacaville area. He was a manager and store director of Albertson Food chain from 1962 to 1995. He was active in the Chamber of Commerce and involved in the city and county governments throughout his life in California. He was a talented musician from age 14.
Survivors include: brothers, Russell Gaston Jr. and Robert 'Bob' Gaston Sr.; daughter, Shelly Windham; sons, George T. Gaston, and Ronney G. Gaston; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Opal Gaston.

Carol Diane Iverson
A gathering of family and friends in memory of Carol Diane Iverson, 57, of Vacaville, will be 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
Born April 3, 1943, in Chicago, Mrs. Iverson died April 28, 2000, in her Vacaville home after a sudden illness.
She moved to the Vacaville-Fairfield area 21 years ago. She worked in the medical field for 30 years. She brought joy, music and laughter to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Dave, and son, Tim, of Vacaville; uncle, Cifford Carlson of Glendale; cousins, Sandra Kaumaya of Lakewood and Carl Nelson of Chicago; and many close and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Molly and Carl Carlson.

Mauro C. Gapasin
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mauro C. Gapasin, 74, of Vallejo will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Vincent O'Reilly will officiate. Burial will be at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Vaca Hills Chapel, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m.
Mr. Gapasin died on May 6, 2000, at Washoe Medical Center in Reno after a sudden illness.
Born on May 6, 1926, in the Philippines, he moved to the area five years ago. He was a carpenter for Cris Craft Yacht for eight years. He was a member of the California Church and the Filipino American community of Vallejo.
Mr. Gapasin is survived by his wife, Esmenia; daughters, Conchita, Carmelita Willaford, Concepcion, Josephine Pagdanganan, Emerlinda Rosario, Imelda Cisnero, and Sister Juliana; sons, Jaime, Fernandito, Renato and Ferdinand; and grandchildren, Jessica, Joan, Jennifer, Pressila, Antonio, Maresciel, Marlon, Joanne, Michelle, Kristin, Joshua, Monica, Jeremia, Norma and Zenaida. He also had numerous great-grandchildren.
Bruce Alexander Kirk
A funeral for Bruce Alexander Kirk, 78, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Mortuary in Yuma, Ariz. Burial will be at Desert Lawn Cemetery
in Yuma.
Mr. Kirk died on May 8, 2000, in Sunbridge Care Center in Fairfield after a long illness.
Born on Dec. 28, 1921, in Yuma, he moved to Vacaville 22 years ago. He worked as an electrician for Anheuser-Busch for eight years and was in the profession for 43 years. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and enjoyed gold prospecting, model airplanes and was a member of the Yuma Fire Department.
Mr. Kirk is survived by his wife, Margaret of Vacaville; sons, Bruce Jr. of Harmony, Pa., James Frederick of Vacaville and Stephen Glen of Las Vegas; niece, Gloria Curtis of Yuma; and sister, June Frisch of Whittier. He also had five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Ora Marie Powell
At her request, no formal services will be held for Ora Marie Powell, 88, of Vacaville.
Mrs. Powell died on May 9, 2000, after a short illness.
Born on Nov. 17, 1911, in Russell County, Ky., she graduated from Eastern Kentucky University before teaching grade school until 1938, when she married Walter Powell. They lived in Omaha, Neb., Denver, and Sacramento, where she worked for the U.S. Air Force. After retiring in 1967, she and her husband moved to Leisure Town and traveled extensively throughout the world. She especially enjoyed sewing and playing bridge.
Mrs. Powell is survived by her son, Donald, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, in 1988.
Arrangements are being handled by Vaca Hills Chapel.
Alfred Tegudin
A Mass of Christian Burial for Alfred Tegudin, 68, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will officiate. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m.
Mr. Tegudin died on May 7, 2000, at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
Born on March 17, 1932, in Honokaa, Hawaii, he moved to Fairfield 35 years ago. He was a resident of Hawaii from 1932 to 1965. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1954. He worked at Travis Air Force Base for 33 years in civil service, retiring in 1987. He was a loving companion, father and grandfather. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, VFW Post 2333 Fairfield-Suisun, and Hui Hau Oli Hawaiian Club.
Mr. Tegudin is survived by his companion, Natividad Battles of Fairfield; daughters, Lynne Boone of Fairfield and Sandra Anderson of The Dalles, Ore.; stepson, Keith Tamanaha of Fairfield; brother, Timmy of Fairfield; sisters, Nina Carmichael of Concord, Fala Trujillo of Richmond, and Lourdes Pasco of Hawaii. He also has four grandchildren.
Anna Kateri Dolson
A Mass of Christian Burial for Anna Kateri Dolson, 1 day old, of Vacaville will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Yuba City. The Rev. Mark Wiesner will officiate. Burial will follow at Sutter Cemetery. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Travis Air Force Base Chapel No. 1.
Born May 3, 2000, in Sacramento, Miss Dolson died May 4, 2000, at Sutter Memorial Hospital.
Miss Dolson is survived by her parents, Jennifer and Karl of Vacaville; maternal grandparents, Dave and Nancy Summy of Yuba City; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Lorli of Scottville, Mich.
Her father is stationed at Travis.

Patricia Anne Haines
A memorial service for Patricia Anne Haines, 82, of Vacaville will be May 25 in San Francisco aboard the Neptune Society's yacht. Her ashes will be scattered at sea near San Francisco.
Born Aug. 15, 1917, in San Francisco, Mrs. Haines died May 4, 2000, at VacaValley Hospital with her son at her side.
She lived in Vacaville for the last nine months.
Mrs. Haines was a third-generation native of San Francisco and graduated from Girl's High School in 1934. She loved classical ballet, dancing and teaching ballet. She gave up joining the San Francisco Ballet professionally when she decided to marry Robert D. Haines in 1938.
She was a homemaker, active in the Boy Scouts, Camp Fire Girls and teaching Sunday school. She also worked alongside her husband at their bookstore, the Argonaut Book Shop in San Francisco.
When her husband retired in 1975, they turned the business over to their son, Robert Jr., and moved to Santa Rosa.
Mrs. Haines will be remembered for her love of books and the arts, her love of nature, her youthful personality and her hearty laugh.
She is survived by her son, Robert Jr.; daughters, Judy Harbison and Susan Haight, both of San Francisco; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Boris Pereira of Vacaville; former foster daughter from Germany, Erika Stodgell of San Diego; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions can be made to any local animal shelter or animal organization.
Consuelo Orozco De Castro
A Mass of Christian Burial for Consuelo Orozco De Castro, 75, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Interment will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Mrs. Orozco De Castro died on May 10, 2000, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield.
Born on Oct. 31, 1924, in Tlazazalca, Mexico, she lived in Fairfield for the past 30 years. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid gardener and loved to travel, shop, visit the ocean and Reno.
Mrs. Orozco De Castro is survived by her husband, Felix Castro of Fairfield; daughters, Irma Ramos of Napa, Teresa and Maria of Mexico, Virginia Castro-Madrigal of Napa, Lidia of Fairfield, and Alicia Castro-De Vargas of Denver; sons, Jesus, Fernando, Roberto, Enrique and Salvador, all of Fairfield; sister, Carmen Orozco De Andrade of Mexico; and brothers, Rogelio and Jesus Orozco of Mexico, and Gonzalo and Daniel Orozco of Fairfield. She also had 25 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Ollie G. Sasser
Graveside services for Ollie G. Sasser, 51, of Dixon will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Dr. Nathaniel Bragg will officiate. Interment will be at the cemetery.
Mrs. Sasser died on May 9, 2000, in Davis.
Born on Jan. 23, 1949, in New London, Conn., she lived in Dixon for the past 30 years. She worked as an accounting manager for the Army Air Force Exchange Service at Travis Air Force Base for 27 years.
Mrs. Sasser is survived by her husband, Otis of Dixon; sisters, Marie James of Glasboro, N.J., Sandra Smith of Sacramento, Doris Gray of New Haven, Conn., Morine Ratliff of New Haven, and Kathy Spinks of Springfield, Mass.; and brothers, Nelson Gray Jr. of New Haven and Oliver Gray of New York. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert; mother, Ollie Mae Gray; father, Nelson Gray Sr.; brother, Paul Gray; and sister, Dorine Ratliff.

Jerrad Perrin
A private graveside service will be held at Rockville Cemetery
in Suisun for Jerrad Perrin, 17, of Fairfield. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.
Mr. Perrin died May 12, 2000, in Fairfield after a long illness. He was born July 7, 1982, in Fairfield and lived there his entire life. He was scheduled to graduate from Fairfield High with the Class of 2000. He worked at Graphic Auto Body for three years and was a member of the JBJ Squad.
He is survived by his parents, Bob and JoAnn Perrin of Fairfield; sister, Sara Perrin of Redlands; brothers, Jeremy Perrin of Fairfield and Robert Perrin of Redlands; grandparents, John and Mary Perrin of Fairfield, and Mr. and Mrs. S. McFadden of Fairfield; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.
